specialaccount: Ikwerre, kalabari, ogoni etc missing from the list Ikwerre is classified as a sub-tribe of Igbo. Kalabari is Ijaw. But I think Ogoni is a separate entity. Igbo and Ijaw(Izon) for Ikwerre and Kalabari are shown there. |

Tolexander: Obat seems to be just wealthy but lacks the place of reasoning and understanding on this Moremi issue!
Moremi had a strategy to liberate her people (Ife) from the incessant raids by the ugbo in masquerade-like costumes, this made them looked like super being . She went to River Esinmirin to pray and promised to sacrifice his son, Oluorogbo, to the river if she comes back.
During the next ugbo raid, Moremi surrendered herself to be captured and taken to ugboland. There she was married by the king for some years. She got to know the secret of these ugbo people and sneaked out one day back to Ife.
The following raid by the ugbo, Moremi had prepared her people (Ife) against the raid, the ugbo raiders were conquered and defeated. That ends the incessant raid by the ugbos on Ife land.
Ife is strategic place in the historical values of Yoruba people, how would someone in the place of King Obateru tell the Yoruba race not to celebrate the liberator (or liberatress if there is a place of feminizing) of the town, Ife?
Just like telling the Europeans not to celebrate Arthur Wellesley for conquering Napoleon Bonaparte at the battle of Waterloo, when France had almost got the whole of Europe to herself. Though France may not like him.
Or telling the Jews to call Queen Esther a villain for saving her people from Hamman Yeah I understand this story quite clearly. But you are a little partial in your judgement and have ignored the position of the Olugbo. The Ugbo Ilaje, were among the principal original dwellers in Ile-Ife before and his dynasty came to displace them, hence the quarrel that led to the Ugbo[or Igbo(Bush)] people constantly invading Ile-Ife until Moremi came to the rescue. This is the issue. |

themosthigh: If only the british waited for 50 more years before coming,If only there will be more cooperation between the two superior races in Nigeria, then the country would have been greater. The Fulanis have conquered the Hausas and physically enslave the yorubas at Illorin then mentally enslave them politically, the igbos would have assimilated the other tribes of the south south since they have a genetic advantage over most just like the fulanis possess a genetic advantage too. By now Igbo and Hausa(Fulani adopted language)would have been the only prestigious languages and together nigeria would have progressed rapidly. Note: I am uroboho, my mum is Igbo and I am glad she gave me the superior genes needed to face the world just like yemi alade, bukola saraki Desmond Eliot etc and other yorubas with half Igbo or Fulani parents are superior and elrufai, sanusi lamido, atiku etc with strong Fulani innvervation are also superior to other pure northerners. We need genetic mixing in this country to dilute all the bad and inferior genes.
Fulani and Igbo have superior genes? Issokay. That's your opinion. But is it Urhobo you're spelling as 'Uroboho'? And you call yourself an Urhobo son? Thunder fire your left ball. |

Afterall a Hausa man from Kano or Kaduna is closer to another Hausa man from Niger than he is to an Urhobo/Isoko or Ijaw man in the Niger-Delta.

Atiku2019: No Doubt about that
All Hands On Deck OK o. The 2 main things that will make me support him are 1. His talk about restructuring our federal structure. Even though Politicians can't be trusted, we can still give a benefit of doubt. This is very important for me especially as a Deltan who is fed up with this bad s system we operate in Nigeria. 2. If he can get someone like Peter Obi as running mate then he has my support already. That man is an asset politically and economically and to think the VP is normally the head of economic management makes it all the more interesting. |
