Doctor what causes pterygium and what can I use to correct it. Tnx
. pterygium isn't much of a clinical concern unless when it starts causing visual disturbañce by encroaching the cornea( glass like tissue over d black part of your eye) of which a pterygium excision would be done in dat case. sometimes it could be irritated aswell causing some discomfort nd eye drops re usually prescribed in such situations. nevertheless if it's a cosmetic concern fr you, u cld go for its excision but there's a possibility for regrowth. pterygium is said to be caused by much prolong xposure to harsh environmental conditions

Hello Doc,
I'm seeking medical help for a colleague.
Since I joined them I get disturbed by his cataract white eyeball.
It beat me why he would stay that way for years.
So a couple of us came together,we want to pay for his surgery bcz he's an indigent and couldn't afford it and yet a very hardworker.
Can you recommend any affordable, not too pricy (bcz we are just young ppl trying to make ends meet too)and yet efficient place/ person with good review, either in Lagos or Ogun state environs where he can do it. Preferably where after checking him out he'll get a quick date for surgery... Max 1-2 weeks.
Thanks in advance...
And nice job you're doing here.
tnk u. if u wldnt mind answering, whts ur budget fr d surgery ?

Thank you very much for responding...
I really appreciate it.
I am 24 yrs going on 25 nxt yr april. The squint has been since I was about 7-9yrs cos I think was in pry 2 or 3. Am really not sure of the cause Becos my eyes were very normal before then. But most doctors during by visitation suspected it was measles not properly taken care of then got into my eyes. Skipper recommended glasses to me, bout they opened up saying it won't correct it but can make my appear abit beta. Skippers actually said I have Abnormal retinal correspondence and that will cause me permanent double vision.
So Wich orthoptist will u recommend and can I get a different prognosis or is it rather possible to treat the ARC ist and howhuh I really don't wish to live this way *sad*
my dear i tink surgery would be the best option as i sense the strabismic eye must have been suppressed already and therez no binocularity at play as it has been long standing. hence anomalous retinal correspondence isn't really an issue in my opinion. just for clarification; the fact it bcomes more deviated wen u close the other eye doesn't mk it an alternating strabismus. if it has different degree of deviation at different viewing distances, that makes it an incomitant tropia. strabismus is kinda complex. need i tell you , u may b needing to do the surgery more than once. best of luck.i understand hw u feel just try luving yourself the way you are. i hope you get the best

Hello Doc,
Pls I have squint (esotropia) and it's visible more on my right eye but it alternates wen I try the cover test by myself. Please it's really affecting me, my esteem Evrytin and am not happi bout it. I ve visited several hospitals Wich include maxi vision ikeja, eye foundation GRA ikeja, military hosp bonny camp, skipper eye-q V.I lagos etc most told me surgery is the best short bout for fear of unknown and funds i didn't get it done then. But now I really want to and last 2 months i visited eye-q at V.I and they conducted the 4 colours test (red, green light etc) (I hope you understand ) and then the doctor said if I do the surgery I will see double for the rest of my life, nd it's really sad and it was only that hosp that conducted that test for me and came up with that prognosis. But really wat do u think please, how can you advise, I don't like the tot of looking this way for the rest of life. Thank you.
. hi there....a lot comes into play in deciding the best management option for strabismus. like ur age, how long has d squint been, the onset, d cause, general systemic history etc. i will suggest you consult an orthoptist. i will not be in the best position to decide the best management option since i dnt hv ur history nor did i carry out any test on u. since skipper tld u surgery wldnt b gud fr ur case , wht was their recommendation?

HI. I use the system a lot, so I decided to go to an eye clinic in Sango Ota to get protective glasses.
After taking necessary tests, the Optometrician confirmed I had no eye issues and I only need protective glasses.
I was billed 14 thousand naira for the total cost of getting a photochronic lens or 10 thousand for the tainted lens.
So, the issue is I contacted a friend who uses glasses also and he said I was getting ripped off.
So my question is; is that the same price obtainable in the market for the same lens?
If I have to pay 14k without an eye defect, then how much would someone with an eye defect have to pay?
Thank you.
you are not being ripped off. different clinics with their prices. many clinics actually charge more fr that lense type. alot of factors comes into play in influencing the price for a service

Let Nigerians continue to lambast the few quack doctors they have left, while they hail the looters that put the hospitals in the mess they are.

By this time 2025 I can assure you they'll be no single doctor practising in Nigeria.

I can swear on my life....shebi we told you guys the consequences of not giving a damn about your doctors, you'll rather prefer to blackmail us when we fight for our rights through strike saying we're evil people.

Don't worry we'll leave you guys in good hands when we're all gone and we'll see who you'll blame next....I'm sure you still won't blame the polithiefcians even if they're the ones left, you'll find a way of absolving them of any blame and put the blame on yourself instead.

Cursed and confused Nigerian Patients.
shut ya trap man hw dare u refer to ur pt as cursed?
