This is all very well, but in life, you crawl befor you walk and run. Naija needs more basic tins. You know? Reliable electricity, adequate broadand, and a wealthy middle class. Right now these things don't exist, and efforts like these, laudable as they are do not address the root problems that society like ours yearn for. Well, Dead on arrival mate ![]() |
In life you only get one chance, in love there are no rules. Do it if your heart and mind say so. |
i've done something close and it's up there with my best and worst experiences evr to date. I think it's not a bad idea for people to experience something crazy once in their lives even if it's short lived.. |

randa: Hi everyone, my name is Andrew Randa and as you might have noticed I am responsible for the pidgin content on the side. I have read all your comments and I must say it gladdens my heart, but the good and negative comments are welcome, it's part of the territory, I was skeptical about it in the beginning but the responses I got from peeps all over the world was fantastic, many were of the opinion they wanted something new and refreshing, the amount of hits we get on the page is a testament to the fact it is catching up. There were a bit of derogatory statements made on nairaland which is fine by me, in journalism it comes with the territory. Thanks for your contributionsGood job Andrew, some of my concerns may be premature. I hope it all works out. |
dmcdad: I don't really appreciate using pidgin to write articles cuz it's quite difficult comprehending with itI agree. speaking pidgin has a curve. And reading it has an even steeeper curve. If this was done to attract readers who can not read english, then it is unnecessary. Reading pidgin requires a skill inaccessible to people who cannot read english. |
i studied engineering but im now a part time writer and part time finance man. i love my career |
age 2, my birthday in Ilaje Bariga, it was also my younger brother's birthday, exactly one year younger than me. It was our party and my baby brother was crying a lot. there was a lot going on and i could not stand it. I simply wandered out to the balcony to play alone with two chickens we had. and also to enjoy a view of the sun charred rooftops in my area . i guess that is why i prefer to be alone till today ![]() |
Read good books aloud, get their audio versions and try to match the pace and cadence of the speakers. It may help. Practicise Practise Practise! |

pro01: Could Africa have achieved civilisation (or at least the semblance of it) and (under)development without the intervention of the European invaders - and eventual colonial masters? I seriously doubt it. We would probably still have a very tribal existence (of the sort we see on Discovery Channel) were it not for the 'exposure' the Europeans brought along with them. The europeans should have let the african natives self-evolve. I also don't know that the african continent was dark at any point in time; that crept into the lexicon from white supremacists since Conrad's masterpiece: "heart of darkness". Africa was self governing, maybe not with the same mercurial pace of the europeans, but they were nevertheless evolving gradually and shoud have been let alone. |
