Afam4eva: That Denzel guy seems like a pervet. In the Bathroon, he almost put his john thomas into the mouth of one of the girls. He was trying so hard to make her feel comfortable and remove her own clothe totally so that he can fulfil his fantasies. Always running to go have his bath when some girls want to have theirs.
Pervert-in-chief didn't you enjoy watching all that?
StateOfMind: Selly seems to be the least popular amongst the nominated house mates. I think she's suffering from inferiority complex or whatever. She hardly talks, plays or mixes. She just sits looking like a blonde all day.

At least denzel, natasha, betty and huddah are being talked about either for good or bad.

Huddah is so full of herself.. Who exercises in bikini sef.

I see selly getting the least votes come sunday.
Yeah, i cringed so hard when Selly was crying because she was nominated( like duh what have you done to deserve not to be nominated) and when other housemates were coming to console her. The whole affair just reeked of hypocrisy-- i mean the best way to sincerely empathize with anyone is by putting yourself on the chopping block ahead of the nominated housemate--it's a game, duh!
Um, am i the only who thinks ruby house is just loud and raucous, I prefer diamond mehn.

One question: Is Nomski0 a virgin?
one suggestion: if u are a virgin then hold on to it everyone,if you arent, hold to that to.
One word: dont condemn anyone because they dont think the way you do..there was a time you didn't know what you know today
1000 likes but ignorance should be called out for what it is, especially in a public forum which can be used to mislead other people.
Nomski0: America is a country ruled by the devil himself...
This is just tired and wrong. I'm done with this conversation.

postulate321: Soo when you are talking about sex as a compusary necessity in a successful relationship. Inscribe it in the circle of your sentments. thanks.
#winks#
I never said sex is compulsory. I only said it's natural for people to have lustful sexual desires in a normal healthy relationship. The original poster started this thread asking if it possible to have a normal relationship without sex and it wasn't long before the faith mongers came to preach at us about sex crimes and all. If the poster had said she were christian or Muslim I wouldn't have bothered. I responded at what i thought was ignorance being veiled under the guise of culture or religion. I responded because I try, whenever I can, to appeal to human values, above all else; and this talk about us being African is just over-worn and belongs to the 18th century.
RomanceRe: Can A Relationship Survive Without S3X?.... by orgasticdance:
Nomski0: Please my dear no matter where you come from, sex before marriage is both a sin and an insult to your body. How did aids spread so rapidly?! There's nothing to gain from it.....just unwanted pregnancy.(leading to murder i.e abortion.), diseases(some leading to death.). Wait till you're married, thats the beauty of it all.
And oh! Sex before marriage is like opening your birthday present before your birthday, when you finally open it....there's no excitement. Just bluh.
Still more high-falutin ignorance from u. Marriage isn't the be all end all. More people in the world are choosing to remain single for life. More married couples are also choosing not to have children. Virginity, as so many other posters have correctly stated is overrated and unnecessary! If in your myopic view of the world, sex is the most important thing in a marriage and therefore people should preserve their bodies for that lame reason alone then you are probably the most boring person on the planet. And men who think virginity ranks that high in their warped view of relationships with women deserve primitive women like you.
RomanceRe: Can A Relationship Survive Without S3X?.... by orgasticdance: 7:54pm On May 29, 2013
Nomski0: you are the perfect example of someone controlled by the western culture. Who told you that virginity is over-rated? Or that if you dont sleep with your man, you guys are like brother and sister? *shaking my head* i dont want to even ask if you are religious, because its obvious you are not. God who condems fornication didnt know what he was talking about right? He didnt know what was best for us. Now everyone is supporting sex before marriage, soon it'll be homosexualism, then devil worshipping then atheism. Just because everyone does it doesnt make it right. THIS IS AFRICA AND WE HAVE OUR CULTURE TO UPHOLD.
The post reeks of ignorance of nigh stupefying proportions. Why are you typing with a western device and speaking a western tongue yet accusing someone else of being controlled by western influence? When did sex before marriage become an african thing -- wasn't it institutionalized by the west whom you've dismissed ignorantly? No--this argument isn't about african culture or western anything, don't appeal to petty traditional or religious sentiments. This is a universal issue that strikes at the heart of being a human being regardless of where you come from or what faith you profess. Human beings are wired to reproduce and fill the world with their progeny; it's only natural to expect people who are in healthy relationships to want to have sex at some point--we are wired that way.

Uyi Iredia: There is no clear, indubitable evidence that heaven exists. However, the thought of dying without ever living again is saddens me, sometimes to the point of depression.
a kindred soul here; and one reason why I'm probably going to go through life alone without a wife or children. I'd rather not have been born--yes I've been suicidal before. In my selfish view it's criminal to bring children into this chaotic world with it's beauty and confusion and have them snuffed out of it in their prime or in their old age. But no lie, discovering this truth was one of the most empowering things to happen to me, but alas, as Schopenhauer said, 'with increased intelligence comes increased capacity for pain". Death be not proud!

To the religious faithful, what a comforting thought it is to spend eternity with our loved ones and in the arms of a loving father, but oh that's the great delusion -- every thinking man knows that life is nothing but a crack of light between two eternities of darkness.

ItsModella: Denzel is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring...can he get out of the house already? and the dude is totally gay, did you see the way he was massaging that girl, can't remember her name, yesterday morning? he was acting like a complete efftard.

That Sulu guy needs to stop acting drunk, wallahi!! I can't even watch him.

And I agree with Amaka, the hate on Beverly needs to stop abeg. If anything, Melvin is the one acting like a complete gbollo, but nobody is hating on him.
No denzel's not gay; he is just weird eccentric and different. He's my favorite housemate and one of the few housemates who has some depth to his personality-- compared to say, dunderhead-ed bolt(Read their bios on bba's website; Denzel's bio blew me away!). Give him time. He may grow on you...I didn't like Natasha at first but she's grown on me and is, in my opinion, an early contender for the top prize. I really don't enjoy watching the Nigerian contestants. Beverly tries too hard but can be forgiven for her age; Melvin is a looker and has a warm personality, but I'd rather have other housemates on screen anytime he comes on.
My fave contestants so far are:
Natasha, Denzel, Angelo, Fatima, Nando and eye candy dellish.

TFA is tucked in my "to be read some day" shelve but I've read two of his non fiction works: the trouble with Nigeria and There was a country. I haven't read TFA yet because it felt too familiar( I'm Igbo and grew up in a village so it was like duh i know this nah, ok I may be wrong) and as an adult my sense of detachment from the master's classic grew for the same reasons WS pointed out; of TFA being a counter narrative to a foreigner's view of us; there was something contrived abut a work being a masterpiece for that reason..That's why I'm inclined to agree with those who say it wasn't his best work from a literal stand point.

Aha, so TFA hasn't been translated to any Nigerian language yet? But has been translated to 50 other non nigerian languages? Food for thought...

i hit my teens in the late 90s -- nintendo, ataris, action shooters like robocop and police academy where the rage for me--but I don't know that the 90s were better than at any other decade. In some ways I wish I were born in the noughties any time I see my nephew rattle off high game scoeres on his mother's Ipad; satelites and the internet are now more common place. CultureRe: Death Of The African (nigeria) Languages by orgasticdance: 2:21pm On May 17, 2013
lordizak: The truth is... We (some) african paren't are lady and stupid.. Why bring children into the world when You can't spend 40mins out of Ur free hours with them -to teach them Ur language?
You see, My Dad is Nigerian, My Mum a Ghanain. I was born in Cotonou, Benin Republic. Stayed a little in Togo and Ghana. I can speak.. French, Good British-English, Nigerian and Ghanian Pidgin (pidgin get grade). Ewe and afanti Ghana. fon, wheda and Whla Benin Republic and gayngbe togo.. Igbo (Asaba) language. Currently learning Hausa and Yoruba ( i don't know the correct spelling of d names of all those languages) . So I began to wonder Why some dumb folks. Born and breed in their home town can't speak their indiginous language. In my case i never learnt my Dads language Until I Was Age 12, that is because my Dad was a stranger (a polygamist) obviously spending time with my brenthens elswhere as at that time. Now, i can speak my language and the truth is... it was worthwhile.
In many cases, parents are to be blamed. Our languages are going extinct. Our names and those of our fathers are going extinct. For what Good reason should the African bear names as henry, beverly. Lorraine, jimmy. Kelvin? It all start from there? The next thing is you getting the name format - Goodluck Jonathan- we are no longer slaves. This problem is peculiar with Us africans.
The funniest thing is that most of this "white Nigerians" is that some of them can't even speak and write english as cool as folks like me. Those of them that fake accent can't juxtapose between American and British english. Our home videos is full of crap.
What can U and me teach people from the orient and arctic if not our own culture and language? Arise and save Our heritage. It does not stampede your out-growth..
Maybe you have a natural facility with languages and may well learn as many as 10 to 20 languages in your time, more power to you. Some of us are not that lucky and are for all practical intents and purposes stuck with you derisively called the "white man's" language. First things first, african parents are not stupid. My parents, (god bless them both) in an ideal world would rather I spoke only their native language to the exclusion of any foreign imposed language, i chose not to--no fault of theirs-- some of my siblings decided differently and speak our mother tongue fluently. Are children and adolescents who decide against speaking their native tongue stupid for doing so? Who are you to judge? When you've produced the quantum of art literature entertainment and knowledge in that your native language then maybe you can then make your case-- until then the jury is still out on this matter. Right now, In my opinion speaking your native tongue is a "nice" thing to have but not useful as it once was, which may be responisble for their gradual decline as Nigeria modernizes. In addition, this isn't the debate we should be having; language and culture are great things to preserve but in the Nigerian context where do you draw the line on preserving that which accentuates our differences as Nigerians vs encouraging unifying elements such as the adoption of a lingua franca?
No easy answers...Therefore'd it'd be unwise to rush into hasty conclusions as you've done.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Sexual Thought A Sin by orgasticdance: 12:43pm On May 17, 2013
Depends on your belief system which you did not specify. of course the religious faithful will come out in here in droves and tell you thoughtlessly that it is a sin because the bible says so. But as a rational human being, you've already acknowledged that it's well nigh impossible to rein in the wandering thoughts of the mind. So you have the answer then! No man or puny God has the right to crucify you for what is purely a harmless indulgence of your mind! And perhaps nothing reinforces the fraud of the faithful more than their petty preoccupation with what goes on in peoples minds and bedrooms. What's their damn business anyway? Guy leave the thoughtless sheep to their primitive ways and indulge your mind abeg!

^^^English and Mandarin are more popular than the Nigerian languages you relegate to the background because the English and Chinese do not reason like many Africans or Igbos, such as yourself.
Just incase you haven't heard. Those languages you just mentioned--Mandarin and English-- belong to world class beaters!; Civilizations that were built through the the sweat brawn and brains from men through time; not some tiny clan in your village! The English and Chinese were not in their caves and little huts beating their chests to the supremacy of their cultures or languages. They toiled, built useful things like the gun powder and steam boat; explored the world, homogenized their societies, consolidated and dominated other peoples like "your folks" and continue to weild so much power and influence today in world.
Contrary to what you think, I'm all for the adoption of a native language as Nigeria's lingua franca-- i don't care which, let it be hausa or yoruba; but going by your parochial stance it's a safe bet you'll be all up in arms if it's nothing but your native tongue!

All these made me wanna seek my more about the cultures and tradition, I love my Igbo and ALWAYS damn proud of it.

Well I have not claimed I am better than anyone who speaks igbo and english fluently. I'm just irritated by people who romanticize igbo or any other native culture as if not being able to speak your mother tongue makes you less human. I can understand why anyone would want to hang on to their traditional customs, but please don't tell me people don't have the right to learn or adopt whatever culture or language they so desire. Culture is transient, not static! There's a reason more lagos professionals and their kids are taking french and mandarin classes as opposed to trying to learn another Nigerian language! Isn't it almost laughable that you had to make your point in "another man's language". Why did it take your forefathers so long to write stuff down in your native language anyway? SMH. Lots of sour grapes from people who don't love chelsea on this thread. Like most fans, I was indifferent about this competition after we got eliminated from the UCL and would rather have had us eliminated early on to foccus on the epl. But credit to the team, they've finished strong from what was generally a dissappointing season, and there's something about wining that becomes ingrained into the DNA of the team. With Champions league qualification t sealed and the MOU and a few world class players coming into the fold...This team would only get stronger next season.

I have igbo roots and at six I made a deliberate choice to "shy" away from its language and native customs purely out of selfish reasons: At six I could tell my native culture was not a world beater! Most of my friends spoke in a different language-- English. All the TV programs and cartoons that were coming up at 4pm were not using my native language therefore I decided there was no point clutching at a dying breed. English and French would give me more options in the world, I thought to myself. More than 20 years later do I have regrets? Nopes! nothing life damaging has happened; just the occasional situation when I can't converse in my native tongue, which happens very rarely. And all the moronic cultural unions/associations I see around in town I just shake my head at. My point is, I came into this world not as a Tiv or Fulani or Igbo man, I tumbled forth into this world as a human being, and I'll depart out of it as one.

It was the first game I was introduced to. As a child I was living in what could be called a village. There were no nintendos or gameboys nearby. But I had one clever cousin who used to come from lagos every now and then and regale me with tales of city life. I remember being so entranced when she was describing this mario game. As a child I was transported into another world. Playing the game was an anticlimax of sorts...because by that time i had heard so many tales about the game and had already created my own alternate Mario universe I was enmeshed in.
