1. Limited amount of jobs or career options. I cant aspire to be the best birds observer in the world or por.n director and make a living of it in Nigeria.
2. The limited jobs are mostly in Lagos, Abuja and ph.
3. The typical Nigerian company does not innovate or reinvent anything.
4. How when you get the job, the company rarely wants to invest in giving you the tools to exceed well at the job.

Homguy: Lynpetra nailed it . Will you stop whining ? and give up already! Whenever, their achilles heel is publicized they cry foul and claim its only a certain calibre of gurls it applies to. You get 4 brea5t5? 2 kitkats,? Give it up to lynpetra for being real and stop *no more ink*
Nah she didn't. Speak for yourself. I'm a guy and I've been around quite a bit. Having someone as hot as lynpetra offer some comforting and easy formulaic approach that would only work for probably 5% of women may confer some validity to you as most nlers thoughtlessly hitting the like button on her advice, it doesnt to me oh. Women of the special variety are meant to be difficult unpredictable game, as is expected, that her approach wont work for most women imho.

Babes, how wud u like to be toasted, thanks
Read The Game by Neill Strauss, it might help you( My hit rate with chicks improved after reading that book honestly)
No one should be the love of your life, at least not when they don't even feel half that way about you yet.
You're only setting yourself up to be crushed emotionally.
She doesn't send you? Big deal. That's part of the whole hustle...Double your rejection rate by getting out and meeting more women who met your criteria. In only a matter of time you'd find someone who feels nearly as much as you do about her.

This is ridiculous. A ps 4 sells for 139k in jumia!!!!!
Twice what you'll pay for if you are buying from amazon ( $399 or 64 k)
Why why why do naija businesses like ripping customers off, all of us are not sons of senators who can order for ten consoles for ourselves and girlfriends. I understand there are cost considerations such as taxes, import duties and freight costs but does that justify a more than 100% price increase? Yikes!

mickyarams: 13 for me was class. I enjoyed it to death and having played the 14 demo I thought it was good. Since 2010 I always got fifa and pes but after playing both 14 demo's, I decided I wanted only pes. Now I feel like doing a shit on the thing.

What's with the defenders getting ridiculous bursts of speed? Hangeland is not Puyol. The collision engine is seriously fubar. There's been moments where my players have got entangled and nobodies moved. And the same if the ball goes past a player - they stand and f*cking watch!!! Sorry for the anger but its a mess. The passing is also prompting players not to chase the ball when played to them. They seem to just stop running and watch it roll. THEN, 1st time shots. This has really pissed me off. As rooney, I strike at goal, keeper saves, rebound falls to RVP, is first time strike goal, I press square - he flaps up the ball with this ridiculously slow bring down and gets tackled. Thing is I saw the power bar, so why did he control it?!?! WHY?? What the f*ck have they done to this game? Its never going to be perfect, it never will. I accept there's things that will be messy but this is just awful. I find it unplayable at times and I am to say at the least, disappointed.

Apologies for the ranting but I needed to vent it because it seems worse than the demo ffs.

Anyone else noticed these issues?
Lol, i just installed pes 14 on my pc and i also noticed the first time shot issue, it affects rebounds and corners especially( when u cross a boll, a player controls it on his chest instead of nodding it first time like wtf) . Meh, ive dumped the game and won't play it till feb or so after patches become available. but i wont be holding my breath knowing how unreliable konami are. fifa 14 plays decent but it just doesnt feel as organic(cant explain) as pes.

TV/Movies / Re: How Much Does DSTV Nigeria Make Monthly? by orgasticdance: 12:28pm On Nov 17, 2013
DSTV's model isn't sustainable in the long run. With the the likes of Hulu and Netflix etc internet TV will eventually make current satelite TV models outmoded. That's why behemoths like Samsung, Baidu and Apple are currently looking towards smart internet TV as the next frontier in our tech evolution. Things may take longer here as usual. But even for an ordinary naija boy most of my TV needs i currently get off the internet anywayz( NBA, History,BBc, Mojo, Documentaries, EPL, Movies). Things will definitely get better the moment internet access becomes virtually free as it inevitably would.

most important thing is progress. I dont care. let all nigerians speak one or two majority languages. WHo knows. Mandarin and Hausa? English and Hausa? Whatever, theres no point in romanticizing which it must be, most important things is for human beings to COMMUNICATE so that all the other things that civilization is anchored on can grow: economy, our military, medicine, tech, etc etc.

This is the most sensible comment so far on this thread. The native Nigerian foolishness makes us believe monetary reward is the ultimate. What's more important is these boys' long term careers and that is what the govt should be protecting/insuring now. Unfortunately it is alien to our irresponsible governments to think that way.

Going by what's happened to eaglets of previous years, chances are high that these boys won't get government support for their careers, even for the medium-term (lets see how many of them graduate into the flying eagles).

Who even knows if/when they'll actually get this money? Or how much trouble they would have to go through to get it? Or if they'll even get it in full?
I get ur point. But even in a utopian world only few will eventually graduate to the elite level. Darwinism at play. We all cant win. Many entrants, few are chosen . Call it what u want. It's just what it is. its not a naija thing. Only few of the under 21 in the english team will eventually break into the senior national team. Where i part company is on the naija factor because we lack a basic welfare system (that respects and supports past contributors as the eagles are currenty doing now) ; many of the current crop of eagles who don't make it "will" end up broke dead and useless like the great yekini

the boys look like davidos peer (17ish to 23ish) thats ok and better than wen we used to take people who look clearly over thirty. iv come to terms with the age thing. opportunities here are slim and a thirteen year old swede generally has more opportunites( ala training facilities, good food, sports standards etc) than the average thirteen year old back home. so the advantages level out somewhat.

Religion / Church For Nonbelievers by orgasticdance: 10:55am On Nov 01, 2013
Atheist Sunday Assembly branches out in first wave of expansion
(London's godless congregation to launch satellite assemblies in other UK cities and as far afield as New York and Sydney)

It started, as a number of the world's great religions have done, with a small group of friends and a persuasive idea: why should atheists miss out on all the good things churches have to offer? What would happen if they set up a "godless congregation" that met to celebrate life, with no hope of the hereafter?

Eight months after their first meeting in a deconsecrated church in north London, the founders of the Sunday Assembly have their answer: on Sunday they will announce the formation of satellite congregations in more than 20 cities across Britain and the world, the first wave of an expansion that they believe could see 40 atheist churches springing up by the year and as many as 1,000 worldwide within a decade.

From Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol and Dublin, to New York, San Diego and Vancouver, to Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, groups of non-believers will be getting together to form their own monthly Sunday Assemblies, with the movement's founders – the standup comedians Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans – visiting the fledgling congregations in what they are calling, only partly in jest, a "global missionary tour".

Though he always suspected he was not the only one to regret that his lack of faith excluded him from a church-style community, Jones admits to being a little bewildered by the speed and scale at which his idea has caught on. "When I had the idea for this, I always thought if it was something I would like to go to in London then it was something other people would like to go to in other places.

"The one thing that we didn't take into account was the power of the internet, and I think even more than that, the fact that there is obviously a latent need for this kind of thing. People have always congregated around things that they believe in. I think people are going to look back at the fact that it didn't happen as the oddity, not this part."

Satellite assemblies will agree to the central charter of Jones and Evans's original gathering – which still meets monthly in central London – and Jones expects them, initially at least, to stick to a similar format, in which a "host" leads several hundred congregants through songs, moments of contemplation and a sermon-like (but secular) talk.

"If we do it in London and there are 400 people who come, that's brilliant, but if we find a way to help hundreds of people to set one up then we can have a bigger impact than we could ever dream of," says Jones. Their vision, he says, is "a godless gathering in every town, city or village that wants one".

Stuart Balkham is one of a small group of Brighton unbelievers who next weekend will hold their inaugural assembly – the theme is beginnings – in a disused church in Hove.

He and his partner went to the London gathering where, he says, "there was just something that clicked". Part of the appeal was the style of non-worship: "It's unashamedly copying a familiar Church of England format, so it's part of the collective consciousness."

Balkham says he has envied churches the sense of community they can offer, and thinks atheists can learn from the social good that many churches do. "It's naive to deny that there's a lot of good that comes out of organised religion, and I think helping in the community is another thing that Sunday Assemblies should be aspiring to unashamedly copy."

Nick Spencer, research director of Theos, a thinktank looking at religion's role in society, says the growth of the movement may appear striking but it is not necessarily new. "This contemporary idea of people who are not religious but wanting to maintain some kind of church-like existence has got form. We've been here before."

Spencer, who will publish a book next year on the history of atheism, sees echoes of the late 19th century, when hundreds of "ethical unions" were founded in response to the growing atheism of the times. The movement, he says, similarly concentrated on good works and community around a recognisably church-like liturgy, but petered out within a generation or two.

"The reason for that was because you need more than an absence to keep you together. You need a firm common purpose. What you can see in these modern-day atheist churches is people united by a felt absence of community. I suspect what brings them together is a real desire for community when in a modern, urbanised individualised city like London you can often feel very alone. That creates a lot of camaraderie, but the challenge then becomes, what actually unites us?"

Jones says he is alive to criticism that the assemblies appeal to a limited demographic – young, professional and overwhelmingly white – but says: "I don't there's anything that's inherently elite about people getting together to sing songs and think about themselves and improve their community. But we can't wait to see people doing it in all manner of different places in all manner of different ways, that appeal to all manner of different people."

In the meantime, a few members of the London congregation have already started thinking about setting up a free school guided by Sunday Assembly principles, raising the prospect, as Jones notes, "of Christians one day lying about being atheists to get their children into school".
