The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says the Ijebu Ode-Epe Expressway would be completed by May 2021, while the loop which is being constructed to reduce accidents at the interchange of the road would be completed by the 3rd quarter of 2021.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who made this known during an on-the-spot assessment of work done on the loop that would aid the easy movement of road users either linking Benin-Ore from the Ijebu Ode-Epe Expressway or those linking the Ijebu Ode-Epe Expressway from the Sagamu end, said that the road when completed would further open up the axis to more economic development.
“If you are coming from Sagamu-Benin unto Ijebu Ode-Sagamu or Ijebu Ode-Benin and also for those that are coming from Ore and going to Lekki, you won’t have to be crossing the expressway, you will just get on the loop and without obstructing traffic, you are now Epe bound.
“The most important thing is that when this road is completed, lots of companies would be opened in this corridor. You will get job opportunities from this road when completed. There will be lots of jobs. “The loop will be ready sometime around the third quarter of the year. The road itself will be delivered 100% by the middle of May,” he said.
In another development, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured the people of the State that his Administration would continue to do all it can to make movement of people and goods easy across the State.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun as again assured the people of the State that the first phase of the Agro-Cargo Airport at Illisan-Remo in Ikenne Local Government Area of the State would be ready by May, 2022.
The Governor who gave the assurance while inspecting the project site, said the project conceived in 2007 had all necessary approvals, including the Environmental Impact Assessment, from Aviation regulatory body, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
“This project had been conceived since 2007 and all necessary approvals were gotten in 2008. All the Environment Impart Assessment, all other regulatory assessment have been met 100 percent.
“All we have to do was to brush them up to ensure they meet current realities. This was not the decision that was taken for any other reason except that which is objective”, he explained.
Giving insight on why his administration decided to execute the project, Governor Abiodun said it was base on the economic development agenda of his administration to have a Cargo Airport that would fully compliment the agro value chain investments and activities in the State.
“When the Senate Committee on Aviation came to visit us, we shared with them the business case for this Airport. We reminded them that the two Airports proposals were not initiated by this administration. I told them that the Committee we set up to look into the two Airports concluded unequivocally that this location remind the best and most viable location for the airport.
According to the Governor, ” the entire cargo value chain is on this corridor. You have Oil Palm, Cashew plantations and Green House in Sagamu and multinational companies around here. This is the centre where items for export are evaluated and approved for export. So with a Cargo Airport here, it is very convenient to move them”.
He disclosed that the State bidded for the African Development Bank’s Special Processing Zone, where in the bid document, the location was chosen to co- locate the AZ Processing Zone. He said the area was renamed “an airport city”, because, apart from the airport and processing zone, the area has factories that would turn raw materials to finished goods for export.
The Governor opined that it was important for an airport to have access to good road network, adding that the airport was bound by Sagamu- Benin and Lagos-Ibadan expressways, as well as gas pipelines parallel to the expressways.
Governor Abiodun maintained that the airport sited on a 500 hectares of land was also part of the administration’s key enablar, adding that work was ongoing on the 2.4 kilometers access road to enable movement of equipment to the site, as well as on the 3.4 kilometers runway.
While insisting that his administration would not join issues with people in the pages of newspaper as a result of the project, said he would remain focus on what his administration was set to achieve by meeting all the requirements of good governance.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has stressed the need for the continuous re-evaluation of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reflect its democratic tendencies, where members practice and ensure internal democracy.
Governor Abiodun, who stated this at the APC Constitution Review (South West Stakeholders Meeting) held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, noted that it was time to tinker with the Constitution to make the party more potent and acceptable to the people.
He said, “It is important that we come together to appraise ourselves as members of this great party, and, even look critically at the structure of our party. This will give us the opportunity to evaluate the journey so far. It is a period of self-examination”.
“In doing this, the Constitution of our party is a vital instrument that we must continuously re-evaluate. If we must prove to others that we are true democrats, we must be seen as practising and ensuring internal democracy even within the party”, he said.
The governor opined that there are bound to be disagreements on issues concerning the party, adding however that no matter how tough the disagreement might seem, what matter is the ability of members to resolve misunderstandings, learn from the mistakes, and move forward”.
He said, “At this meeting, therefore, we should be able to resolve all our disagreements and chart a course for the progress of our great party in the South-West”.
On his part, the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gbeyega Oyetola, said the meeting was a response to the growing agitation of members for the reform of the party, adding that it was an opportunity to listen and learn from each other for the progress of the party.
The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on his part, said the southwest zone would constitute a Committee that would present its position to the Review Committee, while urging the Committee to look into the Constitution of the Board of Trustees of the party, mode of conducting primary elections and how to become a delegate.
The former Governor of Ogun State and Chieftain of the Party, Chief Olusegun Osoba, called on the Committee to ensure that internal democracy remains the cardinal principle of the party at all levels.
Chairman of the APC Constitution Review Committee, Prof. Tahir Mamman, assured that the Committee would take into consideration all views generated from the zone.
While emphasizing that a constitution is a grand document that governs the contract between the population and the party, Mammam explained that the leadership of the APC has resolved to review the party’s constitution in such a way that will make it a model, even for other political parties which are still struggling to survive, stressing that this necessitated the need to include the inputs of party men and women at the grassroots.
He noted that a lot of issues have emerged, while some practices have equally been imported into the party since the year 2013 when the party’s constitution was written, hence the need to update it and make it reflect the wishes of every APC member.
“Since the year 2013, when the present Constitution came into being, lots of issues, some gaps have emerged, and also some practices have come on board since the inauguration of the Caretaker Committee which the constitution will want to incorporate into the document”.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Chairman of the party in Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi, noted the need to reshape rhe current Constitution which has been in existence since the formation of the party in 2013, and called on the leaders to look at ways of coming up with a constitution that would make the party much stronger

My sister, ask yourself if you want to spend your life with the guy...not what you like o, what you don't like about him (the smoking and having multiple sexual partners). Also add the fact that he doesn't want to spend his life with you, by asking you to terminate the pregnancy and gaslighting you to make it seem like your idea. When you have these answers, i'm sure what you should do should be evident.
IF you decide to remove the pregnancy and face front, please don't use whatever thing he provides o. Source your own solutions and move on.
An angry father descended heavily on a medical doctor at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, over death of his 15-month-old daughter.
The father reportedly blamed a medical official of the FMC for negligence, saying the toddler who was rushed to the Children Emergency Room (CHER) of the facility last Friday, wouldn’t have died if there was proper medical attention.
In a statement, Segun Orisajo, FMC’s Head of Public Relations and Information, said on learning of the daughter’s death, the father of the baby threw caution to the wind, beating the official to the pulp.
He said the enraged father hit the doctor on the head several times with a chair before help could come his way.
Orisajo did not disclose the identities of the aggrieved father and the medical staff.
He said the baby had a history of severe fever of one month, weight loss of one month, irritability, and loss of head control.
He explained that the baby was immediately taken in and necessary medical attention commenced.
Orisajo said, “On complaints by the parents that they were financially challenged, the management waived all the laboratory investigation bills as well as emergency medications.
“However, at about 12 midnight the baby passed on barely four hours after arriving the Centre. On hearing about the death of his daughter, her father threw caution to the wind and beat to a pulp the Medical staff who attended to his daughter, citing delay in treatment.
“The enraged man hit the doctor on the head several times with a chair before help could come his way.”
Orisajo quoted the Medical Director of the FMC, Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu, to have sympathized with the bereaved family, attributing the loss of the toddler to the late response of the family.
“Something should have told the parents that keeping a baby that was loosing weight with a sustained high temperature at home for a whole month was a dangerous thing to do by any parent.
“No doubt, we tried our best to save the toddler’s life although the situation would have been a different one if she had presented early,” the MD was quoted to have said.
Musa-Olomu said the latest attack would be the fourth on his staff in recent times.
He, therefore, warned in strong terms that henceforth, the law would be allowed to take its full course on any one caught assaulting or with the intention to assault any of his staff.
