Investment / Re: How My Younger Sister Got Scammed Of ₦1 Million Crypto Fraud! by Oritna94(m): 7:36pm On Feb 23, 2022
PlanktonX:

Is it the crypto that scammed her or the people she know not, that she gave N1m to.

It is foolishness when you trust unknown person with a borrowed cash.

When you call crypto scam, what about the way the fraudsters are dealing ruthlessly with POS operators.

Grow up, th world is almost fully digital. While you are still talking about crypto, the world is already on Metaverse and virtual world, NFT etc. Maybe you are keeping your money in the piggy box in this age.

Thank you my brother, the crypto space keeps on evolving. It seems hard to even keep up to what is happening in the crypto space. I am jejely making my cool cash from passive earnings in genuine crypto projects

They played on your sister's ignorance on crypto. You don't invest in anything that you have not done complete research on. There are a lot of scammers in the crypto space. One has to be very careful. All these get rich schemes littered everywhere is a big red flag. Crypto in itself is not scam. I am into crypto for years now and I have seen the good bad and ugly of crypto. Despite all the ups and downs I am making money passively in crypto. All you have to do is a complete research on what you want to invest in. Don't be greedy. Use funds that you can afford to loose. My little 2 cents

as much as you are right, remember, if your parents vouch for the r/ship, it aint considered a crime any longer...thats why 100s of thousands of adult male mormons are marrying underage preteen girls LEGALLY in the US and/or why a Nigerian Senator could marry a 13yr old.

You are wrong about the Mormons. You are refering to people who broke off from the main church. They are called reformed Church of Jesus Christ. Get your facts right

Celebrities / Re: Lady Begs To Follow Mayorkun Home From Abia State by Oritna94(m): 8:11pm On Jan 02, 2022
Plantiff:
Celebrity worship syndrome is becoming an epidemic in Africa and it seems as though Nigeria is its epicentre.

The bulk of Nairaland members will criticize her but they aren't different. It is because the majority are part of the whole and complicit in this negative cultural evolution that we have stories of bad influences, like Tonto Dike brushing her teeth or Mrs Regina Nwoko taking air transport, grace the front page of Nigeria's biggest forum.

It gets worse when the media amplifies their nuisance. It pushes more black children to believe that drugs, fraud, sex trading and entertainment are the only ways out of poverty and this belief correlates with the neglect of science, which inspires innovations , nation building , economic development and civilization that are prevalent everywhere else but sub-saharan Africa.

There are way more Nigerian children and teenagers who know that the ghetto musician, Portable, was gifted an old Range Rover this past day than those who know that the under-30 Nigerian founders of paystack sold the startup for $200 million (US Dollars) this year grin

More Nigerian kids therefore aspire to be like Portable instead of the Paystack founders because of celebrity worship syndrome.
You couldn't have said it any better. So so true.
