Car TalkRe: Hyundai Genesis Vs Cadillac CTS (PICTURE) by oseo1(m): 3:00am On Oct 13, 2014
Oh and by the way the CTS is rated as the second best midsize luxury car by caranddriver, in first was the audi a6. The Genesis came is 8th. I will give hyundai credit they have really improved the Genesis line.

I doubt that you will find any ranking of mid size luxury cars where you will see the genesis ranked above the CTS. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Fulaman198:
When i studied in America I owned 2 American cars, one was a 1989 Ford Taurus, the other was a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am. Keep in mind that Pontiac is no longer around too. Both had mass issues. My Taurus leaked out power steering fluid and so many things rusted out ROFLLLL. The car had very low mileage too. American cars are garbage.
It's quite unfair to judge all American cars base on your experience with 2 (probably used forgive me if I'm wrong) cars. I have owned 4 American cars, a 96 chrysler lhs a 97 dodge intrepid, a 2002 intrepid and a 2005 impala. None of which gave me any problems, I got the 97 intrepid with 80k miles on it and drove it till it had 170k on the odometer. I did not have ANY issues with the car except the heater switch broke and so it was stuck on full blast, other than that it was just routine maintenance. The only car I will admit wasn't great was the 2001 intrepid, it had an aluminium block and when I got it the head gasket was blown. I thought it was something I could fix but turns out the 2.7 engine was a lemon so I just ended up selling it.

I have also owned a Mercedes e320, and a Honda element. The most reliable of all the cars I have owned if probably the 97 intrepid.

In 2011 my brother got a hyundai accent as an official car, brand new off the lot, in the time since then the car has had more issues than I've had with any of my cars. Within the first 6 months the shocks went out, the rotors were done too. Even the cabin air filter didn't last up to 6 months. The car has had issue after issue, it was so bad that they considered going back to his old Chevy official car. While I agree this is probably not typical I have heard more complaints from hyundai and KIA owners than from owners of any other brand that was bought brand new.

Oliseh or finidi, they both have excellent football minds
Car TalkRe: Hyundai Genesis Vs Cadillac CTS (PICTURE) by oseo1(m): 6:27pm On Oct 12, 2014
What world do you live in? Why do you think hyundai and KIA are both so cheap and have no resale value? Do your research sir.
Car TalkRe: Hyundai Genesis Vs Cadillac CTS (PICTURE) by oseo1(m): 2:09pm On Oct 12, 2014
The Cadillac is the better car and will appeal to the regular luxury car buyer more, while the hyundai will appeal to the young guy who wants a luxury car hut can't afford the price tag of a traditional luxury car.
Car TalkRe: Hyundai Genesis Vs Cadillac CTS (PICTURE) by oseo1(m): 10:16pm On Oct 11, 2014
Fulaman198:
The Genesis is more premium and can take on the like of the BMW 5-series and Lexus GS, and the Mercedes E-Class.
The base genesis may be better equipped than the base CTS however Cadillac is a luxury brand and hyundai is a long long way from getting there. The resale value of a car is an easy way to know how the car is perceived and the hyundai has no where near the resale value of the caddy.

The caddy is wayyyy more durable and the interior is a mile ahead. The leather is softer, all the panels in the caddy are leather wrapped as well so they feel better and more expensive.
Car TalkRe: Don't Drive A Recalled Car. by oseo1(m): 12:57am On Oct 05, 2014
Sorry but this is a very naive post, every car manufacturer has recalls, there is almost no car you buy that will not have a recall at some point or another. What you should do in that event is just go to the dealership of the car in question and get it fixed. For example if you have a Toyota Camry that was recalled take it to toyota and they can fix the service item for you.

Also to say that hiace buses made up 48 percent of bus crashes in Nigeria doesn't tell the whole story because the hiace is the bus of choice for the vast majority of transportation companies. I dare say up to 90% of them use hiace buses, so if only 48% of the crashes are involving the Hiace then they are outperforming their competition by a very wide margin.
Car TalkRe: Fg To Launch Federal Auto Mortgage Scheme In October - Aganga by oseo1(m): 12:46am On Oct 05, 2014
Most big companies already have auto policies and can help you get financing for your car. You can even go to the bank directly, what this policy does though is that it reduces the interest rate and increases the time you have to pay back the loan.
PoliticsRe: FG To Sign $7 Billion Contract For Mambila Power Plant This Month!! by oseo1(m): 2:08am On Oct 04, 2014
arresa: The question is, why are you spending $7 billion on a non dependable and inefficient energy source instead of cheaper and dependable gas fired plants?

With Saudi Arabia spending $2.5 billion on a 4,000 MW gas fired power plant, that $7 billion can build 4,000 X 2 or even X 3 = 8,000 - 10,000 MW here in Nigeria...and we even have more than enough gas to make it happen and dependable with zero downtime or low water level risk.

Again, stop deceiving yourself. Your government is not know for common sense and prudence.
If managed well hydroelectric power can be just as stable as gas, hydroelectric power has very little environmental impact. Some on this topic have advocated for coal plants when the world is moving away from that. We need to build sustainable, economical and environmentally friendly power plants. Like someone said hydroelectric plants should be our base power plants. Hydroelectric power plants require about one-third/fourth the running costs of gas plants, so yes initial cost is high but running costs are waaaaay lower and seeing as you plan to run for long it will be more economical and cheaper for the average Nigerian. Gas plants are the cheapest to build but by far the most expensive to operate.
Car TalkRe: My Back Passengers Seat Foothold (floor) Always Soaked!!! Pls Help!!p by oseo1(m): 12:26am On Oct 03, 2014
I believe it's either a missing drain plug or the floor has corroded so you have a couple holes in the back.

lomomike: That's not an AMG badge Gelandewagen. AMG badge variants have a chrome type bull guard on their front fascia. That's a 2014 merc Gelandewagen Non AMG trim.
One of the first ways to identify the G63/65 is the big air inlets in the bumper (I agree that you can get the G500/550 modded to look like this) however if you look at the grill you will see the dual chrome lines running through the middle, also if you look at the wheels those are the AMG wheels not the standard 18" 5 spoke wheels you get on the non AMG variants. Lastly if you look closely at the trim on the side you can see where AMG is written.

Oh and some people mod their G63/65 and remove the bull guard in favor of bumper guards as you see in the picture.

You can buy a splash screen it's similar to a sieve you put it like a cover on the pan but it's seethrough so you can see what's happening.
Car TalkRe: Top 9 Extinct Car Brands by oseo1(m): 2:51pm On Oct 01, 2014
azpekuliar: There was the Daewoo Espero too. As kids not a few boys my age dreamt of owning one of those 2 cars in the future.

@Topic, some other mentions include, Datsun, Isuzu (who remembers the Isuzu Tiger?)
In the heavy trucks category, Bedford vehicles.
Datsun is actually in Nissan brand and they revived that arm last year for the Indonesian, Chinese, Indian and Russian markets. Isuzu is actually still producing as well.
Car TalkRe: 2015 Mercedes Benz Vs BMW X6 2015 (PICTURES) by oseo1(m): 2:35pm On Oct 01, 2014
yungboss: hmm, what car channel on BBM do you see? what do you read? alot of celebrity gists and lifestyles and wealth of entertainers? What has True wealth got to do with the Power of a 2014 Toyota Land cruiser or a 2014 Honda Accord for instance? Which Toyota is made of Plastic? I'll say again that you should do a survey amongst the wealthy and make your own findings, not restricted to celebrities please (I know that Dangote, Wale Adenuga, Tony Elemelu, Emiefele all drive the Prado Land Cruiser and those vehicles are not the most powerful) it appears you know so much about that 2015 Merc in the pic above.
I though you would do a proper research before commenting again instead of telling us that you only know little about cars (that's what your comments imply). The key to understanding is an open mind. Read Read and Read...many atimes, our analyses represent a one off assessment or subjected to our impression (maybe assumption) Understanding has alot to do with some sort of 'continuum' I.e, following the stream of education, progressing the mind along with the substance of understanding rather than just darting into subjects.
e.g, if i know how to operate the excel sheet on the basis of daily application in my confinement, i wouldn't standing shoulder to shoulder with one who went to school to study the excel sheet for 4years...or I know how to bleed the cooling system of my car doesn't qualify me to present issues in a way as an authority especially worse when i don't know that the system is made of plastic and the amount of coolant or type i need to use etc. Why is because when the chips are down, I'll become a laughing stock, or an object of ridicule. I have a colleague who thinks he drives a German car because he has a Volvo XC90 AWD,2007 or so...
don't get me wrong I'm not comparing you with anyone, in summary what I'm saying is open your mind up to understanding before anything else, almost everything you posted is faulty (wrt your view about Toyota and Honda) because most wealthy people have Mercedes and they have Toyota, most have BMWs and most have Honda, they have Audis and Bentleys, they have Ford cars etc...alot of Rich people have the environmentally friendly Toyota Prius...
Actually Tony Elumelu goes around in a 7 series bmw.
What you all fail to realize is that you are comparing a concept car to one that's already on the streets, by the time the Benz comes out it most likely will not have everything you see here or listed in its spec sheet.

FamilyRe: Is Marriage A Measure Of Success In Life? by oseo1(m): 10:39am On Oct 01, 2014
Getting married is easy, anyone can marry, it's how happy you are at the end of the day that matters, for some people they have money and success in their careers but do not feel fulfilled, for others they are married but do not have fulfilling careers, at the end of the day neither of them feels successful so I think success should be measured on an individual level. We are all different and have different motivations in life, so what's good for the goose might not be good for the gander.

With that said I do not think everyone should get married just because society says so, know what works for you and live your life accordingly.
PoliticsRe: Defence Headquarter Declares Airforce Alpha Jet Missing by oseo1(m): 12:59am On Sep 15, 2014
Ignorance is not good sha, first of all it is damn near impossible to hijack a fighter jet. You can shoot it down or something along those lines but not hijack except it was handed over. Then again to hand over you will need somewhere to land the jet. And last i checked boko haram doesn't have any runways to land it on so my guess is that it was either shot down or crash landed due to some malfunction or the other.

It could be the G63 or the G65 in the picture( because of AMG bumper) but the light will fit and current G wagon.
Car TalkRe: Help My Element Is Sick!!! by oseo1(op): 10:23am On Aug 18, 2014
Ok so I checked the speed sensor and it was ok, j scanned the and the only flag it threw was for the battery being disconnected so I went ahead and changed the pump and filter. the filter was filthy so I suspect that's what killed the pump. After changing them I'm running like new. And yes I did it myself.

Next up is to change the back light for the odometer.

Car TalkRe: Help My Element Is Sick!!! by oseo1(op): 4:20pm On Aug 12, 2014
How about the when I go fast, and then it's like there is no gas getting to the engine so I can't accelerate and then it eventually cuts off.
Car TalkHelp My Element Is Sick!!! by oseo1(op): 2:40pm On Aug 12, 2014
Ok so I have an 04 Honda element and I'm having a lil issue with it. When I get in traffic it stalls and then cuts off. The same thing happens if I drive really fast. If I let the car sit for about 15 minutes I'm able to start and drive normally again till I get into traffic or drive fast (above 65mph).

I have my suspicions that it's my fuel pump however I want more opinions on what it could be. Thanks for the help.

MrRhymes101: "it does not have a cure", yet "people r recovering"? Did they eat kola?? Abi they baf with salt water?? i don't knw what to believe in this country anymore........GOD HELP US
Yes it does not have a cure however the human body is amazing, it has its own defence mechanism called your immune system. What happens to most infected people is that before they realise they are infected their immune systems have been battered and deteriorated by the virus, and by dehydration. What the Dr's do is basically assist your immune system, they keep u hydrated, and give you immune system boosters so your body CAN fight.
Car TalkRe: Nigeria OLX Is Full Of Fraudsters Beware (pictures) by oseo1(m): 10:46pm On Aug 07, 2014
Olx has warned the buyers to be careful, if you choose not to heed the warnings then whatever happens is on you. Craigslist in the states has similar problems even with a report button. greedy people will always get scammed period. I have a few things for sale on Olx, some for relatively cheap prices however it doesn't mean it's a scam. I am selling the for a client who moved houses and is selling all the old things (some brand new) for give away prices. Until you know the whole story it is not fair to just generalize that every advert with a cheap price is a scam.
Car TalkRe: First Potential Look At The N1.2million Nigerian Made Cars - Pics by oseo1(m): 4:02am On Dec 31, 2013
The first picture is of a Smart car which is a Daimler AG company, in other words it's produced by Mercedes, and yes it is safe and fun to drive. It may not look like much but it has a good safety rating. Don't judge a book by its cover. However I must say that there is no way we are getting any car in the smart family for 1.2 million nairaland.

Car TalkRe: Honda Element by oseo1(m): 11:06am On Nov 16, 2013
On a scale of one to ten, I would put it at a 7 or 8 it's very very reliable.

The tires tilting in the element is caused by the independent suspension system, from the factory it comes with a slight (-1.5) tilt allegedly to increase the stability of the car. on the bmw I'm not quite sure what causes it.
Car TalkRe: Honda Element by oseo1(m): 4:33am On Nov 08, 2013
Issues I have faced,

1. Rear tires tilt with the top pointing in, this is a very common problem.

2. The cars suspension can get a little noisy and also genuine brake pads are hard to find (but that's a general problem not specific to this car).
