It's an EVOQUE the vogue its a totally different Range Rover. Much bigger and more expensive. The EVOQUE retails for 40-60k the vogue retails for 100k+.
If I remember right Tata just opened up a Range Rover/jaguar assembly plant in china, I wonder if that had anything to do with the knockoff. Oh and also LandWind is already in naija, they have a showroom on oshodi a papa expressway but I think they only have big vehicles for now. |

lomomike: The 2006 QX56 have a curb weight of about 5,600lbs. 5.6L 32valve V8, 315hp, 390ib-ft 5sp A/T.
The 2013 lexus LX570 a 5.7-liter 32 Valve V8, 383hp, 403ib-ft. 6sp A/T, 0-60 mph = 7.4 seconds, Curb Weight: 6,000 lbs.
But let's get the real deal here,
The 2013 Infiniti QX56 5.6-liter 32 Valve V8, 7sp A/T 400hp, 413ib-ft, 0-60mph=6.8seconds, curb weight: 5,595 lbs.
Now, the 2013 Qx56 is faster than your lil sedan and it trounced your LX570 Lol I'm actually driving an lx 570 right now, and forget the 0-60 values it smokes the qx56 any day of the week. I have driven both many many many times. The infiniti does sound great, I prefer the growl to that of the Lexus but that's about it. What year model LX are you doing? Lemme match it up with same year model QX56. |

lomomike: You think armada/qx56 makes noise without movement?
At over 2 tons, any full sized SUV capable of running to 180km/hr is quite fast. Maybe the drivers are the cause but those SUVs moves. Go up north and see how they move, travel from Lagos to Abuja, you'll be surprised to see how those full sized Armada/QX56, mercedes GL, And audi Q7 overtake especially when you're heading towards the Ondo axis from Osun. Compared to the lx570 they barely move. We won't even compare them to the audi or the G wagons |

@ Topic, The V8 power purr, splutter and growl of that monster ARMADA is something FX45 and Toyota sequoia would always be envious of.
Mehn that growl can make someone experience the real ecstasy. The armada/qx56 remind me of the old Peugeots ie. make a lot of noise but barely move. |

saintandsinnerz: Why are you people always wont to blame and criticize every time? Who told you that secret trials are not carried out on some categories of criminals all over the world? UK, U.S, and other advance countries use secret trials especially when the open trial of a person is considered a threat to national security etc. Secret trials are not meant to witch hunt the accused if that is what you are implying by your criticism, but to protect the witnesses and above all for national security. Well said, most people here probably didn't read the article, if they did they would understand the request. In a secret trial basically the court is closed to the public and press usually to protect the identity of witnesses. After the trial some facts, evidence and testimony will be released to the public however witness names will be protected. It is not a violation of anyone's rights, because the prosecution can still cross examine all the witnesses. |

sultaan: I am on I-85 in Atl and those bikes go crazy in the summer months. If you drive down on I-20 around Tuner Hills there are Helmet all over the side of the roads where bikers have fallen and new ones pop up every year.
The areas of I-95 you are talking about are in the frigid regions where the ice cause a lot of cracks in the road, on the same I-95 when you are within the city south of Norfolk you have a lot of lane to play on but outside main city it is 2 lanes limited to 60mph. Now down I-75 to Orlando it is 70mph.There is a reason for the VIR in Virginia and Daytona speedway in Florida because the weather does not mess up the tracks I agree with u to a large extent that it's weather related, but certain states just don't care as much in my opinion, DC roads are horrible, and parts of VA too, funny thing is that they seem to always be doing these endless repairs. |

Homguy: sure! But almost all roads in Nigeria are pot-hole riddled and narrow. Few roads are as wide as that in nigeria,if any. I have been in a car that did 250kmph on lekki Expressway so it's very very doable. sultaan: That is how all highway are in the west, if you are paying a toll you deserve nothing less. No road should have a pothole, it is a defect that must be fixed. Please oh not all roads in the west are like that. If you have driven down I-95 except for in delaware the road is mostly smooth but not perfect. In NY, NJ, DC, and NC the roads are not great. Don't get me wrong they are not like naija roads but they are not like we think they are here. |

It's funny how APC has been blaring the change agenda but they are allowing a man that ruled the nation 30 years ago to come back. Some country presidents were teenagers when he was president first, what has he done to warrant us bringing him back? What does he plan to do differently than last time?
Let us not forget that he was the one that jailed fela basically for daring to speak against the government. Also 9 of his 15 cabinet members were northerners. Why would I trust him to do anything differently. A man that it took years to come out and speak against boko haram.
I know someone who was invited to a recruiting meeting trying to get support for Buhari, the guy hosting the meeting when challenged by someone about Buhari supporting sharia his response was "yes he may have a Muslim agenda but he is better than GEJ"
You can say anything you want about GEJ but no one can say this is the Nigerian government where information is the most available to the public and people are free to challenge anyone in government. You cannot say the same for Buhari. |

CityNG: That's the thing, renting is different from actually owning one and living with i ton a daily basis. I didn't say no one should buy them, I said I can't recommend them for my clients (customer satisfaction is a biggie for me). If a client wants one against my best wishes of course I'll sell him one. The reasons that I don't feel that they are a good match for Nigeria were listed above but they are namely horrendous MPG (for 2014), size on Nigerian roads (yes I saw H1 in Ikoyi), the brand itself and most important of all that there are other better options now. These are just my opinions though and my automotive opinion is why clients choose me (I like to think it is anyways). Lol every full size suv has bag gas mileage though and like I said it's better than the models that are more common here on gas. And on being out dated technology, there is almost nothing you can find in a land cruiser or qx 56 that you can't find in the GMs, they only thing is that they are packaged in a more luxurious way thus the difference in price. I found the qx56 to be quite an unreliable car, in the 3 years that my client owned it I had to replace soon much on the car. Withing the first 4 months the rotors were warped. Apparently it's a common thing for the series. Like I said though it all depends on the client and their specific needs. You should check out the 2015 GM lineup when you get a chance I dare say you will be surprised. |

CityNG: I never said it was a bad car.
Have you owned one?
Guess what, I've owned two of them so I speak from direct experience. They are ridiculous for Nigerian roads. Someone spending $60k is never going to consider a Suburban. No I have not owned one but I rent one for 6 weeks every year. Why do you think they are ridiculous for Nigerian roads? I know 2 people that just took delivery of gms one suburban and one escalade. And thy are both very very happy so far. One of them got the escalade to replace the 2012 qx56. |

Car Talk › Re: The Secret Services’ Best Kept Secret? The Chevrolet Suburban by oseo1(m): 10:01pm On Oct 16, 2014 |
CityNG: I will never recommend this vehicle for my Nigerian clients for the following reasons.
1. It's an outdated technology. 2. It's prohibitively a gas hog. 3. It's size is unwieldy on our narrow streets.
The "Law Enforcement Packaged" ones have special features like quick ratio steering, auxiliary cooling systems, etc making vastly superior to the civilian versions.
Nigerians are best served by purchasing modern compact full sized SUVs such as Honda Pilot, Lexus LX450, etc The suburban is not a bad car and it's not much bigger than the land cruiser or the qx56/80. It's actually better on gas than both of them, however if you are spending $60k on a car gas is probably the least of your worries. Some people have need for the larger size vehicles and if you happen to be one of them it's not a bad option. The 2015 GM lineup is pretty good, they are greatly improved over the 2014 versions. Especially the escalate, it's fantastic. |
Car Talk › Re: My Nissan Murano Key Refuses To Turn by oseo1(m): 1:57pm On Oct 16, 2014 |
It's possible that the cylinder/tumbler of your ignition has lost its configuration or worn down. You can get a panel beater to remove it and reset it to your key.
In the mean time you can stick your key into the shift lock release (a small hole located close to your gear stick, above the letters ie p,r,n,....) and shift it from Park to neutral and push the car out of the way till you can get it to start.
Where are you located?? |
