As investors or as people who seek financial freedom what we all need is to adopt a growth mentality, succcess is not spiritual neither it is God given.

It all starts with the realization that our abilities, skills, finances, status, knowhow is not fixed, that anyone can grow by learning new skills, acquiring usefull information, improving in some way.

The greatest power of all is the ability to learn. Well, this is my opinion.

You rate it 3/10 lol grin

Because everyone is saying it’s very good, you want your opinion to be different .. good for you
You must have mistaken me for a kid, I base my views solely on the factual. Zero originality, the fact that the story line is a poor patchwork from several other sources. Horrible sound effects, just 4 hours and I already had headaches. So far, Bro, 3/10 is too good for it.

I finally got a car for wifey after surpassing 2019 targets, the amount involved would have been bringing in more than a million naira annually but i will be spending about a million naira to maintain the car. the world will now upgrade my family to the status of the car instead of reducing my status as am poorer by a million naira. If i own 10 of such vehicles, then the world will assume am a very wealthy man while am stark broke. Never envy anyone because all man with his cross. There is no ten naira happiness and fifty naira happiness, just be happy because its a choice, always apply law of contentment in your dealings. In summary, no matter what you own, you can never be happier than me.
Yeah, if someone like me could be happy who wouldn't, I usually borrow my sisters husband eldest uncle phone just so I can read and post on nairaland, sometimes I make calls too. I am relativelly wretched but I am still happy and treasure my small life a lot.

Oh, and I hope the new car is not one of those gas guzzlers, in these times of global warming we wouldn't want to add unnecessary co2 and other harmful gasses to the atmosphere, do we? Talking about negative externalities, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Pls, guys don't use my thread to market your bookie. Go and open yours.

Betting is not easy, just like any other venture that involves returns on capital. If you are good at it they will limit you, these bookies love losing bettors and occasional winners to bring in even more losing bettors.

I don't talk my own finish.

It's not bro, you get limited because you win a lot or because you are withdrawing your wins. Which one ? There is a difference.

when you deposit money to a bookie, its no longer yours, its theirs. no matter how u hide, kyc or they limit your bets
What do you mean by "kyc or they limit your bets"?

I refer to a situation where a bettor deposited let's say 20k an doubles every month without withdrawing. In 12 months hypothetically you should have 20 mills in ur account. If you quietly keep at it assuming you could, you are saying they will still limit you, right?

True talk, even big sites like 1xbet does not waste time to limit your bet if you cash out ordinary 1million NGN, but that guy is just floating as na betting, the street rough, you can't hold anyone

When I said most of these Twitter gamblers are fraudsters some people will say I'm hating, I can't post 1.4 odds. grin It is your 2,000 and the 2,000 in assorted currencies from different countries he is looking for. Not forgetting most of these bets are fake promotional tickets.

Real gamblers with huge winnings get their accounts restricted immediately, ask Austino, ask 2dice. NO BOOKIE, not even almighty bet356, will see you cashing out millions and let you be.

PS: N2,000 x 500= N1,000,000 free money.
Bro if you bet huge sums like about 500k per bet and u win usually, do you think someone can hide his activity by not withdrawing even when your account has grown to lets say 20 millions?

Guys, inflation is very scary o.

10 mil in 21 years time will be equivalent to 1 mil today if Nigeria where to maintains a yearly inflation rate of 10%. That is, 10 mil in 2040 will have the same purchasing power as 1 mil today. Here is the math;

10,000,000×(1−0.1)^21 = 1,094,189.8

It is best to setup spare money in a way that it earn some returns no matter how little.

Emefiele has really dealt with people..

You guys dont seems to understand what this thing is doing to the economy sha.

Let me put it in perspective for you.

If you have N2bn and you invest it in Tbills at 14% yield, you will get N280m without lifting a finger..

So why would you create businesses and jobs?

Because of your less than N50m in T Bill's you want interest rates to be high..

T Bill's corrupted everyone and made us lazy..

Some banks just forgot about loans and focused on treasury..

Zenith bank was making N400bn after tax just from T Bill's...

Infact you are more likely to get a loan from Citi Bank than you are from Zenith Bank...

High Interest Rates made your pension managers lazy.

They refused to buy equities just because bills were crazy high..

Now everyone will go and look for alpha..

The smart one are already looking at good stock picks so that when the nearly 1.5 trillion of Pension funds mature come Nov/Dec and flows into Equities they can make some change..

Change is inevitable and change is here..

Let's all get used to it..
Why does the government sell its treasury bill in the first place?

Is the government benefiting from borrowing money from the public or running at a loss?

You mentioned creating jobs, hypothetically, if I create a job or business that returns exactly the same yield as I would have returned from investing in treasury bills, would chosing one way or the other make a difference?

Again, according to the laws of economics (demand and supply) if most people invest in treasury bills the few that invest in businesses will make higher profits. Eventually, treasury bill will not be as profitable and money will shift once again back into businesses. There is no need to force these things, money will always flow where it will make the most returns sooner or later.

The government should concern itself with creating an enabling environment for businesses to flourish and let nature do the rest.

The tanker driver ran away. The car lot owner has no insurance so he entered coma.
Bro, in this case it is advisable to insure. But you sef, I have said it many times here na, if you can't absorb the risk you better protect your self with insurance. While someone who can contain risk would be losing more in the long run if he/she insures.

I didn't come up with the idea myself, I am not smart, I read it in a finance journal and it made alot of sense.

One more thing is that insurance doesn't cover every scenario.

for nnpc work we pay annual premium of 4.2 m that including fidelity guarantee for an estimated annuall carriage of 800m naira at 5.3 per carrier
Sorry, but I don't understand any of this. My simple point is, what you paid in the last 10 years towards insuring your trucks is more than what they paid you as compensation for accidents that occured in that time. Is this correct?

A tanker fell in festac burning a car lot with about 70 cars and no insurance!

The owner is still in coma on hospital bed accruing more loss.

There are unforeseen circumstances that's why people insure.
Does insurance cover the other 70 cars ?

needful:
Insurance is a pool of risk whereby the fortunate helps the unfortunate. They only estimate the risk involved and bill u according to that but then, that is only estimation as unforeseen circumstances will always take precedence. No matter how u see it, is good to have insurance coverage and is not a waste of money.
I am not saying it is bad, it is very good if your loss will severely affect you. But for someone who has a large margin it is indeed a waste of money.
