Deadlytruth:When you switch to a different time frame, the indicator can use the new data to make calculations. For example, I receive daily high, low, open, close, and volume data from Morgan Capital, and I want to analyze the weekly data, I would need to change the time frame like this: Take all of the daily highs for a trading week and consolidate them into one high. Do the same for the daily closes, the daily opens, and the daily volumes. Now I have my weekly time frame ready to be fed to any indicator I want to use. Software does that automatically. |
janga:Wrong! Have you not heard of the concept of time frames and the fractal nature of the markets? As long as you can vary time frames, you can use TA. Candlesticks can be adjusted to represent minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, or even decades. Then, you can apply your TA tools. ![]() |
pluto09:TA is like weather forecasting. Humans have learned to identify major patterns, such as dry and rainy seasons, certain barometer readings, and other indicators, to predict when it is most likely to rain. Similarly, TA uses observable events on the chart to predict future price movements. Just like weather forecasting, TA cannot provide 100% certainty. Hence... , if this happens, then this other thing is likely to happen. ![]() |
thesilentone:You are very correct. I was about to point that out myself. Looking at the volume profile from 2020 to 2022, there is a large volume between 5.8 and 5.5, which is likely where sellers have been queuing up to sell. Beyond 6, I still see some volume from before 2020 that may also want to sell. However, I think if it breaks 5.5 with strength, we may see it go above 7. Let's go! ![]() |
megawealth01:It reminds me of GameStop (GME), which rose from $8 to $483 in a matter of weeks in 2021. It was all over social media at the time. |
Harvestock01:How many companies had access to official rates? Was FTNCOCOA receiving subsidized rates? I would also like to be lectured someday on how removing the subsidy will improve the profits of oil and gas companies like Eterna and Conoil, which were making 10-10 daily, lol. When it is the bears' time, they do their thing. The bulls will always come back, and the cycle will continue. |
megawealth01:Bro, I've been looking for your signature since yesterday, when you asked someone else to check it. ![]() |
YoungBuffet:The euphoria of the new regime is helping the market right now. But, once the dust settles and investors realize that a lot of what is happening is superficial and the underlying problems remain, the market will react accordingly. If we agree that bulls and bears are part of the market, then it is certain that bears will come. The problem is that some stocks have risen almost parabolically, and that is the same way the bears will come. All these stocks that are making 300%, 200%, and 100% in just a few weeks – I hope people are booking profits, because when the bears come, it will be bloody. It may not allow those caught in it to pull out their funds without serious drawdowns. Let me go back to my beer drinking. |
Agbalowomeri:So, if them leave u, you no go fit guess the stock way I dey refer to. Eeh, Doctor abi Prof Agba, the one liner. ![]() |

essentialone:I was talking about Nigeria Breweries. |
essentialone:From looking at the chart, I see sellers waiting to dump at around the 45.3 to 48.3 region. If the price breaks that resistance, then 60 may be possible. |
emmanuelewumi:He wants to run things one last time, maybe. |
locodemy:The next support is @ 1.8. The move from 1.4 to about 1.7 may be smooth, as there was not much volume. From there, the probability of a reversal (rejection) starts to increase with every move up. Let's go! ![]() |
Ginalex:Mcy56 has answered you. Please share any findings ooo. ![]() |

Mcy56:I am not interested in FBNH, but I will buy a few units at around 11.55 just to show you when it happens. lol |
Mcy56:Some of these moneybags act on a whim. They don't reason at our level when moving their money. FBNH was selling below 12 for a very long time, up to one or two months ago. Only for the big investors to remember that FBNH existed at above 18. LOL What I'm saying is that we can play it in the short term and make some money, but I won't keep my hard-earned cash in FBNH long-term at this price, no matter what PaEmma's fundamentals say. ![]() |
bennyflipy:It take three days for you to be able to withdraw your funds. However, I could be mistaken. Mcy56 or Fringel may be able to give you a more accurate answer. ![]() Or sterlingD... ![]() |
emmanuelewumi:There is no need for room for errors. Like any prediction, it either happens or not; it is that simple. Look at Zenithbank, for example. Despite paying regular dividends and showing consistent growth, it has made U-turns several times in the past, almost every year. It has hit 33 before then back to under 20. It has hit 25, 27, 28 at its peak, only to drop below or near 20. It is actually popular among banking stocks. ... that is why you need to add technical analysis (TA) to your repertoire of skill sets. ![]() |
Mcy56:Remember that when someone is increasing their stakes, someone else is reducing theirs. For every buy, there is someone selling, and if that someone is willing to sell loads of it, it doesn't necessarily mean that there is a commensurate increase in fundamental value. I am no expert, but I would prefer a stock that is moving up with little volume. At least we know that the majority agrees that it holds value, and the few who sell want significant returns for giving up their position. ![]() |
Mcy56:FBNH will go back to below 11.50 by June next year, and so will many others. I will remind you of this post. LOL. |
megawealth01:I sight resistance at around 1.8 but it has to beat the one at 1.4 first, good luck bro. ![]() |
locodemy: ![]() Like they did in Q1 and Q2 of last year, abi, and then final result was trash and it lost 30% of its equity. The best time to buy CAVERTON was when it was below 1 naira. |
ogoo4real:CHPLC, CHAMS, RTRBRISCOE, and JAPAULGOLD are short-term plays that can give good returns. Use small money play am o. ![]() |

IYGEAL:You described front-running, which is a type of insider trading. This is illegal because it gives the broker an unfair advantage. |
ogoo4real:Where were you when it was selling at a bargain? Where were you when it was advertised here? Where were you when it was pointed out that insiders were buying? Where were you when Youngbuffet said "No," and some of us said "Yes"? Look at the charts and how far they have moved from there January price, and make your own choice. ![]()

Mfunkynation:Oversold refers to a situation where a security has been sold too much and is likely to rebound. This can happen when there is a lot of selling pressure in the market, or when a security has fallen below its support level. Overbought refers to a situation where a security has been bought too much and is likely to correct. This can happen when there is a lot of buying pressure in the market, or when a security has risen above its resistance level. Here are some of the signs that a security may be oversold or overbought: Volume: When a security is oversold, volume tends to increase as more and more people sell. When a security is overbought, volume tends to decrease as more and more people buy. Price action: When a security is oversold, the price tends to fall sharply. When a security is overbought, the price tends to rise sharply. Relative strength index (RSI): The RSI is a technical indicator that measures the strength of a security's price movement. When the RSI is below 30, it suggests that the security is oversold. When the RSI is above 70, it suggests that the security is overbought. Copied... ![]() |
