Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Bow To Armed Robbers? by OsunOriginal: 11:05pm On Nov 29, 2012
WAM?:
It's called wisdom.

I wouldn't even argue with a fool not to talk about battling with a mad man. What end result am I trying to achieve?
I would discipline a child more for fighting with a drunk friend than for fighting at all.
God can glorify himself through any situation- this is an established fact! No one is asking you to denounce your faith- just a bunch of riffraffs trying to steal a couple of naira abi dollars whichever. Why kill yourself over that?

Having faith may seem foolish but it does not equate to foolishness.
What are you saying? We are not talking about physical combat... We are talking about fighting armed robbers with your holy ghost fire when you are attacked. Or is holy ghost fire empty shout?

i think what this guys is saying is the truth. so i will advice if u knw u dont have that faith plz bow to the robbers but if u do start on Gods word that cant fail and u will see ... Gods angels will
always raise to the occasion ...
They know there is no angel anywhere that will protect them - hence, they wont listen to your advice asking them to commit suicide.

CrazyMan: I bet if this thread was against islam, half of the posts here would be hidden and the posters banned.
Because Seun is a muslim abi?

You see, christianity is a joke and that is why it appears to be the association/religion that people joke about the most.

Imagine someone sweating shouting holy ghost fire against an imaginary enemy and when the real enemy (like armed robber) comes, he couldn't do anything but only to bow down and keep quiet.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Bow To Armed Robbers? by OsunOriginal:
TroGunn: Only an ignorant Christian will struggle with an armed thief just so as to protect his material things. Materials things are not worth dying for, no matter what some prosperity pastor tells you. On the other hand, a real Christian will stand up against being forced to do something forbidden by God, even if it costs his life.
Why all the noise about holy ghost fire when you know there is nothing like holy ghost fire... Why all the incantations (speaking in tongue) when it is all bullshit...

tpia1: I mean people who genuinely love the lord.

I find 99% of people in these fields tend to be either gaay, muslims, atheists, satanists or any other anti-christian persuasion, and i wondered if there's anybody at all who's a serious christian (not anti -christian christian o) yet works in this career.
Yes, you will hardly see christians in this profession because it has nothing to do with miracle. What you do is what you get - no shortcut. You can't think everything in life is miracle and at the sametime be a programmer - it doesnt work that way. Those people you listed about are the ones now controlling IT and in indirectly the world. Christianity kills brain and makes people lazy...
PoliticsRe: No Nigerian Leader Is Talking About Water by OsunOriginal: 9:34pm On Nov 28, 2012
Ikengawo: I would like to bring it to people's attention that the nation is so used to not having pipe borne or clean water that it's no longer on the discussion table of even the most progressive governors.
I think this is appalling. Building roads will never be as important as provide human beings with water to drink but we're preoccupied with all the wrong things. Sign of bad priorities to the maximum. Food Water Shelter are the first and foremost things a government needs to master and perfect, everything else is a detail.
Go and replay the presidential election debate and pay attention to Buhari's response on health - he was very clear about the need for clean water for Nigerians as a key ingridient for good health.

Dignitary: The way some Igbos (and south south igbos ) talk at times make you wonder why they hate Yoruba's...

Achebe complained that Awolowo stopped Zik from becoming the Premier of Western Region...The new generation of Igbos have now rebranded, they want an Igbo governor !!!

Is this not sickening? This is one of the reasons Igbos are the most hated ethnic stock in Nigeria!!! They think they are the best...How can anyone say the idea of Pat Utomi being made the Lagos ACN candidate in 2015 is a good idea... Is it because he's a Prof or what does he have that no Yoruba man has? The truth is, there are up to 5 better men for every good Igbo man!!!

Give an Igbo man the opportunity to stay in ur village...u will be shocked that in few months, he will be scheming to become the king of that village! How on earth will such people be loved? Even in the UK, there is what is called 'country respect'...an English man that is staying in Wales will experience some difficulties in being accepted politically!!!

Let me say this, an Igbo man cannot be made the gubernatorial candidate of any major party in in 2015 or in the nearest future..For that to happen, a Yoruba man must have been governor of Enugu for 8 years!!! What is the population of Igbo's in Lagos if I may ask? Forget about the noise they make...if all Igbo's vote for a candidate,he can still not win!!!

On ACN and PDP, PDP cannot rule Lagos...it is an impossibility!!! Nairalanders just come here to post thrash...if u read most comments on Nairaland after Fashola cleared Oshodi and demolished many shops, most commentators concluded that Lagosians would vote him out...but what happened ? ACN defeated PDP ruthlessly.

How on earth can anybody in his right senses think Lagosians will vote for GEJ's party? We cannot hate to vote out GEJ and his PDP in 2015
And I tell you, the day Igbos decide to vote against the wish of their host, that will be the begining of their end in Lagos or any SW states. I know they can't even win an LG election in Lagos talkless of gov even if every single Igbo being living in Lagos decide to come together against their host. But what will happen to them after that can only be imagined. I am sure they wont be that stupid... and probably that will be the last time they will ever come out to vote in any general election in SW.
PoliticsRe: Will PDP Win Lagos Come 2015? by OsunOriginal: 9:02pm On Nov 28, 2012
Denn: lets review on logical points only. emotional, tribalistic, political affiliations are on hold ceteris paribus.

ACN is currently and evidently under the reign of Tinubu. this is the common man's perception and its a negative attribute.

ACN lost in ondo state mainly because people saw the candidate as a stooge. the party's image was dented further with Tinubu's statements on funding mimiko with millions of pounds....this did not help at all.

The recent LGA election in Tinubu's own LGA is a clear example of the pattern to expect in 2015.

Fashola's policy whilst favouring the elite in delivery of a cosmopolitan lagos DOES NOT favour the lower income earners. The bulk of the elites and middle class in Nigeria's polity do not vote on election days. they sit back and watch events from their 42 inch LCD screens and munch fried chicken. the premium youths will be on twitter and facebook and Nairaland debating away.....its always the okada men and NURTW guys, the teachers, civil servants and the other bunch that vote en masse.....and they are really pissed with Fashola at the moment.....any alternative will be on point.

ACN will have to fight hard to win even marginally this time around
Where? In Lagos or in Enugu?
PoliticsRe: Will PDP Win Lagos Come 2015? by OsunOriginal: 8:51pm On Nov 28, 2012
Dee60: I think you are missing something. All these are good and Lagos wants development but you dont have to be draconian!
If you want to be lawless and live like animal, go back to Anambra... Simple.

There is no good city in the world where people do just what they like... There will always be laws and coming up with laws to ensure orderliness doesnt make a government draconian. I understand most of us have been living lawless life in our villages and even in Lagos(in the past) - we know most of us will find it difficult but with time, you will get used to it and before you know, it becomes a normal way of life. Will anybody in the US scream about speed limit despite the good wide roads? Will anybody complain when you receive fine for over speeding in the US/Dubai or sent to jail if found drunk and driving? Why do we speak against similar laws here? Because this is a jungle?
PoliticsRe: Will PDP Win Lagos Come 2015? by OsunOriginal: 7:30pm On Nov 28, 2012
lagerwhenindoubt: PDP will LOSE LAGOS in 2015 not because ACN is doing anything to stop them... PDP on a national level is not interested in Lagos.. Majority of PDP Chieftains reside in Lagos and I mean the loaded ones with billions of Naira. they can easily band-up and put Tinubu in a corner but they do not do that. They do not even fight for their fellow PDP politicians who have braved the odds to Contest and earn an electoral Victory against ACN at the courts i.e Ibrahim Babajide Obanikori. they are very docile, selfish and greedy PDP Politicians in Lagos. Florence ITA Giwa sits comfy in her N100+ million mansion in Banana Island, Bode Olajumoke, Capt. Shelle, etc are not doing anything progressive for their party in Lagos State. how can they win when they have already accepted defeat. ACN will win not because people are happy to vote, but because PDP is not interested
You want them to fight when they know they will lose? Waste their money and time in state that insists on good governance?
PoliticsRe: Will PDP Win Lagos Come 2015? by OsunOriginal: 7:24pm On Nov 28, 2012
afam4eva: It's not a matter of PDP being bad. If ACN cannot give the people what they want, they're definitely going to look for alternatives. HUman beings are emotional by nature and they can even give PDP another try.
What does Lagosians want that ACN is not providing? Tell me what PDP at the federal level is doing or have so far achieved. Also tell me a PDP governor that has done better than ACN in Lagos - you are free to even select from SS or SE that receive billions of naira monthly from Fed Gov with less than 1 million population to cater for. If you can govern Lagos successfully like ACN is doing in Lagos, you can surely manage Nigeria as a whole - this is where it happens - talk about security, health, education, roads, orderliness, etc. Yes, we know ACN can do better but again, judging from where we are coming from, ACN has done very well in Lagos - and this will be replicated in other SW states.

PDP of all parties... Bode George to start appointing who governs Lagos. That will never happen - it can only happen in Igbo land, not here. We are sane people and very civilised.
PoliticsRe: Will PDP Win Lagos Come 2015? by OsunOriginal: 7:13pm On Nov 28, 2012
alaoeri: If and only if another party 'll displace PDP from presidency. undecided
You know, to a Igbo man it is Lagos state government that needs to be replaced by another party. Jona/PDP are doing beautifully well in Abuja to an average Amadioha- controlled villager - hence, Jona/PDP doesnt have to be replaced by another party come 2015.

Stupid foooools. When they should all go back home to ensure the Retardeen in Anambra state is not allowed to put his friend in power when he leaves office.
PoliticsRe: N5tn Stolen Under Jonathan –Investigation by OsunOriginal: 9:31pm On Nov 27, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: FACTS are SACRED. History of fuel subsidy payments in Nigeria from 2006 is as follows:
In 2006 the landing cost of fuel was N67 per litre but fuel was sold at subsidized official price of N65 per litre at the pump. Thus govt paid the balance (price differential) of N2 per litre as subsidy, which came to a total subsidy payment of N276 billion RECORDED for that yr.
In 2007, with the price differential still at about N2 per litre, a total of N278 billion was spent on subsidy.
By 2008, with the price differential now about N7 per litre, a total of N633 billion was spent as subsidy.
N421 billion and N673 billion was expended on subsidy in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
NOTE: there was SEVERE nationwide fuel scarcity in 2009 and early parts of 2010 due to short fall in supply.
By 2011, the price differential had risen SHARPLY to N76 per litre (landing cost of N141 per litre minus official pump price of N65) due to escalation of crude oil price. Thus expectedly N2.1 trillion or so was spent on subsidy in 2011.
Note: 2011 was an election year and there was no record of scarcity of fuel all thru the year.
What are you saying? That Jona has done well? Or that there was no scam in the subsidy payment under Jona?

PoliticsRe: Revolution will Consume Religious Leaders by OsunOriginal: 9:07pm On Nov 27, 2012
bigass: Nigeria as a country is dying. Corruption has taken over. The gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. Amidst all these religious leaders are spilling lies to all Nigerians about a better future for the country and the people while they enjoy largess from the corrupt and the poor masses alike. Leading many to believe that God instead of hard work and prudence is the answer to our problems. We all know that the system needs a total change. But we should remember the country's woes is not only by the political leaders but also the religious ones and they should go with the revolution if we ever experience one
So, OBJ is now a social critics - interesting. Who will be deceived by this born (burn) again statements from OBJ?
PoliticsRe: Churches, Mosques Should Pay Tax – Falana by OsunOriginal: 8:38pm On Nov 27, 2012
NNBB2012: Religion organizations are non-profit organization. Why on earth should they be made to pay tax? Even the tax paid by other citizens, what have they done with it? It is the responsibility of the government to provide basic amenities for the people. Whatever religion organizations are doing are mere social responsibilities. So, the argument is baseless. Even in developed world, where things are working, they don't pay tax. As a matter of fact,in one developed country that i'm aware of, you could actually claim certain percentage of your donations made to any religion organization back from government through tax return.
Tell me how many churches are not personally owned? And tell me how these personal businesses called churches are able to buy jets and stretched limo for personal use if they are not making profit? What charity are they into? How many public schools have Oyedepo, Oladepo, Oritsejafor, etc rebuilt? Can you show me a few water systems these billonnaire pastors have built for people in villages across their state and country? How many hospitals providing free medical services do they have in the country (in villages and major towns)?

What is charity? If these people are into charity, do you think they will have enough to buy stretched limo talkless of private jets?

You are a brain-washed idiot...

Bandy10: Another hellish experience for motorists that will ply the Lagos Ibadan expressway during the program.
Exactly my thought... Prayers and annointing that have not positively affected the country... Things are getting worse, country is going down in ranking for corruption, etc. Jonathan was also there for annointing as well and today he has successfully moved the country to the number 1 corrupt country in Africa.

So, what is the shout about all these time wasting, lazy people gathering?

Standing5: Maybe u need to be informed that most private schools provide their own water, Electricity, and Road within their campuses or pay for it when they use the publicly available infrastructure.
You are an illiterate who accidentally got access to internet. So, because the school provides road, electricity and water, they should not pay tax. Do you pay for electricity in your house? You dont have borehole or buy water to drink in your house? The company you work for if you are employed, dont they have generator or pay to PHCN for electricity? They dont have their own way of providing water? Why then does government deduct tax from your/staff salary and your company paying tax to government?
Christianity EtcRe: Churches, Mosques To Report Their Financial Transactions From January by OsunOriginal: 7:43pm On Nov 26, 2012
Omo_Tier1: See the foolishness of some poster rejoicing that churches will be taxed huh How much of the taxes they have collected from you has counted towards the nations development? What make you think same individuals will not end up looting the monies overseas as they have always done? Beside, taxing churches will only make us richer.... A river always flows...
And are we better off with the money in the hands of pastors/churches? What value will their stretched limo and provate jets add to the ordinary man on the street?

Policians can't still all the money - at least they will patch road, etc with some of money even if they only spend 20%.

Mr church business supporter, the money (tax) is better in the hand of politicians than in the of luxury loving pastors/churches and their gullible dumb followers like you.
Christianity EtcRe: Churches, Mosques To Report Their Financial Transactions From January by OsunOriginal: 7:28pm On Nov 26, 2012
Standing5: Don't you think it will be dumb to tax some student through their schools and the proceed used to fund other students education in public schools where admission isn't by merit? Winners Uni as far as i am concerned has nothing to hide. Let our crooked government come out and tell us the average cost that goes into each public school student per year and let's compare it to public school or Winners Uni in particular and you see why Private Schools are Justified.
Shut up dumbo - are you saying those private university where students pay millions of naira per annum are not making profit? What government will tax is the profit they make from their business. And if a church is buying anything that is not for charity, the property or business must be submitted for full taxation and all the people working in such business must also pay their full payee. Otherwise, they risk being locked up.
