You are wrong? Can you show me your analysis and you will see for yourself that you are very wrong? A credible northern candidate (very popular in the north) is what they need to defeat PDP? If the merger works, SW will simply aligns with the North isolating the Igbos and SS. And who will win in such a contest? Or you think SW cares about a southerner ruling? What we want in SW is a strong very credible president.

hubreality: The North is quite desperate to bring power back to the North, but it would be better if they bring out Ribadu or any other person. Bringing out Buhari or El-Rufai will marr the merger.
Who is Ribadu in the North? You think people just go out to vote? And generally who is Ribadu? What does he stand for as a person?
PoliticsRe: Kidnappers Of Okonjo-iweala's Mother Demand $1Billion Ransom by OsunOriginal: 7:28pm On Dec 10, 2012
Jakumo: Anyone who feels inclined to celebrate the abduction of a prominent citizen should bear in mind that Nigerian kidnapping gangs now target university lecturers, doctors, nurses and other hard-working professionals whose services are vital to civilized society, yet whose families stand to be completely impoverished by the extracted ransoms.

Kidnapping cartels demand absurdly huge sums of money from the families of people who are often in no position to raise such large amounts, and increasingly now, hostages are killed by abduction gangs even after ransoms have been paid. The kidnapping epidemic currently sweeping Nigeria could lead to massive capital flight, with investors fleeing to safer West African nations like Ghana.
Will you shut up your mouth if you can't think? What do you mean by prominent citizen? How is the kidnapping of the minister's mother different from other kidnapping cases? Is it not good for the people in government to know what ordinary Nigerians are facing when they have refused to discharge their duties as enstrined in the constitution of the country? "The primary responsibility of government shall be the security of life and properties of Nigerians". Do we have this today in Nigeria? She should go and negotiate with the kidnappers for the release of her mother - afterall bad and irresponsible governance caused all these. The next place of call should be president's family house in Bayelsa.

You dont seem to know anything. The boys know they will negotiation as usual - so, if what the boys want is $50m, they will start with $1Billion and negotiation starts. If they come down from 1B to 50m, wont the minister sees this as a favor and quickly pay?

All these do nothing 40 years olds can come here and call some one illiterate? wow!!

When corruption was eating up Nigeria, where were you fools? why didn't y'all take to the streets and demand change?

Buhari is an illiterate yet he managed our economy more than the PHD holder we have now? You people are really incorrigible and ignorant!
That is a Igbo man for you... They always get things wrong and fail to understand basic issue. Those guys are worse than illiterates.

Basically, the civilised South West will isolate the Igbos and put them where they belong going forward. They should not be allowed to talk again in our midst - who born monkey? If a Igbo man wants to be heard, he should go to Anambra - the traders capital.

I have come to know that God does not honour images or statues even if man made it for him. Then why will God manifest his power through a statue? as Christians we live by faith not by sight and not by any image. Satan knows God detest images and idols of any kind so he tries to draw peoples attention once more to these images, and the weak ones will fall for this,
And you saying God made a mistake for putting the brain in your skull? While not go for surgery to remove it and leave the skull empty if you dont want to reason with your wisdom again?

Igbos are talented and gifted. just mark my word
I have seen how brilliant Igbos can be even with their posts on NL. If this is what you call very briliant, then nobody will vote for Igbo as president apart from his fellow Igbos. You guys have not demontrated any briliance anywhere anytime apart from bigotry, selfishness, greed, criminality, etc.

Now, lets assume for a moment that Igbos are the most brilliant in the world, how has that affected the futune of Igbo states in Nigeria? How many of these states that have so far been ruled by Igbos are enviable? Charity they say begins at home. If you can't show your brilliance in your states, where will the brilliance to turn the country around come from? Are you saying you are hiding your brilliance until you are allowed to rule Nigeria?

Igbos can be funny...

cjrane: Gen. Buhari is free to contest in 2015,i fear he will lose again because he has such bad reputation in the south. I had expected Buhari to do some reaching out to the south by taking some golden opportunities that occurred this year. Like the funeral of Ojukwu would have been a diplomatic coup on the strong hold of Jonathan in the east. Imagine if Buhari had visited that family and uttered a few politically correct statements.Like I disagreed with the method Ojukwu chose to fight for his people, but he surely was a freedom fighter for his people. The strategy of hoping on creating rancor between the SE,SW and SS in order to make them vote against themselves isn't a very reliable strategy for victory.
Buhari is more a soldier than politician,so he would always lose in any free and fair election because he does not know how to dabble into his opponents power base and try to win a few followers outside the far north. Sad but its true.
When has reaching out to Igbos implies reaching out to the South? Buhari will reach out to the West, East and South but do I care if he comes to Osun State to campaign? Of course no. We are the one that needs him, not the other way round. As a contestant, he will campaign as much as he can - he will form alliance where it makes sense. If I may ask you, who is the loser here? If you have a good leader, everybody will feel the impact. If you have looters as leaders, everybody feels the negative impact of lack of infrastructure, in adequate healthcare, power problem, rotten aducation system, etc. GEJ can afford to take is children out of the country to study and even to live but can you? So, who is the loser? You or the contestant?

Like I have been saying, focus should be to isolate Igbos and put them where they belong - they can't separate what is good from what is bad. Therefore, they should not be allowed to make noise in the midst of sane progressive people. Come 2015, this is what will happen - patroitic Nigerians will come together to chase out the PDP - North and West. Let Igbos give all the votes (100% as they did in 2011) from SE to Jonathan/PDP. West is a progressive region - we constantly evaluate and vote base on that. That is why power changes hand here in the West very easily when we notice non-performance.

Gbawe: Thank you !!! How will Nigeria ever improve if its young folks are blind, self-destructive and unambitious supporters of mediocrity? Is it that Nigerians are now brutalised and brainwashed to the point they cannot reason beyond petty clannishness? Even the article, a rather neutral one, makes it clear that more nations were judged in 2011 than in 2012. To a logical person, able to think critically, then it is clear Nigeria may even have shown a worse rating than 2011 because if the six Nation not included in 2012 all ended up above Nigeria then we would be worse off than in 2011. The issue is that GEJ fans do not have anything tangible or genuinely transformational to celebrate so they thrive on half-truths and 'grey areas' they can manipulate with propagandist zeal to attempt make pseudo-positive points that do not exists.

They can fool some here, but will never get beyond the bright folks who can do research in seconds. In 2011 when 182 Countries were rated, 33 Countries remained below Nigeria. In 2012 when 174 Countries are rated 33 Countries still remained below Nigeria. What is the improvement those happy to celebrate idiocy are jubilating? Some should check to see that Togo, on par with us in 2011, has moved 9 places above us now. Russia on par with us in 2011 has moved above us today. Timor-leste on par with us in 2011 has moved a whole 21 places above us. Kenya, several places below us in 2011, is now equal to Nigeria. Uganda, several places below us in 2011, are now above us !!!

What is wrong with Nigeria and what manner of unique brainwashing is our nation cursed with that so many can automatically come out to defend backwardness and create propaganda over things that damn us negatively and that we should seriously introspect about so our nation can get better? Which sick man gets better when he cannot even admit he is sick let alone agree to take medicine?

Because it is not an easy task to liberate people especially where you have ignorants like you in the midst. The question you should be asking yourself is, why should we continue to be ruled by thugs and hooligans in PDP even when they have been there for more than 12 years and nothing to show for all the wealth and money that acrued to the country. It took only 10 years to build UAE to the global enviable position they have reached today.

An Ex-president in the US (Abraham Lincoln) contested elections at all levels and lost. He contested the presidency and won. Mr Amadioha, the number of time you contested doesn't really matter - it only makes people know you more and also exposes what you stand for. If such people succeed, they are always exceptional in performance because they didn't get their by chance or arrangee but by hardwork.

Afolabs101: It's not so much about northern or eastern unity as it is about having people who are willing to come out and contest. In 2011 we had ribadu, atiku, buhari, dele momodu grin, can't remember who else, oh yeah sarah what's her name, i forget. In 2007, we had buhari for the opposition and Rochas contested for the PDP ticket. He had no support from the Igbos, as everyone just lined up behind OBJ.

I don't remember any recent election where an Igbo candidate has come out to say "I am going to contest" and the major politicians from the region say they are backing him. In 2011, we had the Northern whatever forum that Ciroma was head of and the outcome was a candidate that was to be supported by their region.

Why not set up an Igbo forum that will vote on one candidates to be the candidate of the region. If they do that it will work better than just saying "it's our turn" without working towards the goal.
Even if a Igbo man comes out to contest, who will line up behind Igbo? They know this and the reason they will not come out to contest and inside their mind, they are Biafrans, not Nigerians. The reason they hardly think deeply about what is good for the country politically. Look at the West, we chased out PDP completely from our states - what is happening in the Igbo states - they still have PDP and PDP stooges (like the one in Anambra) running their affair. Igbos, with their loud empty mouth, have not been able to form any formidable opposition in our recent democracy - it is all follow follow and where money will come from. No principle, no nothing...

Nashville: There may not be a South in terms of political ideology but there is a south geographically, and in religion. The general consensus in the West is against Buhari as was evident in the over-whelming support GEJ got in 2011, even though the West voted against PDP in other polls.

I do not think Southern Christians will vote Buhari whichever part of the South. I have a problem more with his military background than his religion. Nigeria does not need administrators, we need leaders and visionaries who can make lasting change and I just cannot see that in Buhari.
You are making a mistake... The west didnt vote for Buhari simply because of the failure of alliance betweeb CPC and ACN, not because of religion. Put in your head today if you dont know, there are more muslims in the West than christains but again religion is not an issue for us here. It is only in Igbo land where even an armed robber will be pastoring a church and claiming to be annointed by his god.
PoliticsRe: Should Buhari Contest For Presidency Again In 2015? by OsunOriginal: 9:18pm On Dec 04, 2012
Nashville: In a opinion he should not. Nigerians have rejected him three times already and I do not think they will accept him a fourth time. As someone said earlier, he already has a bad image especially in the South and he has done little to change it. People just see him as an Islamist and I cant see the justification.

If he truely means well, he should find a credible person within his party or another party to support - someone more electable than him and who carries his vision. Presidency is not about personal ambition, it is about serving the people and if they have rejected you, then you need to accept it and move on.

I also wouldn't vote for him if he contested. Although he says he will fight corruption, I do not think he has a great understanding of 21st century issues. I personally will not support anyone with a military background as I think we have had enough of them. And we have had enough of GEJ too. Let's see
Have Nigerians really rejected or elected anybody? It has all be manipulation - dont deceive yourself into believing that Nigerians rejected or elected someone.

Yes, we know Igbos hates Hausas but is that tantamount to Nigerians rejecting Buhari? Man, you are wrong.

Igbo's perception about him is already bad. Man dont generalize - it is a Igbo thing. An average Igbo man hates the hausas - I dont know why?

Arobam: This article is a tendentious overkill. It was carefully manipulated to confuse issues and mislead people into the thinking that Jonathan is corrupt.
However, the reverse is obviously the case. We have a president who is irrevocably committed to fighting corruption where it matters most.

The writer of this article admitted that SEVERAL PROBES REVEAL MASSIVE CORRUPTION. my question then is, who instituted all these probes and investigations?
Jonathan will go down in history as the president who took giant steps to confront corruption and expose age long corruption in every sector. He inaugurated probes into pension funds, oil sector, Agric fertilizer schemes, etc.

During Jonathan's tenure, oil subsidy thieves are facing trial in court. It has never happened before. Nothing like Ghana must Go bags exchanging hands in NASS from Aso Rock and that is why there is so much executive/legislative face off.

However I am not talking about the modern day miracle by our churches... They abuse the word so much that every magic and abracadabra is called a miracle.

With all the miracle shout, I have not seen any pastor publicly turning water into petrol - we all queue for patrol even during scarcity and paying through their nose for it. Why can't one of them use their miracle to turn water into petrol?

Either

1- Daniel was allergic to cats. In those days, their native doctors used to prescribe cat repellent ointments for them to put aound their houses and on themselves so cats don't come near them. So when Daniel was thrown in the den, the ointment on his body kept the cats away.

Or

2- Daniel was one of the guards of the lions and had bonded with them previously. As one of the guards, he used to bring them food. So they associated Daniel with a caring figure who brings them food. Unlike humans, lions don't bite the hands that feed them.

Or

3- As the lions were domesticated in a den, they have lost the ability to kill in order to feed as their food is always brought to them in form of dead cut up meat. So Daniel didn't look like food.

Or.

4- doG in heaven did it.
You are right. The stupid pastor in Ibadan that tried to play with Lion saying he had power to bind the Lion got shredded into pieces and eaten by the Lion.
