Yea, guys. I missed all the action. Where is the wind going? Is Buhari cleared now of this certificate mess? |
Learn it now: There is Northern Nigeria (like North Korea) And. Southern Nigeria (like South Korea) That's the 2 Nigerias They are different and operate differently: One is progressive, open and pro-freedom of expression, The other is conservative, controlled and repressive One is more pro-west, the other is more pro-arab |
realnaijaa:That was then. Age and retirement appaer to have taken toll. Now he is no more a soldier soldier, but an APC soldier doing hatchet jobs Read more from a member's post here https://www.nairaland.com/2136103/buharis-original-certificate-submitted-army/4#30534474 |
DebateNigeria:Point!!! I observed that. He just mutters what he wishes |
gabriel212:Don't say because you clearly don't know. Yes, Buhari has sold himself to Nigerians as someone ready to fight corruption. But even the one he fought was replete with stories of high-handedness and vindictiveness. Today with issues concerning his wasc, some of us are getting less convinced that he is that "don't dirty" Mr. anti-corruption, when clearly he entered the army on mere recommendation without possessing the basic qualification. He is currently facing at least three court actions bordering on perjury plus forgery. Anyway, emboldened part of your tirade, because you asked, let me provide you but a handful: 1. Ekwueme faced Buhari's tribunal that concluded that he became poorer in office than when he entered. He was jailed anyway. 2. Buhari jailed journalists Ndukar Irabor and Tunde Thompson of the Guardian on stories that were factually true under Decree 4. He had told the Nigerian journalists then that it did not matter whether the story reported was true or not, if his regime did not like it, the writer would go to jail. 3. Ikemba Emeka Ojukwu, returned from 13years exile just a little over a year then was as well locked up in Kiri Kiri Prison. Up till today we are not told what was Ojukwu’s offence. 4. Busari Adelakun died of ulcer because Buhari refused him to be taken out of prison for immediate medical attention. The then Governor of Ogun State,Bisi Onabanjo suffered similar fate which we were told led to his untimely death. 5. Prof. Ambrose Alli also became blind as a result of this false imprisonment. When he died, he had only one undeveloped plot of land to his name. 6.Pa Adekule Ajasin was never the same after his eventual release and remained sickly for the rest of his life. Whe he died, he never had any property anywhere in the world except the one he had built from his sweat as long term teacher and school principal in Owo township When I express concern about the man Buhari< i know what I am talking about. The facts are there for all who care to see |
obynzo:Perfect! Thank you for taking time to explain this. Many of us know, tho. It is just the younger ones on this forum who need to know that it has never been a level play ground in Nigeria. |
Chukwu94:That's your view, ok. That's Nairaland. Ok. But I don't see your reason |
https://www.nairaland.com/2127603/buhari-running-away-debates-must According to the PDP campaign group, “We have been informed that General Buhari and the APC have decided not to participate in the NPAN-CHANNELS Television-organised debate after they had earlier agreed to take part in it. “We had thought that having withdrawn from participating in the debate organised by Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), they would have availed themselves this second platform. “Now that they have also turned their back on this, it is now very clear that General Buhari is incapable of engaging in rigorous live television debates on the issues of governance. It speaks about his intellectual laziness and his loss of touch with contemporary issues of development and statecraft. “We would like to reiterate that the APC has something to shield about General Buhari. https://www.nairaland.com/2134624/disgrace-neighbours-join-boko-haram “It’s a big disgrace for Nigeria. It is now Cameroon and Chad fighting the insurgency more than Nigeria. We will build the capacity and Nigeria should be able to secure its territorial integrity,” Buhari told Reuters. Buhari's cluelessness is legendary Is this his how he hopes to lead this nation? Good thing he will never get the chance to do so. https://www.nairaland.com/2132339/group-supplies-icc-evidence-linking The Northern Coalition for Democracy and Justice said on Thursday in Abuja that it has submitted additional information linking the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to the 2011 post-election violence to the International Criminal Court of Justice at The Hague. The group’s lawyer, Prof. Sluiter Goran, spoke with the officers of the coalition in a video call on Skype, confirming that he had filed the supplementary evidence about 3pm at The Hague. The call was set up during a press conference organised by the officers of the NCD in Abuja. The group insisted that the 2011 post-election violence was not spontaneous “but was orchestrated and the direct result of General Buhari’s inflammatory speeches.” https://www.nairaland.com/2130000/general-buharis-military-government 1. NIGERIA: The Buhari Regime Despite the increased efficiency with which Buhari and his associates tackled the multifaceted national crisis, the regime's inflexibility caused discontent. The latter was the main justification given for the overthrow of Buhari by General Babangida in a palace coup on August 27, 1985, although the personal ambition of Babangida was an important contributing factor. 4. Nigeria: Human Rights Under the Buhari regime military security was the criteria for judicial action, often in the form of military tribunals. The government not only gave the NSO greater powers but also promulgated decrees that directly violated human rights. The most notable were State Security (Detention of Persons) Decree Number 2 of 1984, which empowered the chief of staff at Supreme Headquarters to detain anyone suspected of being a security risk indefinitely without trial (detention was for three months initially, and then renewable), and Decree Number 4, which made the publication of any material considered embarrassing to any government official a punishable offense. Under Decree Number 2, many people considered "enemies" of the government were detained in NSO cells and allegedly tortured. Second Republic government officials, whom the Buhari regime held collectively responsible for the economic mess, were detained without trial or were tried by special military tribunals. At these tribunals, the accused was assumed guilty until proved innocent rather than innocent until proved guilty. Journalists and media organizations were regularly harassed by security agents; organized interest groups whose members dared to criticize the government openly or engage in demonstrations or strikes were proscribed. The most active human rights group in Nigeria in 1990, the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), founded by a group of young lawyers led by Olisa Agbakobe, emerged during the Buhari days. Before its emergence, human rights groups included the local branches of Amnesty International, far less effective than the parent organization, and the Nigeria Council for National Awareness, founded after the assassin Under the Buhari administration, the NSO engaged in widespread abuses of due process, including detention without charge and trial, arrests without pretext, and wiretapping. https://www.nairaland.com/2136103/buharis-original-certificate-submitted-army/4 Obatala7: Shameless akinriade, at his age he lies like a common thief caught pants down. The paper, The Observer, said 42 officers and enlisted men were involved, including two lieutenant colonels and four majors. The plan had been to gun down the Nigerian leader, Gen. Mohammed Buhari, and his ministers while they were watching the independence day parade in Lagos on Oct. 1, the paper said. But the plot was revealed, and the plotters were rounded up and shot in an underground firing range at Ikeja, outside Lagos, it said. KADUNA– Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in the 2011 election, General Mohammadu Buhari, rtd, yesterday identified three types of Boko Haram in the country with the Federal Government topping the list, followed by those he described as criminals who steal and kill Nigerians in the name of religion, with the third group as the original one led by late Muhammed Yusufu. Dear Nairalanders, This thought just occurred to me and I decided to share with you all. We have all enjoyed relative freedom of expression in Nigeria and open forums like Nairaland have been thriving, allowing us, young Nigerians to share and exchange ideas in very many areas. A lot of people have had life changing experience from knowledge gathered from Nairaland. This is true. I for one. As I praise Seun and his group of originators of the forum, as well as we all, the contributors and members of this online community, let's please pay head to below. Nairaland might be shut down. Yes. One of the greatest worries Nigerians have is that no one can fully predict Buhari's style of leadership should he become president. Some say change (@73?), but no concrete proof yet. I, for one, the Buhari I know will clamp down on press and free speech. Please nobody should bother convincing me otherwise. The highest situation possible with Buhari leadership will be a reduction of the freedom we all currently enjoy and sometimes abuse today, without (any) much recourse. We have all been free, just like a bird! Now I am convinced that nairaland will be a target of the administration because of the rich and forever vibrant political section, which truly has operated as a no-holds-barred section. As an instance, Nairaland holds an easy repository of all that has been said about Buhari -nothing hidden, all in multi-media: text passages, written comments of members, audio, video, picture, cartoons and other graphics. For a Buhari, these will not be pleasing. He will pull Nairaland down, mark my word. Let Seun and his system administrators ponder this and devise a fall-back strategy. I submit this in love of Nairaland. I will be showing you in this thread, some the contents of Nairaland that will definitely not sit well with the general should he make it. |
"Against the backdrop of Buhari’s affidavit in court, a military source told Vanguard “That the Army cannot keep anybody’s original certificate because it is the personal property of the owner”, adding that such original certificates were only needed at the point of entry into the service. According to the source, the Military only kept photocopies of credentials of officers and soldiers in their personal files that were in the military secretary’s office. “The original certificate of any officer or soldier is only needed at the point of entry into the service either as a cadet officer entering the Nigerian Defence Academy, or the recruitment officers when interviewing recruits to be sent to the depot for training. That is so, because they are needed to verify what were in the photocopies supplied to them or from the necessary examining bodies.” The source further stated that anybody claiming that his original certificates were with the Military Secretary (Army), had ‘’ulterior motive(s) or something he or she cannot explain.’’ “Let me tell you now, in the Navy, the Navy Secretary, NAVSEC, keeps the documents of all Naval officers and ratings and not their original certificates which is their personal property." "Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, born 17th December 1942 in in Daura, Katsina State, allegedly did not pass his School Certificate examination (WASC) but was favored due to his connection with the then prime minister of Northern Nigeria. Buhari who joined the Nigerian Army in 1962, when he attended the Nigerian Military Training College (in 1964 it was renamed the Nigerian Defence Academy, (NDA)) in Kaduna had to get a note from the late Sarduana of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello. Ahmadu Bello, one time Premier of then Northern Nigeria, wrote a letter to the then director of NDA to admit Buhari into that academy. It was reliably gathered that it was the same Premiere that also got Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida enlisted into the Academy." Meanwhile legal pundits have told elombah.com that if Buhari had lied under oath, he should be arrested immediately and prosecuted for perjury. "If Buhari has no secondary school certificate but tried to pull a fast one by swearing an affidavit to cover up his shortcomings. Lying under oath is a grave offence. It is perjury. Perjury is a grave offence and in a sane society. He should be cooling off in a maximum correctional facility, with his tail in between his legs." splashbaby:U don't check with his course mates. You confirm with the constituted authority. They military board has officially declared that they never keep anybody's original credentials. What the senile korofo vomited in the interview is his recollection of the situation. This is 21st century. Forensics have overtaken oral tradition. Wake up |
You are wrong! Ngasky: |
"And Nigeria with our (poor) record-keeping and filing things into an archive -if we have an archive at all; an archive inhabited by rats and cockroaches. I think it’s an insult. I take it as a personal insult." Sir, that mystic that you generation of military supremacists used to intimidate the whole country has expired and evaporated. This is 21st century. Yes it is an insult that if your great military establishment could not maintain an effective archiving system. What about manuals of sensitive weaponry? What about land title documents. My point is, sir, don't push it to the military board. It has produced what's on file and that is the recommendation of Buhari's principal that he would pass 5 subjects including English and maths. You will be shocked at how much is well preserved in our archives. Truth is that while you were there believing in merit, the proteges of Ahmadu Bello were being smuggled in without question and propelled ahead of you all from South without question. And at Buhari's coup he became the grand commander and his personal file became topmost secrete. And no one dare to question it's content. Better go find your certificate. It's never too late or ask waec to re-issue. They will happily do so and earn small revenue |

I don't know what makes the youngsters on this forum to believe that the postponed elections will favour PDP. If your candidate is popular, he/she will still be in 6weeks time. |
tonyzaks:Let's move from A to B. Leave Gej and his issues awhile. Just say, are you in support of boko haram being uprooted from the soils of Nigeria and environs? |
Why are you deviating? Do you want boko haram killing, kidnapping and looting to continue? Or you want it halted? A new strategy by the fed govt of nigeria to halt it is now in lace and appaers poised to address it. Are you in support of the new effort or are you like Buhari that is criticising it? Declare your stand now, no rambling tonyzaks: |
To DG Amaechi, If your product Buhari is popular, he will still be popular 6weeks from now. What's the fuss about? |
tonyzaks:Not "errand nonsenses" rather say arrant nonsense. Ok, u can skip that. Really. Now say, are u a haramite, or sympathiser like buhari? I'm saying so because you obviously have issue with Nigeria being free of these terrorists threatening our space. |
tonyzaks:No two wars are exactly the same. The simple point is, Nigeria and neighbouring nation states can achieve a lot more progress without Boko haram. Only a foolish leader in Chad, Cameroun, Niger would think, oh, it is their (Nigeria's) problem. There are refugee issues, proliferation and infiltration of arms across the borders and general unrestiveness. Finally, as has been said here, the real benefit of having a cooperation of all the surrounding nations is that boko haram operatives will have nowhere to hide. Not when u push them in Nigeria, they run across boarder to camerooon of Chad. If you have issue with this, please say so. If you are one (a boko hramite), pls say so too And if you are a sympathiser like Buhari also say so. It is ok. Everything s ok on Nairaland |
Sweetlemon:So generals don't have sense? More interested in fame than lives of his fellow countrymen and women? |
Wizlove:
|
tonyzaks:What are talking about? Did you not know that Great Britain is the founder and father of America and Canada (New World) plus Australia and New Zealand. It took the allied forces to liberate Great Britain and all of Europe from Hitler's stranglehold |
Why are your like always trying to reshape Buhari's clear statements? Are you saying he means something and says another or that he's incapable of expressing himself? He says dog and baboon will be soaked with their blood and you make excuses for him despite that many Nigerians including youth corpers on national service got consumed in the inferno he ignited. He says he has wasc and it was with military board, a clear lie that he tendered on oath and now has 3 court cases bordering on perjury and forgery and you defend him. Now he is clearly not happy that Boko Haram is being routed and you are twisting and spinning his very clear communication. tick: |
2n2k:Misplaced priority! Homesteads are being razed, breadwinners' throats being slashed, towns being lost and entire local government being occupied, emirs kidnapped and murdered, army formations routed and armoury confiscated. At what point will you learn that this is no ordinary insurgency? Biafrans didn't get this far and Niger Delta militants were confined to the creeks and waterways. This guy's are taking territory, pushing and heading south, to Atlantic Ocean. This is definitely no time for thinking of biggness Pls I pref the world to see us as small and let our aged mums and dads, farmers and fishermen in remote villages, young girls and women in Chibok and all over remain safe and protected |
Did you see them in Yaba? Military tactics for joint operation take dirrent shapes. It could be, we donate men and engage together (UN peace keepers approach), or I approach from here, you approach from there (allied forces in Iraq) Pangea: |
Rawani:Simpleton calling others simple mind. Even those peace keeping cited, was Nigeria doing it alone? You and your general are paining because your foot soldiers are receiving the heat. More will come. Just wait |
Redoil:Not only that Sir, with due respect. 1.Alhaji Buhari got admitted into the Nigerian army without having waec, the minimum qualification 2. Alhaji Buhari needed English and maths at Waec to be a commissioned officer of Nigerian army, but he got commissioned anyway Alhaji Buhari signifies everything sick about Nigeria as a nation -favouritism, double standard, preferential treatment, born-to-rule, secrecy in officialdom, coup plotting against democratically elected govt, corruption... And mind you that: 1. Alhaji Buhari cannot change @73 2. A leopard cannot change it's spots |
