lagerwhenindoubt: You can confirm that ISN underwent formal training in apprehending kidnappers and robbers? what exactly is the scope of their mandate? what evaluation (present/historical) was done to guarantee that these new stock of security-men do not over-step their boundaries. Let us not try to be emotional about issues that involve the lives of human beings, let us look at this issue realistically. If the Imo state Government did not institute proper framework for training, compensation, logistics, arms and ordinance, funding and expansion, it won't be any different from bakassi boys, OPC and the likes, it is a no-brainer.You will agree with me that good security-men are not just about jumping, running and catching criminals. It entails professional ways of dealing with fellow humans and combating crimes. The idea of having a state security network is not bad. I wouldnt condemn this until I have reasons to. For now am only watching. |
lagerwhenindoubt: I have seen the Sharia Police in Action @ Obalende during a prayer session. The Lagos State Government has instructed all persons engaging in any sort of ceremony, prayer or social activity not to obstruct the road and allow road users safe passage. Guess what, the Sharia Police claim that Allah owns the whole world including Lagos and they have the right not only to turn away road-users during prayers but to also detain them until prayers are completed and even violently harass them.I thought you got a larger mind to comprehend this. OPC are area boys, a military arm of our corrupt SW politicians. Bakassai boys are mere traders trying to protect their own because they were helpless under Orji Uzor Kalu`s administration. Non of these groups were formally trained to combat crime. |
doctokwus: Anoda of dem security outfits to b used to harass, intimidate& subdue political, economic or social opponents.By d way ddnt know traditional rulers were d chief security officers of their areas of jurisdiction,in otherwords, dese demigods are above reproach frm other mortals, except wen dey offend d governor;only in cavemen inhabited locales are such aberrations allowed in a so called democracy. Can you kindly explain to us what you mean by 21st century governance? Maybe you are thinking of hiring Voltron, Superman, Batman etc to secure a state. |
franktolk: I used to work with a bank in Maiduguri 2002 to 2005.after work there are loads of places to go ;GRA,unimaid,Ramat poly, maimalari barracks,Baga road and Baga fish mkt, custom area, london chinki,Lagos street,Bulumkutu area ,Post office is the city centre It was such a beautiful place. Saturdays when am off work I used to tour loads of cities and Villages around Borno,Adamawa,Yobe and even Taraba then.So many things have changed my guy. |
It one of the many ways to dry clean the old man`s image. Femi Lawson was paid to do the job unfortunately the real owners of AASU dont want their name to be used. |
Omen100: last Friday I happened to travel to Okija to attend the funeral of a prominent Igbo son's mother, my mobile police escort said something that surprised me that day, he said people wee blood maiduguri because of the heat, I was like what, you must be kidding me. please who else knows about it?No people dont dont wee blood but something similar to that do happen in Maiduguri during heat. I wonder how people survive in that city because it like the city is not too far from hell. |
mosun_ade: What do you mean no one is using it? that road connects major cities and you say no one is using it. na wa o. Be objective. When I say no one is using them, I mean the traffic is so low compared to any FG road in the South. I dont see any urgency in dualizing those roads when passengers are stranded everyday along Benin/Ore road. See Benin/Ore road below.
|
I dont know why we refuse to practice true federalism/regionalism. It really obvious we dont need same thing at same time. The FG is busy building dualizing this road when there is no one using it when most of the roads in the South are unmotorable. Traffic on Southern roads are too high to be ignored.

Sometimes in November I missed an early flight to Maiduguri. I decided to take another flight (Arik) to Jos so that I can proceed from there and make it same day to Maiduguri not knowing that things are never the way they used to be. Immediately I landed Jos I asked the cab guy to take me to Bauchi park so that I can take a taxi heading to Bauchi since it`s one of the closest city to Maiduguri. The guy replied Oga no try am ooo, time don pass, make e no be your dead body them go carry come back. That was when I knew things had totally gone bad. My flight to Jos is now waste. I had to lodge in a hotel owned by a Christian that day. The next day I set out for Maiduguri. Military check points from Jos to Maiduguri all the way. Most towns/cities were all deserted. No network service as most if not all the telecommunication mast has been blast by the Boko boys. That means is anything happen to us on the road we are on our own. I started making prayers and blaming myself for embarking on this journey. My long throat for money no gree me stay back and enjoy the little I have. I met a an older fellow who happens to be a lawyer who told me all the havoc wrenched on the city. He said most Igbo guys are selling their properties. He even asked me to buy if am interested as properties worth 15m is now about 1.5m or less. ![]() Thank God we arrived Maiduguri safe. Right from Sir Kasim Road to Baga Road, you will notice either two things Military guys or people that look like Boko boys. I had to find my way back South cause my liver failed me this time. Watch out for more pix

Denn: this implies an urgent call to set up a committee whose core duty will be to set up another committee made up of 100 members each from the six geo political zones. this new committee will then discuss on how to beg the erstwhile president jonathan and him wife to consider the plight of the masses and re-contest in 2015. the committee's report and findings is to be reviewed by another committee in all 36 state houses of assembly (another committee will oversee all the bulky reports) and a recommendation will be made to NASS and INEC on that matter.....another committee to be set up to review all the gibberish i just typed to determine if we should still continue with english language as our official means of communication or adopt mandarin since china is reputably having more than 70% input in the average nigerian consumption.Omo you don write sotay you know know wetin you dey write again. ![]() |
One_Naira: Afam4eva you guys do not realize how much impact that word has. Many of the deniers go along the route of "I'm not Igbo" because of that two words. Remember that one statement from obi of owa, he said something like we are stretching our hands to reconnect, it is SE Igbo that are holding back and. refusing to reconnect. I can't remember he's exact words but it is something similar to that. The term "fake igbo" kinda gives the impression that una do not see us as one of you but rather a set of ppl that have no identity and trying to force ourselves onto una. Which sadly, I've witness many SE igbo even the usa born say. Few months ago, i went to a Nigerian gathering. It was mostly delta ppl, one yoruba, the girl from imo state, an onitsha chick and my sister and I. The conservation got into about delta igbo. Exactly the same thing you started a topic on, why are delta igbo not just called igbo. I don't remember what motivated her to say this but all i remember is the edo chick said something and the imo state girl said "well they are not igbo. They call themselves igbo" addressing that word to delta igbo. Sad thing is this girl was born and raised in usa so her mindset shouldn't be like that. Luckily, the onitsha jumped in and corrected her before we did. Yes that word, those two words have a lot of impact. It is idiotic to think like that but what do you except a person to think when you are constantly called fake, wannabe, etc.The other day I was discussing with a young man from Ogwashi-Ukwu who was on an industry attache in my coy.He told me he is not Igbo and I asked him where he came from, he said Delta. I asked where in Delta before he confessed Ogwashi-Uku. I quickly added if you are from Ogwashi-Ukwu it means you are an Igbo man. That was when he opened up to me why he choose to be a Delta man instead of an Igbo. He said he had issues with his Yoruba mates both at home and school. He said he fell in love with a Yoruba girl who is his classmate. He was disgraced the day she took him home. The parents started shouting at her How could you bring Omo-Igbo home as a your husband to be. But the girl tried to explain to them that he is not Omo-Igbo (SE) but a Delta man so that he can be accepted. But the parents insisted that they are all same. This young man has taken another identity so that he can be accepted by other tribes especially Yorubas by claiming he is a Delta man. I had to correct him to defend his ethnicity even if people don`t accept him. By changing his ethnicity wouldnt make people love him the more. I quickly added that a time will come in Nigeria that people will be judged by who they are and not by where they come from. The civil war did lots of damage to the Igbo people. For me Igbo ethnic group comprises of different nations/tribes just like other ethnic group. |
I doubt if they meant what they stated above. In their mind of mind they dont mean what they stated. We know them, it`s all politics. Can an Igbo/other minorities in SS be left to live a normal life in the core North without been harassed. Abeg leave story na today? |

This crap aint necessary. You both aren`t matured. |
Okija_juju: You bother about rigging this flawed election, I will handle my campaign myself.. Thank you!! Your advice isnt needed here.My Dear Alusi Okija, If you have issues with your kinsmen, try as much as you can to sort things in a civilized way than inviting strangers to cause more division. I like the way you handled it last year. You can do better this year. Next year can be your turn. |

joy4dhome: Thank you Uboma.^^^^^ Am sure you will be left with just the shirt and trouser you came back with. |
coogar: if he appeals?Guy calm down now. I believe you know better than this. The majority make laws that govern everybody in a society,no matter how silly the laws might appear to the rest of the world. However, there maybe minority who dont agree with the majority. Unfortunately, our dear friend Okija_Juju ( the Alusi one of NL) is in the minority. He has no choice than to appeal. |
PointB: There is no point nominating Chino, I doubt he will scale the rule. Okija_juje is already disqualified. Kindly pick any other two nominees.I think we should let Okija_Juju to contest this election if he appeals. |
onatisi: i think sanity is finally creeping back into grandpa brains,at least he is not totally naked or wearing gstrings pants like before ,with time he will get normal again.prayers seems to be working. ![]() |
