Only a good and incorruptible military administration can do that and Nigeria has never had one. A military administration is not hindered or limited by civillian bottlenecks. Lawyers will even be scared to perpetrate those evil acts they do to frustrate trials if they were in a military court unlike in a civillian court. This is the luck Ghana had that Nigeria didn t. Ghana had Paul Nkrumah and JJ Rawlings who sanitised the Ghanian system before handing over to civillian govt unlike Nigeria that had OBJ, PMB, IBB, Abdulsalami, Abacha and others. We all know the history of these people, no need to talk about them again. |
This is one reason that the almajari system is almost impossible to eradicate. It won't surprise me to discover the woman and her husband don't have the means to sustain such a large family. This will make the children easy almajari-recruits. |
As I have always said, the members of the Nigerian police force are not matured psychologically and emotionally enough to handle firearms. Withdraw all the firearms from them and give them BATONS. Most of their firearms find themselves in the hand of criminal elements. Our police force don't need arms, only the military does. |
Are u a bishop or pastor? We have seen "men of God" lose elections serially in this country despite claiming as u are doing now, that "God" told them to contest. Stop lying with God, nobody stopped u from contesting, same way nobody isn't stopping u from losing ![]() |
Did u expect something different when "quota system beneficiaries " make up the largest percentage of the members of the agency? Are u surprised why we keep importing even the smallest and less important things? This agency was supposed to be a ground to locally substitute all our imported goods with locally produced ones over time, but they have always failed. |
DonFreshmoney:the brilliant ones neither get nominated nor win any election in Nigeria. Atiku has only diploma, PMB has Nepa Bill, Oshiomole has none. Senator Adeleke failed almost all his subjects. There are so many examples. These people come out first or second in every election while the brilliant ones keeps getting scores too shameful to remember ![]() |
DonFreshmoney:has "begun" |
That is the Nigerian constitution for u . The constitution didn't stipulate that the candidate must either excel or graduate. As long as u are able to present evidence that u stepped your feet into an academic setting as a student, then u are qualified to contest. |
What were they waiting for? |
If u have a "job" and wasn't paid any salary during the lockdown, no matter how small, just know that u are unemployed. Private school teachers should take note too. |
Binikingdowm:He can influence it. It seems u are underestimating how powerful a party chairman is. |
Wole Soyinka and some of us are wiser than Reno Omokri and his group. We knew that Nigeria was in a mess under Gej and we made attempt to change the status quo by voting PMB. Unfortunately, we voted in someone who is either worse or equivalent to Gej. We realised that PMB isn't whom he claimed to be and didn't vote him in the subsequent election. This is unlike Reno and his group who still feel Gej was the best thing that ever happened to Nigeria and they have never compared what the major human indices were before Gej came in and when he left power. We were wise to have voted PMB in 2015 and we are wiser not to have voted him in 2019. |
Binikingdowm:who are we to blame but ourselves. We had somebody from our region who was president for 6 years but did nothing tangible in the region. We have the resources but not the decision makers, what do u expect? Take Oshiomole for example, instead of him to use his office as the national chairman of the ruling party to channel development to the state and region, he is using his position to fight his state governor. Amaechi is using his federal connections to fight Wike, Timipreiye Sylva was using his federal connections to fight Seriaki Dickson. There are so many other examples. How will the region develop? |
Which united nations? The same one that watched while another country, in the name of colonisation, raided more than 50 independent, developing and self-sufficient countries, forcefully brought them under one umbrella and called it Nigeria, and when they have been fully exploited, were left alone to extricate themselves out of the pit of "one country/umbrella" they were forcefully put into. The major powers in the United nations caused most of the problems the so called failed states are facing. Take Nigeria as an example. All the groups that make Nigeria were living independently but were forced to live as one by Britain even when they were not willing to. They did the same thing in India, Rwanda and many other places. They treated Hong Kong like a different country from China and later left them under China and that is the problem China is still facing today. |
If this is true, then it means the FG doesn't know the meaning of "Deregulation". You can't deregulate and still fix price, the market forces do that. FG just reduced the price of petroleum products by a few naira, FG doesn't have that power under a deregulated condition. If the market forces are allowed to fix price according how it currently is in the international market, the price of petrol won't be up to N80. |
SoNature:how did he tackle poverty in his state in his 8years as governor? How many imolites did he remove from poverty?. My comment was just a reminder of What he did as governor and that he should stop being an hypocrite. As for u, if u don't have the capacity of grasping what somebody is saying whether connotatively or denotatively, why not read and move on instead of making mockery of yourself? |
She claims to be a man, the IAAF want her to join men in athletics instead of women and she said NO, that she must race with women . Why will a "male" be racing with females? Who is deceiving who . Men run against men, women run against women, that is the law, she should continue deceiving herself and her likes. |
You want him to investigate what? You think he doesn't know? Nobody will boldly steal govt's fund and pay it into his or her account without strong govt-backup. Why do we have the TSA? If despite TSA this is still happening, then something is wrong somewhere. |
Okorocha the "happiness giver" . He was so desperate to make his people "happy" that he created the "ministry of happiness" and this is what Nigerians want now ![]() |
Very thoughtful and creative illustration. |
9iceprince:in Bayelsa, the screening committee/party leadership knew that the deputy governor had issues with his name but ignored it because he was nominated by Timipreiye Sylva. They knew it will generate issues later but ignored because they felt the judiciary will favour them. They wanted their own person to hold the position whether the person was qualified or not. All these were pre-election issues that could have been resolved if the party leadership had done their home work properly. With respect to Edo state, Adam Oshiomole's candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu has issues with his registration. A member must register from his ward, but he didn't. His membership is hanging. The waiver also granted him is not tenable because it is the duty of his ward leadership to apply for a waiver from the party's NEC but the party's NEC has neither met nor did any ward leadership apply for a waiver on his behalf. If he succeeds in clinching the party's ticket, any other candidate can use these to nullify his election as was done in Bayelsa. |
Most people that use this kind of cap that the commissioner is using, have the same mentality and characteristics, they always feel above the law, they always feel their connections in high places can get them off the hook when they commit crime, they brag about their connections, most of them are thieves and always deny the obvious, they are wayward and promiscuous, greedy. The "sextoy" senator comes to mind, the special adviser to the president who promised to use his connections to free a convicted criminal is another example. Senator Dino is also there and several others. |
Afamed:and u also failed woefully to understand that it is a normal thing for party members to have contrary views and interests but party leadership must always ensure that all the various interest groups must have a compromise or middle ground which has never happened in all the cases I mentioned. Everybody either says absolute "yes" or absolute "no" and at the end of the day, both the "yessers" and the "Noers" will lose everything. |
Why history always repeat itself is simply because human beings don't learn from history. It happened in Zamfara, it happened in River's state, it also happened in Bayelsa. Everything on ground shows that it may happen in Edo state, yet, the APC party leadership does nothing to avert it and when it finally happens, they will blame the judiciary. Wetin be my own sef Na una know. |
Na for old age this guy still dey join small children fight? . Abeg comot hand and mouth from small children matter oooo. |
This is one of the reasons most people feel so indifferent whenever a police officer dies. Some will even openly rejoice , although very wrong, over the death of an officer. Most Nigerians have been hurt or disappointed at critical moments by officers of the Nigerian police. The authorities of the Nigerian police force must take delibrate and concrete efforts at reforming the police force so as to change the current perception Nigerians hold for the police. |
There are times I am at a loss about the party this man belongs to, today he is in PDP aspiring to be governor. Tomorrow he is in APC aspiring for the same thing. The day after tomorrow he is back to PDP. Two days later, he is back to APC. You can't trust people that move with every wave of the wind. |
If it was in Nigeria, the Chinese can even use the Nigerian police and military to oppress other Nigerians and the Nigerian authorities will deny that it never happened. Paul Kagame has always personified how a leader should be, I am not surprised. |
As long as it is the Nigerian security agencies that will enforce a law, that law is bound to fail. Our security agencies are money making ventures, they don't care about any corona virus or any other diseases. That is why I will continue to advise the south west and other regions who are floating security outfits like Amotekun and others, Don't MIX THE POLICE WITH YOUR PERSONNEL else it will fail. Our "Wabai-zigan" in Edo state has failed all because the police was included in the scheme despite Edo people opposing it. |
Cultists should be treated the same way as armed robbers, kidnappers and murderers, these sets of people share everything in common, they steal, rape, kill, maim, destroy and oppress. |
Edo State has boundary with Kogi state. Kogi state is a state that doesn't believe that covid-19 exists and does nothing about it. In saner climes, the Edo govt is supposed to strictly close its borders with Kogi state and ensure that inter-state travel ban is enforced to the core but unfortunately, nothing like that is happening. Edo still relies on the police and other security agencies, which are well known money making agencies, to enforce the interstate travel ban instead of setting up a taskforce to enforce its directives. |
