China has either the largest or second largest GDP in the world and despite that, majority of their people still consume rubbish and the most repulsive and demeaning foods in the world but the world still doesn't call the Chinese people poor all because of their massive GDP. Nigeria with a GDP not as great as that of China doesn't have majority of her people consuming rubbish as they do in China but the world still calls Nigerians very poor. If u are very rich but u don't eat good food, is that not the worst form of poverty. What an irony. |
We should be careful with issues like this, especially when we don't have 100% information concerning the issue at stake. Bill Gates has been in the forefront of developing and providing vaccines for poor and third world countries even when their govts don't care. Most of us are beneficiaries of his kind gestures over the years. Why didn't he allow the people to die then by refusing to provide those vaccines? The issue of "ogbanje" or "abiku" babies disappeared because babies that were dying before, were vaccinated against diseases causing high mortality, through the use of Bill Gates produced vaccines. We don't know the real issues at stake. We should only watch and pray and avoid making ourselves ungrateful and biting the finger that fed us over the years when our govt abandoned and failed us even in the midst of plenty. |
The late Abacha and the late Kim Jong-il of North Korea were two of the most protected leaders but when death came, even the retinue of security personnels couldn't protect them. Personal protection is important but we also need God's protection |
World leaders are spending more on how to destroy the world than how to build and better the world. How unfortunate. |
powerfulguy:don't be deceived by the data coming from Africa, we don't have accurate data. Do u know how many people that have died from the virus whose deaths were not included in the data? Over 300 died in Kano within a week and they kept giving different reasons as the cause of death. Same thing in Bauchi, Kaduna and many other Nigerian states. Also, only few percentage of infected people have been tested in Nigeria and other African countries unlike outside Africa where a lot of tests just keep going on everyday. The same way we don't know the actual population of Nigeria is also how we don't and may never know the actual number of victims of the virus in Nigeria and Africa. |
The major opposition party in Nigeria always work at cross purposes with the ruling party even when the ruling party is carry out laudable policies or programmes. Almajiri issue is one issue I would have loved to see PDP support APC in finding solutions to but unfortunately, they will always want to use every opportunity to show themselves as better alternative. APC would've also done same if they were in oppostion. We need to scrap these parties, they can't help us. |
Tanzania still has over 500 cases of covid-19 and many deaths. If the claim of this doctor, that they helped Tanzania to cure Ebola some years ago was true, why didn't Tanzania call him again in this covid-19 pandemic to help them out? |
This is a big lie. The state govt' s intention was this but the reality still remains that buses now carry 3 passengers at the back, 3 at the middle and 1 at the front. When they see the govt enforcement team, they start begging some passengers to alight from the bus till they pass the enforcement team, where they will be picked up again. |
Nigerians are subsidizing govt by paying expensively for petroleum products even when the price at the international market has crashed to the lowest. Nigerians won't have bothered much about such amounts if the money is going into the right purse for the right courses. Unfortunately, it isn't. It is being used to satisfy greed of a few Nigerians. |
mlkraj:it is better to ignore you. U have a very low ability to understand what is far beyond your capability. |
The reasons are not far fetched. Most blacks don't care about rules and regulations. When govt say stay at home, some blacks won't, either because of sheer stubbornness or quest to make ends meet. Most blacks don't even believe there is corona virus and hence continue to live their normal lives. Also, health insurance in some countries like the USA cover less blacks because most live in the low income group. I read a story about an American who being relocated to ICU and at the point of death was still asking the doctor about who will pay his ICU bills . That is what the world has become. |
Despite the lock-down and ban on meetings involving large number of people, these Oshiomole's people are still meeting. This shows Oshiomole and his group's disdain for constituted authorities and laws. |
Wasting Nigerian tax-payers' money on prosecuting irrelevant cases just to show that u have a little "government power or connection". Some people's brains need reformatting. Funny enough, if other Nigerians should report cases like this to Efcc, they will throw them away as too irrelevant. |
aywhy93:how much is it and location? |
TheGodlessGod:they are coming from kaduna according to the report. Maybe they were looking for more porous checkpoints they can access. The route may have been from kaduna-abuja-kogi-Edo-Ondo. Our security agencies are businessmen, they allow anything and anyone at tge right price. We can't trust them to implement interstate travel ban. |
TheGodlessGod:na wa for u oooo. From your statement, it is obvious that u are not a traveller. Edo state state shares border with Kogi state. Apart from, Ekiti, Ondo and Kwara state, Edo also shares border with the north. |
0m0nnakoda:go and learn English language all over again. U are confused. From my first statement, I said every successive administration is Nigeria has always done worse than their predecessors and I still hold on to my statement. Pmb is worse than Gej, Gej is worse than Yardu'a, Yardu'a is worse than Obj, Obj is worse than Abdulsalaam/ Abacha. If u talk of human rights abuses and extrajudicial killings during Abacha's regime, Obj did same or even worse. Bola Ige the minister of justice and Artorney General was killed during Obj's, several others also. We can't forget the Odi Massacre, the Zaki Biam massacre. |
0m0nnakoda:what was exchange rate as at 1999 and 2007 when obj left power? What was per capita income? What was the life expectancy of an average Nigerian? What was the literacy rate? How much power was being generated to power the economy? What was child mortality rate? What was maternal mortality rate? What was the export-import ratio? How developed were our infrastructure? What was our level of access to quality healthcare? What was our level of food security? What was our manufacturing capacity? U think development is measured through creation of Efcc? Don't present your beer parlour opinion here again. |
People will still eat such crocodile despite human remains being found in its stomach, if it had happened in my country Nigeria. Everything is meat and eatable to some people. |
Anambralstson:I am not from south west, I only did my NYSC in Southwest some years ago, I am from South-south, u are very childish with your opinion. Most of u resort to insults when u have nothing meaningful to say |
They would have given long ago. The problem is that the graphic designers and printers are still producing what they will use to identify them as the giver of the palliatives. What ever bag of rice u see now carrys sticker. Bag of beans, garri, indomie, nose masks, hand sanitizers and others also carry political stickers. Nigerian politicians must use every means to do adverts of themselves ![]() |
It is very hard to pick. Every successive Nigerian president has always succeeded in taking the country into deeper mess. For those saying Obj was the best, compare how Obj met the country in 1999 and how he left it in 2007, it was in a mess. The song "Nigeria jaga-jaga by Idris Abdulkareem gives a summary of how Nigeria was during Obj's rule. For those saying Gej, also compare all economic indices in 2011 and by 2015, it was also a mess. When PMB took over from Shehu Shagari and when IBB overthrew him, the country was in a mess. Compare when PMB took over in 2015 and now, bigger mess. With Yardua, I can still remember the "7 point agenda". None of the items on the 7-point agenda was fulfilled. I can still remember Nigerians crying for Yardua to focus on one or two items on his list instead of not doing anything on that list. For those condemning my opinion, study how most other civilised countries are being governed and draw your conclusion. |
nairavsdollars:check some of the things that the southwest got through these alliances: 1. The president position from 19999-2007. 2. The Vice-presidential slot since 2015-date 3. The Ibadan-express road keep gulping billions of dollars even when we can't easily still access Abuja from Edo state without swimming through mud. 4. The Lagos-Ibadan rail even when the rail passing through Gej's village is only still on paper form. 5. Lagos ports keeps overflowing when calabar ports, warri ports, Onitsha ports and other ports are overrun with grasses. 6. Dangote is building the largest refinery in South west even when south-south is the major oil producing region in Nigeria. This came as a result of FG's incentives and policies encouraging investments in southwest by major industries. 7. Many top juicy political appointments keep falling in the hands of southwesterners, even those with forged NYSC certificates and those without academic qualifications. These are just few. South west has always benefitted from their alliances with the north. |
Keep deceiving yourself. Most top Nigerian politicians don't use the normal banks, they launder money using shell companies and countries where they will be difficult to trace or retrieve them. |
What about south-south? In OP's mind, when the north, south east and South West occupy major positions politically and economically, Nigeria will be balanced. As somebody already said, it is very obvious where OP came from. South south has contributed far more than south east in every political dispensation and deserve far more than south east any vacant political or economic positions. |
There are many rich Nigerian politicians whose names are supposed to be on forbes list but because they don't have any business history apart from "govt", their names keeps missing. There are many who are richer than Otedola, Adenuga in this country. All past and present Presidents of Nigeria are each worth at least $2billion dollars, forget their pretense. |
Every contribution is needed to fight the virus. |
Not still up to what our politicians take as hazard and newspaper allowances. Commendable though. |
Nobody knew that Gej was a pretender and we all got deceived because he claimed to "have no shoes". Nobody also knew that PMB is also a pretender because he claimed to have nothing and even took loan to buy his party form. The questions now are- how do will know pretenders? How do will know potential looters even before election? |
wingmanIII:why won't somebody not be scared when u hear of a single drug curing all ailments known and unknown to man, spiritual and non-spiritual irrespective of age. Even the most advanced science can't explain the possibility of what these herbalists claim. |
