The reason why I don't give them is due to the way they treat people at times. They can rubbish you for a big car that might be driven by a messenger

1. People from all over the world are the ones admitting to this themselves. undecided

2. They don't want to do that because they are banking on you being intelligent enough to educate yourself on the reasons for the tipping culture and to voluntarily give what you are most comfortable with between 15% and 20%.
Between 15 and 20 %?
Anything that has a benchmark is no longer voluntary.
Tipping should be voluntary, but when you placed a cap, then you make it involuntary which is not proper.
Travel › Re: World Cup Fans Frustrated By 'confusing And Expensive' Tipping Culture In US by Pacesetter123(m): 8:58am On Jun 29
OlujobaSamuel:
No, there is a tipping system in the US which is different from other nations. Customer's are expected to tip service providers, especially those within the minimum wage bracket or below, and such tips are factored into their total income. If it doesn't meet up with the minimum wage, employers are expected to pay the difference.
Most of the time, the claim is that customers are only charged for the product the company is offering, that services in giving you such product isn't included in the charge.
Eg, on Uber, you can tip a driver at the end of a trip, some drivers will even demand for it which is legitimate in their system. For instance, you are carrying excess luggage, or lot's of items, the driver uses about 5 to 10mins extra just to pick you up, that's a service not included in the fare, it is expected that you tip for it. Here, the driver will negotiate the ride instead of waiting for the tip.
You entered a restaurant in a place like VI, there is every tendency that the waiters are paid minimum wage which can't get any accommodation around, so they have to travel from outskirts to serve you, as no one that is comfortable enough to rent an apartment in such area is willing to do such job, the tipping system expects that you appreciate their coming to such location to serve you, even though you are paying for the product (meal) already.
The system is used to protect small businesses so they can break even by having enough hands to meet demand without having to use all funds for salary apym6
Then if there is this kind of understanding about tipping system even in developed nation like the US,why do we always make it look as if it is a Nigeria thing?
People go to media houses or make videos and post in social media to castigate Airport workers, police on checkpoint, supermarket and hotel securities and bar Waiters for being notorious for "Corporate Begging".
They try to make us know that such "bad" culture can never never be seen in saner climes.
So,is the US or Canada no longer saner climes?
Though I don't support a culture of making tippings look compulsory or be like a constitutional rights that you must give for services provided, but I think it is appropriate to "appreciate" some lowly paid workers in some corporate environments VOLUNTARILY for services rendered to you.
I went to a supermarket for my weekend stuff last week,I picked a basket and was going round to pick stuff. One of the staff there,a young lady, just walked up to me and said, Sir,let me help you with the basket.
She carried the basket and followed me around the supermarket till I finished picking what I wanted and she took it to the counter.
I finished paying, she greeted me bye without asking for anything.
I was the one,out of appreciation ,who called her and voluntarily gifted her something.Cos to me,she deserves it.

So my point is that,as from today that I am hearing this news, nobody should make corporate begging a Nigerian thing again.
If any staff in an airport, supermarket, restaurant, etc ask you for a tip,if you want to give, give and if you don't want to,pass and go your way. They won't beat you.
Stop shouting in every news media that people beg you for tips only in Nigeria that you can't see such a thing in America or Europe when you haven't left the shores of Nigeria before.
This message is only for those that always make this unfounded comparison.

So what's the way forward to curbing the menace of jihadists that have everyone surrounded?
Political Will from the President.
That's all.
The ragtag Islamic terrorists cannot survive Nigeria military firepower for just 3 months.
The problem we have is lack of political will by the president to tackle the menace of Boko Haram.
The fear of losing votes from the North in 2027 and religious sentiment is what is affecting the Presido from laughing offensive against the terrorists enclave.
I still maintain my stance that creation of state police is not the solution to Nigeria insecurity.
Whatever that was stopping the federal security from facing the terrorists headlong will also stop the state police from doing so.
Anybody that tells you that a governor in core North live Katsina, Zamfara or Kebbi will order a state owned police to go after Islamic terrorists in their states is lying to you.
People that sponsors known terrorists to Saudi for pilgrimage can never send a state police whose personnel will be mostly moslems after the terrorists.
Religious sentiment will never allow that to happen.

I came across this very interesting post about the Christian crusades that began sometime in the first century AD.

The thing about history is this: it is difficult to come across a completely unbiased narration of events. I'll leave you to judge.

Kindly exit now if you have the attention span of a tweet.
Crusaders invaded which Islamic World?
The question should be;
*What were the Muslim doing in those cities you mentioned especially Antioch and Jerusalem?

*How did the Muslims spread from Medina to those places?

It should be noted that non of those cities you mentioned were muslms' communities.
Right from our primary schools in CRK,we were taught that the followers of Christ were first called "Christians" in Antioch.
Meaning that the city of Antioch has already embraced Christianity far back centuries even before Mohammed founded Islam.
Then Jerusalem was already the City of David, the ancestor of Jesus.
So,what were the Muslim that was just founded centuries later doing in those Christian and Jewish cities and how did they got there?
The got to those places by waging war of attrition and annihilation against the Christians there.
They siege on the cities and caused the Christians population to perish in large numbers by the edges of swords.
So,it was pertinent that the Christian communities in western Europe retaliated to reclaim their land.
So,moslems right from the days of their founder, Mohammed,up till this day, spread their Islamic religion through unholy war of jihad. They conquer and massacre every "unbeliever" which are majorly Christians and established their Sharia rule.
Even as just "recent" as 1804,Usman Danfodio massacred indigenous people in the entire Northern, Western Nigeria and forced Islam on them even down to some part of South (Edo) before he was stopped.
He wanted to dip his Quran in our Atlantic Ocean but not for the resistance of our forefathers.
So,muslim didn't have any "World" in those places you mentioned. They were and are still "Invaders".
One day, they will leave those "occupied" places .

State governors appoint the Commissioner of Police by themselves, pay their salaries and other allowances and you expect them not take every order , whether lawful and unlawful from them?
Dey play!
Then talking about sacking the commissioner of Police, the governor will have more than 💯 % power to hire and sack any state commissioner of Police who refuses to do "yes sir" to him at all time.
SHoA confirmation?
Who are the HoA members?
Those Boi Boi to state governors?
Which Commissioner Nominee have they,in any state, ever rejected before during screening even if they are found to be wanting?
So far it is governors that nominated them, all of them will be passed by the rubber-stamped SHoA.
National Police Council?
What is that? Governors will override those ones like toy.
In short,no governor will even recognize such a toothless body in the administration of state Police.
In summary, political opponents, dissenting voices, free press, voters at polling booth, social media critiques, state labour activists and all form of activism go hear weeeñ in the hands of governors with the coming of state police.

The people living in that neighborhood are not Nigerians.
With what is happening in Nigeria nowadays, Nigerians are now wiser than before in terms of security.
In my state, you cannot leave a house in that state the report is describing in the midst of residential houses without people asking questions what the house is meant for.
In short, house Agents will frequent the compound to find out if it will be rented out.By so doing, truth would have been revealed since even before US intelligence reveals it.
Imagine what some of them are even saying when Punch ask them questions!
You stay in a place for 10 years, the house next to you looks abandoned.....doors under locked and keys, rusty handles,no sign of people living there but occasionally, you do see some people coming to open the doors and sweep the compound.
Stay for few days and disappear again, and you don't care to ask questions who they are?
So childish,carefree and unconcerned people!

When some people post nonsense, they assume that I would want to argue with them, but it's quite the opposite, I want to give it as much publicity as possible. Why?

Because sensible people should be able to see the nonsense and judge the poster accordingly.
People post nonsense?
So for your mind now na only you dey post something sensible, shebi?
So even for petty trading wey you dey try dig out e.gs from 1910 to support 10k donation,so you want tell us say 50k don reach Akara or Kulikuli business in today's Nigeria?
How much be a bag of beans for this PBAT regime? How much be a gallon of groundnut oil? What about other ingredients?
Then for kulikuli, how much be a bag of groundnut now?
What you people who are defenders of this government always fail to admit is the fact that this government has made prices of things so high that our highest currency note can hardly buy the least thing like Maggi in the market again.
So for a highly placed government official like that to donate 50k to women to start Akara or kulikuli business and still announce it,is not just insensitive but a mockery to the beneficiaries' poor situation.
The main concern of any sensitive government should be how to lift it citizens out of poverty and not to ensure that they are perpetually kept in their already impoverished situation.
So giving 50k to people for business in this FG-induced harsh economic environment is an indication of mockery and not economic boost.
So I don't know what you are opening a thread to defend here to the extent you feel people are posting nonsense for your engagement.

You guys don't get the concept of State policing. It is not about personnel alone but how modernly efficient a State can make it's Police force.

Policing is not about bodies alone. Our federal Police is at least 70 years behind Police forces in the West because of under-investment in it's capacity to fight crime.

Science and Tech, like DNA capacity and biometric-enabled CCTV Camera, is replacing manpower.

Say what you want. I am sure State police will be a game changer for the SW, because the people and leaders of the region are sincere and peace-loving, even as I can't speak for any other region. We will see.
What is it with you guys with State Police?
Look at what you are saying?
That the state police will be better equipped technologically and otherwise than the federal police?
You are probably living in the moon.
Show me one security outfit that the state and federal has that the state own is even near the Federal own not to talk of being better than.
Take Fire Service for instance,I have been to all states of the federation except 2 in the far north and one in the south west, none of them has a functional State Fire Service. In fact,if you see some of their stations, you will shed tears. They look moribund, dilapidated and bushy like abandoned properties.
You can't compare any of them with the Federal Fire Service in terms of personnel training and equipment.
Meanwhile, who told you that the personnel don't matter but equipment in any security outfit?
Go and see what Ebube Agwu and Udo Ka Chi are doing in the East,Amotekun and LAWMAN are doing in the West,Hisba in the North are doing to people businesses and abuse of human rights and thereafter their commandants would be found sleeping with somebody wife in the hotel and Compliance Boys are doing in the South like AKS.
All of them that I mentioned are untrained touts jumping inside a moving vehicle to drag key with the drivers with full passengers inside thereby endangering their lives and beating innocent citizens with sheath Matchets like c..lt initiation.
And these are the guys that will transition into your state police and you expect them to be different?
