Peter Obi is a visionary leader. He foresaw what is happening today far back. That was why he quickly jumped ship to NDC. I knew this was their game planned since the day Obi joined ADC. Because I don't see any reason Bala Gombe should wake up from sleep to challenge the leadership of the party which he was a party to their selection and inauguration in court. Since that gimmick failed, they now resorted to winning elective post or 25% wins in an election. Obi sabi pass them and he jumped am passed. |
The court was approached by the Association of former wetin wetin? Association of former Looters? To compel INEC to deregister the 5 parties say wetin be their own for the matter? Them dey contest? I think say them say them be Association of Former rubber-stamped Looters? So how the existence of the party come affect them? Who send them and to what end? Non..senseee!! |

Ttalk:I wanted agreeing with you on the issue of presidential candidates that it's not every issue they should dabble into expecially during election period like this. But on a second look, Buhari, while seeking this same presidential office you talked about, was credited to have said that he will soak the baboons and dogs in blood. And we all saw what happened in Kaduna,Kano and Bauchi when the 2011 presidential election results was announced. How the coppers mainly of southern extraction were cut and roasted as Babecue. Prior to 2015 presidential election,he was also credited as saying that "A fight against Boko Haram is a fight against the North". Did that stop Nigerians from voting for him? No,it didn't. He became a 2 term president of Nigeria even with those statements that has national security implications. So,relax and chill. Leave Peter Obi alone, those Nigerians who want to vote for him will still vote for him regardless of his opinion on any national issue. He is not the first neither will he be the last in holding opinion on national issues while seeking presidential office. |
Obaofaba:So which Boko Haram is in jail presently now? Is there any of them?Or they are in Operations Safe Corridor for Rehabilitation and Reintegration? |
But when Muritala, Obasanjo and Babangida packed you people in large numbers to come and receive training in Nigeria on how to go fight your Apartheid masters,we didn't collect you people a dime. When we were pumping money to your freedom fighters like Nelson Mandela and Oliver Thambo, and their ANC,we didn't ask for any repayment..oo. But today,we have helped you people to gain freedom, you now have mouth to ask us for money to send us back to our country after killing, beating, harassing and burning down our properties in your country,we still have to pay you money for committing atrocities against us. Kwantinu ok!!! I no blame you people! |
But Xenophobic Republic of South Africa is not part of African continent nah!! You people have been ostracized from our dear continent of Africa. So don't expect any support from us in anyway. |
EmekaBlue:Eheh nah! Police can open a door for a General. During that time,IGP was a very important and powerful member of the Provincial Ruling Council. And if you check the history of Nigeria coup, there's no coup plot that police wasn't involved. At least a member must be involved because they are in charge of internal security. So, before Gen Abdulsalam said they were locked up in a room, know that there was another military coup that was about to happen. E be like say them been want kpai all the senior military men wey been dey the corridor of power for that Abacha regime. And one man one man like that people been finger am say nah im been want run the senior military men them street and take over. Him name nah Al Mustap........ But nah God save them Abdusalami,Ishaya Baminyi, Jeremiah Useni, Nsikak Eduok them,if no be so,the rugged guy man for don clear them off. ![]() |
Make unah dey kwantinu! No be for this same forum last week or few weeks ago wey I hear say repentant terrorists kpai many soldiers? Abi no be so? |
Wetin Petroleum Mining University dey do for dry land of Kaduna? Nigeria with their misplaced priority! |
Vision101:Obi is an opposition leader. Even in a developed and advanced democracy, there are oppositions and they are called watchdogs to the ruling party. So if you expect him to keep quiet and swallow every policies of government, whether good or bad simply because other opposition leaders are doing so,then it means you don't know the role of an opposition party in a democratic setting. Talking about government failure contributing to the failure of the Super Eagle to qualify for the world cup,so you don't know he is right? Do you know how hurtful the teaming Nigeria football fans feel for Nigeria to fail to qualify for this year's world cup even when FIFA increases Africa's slot to 10? For Nigeria government to push away a coach that took us to the Nation cup final, and in the eve of the world cup qualifiers simply bcuz he wasn't yielding to their corrupt demands contributed to our qualifications failure. For the government to bring in 2 indigenous coaches who couldn't win a single match in the qualifying series bcuz they can control those ones is part of the government failure Obi is talking about. For the FG to fail to pay match bonuses spanning about 3 years leading to the team's threat to boycott training and actual matches during a critical period like qualifications time is part of the reason we didn't qualify. So,no matter how you look at it,it boils down to government failure that caused us the qualification. |

The AUDACITY from the pilot! After his discipline by the authority,he should later be given award for bravery. It is not easy to land a plane on a road under construction. No runway lights,no landing instrument and no directive from ATC. Yet,he landed successfully without derailing from the edge of the road. Then his audacity of taking off without guidance from ATC to know whether there is another plane coming from opposite direction or not. Kudos to him! But he should go and face his disciplinary panel. |
mightyhaze: ![]() How dem for do? Cry? The thing dey like action movie for their face. Something wey you never see before, plane landing on a bridge still under construction and was able to take off again safely. The onlookers get dey happy abeg for that kind wonderment |
IronGalaxy:Doing which things is nobody not doing? Beating foreigners in the streets? Setting immigrants properties ablaze? Or killing the black migrants? Which of the things above there are your people not doing? Even when the videos and pictures are all over internet? You are still living in self-denial? Wonders shall never end!! That means I can as well denied that Boko Haram has ever kidnapped any student in my country despite the video evidence all over the net. |
nairalanda1:You missed the road along the line cos you don't read in-between the lines to understand. Good morning too! |
dominique:If they are not needed in your country, deport them peacefully. Don't beat and stripped them naked in the streets.Dont kill them extrajudicially.Dont burnt down their properties. Simply deport them and tighten your borders. That's the message. Is that clear now? |
IronGalaxy:You failed to understand one thing, none of the scenarios you painted in other African countries is similar to what is happening in your country, South Africa. The war in Congo, Sudan and Somalia are civil and among themselves. No black foreigner is isolated and targeted. The Islamic jihad war in Nigeria is among themselves, that's Nigerians. No target of any foreigner in particular whether legal or illegal. But in your own case in South Africa, it's you people against foreign nationals Do you now see the difference? That is why xenophobic attack is gaining more traction in foreign media than those crisis you mentioned in other African countries. Like the write up attributed to the first woman in the picture above: "We the South Africans don't need any Ghanaians in our Country". How does that statement by a supposed public figure makes sense to you in a modern and civilized world ours today? It is very wrong religiously, traditionally, morally, customarily and constitutionally both in local and int'l laws for non-state actors in South Africa to accost, harass, intimidate, bully black foreigners in an open street and,in many cases , killed and burnt down their properties with the tacit support of the state agents. It makes South Africa to be seen by the media as a lawless, primitive , barbaric and uncivilized country. The right thing to have been done is,use the state immigration agency or the police or whatever agency that is in charge of enforcement of immigration laws in your country, track down the illegal immigrants, arrest and detain them . Then liase with their country's embassy and deport them back to their countries. No media would have been gaslighting you people for any zenophobia. Look at what the ICE Agents are doing with illegal immigrants in the US. They arrest and deport you back to your country. They don't kill, burnt and destroy the migrants properties like they are doing in South Africa.Secondly,it is not anyhow fellow in America that is carrying out the crackdown on undocumented migrants. It is a state recognized agent, the ICE. So the denominators in your own country case is targeting of foreigners from other African countries through barbaric and primitive ways and moreso by street miscreants in the name of checkmating migration instead of being done by a state recognized agent. |
nairalanda1:Increasing the budget for security is not the solution too. Also, don't always compare our security budget with that of US.Our economy are not the same. The security budget and the equipment we have so far is more than enough to fight terrorism to a standstill and eradicate them. The only solution to this insecurity bedeviling Nigeria now is having a president who will NOT be; (1) Sympathetic to the Islamic terrorists. (2) Afraid and fearful of the already known terrorism sponsors. That's the only solution to the manace of terrorism in our country today. |
Lithiumite:Yes,in terms of issuing executive order as you said, the governor is powerful bcuz he is in the executive arm of government. But in order of protocol in our country presently, the office of the SENATE PRESIDENT is far higher than the office of the GOVERNOR. This is how the ranking goes; The President The Vice President THE SENATE PRESIDENT The Speaker of HoR The Chief Judge of the Federation . So, from the above order, the Senate President is the number 3 citizen of Nigeria while the governor is not in anyway near him in ranking. The governor is only number 1 citizen in a FEDERATING UNIT (state), and not in the FEDERATION. The governor is only ranked higher than the Speaker of his state HoA and not the Senate president. The logic behind it is that, the governor is voted into power by only the citizen of 1 state, and he/she represents that 1 state, while the senate president is voted into power by the entire 36 states of the federation through electoral college. Therefore,he represents the entire 36 states and his powers cover the whole Nigeria Federation just like the president UNLIKE the governor that his powers are not beyond his state. In conclusion, the Senate President has the same range of powers with the President but in different capacity.May I also clarify that the governor is higher than a Senator.Note;I said a senator, not a senate president. Be reminded that in a presidential system of government such as the one we are practicing here, there are 3 arms of government. The Executive, Legislative and the Judiciary. The President is only the Head of the executive, the Senate President is the Head of the Legislature, while the Chief Justice is the Head of the Judiciary. All of them holds equal powers but in different capacity and functions through the principle of separation of powers. In short, the governor is under the president while the senate president is NOT under the president. Then as for Lawan and others trying to leave the seat of the senate president for governorship seat,it is either they are ignorant about the scheme of things in the nation or it's their greediness for quest for power, which I strongly believe that it's the latter rather than the former that motivated them to down to those lower positions. Don't be surprised if you tell some of our senators or ministers I come and take the position of councilor in their ward if there's no chance for them in their present position, they will gladly accept it. They will accept the councilorship position not bcuz it's higher than the Senatorial or Ministerial positions they were holding before, but bcuz of greed of our politicians and the tendency to sit tied forever in anything call power. Though, the case of Bello Massari,Aminu Tambuwal,Emeka Ihedioha that you mentioned, they were never heads or the leader of the parliament. The head or the leader of the parliament/National Assembly is the Senate President.Hence,my emphasis is on the office of the Senate President. |
Lithiumite:No,he is not going for a smaller office. The office of the Senate President he is fighting for is actually bigger than the office of the governor he is occupying now. So,he is rather leaving a smaller office to a bigger office. |
