Two worlds.

Some are staying indoor with 24hrs electricity supply and emergency services operational.

They can easily place orders online or make calls if they run out of supplies (food/groceries/toiletries) or need medical attention with thousands of volunteers (delivery guys/health workers/police) responding.

Another world, citizens are scared of staying indoor, how are they going to survive indoors for a month.

No electricity, no money, no food.

If they run out of supplies or they need medical attention, who are they going to call

I see some people breaking out of the lockdown after 1-2months and breaking into various stores to survive. But i pray it won't get to that.
Half truth. The truth is, if it stays like this until Monday, next week, vandalising would have started.

If you know it wasn't affecting you, you could have kept quiet for others to speak.

Of course, it's all about you. Not about the restaurants, hotels and other businesses losing money.

Some christians and their 'my case is different' mentality. They don't care about others dying in accidents or other disasters. All they care about is themselves.

Jesus Christ was never like that. He was a compassionate person that was moved by the suffering of others.

As regards this virus of a thing, I think the government should ban all sports betting houses from operating.

I passed one this morning and the number of people clustered around there playing virtual bet is quite alarming, and they’re always over crowded, shouting at each other and the virus can easily be spread there.

I pray that the government closes down all betting shops to prevent further spread of the virus.
Because you have lost all your salaries to bet now your advice is for govt to ban it.

bro it's not exactly how you think it. Some members will strong-headedly just go to church to appear holier than the GO himself. I think it will be exactly how you think it if by next Sunday members still gather there. Then, there'll be no excuse but just to show that the church didn't do enough to comply with government directives. If so, that Na big fail on d part of d church o.

PRESS STATEMENT FROM LIVING FAITH CHURCH ON CHURCH SERVICE OF MARCH 22, 2020

*Coronavirus: Compliance with Government Order – Matters Arising*

It has become necessary to issue this statement to clarify issues surrounding why Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, the International Headquarters of Living Faith Church in Ogun State, held church service on Sunday, although with less than half of her regular worshippers.

There have been diverse responses varying from well-meaning concerns to uncharitable insinuations, misinterpretations, and unfounded allegations that the service was held in deliberate defiance of Ogun State Government ban on high-density gatherings, in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Nothing can be further from the truth.

For avoidance of doubt, as stakeholders and as a responsible organisation, Living Faith Church fully supports and encourages compliance with all initiatives of government to combat the spread of this dreaded virus. However, information has to be strategically disseminated to the grassroot, noting that the Church is a family and not an industry, it is for this reason that enlightenment and sensitization from the Church platform is a most effective way to get people involved in playing their part in terms of prayers and intercessions and not just staying away from Church without knowing what to do.

Invariably, a press release from the office of the CAN President, through his Special Assistant on media on Saturday March 21, 2020, expressed the same position that members who may gather in church premises, many of whom may not be aware of this regulations should be allowed to worship for the purpose of enlightenment on the subject matter.

As we all know, the Church is made up of both literate and illiterate congregants; many are not in touch with any of the modern platforms of communication and this is what we did yesterday. Indeed, the service was devoted entirely to sensitizing and mobilizing members of the Church regarding the danger of this deadly virus and the need to comply with government directives.

The Bishop has since engaged Ogun State Government at the highest level to clarify this issue and any misgivings and reiterated the full support of the church for the State Government’s efforts to ensure public safety, towards curtailing the spread of this deadly virus. He appreciates the opportunity of direct engagement and the understanding of the government. Cooperation to safeguard public safety is not just a moral obligation or civic responsibility; the church also considers it a spiritual duty.

For instance, to show how law abiding our organisation is and in compliance with government directives, all our primary and secondary schools across the nation have been directed to close down. Also, our students at Landmark University, Omuaran, Kwara State were sent back home, while Covenant University Students, who are currently on vacation were instructed to stay back at home while awaiting further directives from government.

As a responsible and law abiding organization we wish to state that will ensure compliance with the government directives in all our churches across the state .

The Church shall continue to engage all necessary logistics to ensure compliance with government directives and continue to pray for speedy divine intervention to stem this deadly virus.

Special Assistant to Bishop David Oyedepo

Family / Re: For How Long Should An Engagement Ring Be Worn? by pajudah007(m): 6:41pm On Mar 23, 2020
HelloHolla:
Good evening everyone, I've been a guest for quite a while, created an account cause I need advice from the audience.

How long should an engagement ring be worn for? I've been engaged since last year May (dated for 4yrs), my Fiance hasn't talked about proceeding to do introduction or marriage, it's like he just proposed to me because he felt like.

This man has refused to be on his own, his Grandma and 5 siblings (younger and older) live with him and he takes responsibility for them all, two of his siblings living with him also have their partners living with them. It's only a 3 bedroom flat. I feel like quitting the whole thing cause I don't feel comfortable going to his house. When I do, he wants me to cook for everyone which gets me strained.

With the look of things, he has no plans of moving out for them cause he rented the apartment, neither do they have intentions of moving out on their own, it's more like a family house. My period is two days late and I'm scared to the marrow.

Please advice me on what to do cause I can't live with him if they're still there after marriage, he's not even talking about marriage, I've not asked him yet so as not to sound desperate but why propose if you don't have plans of doing the next thing after a max of 6 months?

He's 31 and I'm 24

Thanks.
hmmm... Babe you'll have to talk with him o. In your best moods and in the most polite way, ask him what his plans are for the both of you and let him know your concerns too. I understand how frustrating it can be with everyone around and the feeling of time passing by but you still have to respect the relationship he has with his folks and that's why I suggest you talk about it with him in the most polite manner.

Before you do this, try and activate your understanding mood o, your understanding might just be all he needs

Now I am so disappointed in this woman. You suggest total lockdown, what measures has you husband put in place to ensure that the people who voted him to power will not die of hunger before even corona hits them?

It just shows how far away you are from the reality of suffering in the country. I don't have a figure but I know that we have so many families that will not survive after 3days if we shut down completely because they feed from what they make daily.

Romance / Re: How Do You Break Up With A Girl Without Breaking Her Heart? My Story by pajudah007(m): 6:20pm On Mar 23, 2020
Nomanlike:
Good morning Nairalanders..

There's this gal I want to break up with. She has always been kind to me and we loved us. But the thing is I'm a graduate who's trying to put his life in order and I don't think I can afford anything called concrete relationship right now.

She's in 200 level and you all know how these students girlfriends can be especially when we are not assisting them financially.

At first I thought it was a fling until she got serious. I want to remain focused and not have any gal emotionally attached to me. I want to break up with her but the thing is she loves me so much (I know cos she let me read chats of niggas asking her out, picks every call if we are together and speaks with freedom and she tells niggas I'm the main guy)

She might not understand if I tell her the reason for break up is I want to stay fully focused and not think about my gal taking dick etc..
Brothers how best can I break this news to her ??!
bro she sure will be heart-broken in this case.

From what you said and didn't say, you just don't love her as much as she loves you. Check deep within you, if you are truthful to yourself, you'll find one or two reasons why you think the both of you ain't good together. Why I am sure of what I am saying is this: If a lady that meets your requirements come along now, you'll find out that you are ready for commitments.

So my advice, if you don't want to break her heart, learn how to love her. From all you said, she's a good lady and Dem no too plenty o brother.

Seems Sanwoolu does not know the gravity of what's coming.

Ground Lagos, it's a trigger point. Ground activities.

If it comes full blast with this light precautionary measures, it's going to be disastrous.

I repeat, Sanwo should ground the state.

Our infrastructures and social welfare fascilities will sporadically escalate issues as it's not evenly distributed, equiped and over utilized, which will be a catalyst of the pandemic.

A stitch in time, ......

The problem we have in this country is we always want to copy from countries that have already put their houses in order.

First, I am sure you don't live in Lagos. What measures has the govt put in place before you are calling for outright grounding? You for kukuma come kill us as corona Neva kill us Na. They have advised social distancing which I think is ok. How on earth will you ever suggest grounding Lagos without thinking of how people will survive through it?

Abeg dey ur dey for ur state and live us alone, Las Las we all will pull through.
