Politics / Re: Senate confirms Agbamuche-Mbu, Huruna, others as INEC National Commissioners by panpan(m): 11:29am On Feb 03, 2022
INEC commissioners are expected to be non-partisan.
If any of those appointed as INEC commissioners is a registered member of a political party, such an appointment should be contested in court.
Politics / Re: Reps Mull 20 Years Imprisonment For Bankers Who Breach Assets Declaration Law by panpan(m): 7:25am On Feb 03, 2022
Laws should not be discriminatory.

There are laws already in place against not declaring assets.
If the House of Representatives wants to pass new laws against non-declaration of assets, such laws should be inclusive of the general population, and not bankers only.

Education / Re: Bill To Enforce Teaching Of History In Schools Introduced In Senate by panpan(m): 9:15am On Feb 02, 2022
Secondary and tertiary institutions should determine their curriculum.

The federal government should do away with making subjects compulsory as much as possible. Let the students and their schools be able to choose their subjects. Compulsory subjects in secondary schools should be limited to English Language, Mathematics and one science subject.
Travel / Re: UK Home Office Responds To IELTS Removal Petition, See! by panpan(m): 5:03pm On Jan 27, 2022
The United Kingdom should allow the educational institutions or employers to determine the English language requirements.

The validity of two years for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is too short. A validity of ten years or even indefinitely would be more appropriate.

Besides, in practice, this IELTS requirement seems to be applicable to African countries.
Are citizens of the European Union, for example, subjected to these IELTS requirements, before they can work or study in the United Kingdom?

The denial of work permits to Nigerians is still an issue.

In the meantime, what can other Nigerians, especially those with a lot of money, do?
If a foreign country snubs your fellow citizens, you may snub them back.

Avoid going to the UAE for tourism only.
A business trip to the UAE should be considered only if absolutely necessary, and is going to be profitable for you.

Is this a ploy to get the accused acquitted on technical grounds, due to lack of jurisdiction?

Politics / Re: Abdulsalami Abubakar: Abiola Died After Falling Ill by panpan(m): 7:56pm On Jan 23, 2022
Well, this is just a theory:

In early 1998, it had been determined that for Nigeria to move on, two persons had to be put aside.

Abacha died on 8 June 1998.

There was a soft spot for Abiola.
It would have been convenient for Abiola to be out of the way; that is, for him to drop any claims on becoming president.

When Abdulsalami Abubakar became Head of State, he initially declared 7 days mourning; the next day, it was increased to 30 days.

The extension to 30 days was to give time for Abiola to make a decision.
The Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku and the United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan both (probably at different times) paid a visit to Abiola. The purpose of each visit was to convince Abiola to drop his claims.

On 6 July 1998, Abiola (still in detention) was asked about his stand on his claim to become president. He sought advice from his closest (political) associates.
Abiola did not relinquish his claim. He died the next day (7 July 1998), which happened to be the last day of the 30-day mourning period.
Was this just a coincidence?

Here in Cameroon, no amount of money is required from any individual, both natives and foreigners, before he is tested for COVID-19. ...

... my COVID-19 test result inside Douala airport came out within five minutes. It was stamped negative. ...

Then, on Saturday morning, all journalists and fans had to do another COVID-19 test before the match between Nigeria and Sudan in Garoua. It was free, and it took less than five minutes for each of the results to come out.

What specimen was used for the covid test in Cameroon?
Was it a deep nasal swab, or was it blood?

The denial of work permits to Nigerians is a very sad situation.
This is where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigerian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) should intervene.

In the meantime, what can other Nigerians, especially those with a lot of money, do?

Tramadol, diazepam, bromazepam and pentazocine are legal pharmaceutical products. They have their uses.
It is not within the authority of NDLEA to seize legal pharmaceutical products.

If Exol-5 is a cough syrup, it should not be seized either.

Politics / Re: Enforce Compulsory Vaccination On LG, State Workers - FG Tells Governors by panpan(m): 8:53pm On Jan 10, 2022
They are called vaccines, but they are not vaccines.
The covid "vaccination" is not about your health. It's about control and submission.

The incentive to force people to take the "vaccines" did not originate from Nigeria.
There is heavy financial inducement for national and regional governments all over the world to enforce the jab.

It may be hard for state and local government workers, but refusing to take the covid jab would be a much better decision in the long term.

The vulture is just a bird.
Chicken is also a bird.

Fulani chicken is a type of domestic chicken reared by the Fulani people. They are good egg layers with high quality meat. These chickens are not easily attacked by diseases and tend to live longer.

eldoradoxx:
I don't just understand this compulsory vaccination. Vaccinated people can transmit covid 19 like the unvaccinated people once they re both exposed to the virus only that the unvaccinated may likely develop more illness than the vaccinated we were told.
Novick is not covid positive and so why can't he enter any country? I though that the idea is to prevent the spread of the virus (which he does not have any to spread ), if it is, why is a healthy man who has negative PCR test not being allowed to enter a country he has valid visa to enter.

The covid "vaccination" is not about people's health. It's about control.
The Australian government wants all citizens and residents to be "vaccinated" at all cost.

The covid "vaccine" is probably the only "medication" in which its ineffectiveness is blamed on those who have not taken it.
The Australian government does not want a celebrity (tennis star) to prove to the whole world that the covid "vaccination" is useless.

The covid tests are not reliable. There have been a lot of false positives.

Mandatory covid tests should be stopped.
Covid test results should not be used as a kind of "gateway pass" to a place or to an event.

If you want to test yourself for covid at home, pour some beer (or any drink that has both smell and taste) for yourself in a glass or cup.
If you can smell it and taste it, you don't have covid. cheesy

What is the purpose of a nationwide curfew from 10 pm to 4 am?

When there are repeated periods of strict lockdowns and curfews, it is bound to have an effect on local communities and mental health. Eventually, people will snap.

This may be a subtle warning to the residents of Abuja, including foreigners, to relocate out of Abuja now.

In May 2021, someone talked about having a "Plan B". This may be the time to activate that plan.
