Politics / Re: Now That Crude Is Gradually Becoming Worthless, What Next For Niger Delta? by Panter215: 1:17am On Dec 31, 2015
Bryan37:
It's no news that only 13% of 2016 budget will be funded by the SALE of Crude

Which means that Nigeria is gradually diversifying its economy away from the Oil sector which is expected to even "nose down more". By d time Iran starts pumping their Oil into the international Market, also with d demand for cleaner energy rising day by day and d Cost becoming cheaper and cheaper, I can tell u that in d Next 20 yrs a bucket of Clean water may worth more than a bucket of toxic crude.

What will become of ND a report that has been raped by the Nigeria Government for the past 10 decade

I keep wondering if d OIL was a gift or a curse to this region which made them so Lazy, Corrupt and underdeveloped. Infact d most popular Slogan in d Niger Delta is " our oyel".

The only time ND man is considered in the scheme of things in Nigeria is compensation because of their Oil. Eg emergence of Goodluck Jonathan etc,

Now that the value is gradually diminishing and d reseRve trying, you wonder if this region has done enough or if they are prepared for the storm coming their way.

I must confess, am happy we re moving away from Oil and you are happy too but what will become of our brothers who only relevant is dependent on CRUDE

Tourism. With the type of coastline and the swamps, I see no reason why this region should lack after oil. The current problem is lack of vision from their leaders.

@Onismate, Thanks for sharing. All that call this friction, I think you miss the point of this write-up. He has shared his one year or so life in Malaysia and it is up to us to learn or chose not to. Others can share their own more enlighten stories and we will also learn. Many young guys think it is a bed of roses out there and will sell all they have to make that trip. It is not always true and you should always have a plan b, c and d. If you imagine what can make someone use a canoe to cross the Red sea or stow away in the belle of a plane from Benin to Lagos, we will understand that not all do this with clear understanding. I wish many learn from this write up. Onismate you should consider writing for a living, you might make more than the Computer science you read. Keep safe and spend some time in Naija before jetting off on your next adventure.

Ban ban ban. Are there no other solution? Can we not help with the refining and also export like other countries. If it is not from Europe or America it can not be good. Black people will never learn.

What will destroying of these goods achieve? The money is already paid to china or dubai or usa, if we destroy, you lose the goods and money. It is about time we put appropriate tax on goods instead of banning.
Health / Re: Very Sad Story Of How Nigerians Left An Accident Victim To Bleed To Death by Panter215: 3:17am On May 15, 2015
It is sad that nobody helped but is it not the responsibility of government to response to emergency. I always heard of the Lagos state emergency numbers. If this is widely used, why are we not able to call for an ambulance to help. Atleast this should not require police report but I bet there is nothing like that working. If our government cares for live, we need to start investing in what safes live. God is watch us all.

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria break the record as being the first Nigerian university to produce home made cars. The cars were commissioned this Friday (13-3-2015) at around 4pm this evening.
The cars were manufactured as a collaboration between the faculty of engineering (mechanical engineering) and shell Nigeria, the cars were named as ABUCAR 1 & ABUCAR 2.

Good for a science project but why do we have to compete with Toyota and co. Let our schools create unique products. I do not understand what it mean to create 1st in nigeria product. The world is a global village and we need to compete at that level.

I agree with you. This is careless reporting. If it is suspected case, why is our press carrying it? I believe we are our own enemy.

Health / Re: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by Panter215: 4:03pm On Aug 16, 2014
JuanDeDios:
US is not SELLING nada - where did you people get that from? Liberia made its request to the company which agreed to give it out FREE after talking to FDA. Liberia made its request AFTER it was used on two Americans who were reported to be doing well. The death of the Spaniard came later but it changes nothing since even a kid can differentiate his case since the drug was given to him when the illness was advanced. I'm not in support of mass use of Zmapp at this stage but it makes more sense than Nano whose manufacturer we don't know just as we don't know whether it has been given to a monkey or not.
Guy the company Zmaap is a co-share of US and Canadian government. Check online. Note stories had it that the 1st US doctor that received this drug was already bleeding and very weak. (Read the CNN initial report). It was called a remarkable recovery but today, over 7 days later, they are still in isolation. I see nothing encouraging that should make us put all our hopes on this drug. We have to try all options. Lets test this nanosilver in a controlled form and I do not believe we do not have the labs in country to do this.
Health / Re: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by Panter215: 3:53pm On Aug 16, 2014
proffemi:

Wrong, very wrong. Zmapp has been tried, with very encouraging levels of success, on primates. That is very far along the animal testing stage.
That is what they told us and I am sure they did not share the detail report. Note how will there be a human trial if no out break. I believe that is what we are seeing now and the result so far is not good. 1 dead and 2 still in the hospital. I still see on CNN that they are still in isolation. I donot know of any test of nano silver but that is same for zmaap. We need to do something or we will forever be the guinea pigs for the rest of the world. It use to be Asian but they are now growing economically so they serve a different propose now. We need to emacipate ourselves so that they will see some economical value of us and stop this very cruel relationship. Imagine how a 70 years old European got the Zmaap over 1500+ african and I did not hear any begging from Spain.
Health / Re: Lagos Rejects Ebola Trial Drug, Nano Silver by Panter215: 12:22pm On Aug 16, 2014
Symphony007: Some people mumu no be small!! What concerns APC and PDP in matters of health? Or is that how partisan your brains have gotten? Zmapp has been tested on both monkeys and humans and has proved to work with side effects. Now you want the government to give this new drug that has neither been tested or has no success track record on nigerians? Do you know the side effects, you people are advocating nigerian ebola patients be used as lab rat, and when they are and there is catastrophic after effects even worse than ebola, who will help us? Who? We don't even know the name or company of this fictitious "nigerian scientist in diaspora" that sent the drug. Since we're so desperate as will try anything, why don't we get all our ebola patients into a lab and start injecting them with every chemical compound we can find. Who knows, one might work.
Guy, only 3 people are know to have used the Zmapp drug and 1 is dead now. The other 2 are in state we are not sure of since they are still in hospital, over 1 week after receiving that drug. Yet we all want to use it. Does that not make us guinea pigs. Only difference is that US is selling it. I do not advocate we try the Nano Silver un tested but were we have no choice, then we have to do something. Can FGN commission a test program for this nano silver.

Times are changing and we should not stand still. I agree with him that this gay thing should not the only focus for Christians. In Nigeria Christian nowadays join in the vises ripping our country dry (corruption, kidnapping, oppression e.t.c) and do not see or make issues out of it. Lets focus on the issues the should change our lives and all the other vises will disappear.
