Sports / Football Players Whose Brothers Also Play Football(video) by Pantoo: 10:09am On Feb 19, 2021 |
There are always possibilities of having one's brother/sister (siblings at large) to be in the same profession with you, and more often than not, people find it adorable. Since football is also a profession (even though it's a sport), it means siblings can have the same passion to play football. From the players we have in the world today, across different leagues, there are some players whose brother (or brothers) is also playing football. Some of these brothers are playing for the same team, while others are playing for different teams. Of course, we don't have much information how the brothers ended up going for football, but it is possible they both had passion for it from childhood, or probably one of the brothers influenced the other. For example, Paul Pogba has 2 brothers, and the 2 of them are also playing football and several other players. Thus, in the light of this, we will be seeing 25 famous players and their brothers who are also playing football; and more often than not, most players don't know these players have brothers who are also playing. Out of these 25 players, we have the likes of Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba, Thiago Alcantara, Khedira, Kylian Mbappe, Batsuayi, Toni Kroos, Anthony Martial, and several others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtg9KDUWdNA |
Sports / Moussa Dembele Has Medical At Atletico Madrid, As Striker Is Loaned By Lyon by Pantoo: 10:13pm On Jan 13, 2021 |
The Frenchman joins Los Rojiblancos to fill in the void of Diego Costa who asked to depart the club for personal reasons. Lyon will receive 1.5 million euros and Dembele's purchase option is set at 33.5m euros but could rise to 38.5m euros should various incentives be met. In the event Atletico make the deal permanent this summer, the LaLiga Santander club will owe Lyon ten percent of any future sale. Developed at Paris Saint-Germain's academy, Dembele played for all France's youth sides but has yet to debut with the Les Blues. A broken arm injury that he suffered last December forced him to miss out on two Ligue 1 games, as he has yet to recover from the knock. The Frenchman scored one goal in 16 Ligue matches this season but has struggled to rediscover his form after standing out in the 2019/20 season, when he netted a brace to help Lyon knock out Manchester City in the Champions League. Dembele, who scored 24 goals across all competitions last season, arrived on Tuesday in Madrid via Valladolid. After undergoing medical exams, he will meet his new teammates and coaching staff on Friday as the team have a day off on Thursday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OKPi07J7kQ

Sports / Cristiano Ronaldo: Playing In Empty Stadiums Is Boring by Pantoo: 10:51am On Dec 29, 2020 |
Cristiano Ronaldo isn't a fan of having to play football matches behind closed doors. article image The majority of football played over the last 12 months has been forced to be played without any supporters in attendance due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the Portuguese is looking forward to playing with an audience again. "I have to be honest, playing in empty stadiums is boring," Cristiano Ronaldo said at the Globe Soccer Awards, as part of a conversation with Robert Lewandowski and Iker Casillas. "I respect all of the protocol, because of course health comes first, but I don't like it. I do it because I love football, it's my passion. "I play for my family, for my children, for my friends, for my fans, but I don't like playing like this. It's very difficult. "I like to hear people shouting. Seeing people and other players scream out from all over the world motivates me. I hope that in 2021 the rules change and we can see stadiums full again because football without fans is nothing." Should the Juventus forward score a goal in 2021, which is more than likely, he will become the first player to score in 23 consecutive years, which he wasn't aware of before Sunday's ceremony. "I didn't know about that," Cristiano Ronaldo admitted. "It's a pleasure to break these records, win these titles and everything else. "It's not easy to be at the top for so long. I'm proud. It's not possible unless you have a great team around you and a great coach." Juventus' first three games of 2021 see them face Udinese, Serie A leaders AC Milan, and 2020/21's surprise package Sassuolo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a_00J23ppU |
Sports / 'I Like When People Boo Cristiano' -ronaldo Says Playing Without Fans Is'boring by Pantoo: 6:58am On Dec 29, 2020 |
The Portuguese star misses both the love and hate he receives from spectators Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he likes it when people boo him and finds playing without fans "boring". Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, spectators have generally been unable to attend games across Europe with some exceptions. At Juventus over the past several months, Ronaldo has had to get used to playing in empty stadiums and was even sidelined temporarily after himself testing positive for Covid-19. As someone who channels the good and bad energy from fans, the 35-year-old conceded he misses the boos just as much as the applause. "For me I have to be honest, to play in an empty stadium is boring in my opinion. We, the players, respect all the protocol and health is the most important thing of all, of course, but I don't like it, to be honest," Ronaldo said at the Globe Soccer Awards on Sunday. "I do it first of all because I love football. My passion is always football. I play for my family, my kids, my friends, the fans. But I don't like it, to be honest. It's so weird. "I like when people boo Cristiano. When I touch the ball they 'boo', I like it. I hope in 2021 they can change the rules and we can see the stadiums full of people." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a_00J23ppU |

Sports / BREAKING: Football Legend Diego Maradona Has Passed Away At The Age Of 60 by Pantoo: 9:01pm On Nov 25, 2020 |
Football legend Diego Maradona has died at the age of 60. The former Argentina attacking midfielder and manager had successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier in November. Maradona is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time, and by many as the greatest ever. He was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award. In his international career with Argentina, he earned 91 caps and scored 34 goals. Maradona played in four FIFA World Cups, including the 1986 World Cup in Mexico where he captained Argentina and led them to victory over West Germany in the final, and won the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player. In the 1986 World Cup quarter final, he scored both goals in a 2–1 victory over England that entered football history for two different reasons. The first goal was an unpenalized handling foul known as the "Hand of God", while the second goal followed a 60 m (66 yd) dribble past five England players, voted "Goal of the Century" by FIFA.com voters in 2002. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuZjYsBITMU |

Sports / Van Dijk Calls For Calm After Liverpool Thrashed By Aston Villa by Pantoo: 3:51pm On Oct 06, 2020 |
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has called for calm after seeing his side suffer a humiliating 7-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp's side were humbled away from home by Villa, who scored four goals in the first 45 minutes and wrapped up the win despite having just 30 per cent of possession across the match. This was the first time the Reds have conceded seven goals in any competitive game since 1963, while they are the first reigning English top-flight champions to ship so many goals in a league match since Arsenal did so against Sunderland in 1953. While a monumentally bad result for Liverpool, Van Dijk was quick to pay respect to Dean Smith's side and called on his team to react appropriately to the defeat. "It's hard to lose the way we lost tonight. First and foremost well done to Aston Villa, we have to give them the credit they deserve," Van Dijk told Sky Sports post-match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9GBuXg8nTA https://www.goal.com/en/news/van-dijk-calls-for-calm-after-liverpool-thrashed-by-aston/keucky2hymg0159xyut84ovla |

Sports / Keane Criticises Klopp's Liverpool by Pantoo: 6:16am On Sep 29, 2020 |
Speaking in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports shortly after the match, former Manchester United captain Keane accused the Reds of being "sloppy on one or two occasions". However, Klopp strongly disagreed with Keane's analysis and claimed he had no reason to be disappointed by any aspect of his side's performance. "Did I hear right? Did Mr. Keane say we had a sloppy performance tonight? It cannot be this game, sorry," he told Monday Night Football. "Did he say that it was sloppy? I want to hear it, that is an incredible description of this game. It was exceptional. Nothing was sloppy. Absolutely nothing. "From the first second we were dominant against a team in form. You have to be careful as hell against the counter-attacks. They got through a few times, but we had to wait for the offside flag so that's why it feels not so great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ttofeeNYFc https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/EPL/Klopp-calls-out-Keane-Sloppy-Liverpool-were-exceptional/2451333 |

Sports / Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta On How To Defeat Liverpool by Pantoo: 5:50pm On Sep 28, 2020 |
Arsenal’s dire away record at the traditional top six in the Premier League is no secret. The London club hasn’t won on any such away trip since 2015 when Arsenal defeated Manchester City 2-0. On Monday, however, the London club will be looking for a first win on the red half of Merseyside since 2012, when the current Arsenal boss was still pulling the strings in midfield. Two recent victories against the defending champion will strengthen Mikel Arteta and Arsenal in the belief that they can outmaneuver Liverpool again. The Spaniard thinks that in the long run work ethos and consistency are key to closing the gap with Liverpool. Last season, Arsenal finished 43 points behind Jurgen Klopp’s team. “That is a different level,” said Arteta at a news conference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFVDgRzHfy4 https://www.forbes.com/sites/samindrakunti/2020/09/27/arsenal-coach-mikel-arteta-on-how-to-defeat-liverpool/amp/ |
