TravelRe: Why Will Anyone In His/her Right Senses Want To Vacate Nigeria To Live In The Uk by pappilo(m): 1:39am On Oct 16, 2009
'You dont just fit in. No matter what you say, it is not necessary, all you have to do is to understand what living in Nigeria is all about, you dont have to go thru the cold (heat and no light), the racism (ethnic hatred and oppression), the stereotype (same), the joblessness (same), the loneliness (friend for food), no family (to each his own), no relations kind of life, why do Nigerians do these (probably the reason you are jobless after 11 years sojourn in the Uk, You still cant spell)?'
PoliticsRe: Under Superman Fashola Potholes Are In Multiples In Lagos Roads by pappilo(m): 1:24am On Oct 16, 2009
its a shame that inspite of majority of lagosians suffering from poor road, shortage of water supply, puverty, lack of basic infrastructure and even health care,i see them trying to prove that lagos is a paradise and fashola some kind of demi-god.you guys should wake up and call a spade a spade.
I tire o. I have never known any politician have this much goodwill from the people even though he has done nothing tangible. even Marwa wey we see the thing wey e do no get this much hero worship, abi the man use juju? I heard so much about what Fashola had done and even saw pictures on the internet but when I went to Lagos, I was shocked. Absolutely nothing to write home about.
There must be a way to use Lagos states money to fix these roads and then subtract it from maybe taxes Lagos states collect on behalf of the Federal Govt. After all we have Federal police but Lagos state government acquires vehicles and radios for them when they are in short supply.
PoliticsRe: ‘why Yar’adua Shunned Un General Assembly’ by pappilo(m): 1:22pm On Oct 12, 2009
Not attending the UN session cannot be classified as a diplomatic snub of the US becuase it was UN event and not a US event. It just so happens that the UN HQ is in New York. Some Naija reps daft sha. Is it illiteracy or ignorance?

BusinessRe: New CBN Audit Report Out - 3 More Banks Indicted by pappilo(m): 9:05am On Sep 05, 2009
Papa Browne is 100% correct. The bank is under no obligation to provide anyone with a loan. It is completely at the banks discretion even if you meet all their conditions. In the UK a bank can refuse you a loan and is not obliged to give you a reason why. All those dissing him haven't got a clue!

@ darqly

Do you work in FBN? Do you know that the majority of even those to be shown the way out are people with WASC that joined 30 years ago, are in managerial positions and contribute Zilch to the growth of the organization?
With all your wisdom you really believe that someone with 30 years experience in a bank contributes nothing just because the only paper degree they have is WASC? Boy o boy, you have a long way to go

PoliticsRe: Waziri, 100 EFCC Men Storm Lagos To Arrest Debtors by pappilo(m): 11:56am On Aug 25, 2009
Too many ignorant and illiterate people. Loan defaulters cannot be arrested as it is no crime to owe money. Many organisations borrowed money with good intentions and submitted solid business plans these banks. Many have defaulted on their loans for various reason including stiffling operating conditions in the country and other unforseen circumstances. Richard Branson and Sir Freddie Laker ran down several businesses taking along huge loans from financial institutions down with the businesses before finally making it big in business. Imagine if the authoriites in the UK had arrested and locked up this people for having bad debts. If you fail to meet your debt obligations, the right thing for the bank to do is go to court and get an order to liquidate as done by Access Bank recently. At no point shoul the law enforcement agencies come into the scenario. Only if a case of malpractise has been identified. As far as we know, the only crime these debtors have commited is to owe money.

Bruv I dont know how you do it but u dey do am. I like to see a brother hustle clean and make money. This car na only one I don see for road for this obodo oyinbo wey I dey and that one na ordinary SE. I was arguing with a friend yesterday about you that you can be trusted. He just bought an X6 for N10 million and I was telling him that there is this well trusted guy on Nairaland making stuff happen and maybe you could have gotten him a better model for cheaper or around the same price. His own na gberefu, no efizy package.

I make sure I visit the auto section once everyday to see if you have come up with more goods. I just like to look at the cars you offer cos it gives me inspiration say one day, one day me self go buy my luxury car.
PoliticsRe: Monopoly Gone Wrong - The Ibru Group! by pappilo(m): 6:52am On Aug 21, 2009
James G is probably a disgruntled former employee of the Ibrus. Did you just read a copy of the Economist and decided to tell us about what you learnt? Anti trust law and monopoly blah blah blah. How can you describe The Guardian, Rutam Motors, Oceanic Bank, Aerocontractors or Lagos Sheraton as monopolies? It is either you do not understand the term or you are clutching onto straws. Have you forgotten that one of the Ibru brothers was almost killed and infact is blind in one eye and missing a few fingers due to his opposition to Abacha? How many times wasThe Guardian shut down? By the way, quite a few of the companies in your list exist in name only and have had no business operations for some time.[quote author=otokx

link=topic=312588.msg4392961#msg4392961 date=1250833691]She has contributed to oceanic only and that too can be questioned as she did not start it. She was married to another man before and its his children she tried to introduce into the OCEANIC family but the real IBRU dynasty was opposed to that wayo.[/quote]You must have some inside information beacuse you are very correct on this. She wouldnt even do business with the other brothers companies and Michael being a frail old man could not challenge her
Christianity EtcRe: Queen Of Sheba Took Off At The Arrival Of Bishop Oyedepo by pappilo(m): 7:17pm On Aug 20, 2009
I just love the internet.  A simple search on Google with the key words ' Queen Sheba Liberia' reveals that she was someone visiting Liberia at the instance of National Traditional Council of Liberia and the date she was said to have mysteriously left Liberia was her scheduled departure date. Imagine a whole church cooking up stories a la City people

A friend of mine who used to attend his church was killed along with his Mum and Dad in 1995 on their return from evening worship at Winners chapel. As narrated by the surviving brother, as they returned from church they were met by Armed robbers at their gate but instead of cooperating with the men of the underworld, they procedded to bind the evil men with the blood of Jesus. Result: Dad, Mum, Son killed. The other son had a bullet go through his hand and exit his cheek. I dont know if we can say he was lucky to survive. I can only imagine that their approach to the situation was as a result of what they had been fed at their place of worship.
