Family / Re: This 35 Year-old Lady Needs Your Advice As She Plans To Get Married by ParagonBeauty: 7:06pm On Jun 02, 2023
[quote author=Fineman2 post=123528172]My name is Dora.

I am 35 years old and everybody keeps reminding me that age is no longer on my side.

My fiance and I have been dating for more than one year and we are getting married soon.

My fiance is 40 years old and he has never been married.

The relationship was really good when we started but now that our wedding is in a few weeks time, he has shown how controlling he can be.

From the choice of the wedding dress, to the bridesmaids selection, to the colour of the day, he wants to be in charge.

He also wants his mum to buy the cloth for our engagement as well as buy our wedding ring.

He does whatever his family says without seeking my opinion and it almost seems as if I am not the one getting married.

I told my parents about how this makes me feel and they just asked me to endure because I am getting older but I really fear for what is going to happen after the wedding.

Are these not red flags I should run from?

I am confused, please advise
It better to be single than to be in a toxic marriage. The red flag you're seeing now is enough for you to back out, pls don't allow your mother or your age to determine how you married. Marriage is a long journey. Pls take your time and avoid what you cannot cope with in marriage, better stay single than to marry and want to be single again, you'll not like the experience.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Dangote Refinery: How Prepared Are You As A Job Seeker? by ParagonBeauty: 9:14pm On May 22, 2023
ytdivine:
Opportunity comes but once. The opportunity is here again for the prepared minds. Before my NYSC in 2004, I had a mindset to serve and be retained in a multinational company during my service year, that dream came to pass. One major thing from my years of industrial experiences lacking in Nigeria is MENTORSHIP. Young graduates roam about like sheep without Shepherd and most time end up in POS and KEKE businesses. This should not be so.
Do you know that the refinery is going to bring industrial revolution in Nigeria and Africa at large. Those prepared will be absorbed while the unprepared will continue the blame the government.
Not everybody will work in the refinery, majority will work in the offset of the refinery. There will be hundreds of auxiliary companies that will come onboard as affiliates. More production from oil companies, hence more job openings. Many experience hands will leave their present jobs and migrate to the refinery jobs, hence more vacancies in other sectors.
There will be placement for all the prepared minds irrespective of the course of study; Engineering, linguistics, medical, accounting, safety, foreign relation, statistics, chemistry, and so on.

I will be letting you know what you should do to increase your chances of being absorbed there.
Please indicate if you're following. We move.

Nonsense.
All for clout. Does these things look like what will be used to track kidnappers down?
They are brought for camera purposes after which they will be handed over to DPO's and senior police officers.
If he is serious about getting kidnappers and there likes we should be seeing bullet proof vests, automatic rifles like M4, good helmet and combat kits not vehicles. Are they going for Formula-1?

What is nonsense about this?

Serve to acquire skills that will help you after serving while you check for what you can sell for others as you serve.

RIP beautiful

Only God can protect His children in this evil world, Nigeria is not safe anymore.

I was stabbed by arm robbers on the 4th of September in the evening, after they collected my bag.
I thank God, they didn't stab me at a very critical part of my body, though I lost a lot of blood.... I thank God am alive. Let be super sensitive as soon you step out of your house, the wicked is out to steal, kill and destroy life. Safety is our portions.
