How is that my business? I saw it and did not reply? Why?? Because I respect other peoples belifes and believe that what I don't want to be done to me I wouldn't do to others. It is obvious from the few replys what the topic is going to turn out to be, muslims are very sensitive about their religion and take offence, am sure the poster and every other person that doesn't live under a stone would know that from the recent events that happend all around the world. I just want that to be avoided.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't this also include preaching? If yes, then why are there so many female pastors today? Or am I just misinterpreting all this?

Both of these stories are fables and are not found in Quran, Hadiths or the complete Islamic History. If I am wrong, find me any ayat or hadith matching these stories. I will not become apostate if you can tell me a single incident of kindness ever done by Muhammad. ....Christians and Muslims have over the years held many beliefs that are contrary to each other.....and not many eyebrows have been raised because of thia......unless pushed beyond the tolerance of some(e.g intentionally putting mocking pictures of prophet in public places to incite violence and hate)

almost all xtian know that muslims consider the son-ship and father-ship of Jesus and God blasphemous...and xtians dont seem to be disturbedby such opinions of muslims.....

.....so if u think our prophet is a superman of sex, a craddle-robber, a racist etc.....please keep it in your head or within the boundaries of your screen or book(i.e less expressive or more tolerable) rather than make it more explicit by making caricatures and videos of it in places as public as youtube and expects that it still be tolerable to most Muslims as it is the numerous profane statements of non-muslim Nairalanders about Islam.....

They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them.

They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no Allah save the One Allah. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.

.........these are part of the nuances in language that not everybody will notice..........TONES and MOOD....
.....because one of the few ways to convince people is getting to their minds, it is then imperative that the speaker tries all that he can to lobby with the hearts of his listeners....with his use of words(i.e presenting statements in ways that he considers most appropriate to drive home his points)....this is general to everybody and depends on speaker or writer's motive......in fact my own post is an example........

Now to the above translations....
......it is easily predictable that the first translator is an hater of Islam as it is obvious from his use and choice of words ...now u get it "the speaker or writer's motive"............his is different in tone and meaning from the rest of the translations.....though incomplete
.....even though it can not be said that other translations don't differ at all, i think their differences would be forgivable after recognizing the "human factor" thing.......assuming they are accurate....

you would agree that "you are a liar" is not as mild as "you lied"......now it depends on individuals to see similar intent in the above translation.....the first statement

.......If u said other translators were biased and that their translations were based on their proclivity to their faith......(of course not without a proof)
.........then i would say the same thing applies to the the first translator above.

I have just come back from a formal debate at work where the topic was "Islam blasphemy and tolerance". The non-muslims raised some points that our muslim debaters failed to address. We are having another debate next week friday and I would like some help in countering their points. I myself want to debate. We had fools (Allah forgive me for calling my fellow muslim fools) representing us that could only point fingers at the west rather than stay on topic.

So, I will list some of their points;

1) That islam would be banned if they were to have blasphemy laws in the UK. They said that the christians believe in Jesus (PBUH) as a god but muslims reduce him to only a prophet.

2) That islam is intolerant (Alah forgive them) because islam has not coexisted with any other religion in this present time. They ere complaining that in any islamic country, the minority religion suffers.

Afghanistan, Bahrain, etc.

Sub-Continent and want to

3) That some of them tried to date women (this is the one that amuses me) that were muslims only to find out that they could not marry the muslim women due to the Quran's stipulation. They were angry that a muslim man is allowed to marry their women. They argue that it is intolerance

4) That islam is against freedom of speech. One non-muslim made the others laugh by saying that Islam is boring that they dont even have proper comedians in islamic countries because one false joke about the religion and they are dead.

I too am questioning my faith as a muslim. The non-muslims in my office really hammered point number 3. I pay my niece's university school fees. If she brings back a british boy from university whom she wants to marry that is not muslim, should I stop her? If the boy doesnt convert, do I really have the right to say that she is not a real muslim for marrying a non-muslim?

The non-muslim workers were bitter about this fact. I had to even caution them as they were saying things like "muslims should stick to only their women that dress like ninja if they dont want us to marry their women"

Yes, they were abusive at times but they had me pondering at this point. Wouldnt the non-muslim feel cheated that someone can freely take his women (assuming they are people of the book) but he cant take theirs?

Please help me counter these point or leave comments. Thank you very much!
