Lagosshia, mentioned that the Coptic slave girl's dowry was her freedom and she embraced Islam. This confirms what we have always known even happening today that as a non-muslim, in a majority Muslim state, you will be subdued unless you embrace Islam. I guess she had no choice even to pay Jizya because she was a slave girl...
