Yes, during the Jos crises in 2001, I was on my way from Zaria to Jos, I left Zaria late, our car was stopped by Christian youths, we were already in Jos close close to university of Jos and were sent back, I had only 40 naira on me, I was planning to enter a cab from the park to terminus, terminus to my house.
We were all Christians in the car with one Muslim. We reached a settlement and the driver said he is not going any further. A lady in the car overheard some guys discussing that once the driver leaves, they will rape us.

To cut a long story short, a guy mentioned that he has an uncle who lives around but he had not visited in years, we trekked for close to 40 minutes before locating the house. Upon reaching the house, we saw that the house had been riddled with bullets, apparently, the house was robbed the previous night, the wife's head was broken and most of their food carted away.

They family accepted all eight of us,treated us as family, shared the little they had and allowed me call my parents who assumed I was dead.

I'll never forget that act of kindness, they were members of GCM.
