Education › Re: What I Observed On Coursera App by parkervero(m): 6:21pm On Nov 16, 2020 |
Drybones: I use coursera and I enjoy their courses. Recently a friend sent me a link to get free courses on the app.
It worked well and I was able to download the videos (save on the app) and the videos worked well. Recently the free course expired and I audited some of the courses but in watching the videos(saved), they were not playing well (cracking in local parlance) it will play well at first and later start cracking.
I don't know if I'm the only one that experience this or did they put a bug on purpose to punish people that audit their courses? Simple thing. Clear the cache and close the app, then reload the app, hurray your coursera is playing with no hitches. |

Romance › Re: Why Are So Many Decent People Single Nowadays? by parkervero(m): 10:00am On Nov 14, 2020 |
ILoveDemMANNA: Decent people are not that good at manipulation . They live in their world of old , full of ideals. The field of approaching the opposite sex and pursuing through a fresh relationship is too much for them . So they lag behind others in this race and obviously stay single . They readily accept the offers they get in the hope of settling down with someone as and when it happens- they do not have the skills to push through their choices - because they never feel that skill is important in the first place. This is because they believe in sustainable and enduring relationships , not based on physical attraction or manipulation , but based on genuine affection and understanding.
The decent people are getting disillusioned with the pattern and kind of relationships , that is true. It does not mean as a general rule that they stay single - they just wait for the right person ( being old school ) , instead of chasing someone and pursuing for victory -which in any case is short lived for relationships based on external factors. Nice concept of ideal man |

victoryofGOD: Hey nairalanders, some few months ago I dabbled into programming and I picked up python-yeah good 'ol python- but now I'm just feeling discouraged and everyone around me is not helping at all. Recently I started learning HTML and CSS 'cos I thought there own path are definite. I really don't know what to do again: I've been doing this for a few months now and yet no profit outta it . Please help a fellow brother ...you can contact me on Whatsapp via 08137082984 if you have any advice or help for and also link me up Sha. You started few months ago. I believe your basics are not solid enough, in fact, you should not be focusing on profit for now even in another 6months rather focus on how to be good at it. Solve problems, develop a product that would make employers or clients give you job(offer). Keep learning by practicing, practising, practising and again practising. Develop something. |

Skye123: Hi guys, I'm not really a first time programmer. I already learnt HTML and CSS. So, I'm trying to proceed in my learning but I found out there are so many branches of programming services like, software development, mobile game development, data management, artificial intelligence, deep learning, web design and development and so on. So, I'm kinda confused on which one to go for. Pls if you don't mind, can you take a brief moment out of your time and explain what they meant and the languages I need to learn for each case. Pls, help a confused aoul You're not even a programmer at all. You are just a designer, static web page designer until you add JavaScript to it that you become a UI /UX designer (frontend). @bold just pick one and focus on it. Don't be distracted by which one pays high, your primary focus is to solve the problems in any of the fields you pick. |

Programming › Re: Learning Android Development(diary) by parkervero(m): 5:31pm On Nov 06, 2020 |
Etinosa12345: After spending up to four months learning Java, I finally decided to stop for now and start learning Android development. Due to the large size of Android studio, I was yet to start. So when I finally had enough sub to download and set up the environment , I started today...
I'm learning with Head first Android development...
What I learnt today
Well... Basically all I did today was to set up my environment but I have an idea of what activity and layout is...
Activity is the actions of the app while layouts describes the appearance of the screen
I'm practicing with my phone and my laptop...
With my fone, I was able to build my first app
With my laptop, I was able to build(according to HeadFirst)but I'm not able to run it because I can't create an Android virtual device due to sub issues... I'll do that 2moro Sha... By the way.. I'm having issues with my activity_main.xml... I expected to see a code editor but I saw a design editor... I'm getting to understand it sha
My First app with my fone You won't enjoy your learning with Java N IDE instead use AIDE. You will be able to add libraries to the build, it works like AS. The only thing it does not support is new features in Android development such as Jetpack features. As for the book, I have read HFAD it's a great book but the latest version doesn't touch most Android components especially Content provider. At the end of the book you see the topics that are not covered(you must know content provider if your aim is to work for a company, that's the first question you will be challenged with during interview) . There are other books I will recommend. All the books I want to recommend I have read them. HFAD 2nd edition, Android programming: Big Nerd Ranch 3rd and (4th edition is in kotlin), Android Cook book (from different authors), Android studio development essential edition 3.0 ~4.0, The Busy coder for Android 9 (it is a great reference book). I have tons of books I have not read both on Android and Spring boot. The learning curve is steep but it's fun and enjoyable. The basics is key. Happy coding! |
