PoliticsPost Covid-19:agriculture As Solution To Eonomic Crises By Johnbosco Onunkwo by Paschal2806(op): 10:34am On Jun 22, 2020
*POST COVID-19: WAY OUT.*
*Agriculture as solution to eonomic crises*
*High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo leads the way*

That the novel coronavirus pandemic has devastated the global community is not in question. The compelling lockdown of human activities around the world, in the bid to mitigate the spread of the virus has brought so much disorder, shocks and disruption to economies, wrecking unquantifiable havocs in many ramifications.

With the continuous plummeting of economic activities, great danger lies in wait, as there are projections of even more disruptions if there are no pragmatic measures to manage post COVID-19 calamities.

Long after the COVID-19 pandemic may have been subdued, countries around the world would have to be at their bests to restore normalcy in their domains, and chief among the major concerns would be economic revival.

Today, the novel coronavirus has increased the rate of unemployment, job loss and compounded the challenge of hunger and poverty among peoples around the world. The scenario in Nigeria, is even more complicated, as the national revenue has nose-dived, in response to the sharp drop in the prices of crude oil in the international market.

Thus, reducing hunger among citizens through aggressive investment in agriculture would be the most plausible point to begin the economic revival strategies of political leaders. Food is the most important basic need, which people need and will always need.

In addition to employing agriculture to fighting hunger in post COVID-19 era, the sector may also become the beautiful bride in shoring up domestic economies.

Agribusiness may be the way to go, as part of measures to bridge the revenue gap occasioned by dwindling prices of crude oil.

While many Individuals,  and even nations may not have kick-started their post COVID-19 economic agenda, High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo through his Foundation is already making strides that would stand him out as a leading personality in  economic revival in post COVID-19 era, with the establishment of Johnbosco Onunkwo Foundation on Agribusinesses, located at Orumba North Local Government Area. This is in joint partnership with some of the Co-operatives who are into Agribusiness.

Since the inception of President Buhari administration in 2015, Mr President has continued to emphasize his commitment to ensuring that 80% of local food consumption comes from within the Country. And, to underscore his determination in this regard, he banned importation of Many Agricultural produce like rice, cassaava, tomatoes which ordinarily we can produce here in Nigeria.

With about 500 hectares of cassava plantation Land, 100 Hectares for snail farming, 1000 Hecatres for Rice farming, empowerment of farmers through various loans and grants, among other laudable initiatives, High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo has raised the bar in subsistence and commercial agriculture.

With this laudable project, Anambra State is on the verge of agricultural revolution that will further boost her economy and create Employment for our teeming Younger generation.

Not only is High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo providing these initiatives,he is also going to Train our Local Farmers in order to in tune with modern equipment and realities in Agricultural business. High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo has proven to be a Leader with foresight and a proactive one. With this initiative, economy of our Local farmers will be boasted, it will create mass employment for our youths.

Politics*anambra 2020: Why Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo Is The Right Person For Anambra. by Paschal2806(op): 8:48pm On Jun 15, 2020
*ANAMBRA 2020: WHY ENGR JOHNBOSCO ONUNKWO IS THE RIGHT PERSON FOR ANAMBRA.*

The Nigerian public spheres are awash with visible and hidden intimations of generational leadership failings; facts and realities that bear no esoteric hue and that do not require the understanding and interpretation of experts and professionals of various callings. The failures of our time may translate into the complete failed status of the nation and state if we fail to do the needful.

The first malady describes the incompetence and indolence of a sizable proportion of the governing elite; the second, the confluence of expanding ungoverned spaces, multiplying levels of criminalities, new and old, dysfunctional and disarticulated economic sub-structures, mass poverty and youth unemployment as well as the unraveling of the nation’s fragile sectarian and ethno-cultural core, all tragically coming together in a historical time such as is heavily upon us now.

The fact remains: the State handed over to us by the founding fathers has not fared any better under this APGA and Obiano's administration; its historicist spirit is waning; the sense of stateness and State belonging are evaporating like as insolent mirage; while the vicious cycle of underdevelopment- across several frontiers- confronting us today derives essentially from bad governance and leadership deficits.

In a sense therefore, while it was right for the radical Afrocentric scholar like Walter Rodney to declare with historical fidelity and moral authority about how Europe underdeveloped Africa, for me the testament of contemporary era is nothing but how poor, unaccountable and visionless leadership of APGA and Obiano underdeveloped Anambra State in the last six years.

High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo needs no introduction in the politics of Anambra State and Nigeria as at today. He is an Engineer by profession, a Humanitarian by nature. To me, involvement of Engineers in the nation’s political space, represents the surest way of solving the nation’s challenges because engineering by practice is meant to meet societal needs.

Why do I believe that High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo is the right person for what must be one of the most taxing positions in Nigeria, to be a Governor? The Umuchu born Engineer cum Politician is bringing a unique blend of private and public sector experience, that is focused on using technology to run a better administration, and will harness the innovative and can-do spirit of Ndi Anambra. Digital Governor (as he is known) talks like a private sector executive, wanting to measure and track progress.

But his real strength, is his ability to listen and relate to people and also engage from the bottom up, to not only run a better administration but deliver on the people’s greatest needs.

Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo is one young man who believes that young people are not just the future of Nigeria. They are Nigeria today. And without them. There is no Anambra and Nigeria. And I believe that a man with such a mindset will do wonders if given the Chance to pilot the affairs of the State come 2021.

ANAMBRA 2021: High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo And the Leadership Question

It was John Quincy Adams(1769-1848) who once said that if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, Then you are a leader. To Adams, the Sixth American President, effective leadership occurs when a leader possesses the ability to successfully integrate and maximize available resources in line with the expectations of his people.

In Nigeria, while other states of the federation are yearning and praying for visionary and inspirational leadership, Anambra people consider themselves blessed and lucky to have a leader with qualities that others desire in a leader. A leader whose vision for his people is unequalled; a leader whose idea and agenda for developmental strides and interest in the welfare of the people he wants to be their servant Leader are legendary. A leader that commands the ability to spread development programmes and human capital development evenly among all the people irrespective of Where you come from in line with the position of Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe that a great person attracts great people and knows how to hold them together.

The above Leadership qualities and the quest for a true Leader is what we can find in High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo. A young Man with immense capacity and talent to profer solution where it is needed.

At a time when Nigerians are critical about leadership, a new generation Leader has emerged. High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo has exhibited leadership qualities that has been lacking in Anambra State and endeared him to the hearts of Nigerians, most especially the Youths.

Leadership is not really about age or gender, it is more about preparedness, patriotism and passion. High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo is a free-spirited, humane and passionate leader. He is a hardworking Individual and ever ready to listen.

As Anambra moves towards 2021 Election, The State is in a serious need of pragmatic Leadership. A servant Leader who will give the the State and youths the much Needed direction. And the person is High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo.

2021: How Chief Dr. George Moghalu can Navigate Ndi Igbo into Mainstream Of Federal Politics.

Nigeria by political arrangement maintains a federal structure. The clamouring for democratic imbalance came up as a result of perceived public outcry for marginalization of Ndi Igbo in distribution and allocation of state value. This perspectives injuriously affected the participation of our people in the past general elections of 2015 and 2019. A mistake that made our people to put our eggs in one basket. As a Technocrat, Chief Moghalu has the requisite experience to create such an ample opportunities to Ndi Anambra and Ndi Igbo in general. His pedigree as a former National Auditor Of APC and currently the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) stands as a factor towards this realizations.

Be that as it may, the correction of this costly mistake demands for tactical engagement and intervention of key political actors from Eastern Nigeria to enable our people integrate fully into the mainstream of federal politics and enjoy the derivable benefits.

I am utterly bewildered and stricken with unprecedented shock over the news of the sudden demise of a revered and uncommon philanthropist of our time, a rare gem, people's person, and CEO, TONIMAS Group, Chief Sir Anthony Enukeme, OON (Onowu Neni).

This tragic news sent cold shivers down my spine; I still can not fathom the fact that one of the noble philanthropists I look up to has breathed his last.

Here was a man who lived his life for others, touched lives more than some Governments, given beyond boundaries, religion, and political affiliations.

There was never a dull moment with Onowu; very jovial and accommodating. Despite his wealth and affluence, his humility is remarkably astonishing.

Indeed, Neni community Anambra state, and indeed Nigeria has lost a rare gem; an unparalleled gift to humanity and a lover of God.

His acts of philanthropy speak huge volumes that one can't be wrong to admit that his name is synonymous with philanthropy.

Onowu remains an epitome of benevolence, a billionaire of the masses, one whose love for the betterment of his community and state is matchless.

He's gone but it is very dignifying that he left unprecedented imprints in the sands of time and had his good deeds engraved in our hearts.

May God embolden Ndi Anambra with the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss of immeasurable magnitude.

Indeed, a great Iroko has fallen!

*What Anambra State needs is Ifedichie, Says High Chief Engr Jonhbosco Onunkwo*

Friday 29 May, 2020.

By Paschal Candle.

A frontline Politician and a Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) Anambra State, High Chief Engr Johnbosco Onunkwo has identified inadequate leadership vision as the major cause of the socio-economic problems the state and its citizens are currently facing.

According to Gubernatorial Aspirant on the Platform of APC, who spoke to some Selected Journalists over the week said, “what is needed for a people to excel is the ability of the leadership to think beyond the ordinary. The leader must be able to stand up and see what the folks on the streets don’t see and take appropriate steps to arrive at a destination of prosperity.

“In a nutshell, it all depends on the type of leadership in a state. The excellence you see in Lagos State, Ekiti, Edo, was not attained only today. That foundation was laid a long time ago.

So it is a question of leadership really. What the leaders of Lagos saw years ago, which we didn’t see, is to our chagrin today. So if you have a man with vision and on a mission, even regional collaboration would assist us to build a new Anambra State.”

Stating the reasons why he is seeking the state’s top job after an unsuccessful attempt in 2017, the governorship hopeful said, “There were good reasons for me to contest then and these reasons, rather than abate, have only multiplied. They have increased, expanded and therefore, so long as those conditions are still prevailing and multiplying, I will be failing in my responsibilities not to come out to offer service. I want to bring in a true Change. I am coming with *ifedichie*.

“Despite the fact of our rich endowments in human and natural resources, our people are lacking the basic necessities of life. Ours is a state generously loved by God. If we look at the resources available to us, we should be a shining example to others in Nigeria. We have whatever resources you can imagine that would help the development of a state in abundance, the largest being our rich human resources. They are all there but we are not doing well. There is a lot of propaganda by the present Government.

“A critical assessment today would show that the people of Anambra State are not happy. Vast Majority of the youths are poor. They are not poor in their heads but in their pockets. And I have come to appreciate that over time, that poverty of the pocket could also affect the poverty of the head. If you traverse the entire landscape of Anambra state today, the only industry you see that pays is State Civil Service. But the take home pay is nothing to write home about. And government over the years has not created the employment our People needed. The concomitant effect of that is that employment cannot be generated. The state has come to a standstill in terms of employment of its citizens.

“We need to diversify our economy to be able to get our citizens engaged. For six years running, graduates from the universities have come out in hundreds of thousands every year with no employment opportunities. Humiliatingly, most of them have become Keke riders,Bus drivers, beggars and idling away at cheap joints of the communities. This is not good for us as, it is a recipe for criminal acts and violent revolution. Therefore, I cannot fold my arms and watch things deteriorate further than this. The situation is already bad enough.

“You look at our infrastructure, they are in a state of decay, industrialization is zero and these are also affecting the education sector, the health sector and the total being of the citizens of Ndi Anambra. When you have situation like this, it calls on men who have the fear of God, who have vision, who have direction and who have mission to come on the stage. I believe that given the opportunity to be the governor of Anambra State, I can start to re-direct our development. And the starting point will be to examine what is on ground the database of which I already have.”

He provided a peep into what should be done to start the process of development saying, “We have to use what we have to solve the problems confronting us. Look at the various road projects and industries established by the last regime, which are in different and varying stages of completion that were abandoned.

“For whatever justification, I do not share the view that those resources should be allowed to waste away. If they are completed, not only would they add value of their own that can be disposed off at anytime for consideration, they will help in solving the problem of unemployment; they will help in creating wealth for our people and they will help in adding value to the communities where they are situated.

“I believe further that anyone who must lead Anambra State at this crucial period must have the fear of God and must be one that is well known to the people and who knows the length and breadth of the state, and I fit into these descriptions. That is why I cannot relent until we sing a new song in Anambra State, Ifedichie.

Until we have a new lease of life and have a new sense of direction that is only when I can say okay, let others run. For now, it is a man that fits my description that Anambra State needs
