I always ask myself how come Benue and Kogi States who share borders with Igbos in Enugu and Anambra States, intermarried, shared same market days, bear similar surnames with Igbos such as Agbo, Ude, Okoh etc all of a sudden when the British arrived they did a U-Turn and declared themselves as Arewa, Northern Nigeria and aligned with Fulani Jihadists from Sokoto who are still bitter that Tivs in alliance with Bassange tribal warriors killed Uthman Dan Fodio and stopped the spreading jihad on its tracks.

They even assisted Arewa hoodlums by blocking the road to kill escaping Igbos who had fled from Kano and other far northern states as a show of solidarity.
The bulk of the Nigerian soldiers who viciously attacked and laid siege to Igboland leading to deaths from mass starvation were provided by them.
So, can Benue and Kogi people tell me how they arrived at the above scenario and hate against their Igbo close neighbours, was it out of jealousy, fear of domination or just plain stupidity?
