Kasynpaulsyn1997: you just behaved childishly! U may be a graduate(even a masters degree holder) but u just behaved 'kiddly' man!My man, I mean well for you. I'm restraining you from wasting the few days before a life-changing examination. Go back to your books, switch off your internet ---thank me later. |
You guys should free the boy; don't pressure him to post pics until the test is over. This was his post after he saw his JAMB result, and was denied admission at UNN: Kasynpaulsyn1997:Please let him study for this coming test, or you'll read more lamentations in the coming days!!! |
Kasynpaulsyn1997: am very sure. But man i just said the truth(my mind) though it hurts......We like too much talk in this part of the world. Ogonogo okwu adiro n'uka mgbede. Post the pictures already! Unless you're actually writing your Post-UME in a day's time in which case I'll advise you hold off until the test is over, so you don't blame a likely unfavorable outcome on some Nairalanders. |
Kasynpaulsyn1997: who is talking about tribalism here? Am from enugu state, isi-uzo L.G.A to be preciseI'm from Isi Uzo too. Kindly take my advice. |
Kasynpaulsyn1997: Just arrived enugu yesterday for my post utme at ESUT coming up in two days and from what i 've seen ENUGU is just fuckingly overrated!.........the roads in the city are not clean unlike uyo where the govt employ workers to keep all roads in the city clean by sweeping the roads every morning. Though waste bins by The enugu state waste management agency(ESWAMA) can be seen dotted round the city but waste is not properly managed in enugu. In enugu most streets lights on the roads has stopped working and no one to trim/cut the grasses that has over grown the demarcation for dual carriage. No city planning at all! Most buildings are covered with dust. And we have buildings with rusted zincs. Oh,jeeeez touting is very much in this city! The ogbete market and garriki market/park should be moved out of the city because it makes the city look odd that axis of the city is worse! Even a modern motor park constructed by the govtemboldened,a bad idea just like the ITAM GENERAL MOTOR PARK in uyo. Enugu can only boost of tall buildings(which 40% are old/ancient) but when it comes to city planning and beautification its a no no no no no!!! As i was coming from uyo i was expecting a CITY not a city. In my honest opinion uyo beats enugu............you can as well visit both cities and verify! Enugu is just a better ABA!My brother, There are far too many errors in your brief write-up ranging from wrong use of prepositions through glaring mechanical inaccuracies and inappropriate use of relatively simple words, to non-capitalisation of proper nouns etc etc. I suggest you focus on the emboldened errors; these are the kind of questions you'll have to answer during your Post-UME. Lastly, do find out what "planning" means. PS: ESUT isn't going to offer you admission because you claim to be from Enugu; use these remaining few days to your advantage. Brush up on your English, beginning from JSS 1 work. I hope to God that English is your only deficiency. Good luck! |
aaronson: Personally verbal english and written english has never been a problem, reason why? Because I take it as hobby to make word play, irony and metaphor eventhough I'm not a rapper, those are my verbal skills with a touch of phonetics with every words,I have no problem being honest to tell you chicks in my department often like chit chat with me because I'm good vocally and fluent verbally which makes my glow divine like a fountain flow. For further learning references, read a lot, listening to cnn,bbc and other top notch news broadcasters and lastly which works for me is listen to RAP,I'm talking hard core rap and little of commercial rappers too. *Not nigeria rappers but the USOP, I'll tell you what not to do: don't listen to this guy! |
Largas: Omo. To be a Doctor, you will be exposed to different infectious diseases.Yet they get paid N5000 per month as hazard allowance. Can N5000 buy a decent coffin?! |
Ugochux: I was also posted to Ondo..wl be takn off from Owerri..heard I cn get direct bus frm onitsha to Akure..dn a cab to akoko..yet to decide wen to leave shaa, eithr monday or tuesdayThere's no need going to Akure first. Akure to Ikare is actually quite far. From anywhere in the East, pick a bus to Benin. Then take a bike to Ondo park in Ugbowo. From there, you'll get a straight bus to Ikare Akoko. You'll meet a lot of your colleagues at the park in Ugbowo I served there two years ago. |
mufutau55: Oga Spyder, is there really a reason to put those rails by the roadside anyway; instead of using heavy concrete dividers like in Obodo...I believe the rails are very necessary for the safety of school children. That short stretch of Abakpa Cantonment is home to several schools: NAOWA Nursery School, NAOWA Primary School, Command Children's school, Army Children's School 1, Command Day Secondary school, Army Children's School 2. Kids will play along that road, thus endangering themselves. Those rails are important to hedge them in. |
s3nn2x: The pictures you posted look so much like the new Abuja Urban Buses. The interior is identical. Why is that so? Even when they are from different manufacturers, I know the one in Abuja was made by the Chinese. The one I posted is the Innoson (IVM) brand, fully air conditioned, safety rails, individual bell buttons. Good riddance to the days of "Ka opuo!" "Ojuelegba underbridge, o-wa!" |
In Enugu, we've ditched Mercedes buses for IVM buses; we've ditched Mercedes refuse compactors for IVM compactors. Once IVM begins manufacture of sedans, we'll immediately ditch Nissan Sunnys for IVM Sedans. That's how India marketed their homegrown Tata brand. Lagos, Abuja should follow in tow. IVM...A brand we must support!

Bonaventura: Mr. I don't fathom anything in what you're saying. I'm from Ntezi, Ishielu that was once part of Enugu.Nwoke Ishielu, I mee ekaa? I'm from Ikem, Isi Uzo LGA in Enugu State. Ishielu folks are very enterprising, hospitable and generous, and that inspired me to start this thread. If not for arbitrary state creation, Isi Uzo esp Eha Amufu areas and Ishielu are homogenous. Nkwo Nkalagu, Ahor Ezillo are very remarkable markets. |
spyder880: Fellow Enugu people, please give your candid opinions about this topical issue as captured on this poster I saw somewhere in Enugu town.Oga Spyder, I just came into Enugu and discovered the solution to your puzzle along Okpara Avenue. ![]()

^ That's funny. Enugu stands on a tripod: Nsukka, Nkanu and Udi. Udi has subsumed Awgu in much the same way as it subsumed Oji River areas. That picture is more of an emotional appeal, but far from factual. Nsukka of 7LGAs cannot be coequals with Awgu (1 LGA. Or 2 even if you add Aninri) It's just not fair na! I suggest Awgu joins forces with Aninri, and then wrestle for Oji River. If they succeed, then Udi will be left with a weaker Udi/Ezeagu. That way, the Awgu power bloc might emerge stronger than Udi. But asking to be recognized as co-equals with Nsukka or Nkanu is Mission Impossible. |
I wish to read more APC posts patterned after Osita Okechukwu's style: The All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed concern over the listing of Enugu among the parasitic states contributing nothing to the Federation Account, in spite of the huge coal deposit worth billions of Dollars in the state yet to be explored.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/apc-raps-fg-abandonment-enugu-coal-deposit/ The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East on Sunday in Enugu called on the Federal Government to facilitate the revival of the coal deposits in Enugu State.http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/27/apc-wants-enugu-coal-deposits-revived/ |

chinolization: Passion do not get choked. Now look at a detribalized poster and what he said. Its not only me that knows that UNN has sunk at all fronts both academically and otherwise. The school has been left behind while still living in the past glory.Chino, I've been counselled that talking to you is like talking to a rock. I'm presently chatting with the woman slicing my 'ugu' at Nkwo Emene, and she makes better sense than you. ![]() |
oilykid: I will advice you to ignore the guy,if keep you arguing with him over this unnecessary arguement, you will never beat him to that.I see this argument as a blind.ignore him please to avoid further derailment of this beautiful threadThanks, I'll do so...whenever he wishes to feel good about Anambra, he finds something to compare with in Enugu. But I believe my last post has put him in his place. |
chinolization: I want you to show me similar award won by your paper-lion university since it was created over 70years ago. UNIZIK is barely 20years old or less but it has since staged a dramatic over-take and surpassed UNN and most other universities to come among the top 5 Nigerian universities with high demand due to sound academic excellence and research! You asked for it: At UNN, we do it in grand style. Dr Petra O. Nnamani of the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has attracted a Research Grant from GRAND CHALLENGES CANADA on a research topic "A low cost water-aid made from encapsulated Moringa Oleifera Seed extract with potential for mass-production and distribution to rural communities in South Eastern Nigeria" The Mimosa Pudica weed known in Nsukka as "Kpakorukwu and in Udi as Kpakochuku was resently discovered to have solar proporties suitable for the production of solar cell. This was disclosed by Pharm Nwaoga, Justus Amandianaze (Patent No: NG/P/2011/366 Certificate No: 00178), Chief Technologist in the department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, University of Nigeria Nsukka during his presentation at the 26th European Union Photovolataic Solar Energy conference and Exhibition held in Hamburg Germany, The Centre started effectively in 1982 along with the other Centres in the Country which are funded directly by the Federal Government. It is designed to be a Centre of excellence for research, development, dissemination and training in renewable, alternative and other energy technologies. It is presently active in the areas of Solar, Biomass and Coal energy utilization, energy consumption and energy policy studies CBSS is one of the six activity centres of National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja. It is charged with the responsibility of conducting fundamental research in Space Science (from Astronomy to Atmospheric Sciences), as well as coordinating such research activities in our Universities and Research Institutes. It was established in 2001, with the temporary site in UNN; the centre has its fenced permanent site also in Nsukka. A Nigerian professor at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, Francisca Okeke has won the 2013 laureate award for her contributions “to the understanding of daily variations of the ion currents in the upper atmosphere which may further our understanding of climate change.” |
Chino stop spamming this thread with these easy victories. Eselu paid for the trophies. Heh heh heh |
chinolization: Just look at this dunce. Do you know the stigma that graduates from ESUT, IMT even you so called UNN go through during NYSC? Do you even know how they treat average ESUT or IMT graduates out there? I am ever ready to expose this rot and under performance by Enugu based schools if you push your luck too far! This was the response I expected... Nothing in particular. You're starting to sound like that Abia otimkpu Obinalihe who just manufactures info whimsically. Provide specific examples to prove that NAU is the new UNN, or forever hold your peace. I won't fall for that gimmick to s start comparing ESUT to local ANSU. |
chinolization: It was not today that they overtook them, but UNN can still stage a come-back to its former glory! It takes hard-work and commitment! You keep staking these false claims. I will however refrain from recounting certain experiences of those bearing Anambra certificates during NYSC. This is so as not to feed Ndiofe with privileged information. So, Chino, zukwaa ike! |
spyder880: Actually I still feel bad about not being able to gain admission into the UNN, as a young person, they made it look like our degrees were worth much less than their'sAnd the emboldened is the summary of the whole argument. Ogonogo okwu adiro n'uka mgbede. ![]() I also tried severally to gain admission into UNN, and I succeeded at my 4th attempt. |
Rivers or Akwa Ibom receives nearly as much as the entire SE. Intetesting revelations. Nigerian states have so often escaped public scrutiny. |
Kogites, build a refinery in haste... Repent at leisure. ![]() |
ChrisOD: Did you say internet presence-based ranking is parochial? Pray tell how else do you make yourself known these days? How do you and I know about Harvard for example? I was in an international scientific meeting recently and the situation of UNN researchers in that meeting was pathetic. They complained about how the administration runs down the research funding there. Most paid with their own money to attend the meeting, unlike those from NAU, FUTA Akure, and even ABSU.Based on the data available from Webometrics, one can only say that "FUNAI, for example, has a better internet presence than UNN. To stretch that logic to mean that FUNAI is an overall better school than UNN is dangerous, especially in Nigeria. You've recounted a first hand experience, and I'm not gonna defend the school on that. I can only hope that UNN resumes sponsorship of scientific meetings. Lastly, you're welcome. ..Our Yoruba brothers doing what they know how best to do. Lol@how you sent Rossikki crying to his mother... |
ChrisOD: Okay since you are now comparing schools based on your last paragraph, how does UNN compare with its real peers elsewhere in Nigeria? What is its ranking in Africa relative to other Nigerian universities? I don't even want to go into specific details now as I am typing with a phone. The only available ranking is from Webometrics, and their sole parameter is internet presence---that's too parochial. The popular online ranking purportedly from NUC has been disowned by NUC. May be you fell prey to Yoruba hype. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/new/nuc-disowns-2013-nigerian-varsity-ranking/ |
ChrisOD: I am not comparing UNN with any other school. However it is obvious that UNN is underperforming and it is apt to want to know why.All schools in Nigeria are currently underperforming, no thanks to our jungle government. But, I'd like to know if there are specific instances you have in mind. Otherwise, UNN is still at the forefront of scientific research in Nigeria. Recently, Dr Nwoga's research has shown great promise in converting Mimosa into solar cells (He already has a patent for this) Two other lady scientists won the UNESCO prize for science. This is a modest feat considering that the University attracts the cream of the crop. Even the Teaching Hospital isn't left out; every Consultant wishes to work at UNTH (even though it's in a village in Nkanu/Awgu). Only when they're rejected do they consider NAUTH, FETHA or the FMCs in Umuahia and Owerri. In other words, UNN is in a different league altogether. Those pitching NAU up against UNN are not well informed. But it'd give me great joy if someday, another Eastern university will start to compare with Nsukka. But for today, there's no comparison! @Innoisback: Your assertion that UNN isn't merit-driven is hypocritical (which is really unlike you) Prof Ahaneku was nearly frustrated into relinquishing his victory as VC of NAU, simply because he was from Imo. In fact, a faction immediately formed, advancing an Anambra native as VC instead. Compare that with UNN where Anambra, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi lecturers have arisen to enviable positions, without let or hindrance. |
centje: You all gat joke. If UNN is not after merit, which University started post UTME? Who were the VCs through the years, under their watch, UNN became a shadow of itself?Food for Thought! Prof Nebo salvaged that school. And, Inno, you sound out-of-touch with reality. Only after 40+ years did the school have it's first Enugu indigenous VC, and he surpassed everyone's expectation. In his time, it became clear what Ginigaeme Mbanefo and his predecessors (excepting Ndili) had done to that school. In a word, our Igbo brothers who were picked on merit ended up ripping off the school. But it hasn't stopped Enugu from being a merit-driven state. Most recently, an eminent persona, Prof Ozumba has been elected VC. We hope he serves our university as he would his home state. |
