omaojo1: I was only submitting the official position. And for your info, it not because of any manipulation. There is nothing wrong in closing the price that way. CSL does it for FCMB, we do it for one coy, so go demystify further.
Confirmed. Up till 2.28pm, WAvg for FCMB was 4.00.

Chibuking81: Come to think of it, who are they really owner of access bank, I believe that former governor of Kwara state and immediate past governor of CBN has their hand on it, access NSE business to start again next year, that mean every thing is locked up till after election meaning next year february. Oando might join the league including some few others, cash at hand is king as for now till after election.
The conspiracy theories in your post are amusing. The elections are not till Feb.

Sir, where have you been? This has been in the news since the 4th of Sept. There is a Businessday article which is a copy paste of the vanguard one also. I hope it comes down this week.

basisop: Hello Experts here, please I want to invest N500,000 in stock market(i.e. to buy and sell when the prices increase) and I'm completely new in this form of investment which I had always ran away from considering how it crashed and dealt with investors in the past.
Please I need good advisors on how to begin what shares should I buy, sound broker to use amongst others. I'll appreciate any write up on my inquiries. Regards
Sir, you are very welcome. There is no expert on here, we are all comrades with the sole aim of increasing our net worth just like you. Regarding your investment, please ensure it is not funds which you may need urgently that you commit into this venture. Share prices may go up or down, so patience is key. Also be aware that in this business, you may lose more than the funds you invest. Aside of the investopedia website, the following may help:
https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/investing-in-shares
http://www.fool.com/investing/value/2006/01/12/just-due-it.aspx
Also, now is the time to leverage your research skills as you do your due diligence on any stock picks proffered on here. As knowledge is power, it may also be an extremely good idea to befriend anyone in your neighbourhood who works in a newspaper house (ask the people who saw the Ikeja Hotel ad recently). Regarding a broker, I will recommend Morgan Capital.

On IEI, the 2012 results released in May 14 grin can be accessed here http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/6176_INTERNATIONAL_ENERGY__AUDITED_2012_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_MAY_2014.pdf
On page 72 there is a N1,7bn figure and in the notes it states:
This is an investment in IEI Investment Limited. IEI Investment Limited was the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for facilitating the Investment in Heritage Bank Limited. The Note issued to IEI Plc by IEI Investment Limited is redeemable or convertible on 31 December 2013.The Notes gives the holder a right to surrender 100% of the note certificate or part thereof for conversion into ordinary shares of Heritage Bank Limited, the post acquisition entity that emerged from Societe Generale Bank Ltd at the end of the tenor. Mpeace: no worry, I go quote you very soon on this topic.
Sir, for your sake and the sake of everyone else here with positions in Oxygen, I hope I am proven wrong. Since the 1st of sept when I exited Oxygen, I know the ROI the funds I tied down in it have yielded. It has been a falling knife since then. This must be due to the rate of mopping up of the stock by you know who wink

omaojo1: @passwelle, did you notice your Access today. It was blinking red till the guy muzzled strength to close it at that level with about 20 million units. Guys are conversant with this ol trick and always wait to dump on them.
Haba, trust me I did. As at 14:28:56 Access had traded 8,558,927 units. 1 second later there was a deluge of trades and it closed with a total of 29,991,653 units traded. I documented the stream of trades at 14:28:57, but thought to spare the house the screen dumps as I exited Access fully yesterday, and didnt jump in today. I am a bit risk averse, something to do with believing that lightning doesn't strike in the same place more than 3 times grin

Aks: AMCON is set to name the winner of Enterprise bank BID next week (hopefully Monday). Is there anybody with useful info as to the likely winner of the BID. The info i have at my disposal is that HERITAGE bank is likely to be annouced but Sterling and Fidelity are also frontrunners to clinch the Bid. This will definitely affect share price and if we have this info ASAP, we can all smile to the bank. pls do your research
Your insider info was spot on.
http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/heritage-to-acquire-enterprise-bank-for-n56bn-fidelity-is-reserve-bidder/188819/
If Heritage is owned partly by a certain insurance firm, there may be movement in the insurance firms shares going forward.
The above is as forward looking as any forward looking statement. I do not have positions in said insurance firm.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by passwelle:
omaojo1: Yes, the market makers can actually close it at levels pre-agreed but that is not the case with this one. It is one firm that is in VI, that has the name of the street where the full elephant turned half is headquartered, as a name that does the bidding of AIG.
Activities here normally runs with Wapic-'volumewise' but Access is needed to achieve an end at the moment hence the continuous price rigging. Passwelle, thanks for consistently watching this. FCMB also does something similar albeit, in a less pronounced manner.
Oh really, so its them? I recall a while ago the EFCC picked up a former Deputy Gov with a similar sounding name as the street where they are headquartered.
Cowboyism is real!
If you cant beat them, and you are not here just to consistently watch then cautiously join them. I observed the intra day volatility and wasnt sure if they were just crossing off those last minute trades. I tried and successfully JIJO on 3 diff days with a net of c. 5% daily grin. Thus confirming they actually buy off from the market at c. 2.28 pm.
This is not a recommendation to do anything. Don't try this at home...

"Before he started Alibaba, he discussed the business opportunity with 24 of his friends in his house. After two hours, the verdict: 23 out of the 24 people in the room told him to drop the idea."

chukyjones: seems like its swinging back to bid..
don't be dismayed nor base your trading on the usual intermediate swings of the price of a stock within a trading day.. rather on fundametals and information... chukwuka
jamace: To tell you my mind, based on current developments in this company, I am NOT disembarking from this bus until it hits N3.00. Don't shout o. That is my investment risk appetite. If you can not withstand the pressure, bail out NOW o!

SKYQUEST: Bless you boss. In other words, some people are helping the stock price rather than let the market naturally do its job. Could this be the market makers or just some 'well wishers'? Anyway, I llkeep my eyes wide open!
Sir, Access closed at 9.80 today grin I can now confirm to the house that the last minute trades done on this stock are actually done on the market as opposed to cross trades.
