On GTB, KOD of SMN has this to say http://www.knightofdelta.com/2014/08/gt-bank-2014-half-year-results.html |
I don't think so. You may have to get one for each registrar. |
Yem0350: Good day house, did anybody knows ao much banks charged for bank signature confirmation?GTB charges N1000 |

Eterna Oil had subsidy related issues, with payments withheld. These might have been paid, and may be a boost to the half year numbers. I am not sure but I think similar payment boosted Mobil's figures in their H1 result. Also, not all the licenses they had to import refined products and export crude from previous years were renewed this year (not sure about the timeline for this though). or like @Agbalowomeri has stated they could have optimized business processes to increase profit margins. It has been in the "prophecy" list repeatedly, but didnt make the top 5 of said list in its most recent release . Hopefully @myjoy08 will join the discourse shortly. The political connections (i.e Tukur of PDP, Ribadu's Guber intentions, Subsidy probe/EFCC case, and Fola Adeola's guber intention) also make this an interesting stock. It has low OS, fairly sound management team, its quite liquid on the NSE and is in a good sector of the economy. It presently doesnt strike me as a falling knife or a moving train. Due diligence is required though. full disclosure: I hold positions in Eterna Oil. |
Unaudited though, but EPS of 75k for H1, on a stock of c. 4.00 with only 1.3 billion OS is quite promising ![]() All devoid of noise making, now thats Audacious! |

myjoy08: Sir Agbalowomeri, how would u feel if Oando declare dividend in their 2013 Audited results? Sometimes, i admire your wishes. U think Institutional investors buying Oando @26 or 27.39 naira presently don't know what they are doing ... Don't be surprised global stock market is ruled by insider trading and information!Fair enough. Many institutional investors bought at 36 naira also while some sold at 12 naira. So yes, they may not know what they are doing It is the reliability of the information that is always the key thing. Cowboys pump and dump by informing a few who inform many to buy or to sell as the case may be. If the result is not released on Monday, I will not be surprised.Disclosure: I own Oando and Transcorp shares. But, they constitute the most speculative positions in my portfolio. |
Agbalowomeri: The offloading wey go happen on Monday ehn! No go get part 2It has commenced already ![]() |
@ all Is anyone a member of any of these associations listed below? Does anyone know any member of the listed associations? How does one become a member? What is their business? Who are their directors etc ... kotlass: With Meritrade, once you execute a Sell mandate and it is successful you can trade with it immediately. Done that a couple of times. It should be possible with other online platforms too.Morgan Capital no longer credit daily sales till 2.30pm. I experienced this on Monday. You can however buy and sell same day but you wont be credited immediately |
myjoy08: I guess some people are still waiting for Transcorp @ 4 naira and Oando @ 20 naira? Well, let's see...I guess so too ![]() |
@kotlass and 4dchairman Thanks! na im be say e dey go primetime! |
jp130: plz wats d current price of transcorp nw6.00 Sir |
I think there are too many stop orders at 6.00 for Transcorp. Anyone with an idea of what is behind its new found burst of energy? Or is this a market response to the Chief Cowboys position as the chair of the UBA board? |

And Transcorp crosses 6.00 again. ![]() |
immanuello: @passwelleI do not understand what you mean by the bolded. Pls clarify. If I were in your shoes, I would take out names from my earlier post. The internet is an unforgiving place when it comes to identities. I can imagine how frustrated you may be, if things are as described by you. But remember, the individual whose identity you have disclosed here does not have a chance to tell their own side of the story. Said individual has managed your account before. Thus he may still have access to your profile details (name, DofB, address, phone no, photograph and banking info). Per adventure the individual is as vengeful as you, you may end up spending more energy and money to remedy the damage they may be capable of inflicting. That is what companies like this do http://www.reputation.com . As things stand you may also make yourself liable to a legal counter attack remember PUBLICATION + DEFAMATION + IDENTIFICATION = LIBEL |
@immanuello there are two sides to every story. You have presented yours. My advice is two fold. First of all, modify your post above and remove names. We have no idea of your identity so no need to disclose any person's identity on here. Secondly, if you have any form of correspondence/documentation that lends credence to your narrative above, you can take it up with your stockbroking firm. If that fails, you can try the NSE. And as a last resort, try the SFU or EFCC (the sums involved may however make this an exercise in futility). |
passwelle: Be wary of chasing a moving train, or catching falling knives. |
Elai147: I don't think short selling is practised in Naija. Not with margin accounts. However, If I sell enough volume of a stock sub market price, I may induce panic sales (herd mentality) and then return to take positions. |
Avantajj: This example is similar; my broker was privy to inform, I got to know but unlike the big boys I did not jump out. Because I followed the thinking that it might not work. "How dare OANDO reverse from 36 at the stage where the minister has signed it is simply impossible."Impossible is nothing. http://www.investopedia.com/university/shortselling/shortselling1.asp |
AbidemiA: Could you please provide the link?I think he meant the itrade Market orders view |
mercylicious: it doesnt work all the time. my old broker follows some big boys to invest. There was a time the Md of a bank bought their bank shares, come ad see how d big boys followed him and it the end, reverse was the case. They all lost in the deal. The Md may have bought for other motivesI agree it doesnt always work. In your example though I am sure the MD most certainly did not lose out. He was was probably a disciple of Albert H. Wiggin. mercylicious: Going forward,i feel insider trading in nse will be minimised . it isnt even advisable to trade your company shares , but u can invest for long term.Nigeria presently has no identity management system in place. Till this is implemented it will be near impossible to limit or minimise insider trading. KYC requirements for opening bank accounts or stock trading accounts are still lax imho. |
Avantajj: How silly are some peoples conclusions! Perceive themselves to be superman (never making errors, really?) or just no guys or balls to tell the truth. Just jive around using the word cowboy ( which means what exactly) because they have little to nothing invested.I do not think anyone percieves themselves as superman. In such an unregulated market as ours, NO ONE can be a superman really not even the longterm investors. Its more to do with understanding who the man or men behind the vision is and lastly the business. Which brings us to the definition of the word Cowboy (or men behind the vision). Dexterax defined this best and i paraphrase "they occupy the top echelon of management of flamboyant companies and there is always a disconnect between their words, their actions and press releases. However they always value their own interest over those of the other investors. For example the import of the disparity btw boe and bpd is that boe describes the amount of energy that is equivalent to the amount of energy found in a barrel of crude oil. The price 50k bpd will fetch you is not necessarily equal to the proceeds of selling 50k boe In saner climes a distinction is put on the terminology employed in press releases from Oil and Gas companies when they report this. No wonder I am yet to see OER which is listed on the TSX announce the increase to 62k bpd ![]() Someone here mentioned befriending your broker before the data crash, and that helped me a lot with Oando. Luckily one of my brokers who doesnt do realtime had the accounts of a senior member of the management of Oando in their portfolio. The Oando man was doing JIJO on an amazingly profitable scale ![]() Apologies for the monologue |

kotlass: Methinks the reporter is right wrt to the 50k "bpd" quote. My understanding is that what is produced is accounted for in bpd while that in reserves is estimated in boe. Crude oil being the product under consideration.http://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/barrelofoilequivalent.asp http://uk.mobile.reuters.com/article/idUKKBN0FZ29N20140730?irpc=932 It is not only crude oil that is under consideration. Conoco assets now taken up by OER had production distribution in the ratio of 62% crude oil, 34% natural gas and 4% natural gas liquids (condensates). If it is only crude oil the "bpd" unit is used and to avoid using multiple units of measurements for the diff phases of hydrocarbons "boe" is used. The 50k figure is made up of crude oil, condensates and natural gas. Oando does not yet produce 50k bpd of crude oil. This was one of the questions asked in the conference call. |
nitrogen: Abeg, why is Diamond rights trading at 1k? Strange!!!!!The rights closes today, so 1k today is probably because it won't be worth anything tomorrow ![]() @Agbalowomeri: I meant that if the rights were not excercised today it will be priceless following the subscription period. |
for the Oando faithful http://businessdayonline.com/2014/08/oando-targets-100000bpd-oil-production-in-5-years/ Wonder why the Nigerian reporters dont get it right, its 50k boe not bpd ![]() |
moyin2009: Please sir, where can i get access to this kind of trading info. i mean the site sir. thanksThat is a screengrab from Morgan Capitals iTrade platform. Register with Morgan Capital Securities to get access to it. Simples! |
