kotlass: To learn the ropes of stock investment, book recommendations or websites on stock investment would be better.
Obviously the individual in question has a massive chip on his shoulders. He wants us to cower because he has a 2.1 in Mechanical Engr and lacks basic research methodology grin.
Mallam blogger, web designer, entertainment mogul in late 20's with a 2.1, google is still your friend. The quoted text should be enough to start with.

Dexterax: Hmmm. These are serious considerations.

Bruv I think what you mean by the bolded is that more than 56m shares EXCHANGED HANDS, not sold right?
Yup, meant exchanged hands grin

omaojo1: 40% shares of the coy will be allotted to TCGL for atleast 75 kobo.
If the above is approved, a five year off take agreement will come in to effect where TCGL will buy 20,000 mt of FTN's processed or raw cocoa. Cosidering the fact that the installed capacity for FTN is 20,000 mt, the coy has a guaranteed mkt for its product in the next five yrs.
I am just playing devils advocate here. As in all transactions on the NSE there is money to be made.
Sir, any idea if AMCON had any representation at the meeting? Why doesnt AMCON just sell the 13% they own in the company to TCGL at that 75k instead of further dilution of the OS? Just wondering why the folks who sold the 56m plus shares today are all not aware of this. The last breakdown of shareholding in the company puts the number of shareholders at about 5877, with 4,305 of these shareholders owning just 52.8m shares. Also, did Meristem disclose that they own more than 47m shares in this company when they published that valuation? Whose approval is required now after the meeting?
I hope time proves me wrong on this FTN cocoa thing though grin.

dt one no concern me shaaa.
Union bank ke? Thought Bob just increased their holding to c. 30%. I was actually going to comment on how this didnt get announced through the NSE first unlike the Kunoch Holdings deal in Diamond.

ihedioramma: Is skye going to buy mainstreet? why did you say so, is there any thing wrong with access?.
Sir, I hope the above is what you were trying to ask as your post was a bit unclear
Apologies, I meant to say Enterprise Bank not Mainstreet. I read this a few weeks back, and from what has been published recently, AMCON hope to conclude the sale of the two banks by the 15th of Sept.

I am not aware that anything is wrong with Access grin

omaojo1: FTN Cocoa http://www.proshareng.com/news/24329

Plus a report from meristem puts the valuation at N1.18. The valuation was done by PAC capital and got KPMG's fairness approval.
Just read the proshare article and saw the advert. The resolution has not yet been passed, or has it? It will most likely however be passed.
On seeing such news, I wonder why the investors just did not bother to mop up the shares of the company that have been on offer since March at 50k to start with. I guess they would rather just pay 75k for each share. There is this story about the servant of a man who sold monkeys to villagers and told them his boss will be back shortly to buy them back ....
full disclosure: I do not own shares in ftn cocoa.

Believe what you want from the above. This is not a buy, sell, hold or mop up recommendation
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by passwelle:
dsonofmaan: Some peeps have been mopping up the stock from 4naira and it kept going down; dats some 60% depreciation.

I bought the stock about a month and a half ago, I sold it at 4% loss, bought transcorp and exited with 20% ROI.
You Sir are in this for the money! And you realise the time value of money. Kudos!
I was in a similar position with Skye, when they released their unimpressive result, I exited with a 7% loss on my positions, and increased my stake in Eterna. Then saw the result of Eterna on Friday, and when Oxygen refused to do the needful by midday on Monday, I exited Oxygen fully and further increased my stake in Eterna. When Eterna started to lose steam on Tuesday, I exited fully. The funds I locked up in Skye returned 18% with a net of 10% ROI (after offsetting the earlier loss of 7%). While my Oxygen funds have returned 8% net. Since then both Skye and Oxygen have been red, while my cash has remained king. This is not a buy, sell, hold or mop up recommendation.
No one can perfectly time Mr Market, as no one is perfect/related to Josephine I grin. But unless Skye win the bid for Mainstreet, I dont see any positive driver for the stock in the next month. I only mop up if a stock trades sideways for about 3-4 consecutive days i.e it adjusts to a new support and has relatively positive info around it e.g if Access remains under 9.3 today I may increase my position in it.
full disclosure: I no longer hold positions in Skye, Oxygen or Eterna pending future news on these and observing market reaction to such news. This is also not a recommendation to do anything with Access

jideflash: oando ooooooooooooo, give us our result na. or atleast a comforting statement to save us from high bp. haba cry
Sir, the following comforting words were released recently. Kindly take note.
4dchairman: From the above facts, my conservative valuation of OANDO is 40 NGN, so the stock is still undervalued.
myjoy08: Sir, i personally don't know where the issue of right is coming from talking of the price @ 15 Naira. I will assume is a self-wishes. Though, as far as i'm a little privilege to ve some information, Oando might come for right issue but NOT ANYTIME SOON!!!

Mpeace: I don't know whats pushing me, but I think its time for me to double my stake in Oando. Not just for the awaited result, but for the immediate subsequent one(ie 3rd qtr)
4dchairman: Still calculating the cost implication of the legal war vis a vis more acquisition of more shares of "RANCH plc"
Keep in mind the future dilution of your holdings Sirs. Everyone cites the astronomical rise in share price of FO after it found its footing and predict same for Oxygen. Others even compare it to Seplat on the basis of similar volume of produced hydrocarbons. Well, Seplat has OS of just over 500m while FO has OS of just over 1b. Yours truly already has OS of 8b, with more to come shortly.

Ugoobuz: My Oga, I might b wrong in my thinking... this new shares of transcorp hotel is a different entity that will b listed differently when completed. my worry is the #10 price wen the parent entity that has 88 percent equity sells below #7, let it not b the case of caverton that did IPO in 2008 for #8 and can't get to that price after listing and we should also not forget how long it took transcorp the parent company to trade above its IPO price.
Sir the Transcorp IPO was at #7.50, It hasnt traded above it in a long while.
As Dexterax pointed out, what is the way forward to stop him? grin

No one on here knows nada about Oxygen, not even our esteemed prophet. If they think they do, they have been deliberately misinformed or they are deliberately misinforming us. So lets not even start with any rights issue prices yet. We all are human and can make mistakes.

qizick: I sold my transcorp 30percent gain at 6.10 im really regretin is it wise to reinvest? I need to load
Ma, did you reinvest before 11am yesterday?
Transcorp is a good buy for long term. Someone here even informed us it will be priced at about 12 by the end of next week. Theoretically this is possible, if it gains c. 10% daily, it needs just 6 sustained days to get to this. Theoretically also it can return to the carpark in a similar number of days. However, those that jumped back on the train (after previously exiting profitably) before 11am yesterday may temporarily be in the position Isaac Newton was with his bubble (see my profile).
I appreciate our risk appetites differ (I was earning less than 2% on my ISA a few years ago cry), we should however also be cautious. These institutional investors want to make money, but of the top 30 most successful hedge funds in 2013, only 10 made more than 30% return. So why wont they dump (go short) when they get to that? As always, this is not a hold, buy or sell recommendation.

I hold positions in Transcorp.
