Christianity EtcDo Not Boast About Tomorrow by PastorAde(op): 12:35pm On May 18, 2010
Do Not Boast About Tomorrow

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the First and the Last (Revelation 22: 13).

My times are in Your hands (Psalm 31: 15a).

Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know not what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27: 1).

For none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be the Lord both of the dead and living (Romans 14:7-9).

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast or brag. All such boasting is evil. Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins (James 4: 13-17).

One of the great attributes of God is His ability to know the future. That is why He is called the Omniscient God – the all-knowing God. No mortal man has the ability to know tomorrow except by divine revelation from the Almighty God. That is why a mortal man should not boast about tomorrow.

In the first passage above Jesus addresses Himself as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the First and the Last. All these names mean the same thing. He is the Alpha, the Beginning and the First. As the Beginning, He existed with God before all other things created. He is also the Omega, the end and the Last. That means as the end, or the Last, He alone knows the future. Everything ends up in Him – “For of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things: to whom be glory for ever, Amen” (Romans 12:36). It is therefore a sin to boast about tomorrow, for no one knows what a day may bring forth. Having this knowledge, therefore, man ought to commit his life to the all- knowing God because out times are in His hands.

The first part of the fourth passage above says none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. This means if we are alive, we are the Lord’s responsibility. If we die, we are also the Lord’s responsibility. This is a food for thought. You and I cannot live our lives apart from God and cannot just boast about our future. Our future is in His hands. We are told in the second part of the fourth passage that “For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be the Lord both of the dead and living”.

Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead. As many as give their lives to Him and confess Him as Lord and Savior will be saved and end up in Him. As many as reject Him will be damned and have their part in hell. God did not prepare hell for man, but for satan and his angels. Those who accept Christ are only agreeing with God’s plan of salvation and a secure future for themselves. Will you be saved and secure? Will you end up in the Omega, the end, and the Last? If yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcGod's Services Are Provided Free Of Charge by PastorAde(op): 8:32am On May 15, 2010
God’s Services Are Provided Free of Charge

Nevertheless He left not Himself without witness, in that He did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness (Acts 14: 17).

Neither is worshipped with men’s hands as though He needed anything, seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things (Acts 17: 25).

He sends the spring into the valleys, which runs among the hills. They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst. By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. He waters the hills from His chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works. He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; and wine that makes glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart. He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows its going down. So is this great and wide sea, wherein are all things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. There go the ships (Psalm104:10-15, 19, 25-26).

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given (Isaiah 9: 6a).

For by grace you are saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2: 8-9).

In order that man may be without excuse, God has both human witnesses and nature witnesses to confirm His existence. Some of the human witnesses were used by God to write the Bible giving account of the creation of heaven and earth by God. They wrote about the story of Adam, the first of men who God put in charge to dominate the earth and rule over lesser creatures. They wrote about the fall of man and how all men were made sinners. They wrote about how God sent Jesus, the second Adam to die for the sins of the whole world and restore man back to God by His precious blood. They wrote about how nature also witness to God’s existence. Man is therefore without excuse.

In the first passage above we are told that God did good. He gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. This is a cycle. God sends rain from heaven- It makes the seeds planted by the farmer to be fruitful. When the crops are harvested, we have food and gladness. God also gives us life, and breath, and all things. These all things include, among others, springs of water, grass for the cattle, herb for the service of man, wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthen man’s heart. He gives sun to lighten the day, and moon to give light in the night. He created the sea with all the fishes and other creeping things. The ships use the sea as their highways. All of these services that man enjoys are provided freely by God! Have you ever paid for the rain, the seeds that produce food, your breath and the air? Have you ever paid for the sun by which God lightens the day or the moon by which you see in the night? There are abundance of fowls of the air and fishes in the sea. If you go – a fishing today, you will catch a lot of fishes in the sea. God gave man all these things freely to enjoy.
And to demonstrate His total love for man, He gave His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and save us. Salvation is a free gift of God. Romans 8:32 says: He(God) that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?.
Will you accept the free gift of God? Will be saved? If yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior, in Jesus’ Precious Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcAre You Born Again? by PastorAde(op): 10:22am On May 04, 2010
Are You Born Again?

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6)

If you are born again, it will show in various compartments of your life. It will affect your desires, priorities, goals and association. In John 3:6, Jesus says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”. Every human being experiences a fleshly birth. Even if it were possible to enter your mother’s womb and be reborn, it is a fleshly biological birth. But there is a spiritual birth. It is when you take a trip to the womb of the Spirit and you are born a new creation. That is the new birth. Without this, man is lost. One thing about this spiritual birth is that it will stir up intense hunger for spiritual things. A young secondary school student was in form four when he became born again during the holidays.

Thereafter, he returned to his former church but it was no longer fun. The religious activities he used to enjoy now became a drab. He began to thirst after righteousness but was not satisfied. He felt like someone being starved. He soon saw himself like a stranger in a church he attended from his childhood. At some point, he went to counsel with his spiritual parents and was asked to move to a gospel church. That was where his spiritual needs were met.

The day you are born again something dies. You claim to be born again yet you still keep girl friends, smoke, steal, cheat, or fornicate. That claim is highly questionable. You claim to be born again yet you do not pant after spiritual things – to study God’s Word, pray, fast, read Christian books, fellowship within a living church, etc. It is either you are born again or you are not. There is nothing like partially saved. Ask some people why they claim to be born again and they will tell you, “l used to chain-smoke but now I take just one cigarette daily”. Or, “ I used to have several girl friends but now I have one”. Or, “ I used to demand bribes before but now I only receive the one I am given: after all, I did not ask for it’. Congratulations. You are getting close to the Kingdom of God. But the day you truly realize you are a sinner, confess and forsake your sins and receive Jesus into your heart, you will be saved. That day you will begin to notice some changes taking place from within. There is no New Birth without commensurate change.

Christianity EtcThe Power Of Forgiveness by PastorAde(op): 9:28am On Apr 30, 2010
The Power of Forgiveness

If You, Lord should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared (Psalm 130: 3-4).

I, even I, am He that blot out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not remember your sins (Isaiah 43: 25).

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgive all your iniquities; who heal all your diseases (Psalm 103: 2-3).

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors… For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 6:12, 14-15).

Then said Jesus, Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. And they parted His raiment, and cast lots (Luke 23:34).

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1: 8-9).

The ability or power to forgive sins is one of the greatest attributes of God. It is the nature of love to forgive. And God is love. Where will the world and the people of the world be today if God doesn’t forgive His creatures? We’ll all be wallowing and languishing in hell. But God is love and that was why He sent Jesus into the world to die in our place that we might receive forgiveness for our sins through the precious blood of Jesus shed for all humanity.

If God should begin to mark each of our sins, who shall stand? The answer is nobody. But there is forgiveness with God, so that He may be feared. And God has another additional attribute. When He forgives, He also forgets. That is what the second passage above says. When we truly confess our sins to God, He forgives, blots them out and forgets. What a good and loving God.

Apart from Jesus dying for our sins on the cross of Calvary, He demonstrated that love and forgiveness by praying to God to forgive His killers. He prayed to God; Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. What God is not capable of doing, He will not command us His creatures to do. Jesus commands us in Matthew 6:14 to practice forgiveness as He does. When we pray our Lord’s Prayer, it says: “forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” Then Jesus said: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses”. If God forgives our sins when we confess them to Him, we should be able to forgive those that offend us too. If we refuse to forgive men their sins, God will not forgive us too. That means our sins remains and if we die in that state we go to hell. Unforgiveness is the greatest hindrance to the blessings of God. It blocks our prayers. But when you forgive like God, you are not only releasing yourself and the offender, you are also opening heaven so that your prayers can be answered. The power of forgiveness is what keeps the world going. God is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish but come to repentance. If you will confess your sins to God today.

He will forgive you, wash away your sins by the blood of Jesus and write your name in the book of life. Then you too should extend that same forgiveness to your fellow human beings that offend you. When you do that, you are truly a child of God. Do you want to receive forgiveness? Then pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. I receive your grace to forgive my offenders in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcWhere Do You Belong? by PastorAde(op): 12:21pm On Apr 27, 2010
Where Do You Belong?

Therefore the Lord God sent Him (Adam) forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from where he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life (Genesis 3: 23-24, emphasis added).

You turn man to destruction; and say, Return, you children of men (Psalm 90:3)

Giving thanks to the Father, which has made us meet (qualified) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1: 12-14, emphasis added).

Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince (i.e. satan) of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience (Ephesians 2: 2, emphasis added).

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His (Roman 8: 9b).

After Adam committed the sin of disobedience against God by eating the forbidden fruit, he was driven out of the garden of Eden and barred from the tree of life. Instead of experiencing God’s abundant life and blessing, he and his offspring began to experience death and destruction. By his act of disobedience, Adam handed over his power and glory to satan (see Luke 4: 6). Satan then became the god of this world instead of Adam. But in the second passage above, God commands the children of men to return to Him.

When Adam was driven away from God’s presence, he lost fellowship with Him. He came under the influence and dominion of the devil. Man can be under two dominions – the dominion of God or the dominion of the devil. Adam, due to his disobedience to God’s command, came under satan’s dominion and so all his offspring. But God in Psalm 90: 3b commands all men to return to Him in order to be under His kingdom and dominion. But how shall this be accomplished and actualized?

Jesus came into the world as the second Adam. He obeyed God in every detail. He too was tempted by satan and He overcame where Adam failed. He lived a sinless life. He went to the cross of Calvary and died for the sins of the whole world in obedience to God. He defeated the devil and got back the power and glory Adam delivered to him. He rose up from the dead having triumphed over sin, satan and death itself. He got the victory for every man. Through Jesus, humanity can now obey Psalm 90: 3b. Humanity can now return to God through Jesus Christ; for He is the way, the truth and the life, no man can go to God but by Him (John 14: 6).

As long as you have not returned to God still living in sin, you are in the kingdom of darkness being dominated by satan. Apart from sin, satan also afflicts those under him with sickness and diseases. As long as you remain in disobedience to Psalm 90: 3b, satan uses his remote control to work in you all manner of evil. But there is a good news. You don’t have to be under satan’s control. Once you surrender to God’s Word by this gospel, you’ll be delivered from the power of darkness and be translated into the Kingdom of God through the redemption in the blood of Jesus. Your sins will immediately be forgiven and God will remember them no more. You’ll become a new creature and now under the dominion of God.

Where, O reader, do you choose to belong? In God’s camp and His kingdom or in satan’s camp and his kingdom of darkness? There is no middle position. You either belong to God or the devil. Jesus once rebuked the Pharisees who wanted to kill Him saying to them: “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and father of it” (John 8:44).

When you return to God through Jesus Christ, you then have the Spirit of Christ. But those who have not the Spirit of Christ are none of His. That means they belong to the devil. Where do you belong? To whom do you belong? If your choice is God and His kingdom, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for translating me into your Kingdom through the redemption in your blood in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcNow Is The Accepted Time by PastorAde(op): 6:21pm On Apr 25, 2010
Now Is the Accepted Time

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1: 1).

And He said to me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely (Revelation 21: 6).

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted (Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2).

For He (God) says, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored (helped) you: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6: 7, emphasis added).

One of the precious gifts of God to man is the gift of time. As a matter of fact, time is the measurement of lifespan on earth. According to the first Scriptures above, to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven. There is a time to be born, and a time to die. There is a time to plant and a time to harvest that which is planted.

From the moment God created the heaven and the earth, time began. Then all creation was put in place. Genesis 1: 26a records the creation of man – “And God said, Let us create man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion …” The first man God created on earth was Adam and then his wife, Eve. God gave Adam a commandment of what fruit of the trees to eat and the fruit of knowledge of good and evil he was to abstain from eating. Adam disobeyed God through the deception of satan and ate of the forbidden fruit. He died spiritually and was driven out of the Garden of Eden. Through the disobedience of Adam all men were made sinners. But God had a solution.

At the fullness of time, God sent forth Jesus Christ His Son into the world to redeem all men by the shedding of His blood (Galatians 4: 4-5). This fullness of time kick-started the accepted time or the day of salvation. The accepted time or the day of salvation spans from the time Jesus was born into this world till the rapture or catching up of the church of God to heaven. We are now living in the accepted time or the day of salvation. In this accepted time and in this day of salvation the gospel of the kingdom of God is being preached, persuading every man and woman to believe in Jesus Christ, who came to die for the sins of the whole world. Those who believe will be saved, and those who believe not will be damned (Mark 16: 16).

The rapture of the church will signify the end of the accepted time and the day of salvation, after which the time of tribulation or time of trouble will commence. In that day, the antichrist will arise in this world and hell will be let loose on earth. This will be a time of trouble unprecedented in the history of the world (Daniel 12: 1). The troubles going on in the world today will be nothing compared to what will befall this world at that time. That is why in this day of salvation, you must believe the gospel so that you and your household will be saved and caught up to heaven to escape the tribulation coming upon this world.

Will you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and be saved? Will you be caught up to heaven to escape the tribulation? If yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. I accept You in this accepted time, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcThe Most Important Person On Earth by PastorAde(op): 1:25pm On Apr 21, 2010
The Most Important Person on Earth

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts (living creatures), and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb (Christ) as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation5:6, emphasis mine).

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7)

If the question is asked: Who is the most important person on earth? A lot of names will be suggested by various peoples and groups that make up the earth’s populace. After these names are suggested, the question may be subjected to an opinion poll whereby people vote to be able to determine who is the most important person on earth.

In order to be able to determine the most important person on earth, we all have to realize and admit that someone created the heaven and earth and the inhabitants thereof. This earth and the inhabitants belong to someone and that Person is the Lord God.

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:1)

Now, the things created cannot be greater or more important than the Creator. The Creator of heaven and earth is a Person and that Personality is God. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (1 John 5:7).

To be able to prove without any shadow of doubt as to who is the most important person on earth let’s consider this analogy and question. Dear reader, what is the most important thing in your body as a living soul? Is it your brain, your head, your nose, or your hands? Is it your legs, your stomach, or your mouth? The answer to all these is No! The most important thing in the body of a living soul is your breath! Once that breath is gone you are dead. It is the breath that makes every other part of the body to function. But who gave man his breath? Let us consider the creation of the first man Adam again.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

After God formed man of the dust of the ground, He then breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. It is the breath of life that made the man alive. Now, what is the breath of life that proceeded from God? It is the Holy Spirit Himself! The breath in every man is the breath of life from God; and that breath of life is the Holy Spirit! This truth is a poser to those who say there is no God. The breath that is in you is a proof that there is God. Hear this Scriptures:

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is the Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands…, For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring. (Acts.17: 24, 28).

The above Scriptures reveal to us that God made heaven and earth and everything therein; and that He dwells not in temples (houses) made with human hands. Where then does He dwell? He dwells in temples made by His own hands – human bodies. How? By His breath or His Holy Spirit. The latter part of the above Scriptures reveals to us that in Him we live, and move, and have our being. That means without Him – without His breath – we cannot live, and move, and have our being.

Understand that God the Holy Spirit is a Person. And He has been sent forth into all the earth (see Rev. 5:6 above). That makes Him the most important Person on earth because the creatures (humans) cannot be greater or more important than the Creator. Understand that God the Father is in heaven now. Jesus Christ is sitting on His right hand. But the Holy Spirit has been sent forth into all the earth. Why did God send Him into all the earth? So that He can be inside every temple God has made – the human bodies. This is the will of God that the Holy Spirit is in every person on earth. But who are the recipients of this most important Person on earth? – Those who believe in Jesus Christ.

12. But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: 13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13)

How good to know and realize that the most important Person on earth intends to live in you. Who will not want that? But for him to live in you, your house (body) must be clean from all sins and filthiness. The blood of Jesus has been shed on the cross of Calvary to take away the sins of the whole world. This Jesus did for every man and woman including you O reader.

Will you be washed? Will you be cleansed? Will you be saved? Will you have the most important Person on earth to live inside you? If so pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins with your precious blood. Write my name in the book of life. Holy Spirit, come and live inside me. Make me your temple, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcYou Too, Can Be Saved by PastorAde(op): 10:08am On Apr 20, 2010
You Too, Can Be Saved

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst (1Timothy 1: 15, emphasis added).

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer (evil speaker), and a persecutor, and injurious (violent): but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief (1 Timothy 1: 12-13, emphasis added).

I exhort therefore that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2: 1-3, emphasis added).

Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Act 4:12).

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness (slowness); but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3: 9, emphasis added).

And Jesus said to him (Zacchaeus), This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19: 9-10, emphasis added).

The main or the chief reason why Jesus came into the world is clearly spelt out in the first and last Scriptures above – to save sinners that are lost. And Jesus came for all classes in the society – the rich, the poor, the old, the young, men and women, boys and girls – no group, no tribe, no nation, no religious affiliation, are exempted. He came for all.

In the third passage above, Paul admonished Timothy to pray and intercede for all men, kings, and those that are in authority, for God will have all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. We also see in 2 Peter 3: 9, that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God has already done His own part in providing salvation for all men through Jesus Christ. Men’s part is now to believe in Jesus Christ and be saved. It does not matter what sins you have committed, God is merciful and can forgive you. Take, for example, Paul the Apostle. He described himself as the worst of sinners. He was before a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a violent man. But he obtained the mercy of God and got saved. Jesus Christ appeared to him on his way to Damascus and he was forgiven and converted. Jesus then enabled him and put him in the ministry. What a complete turnaround! Now, if God can save the worst sinner, there is no sins you have committed that God cannot forgive. Hear what God says in Isaiah 43: 25: “I, even I, am He that blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not remember your sins”.

Will you take God at His word? Will you confess your sins to God and be saved? Will you have a complete turnaround like Apostle Paul? If yes, pay this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcThe Humility Of God by PastorAde(op): 12:22pm On Apr 14, 2010
The Humility of God

5. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. 6. Who, being in the nature of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7. but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death – even the death of the cross! 9. Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above every name. 10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12. Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13. For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. (Philippians 2: 5-13).

In the above passage, Paul emphasizes how Jesus left incomparable glory in heaven and took the humiliating position of a servant, becoming obedient to death to benefit others. Christ humility of heart and mind must be found in His followers and would be followers, who are called to live sacrificially, and unselfishly caring about others and doing well to them.

Consider the humility of God who created heaven and earth. He became man in the person of Jesus Christ, obeyed His Father and died sacrificially on the cross of Calvary for the benefit of the whole humanity. In making Himself nothing, He emptied Himself by laying aside His heavenly glory, position, riches, rights, and use of His divine attributes. This emptying Himself meant not only a voluntary restraint on His divine capacities and privileges, but also an acceptance of suffering, misunderstanding, ill-treatment, hatred and a cursed death on the cross. In His sacrificial death, He shed His blood to take away the sin of the whole world. Because of His obedience, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him a name above every other name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

In this passage we see the following sequence about the life of Jesus Christ. Humility – obedience – exaltation. The opposites are true for satan .Pride – disobedience – humiliation. Whose example will you follow or emulate? Those who emulate the virtues of Jesus by humbling themselves to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be exalted to heaven. Those who are proud, pompous and disobedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ are knowingly or unknowingly emulating satan and will be demoted into hell. I pray this will not be your lot O reader.
Who will in their right mind reject what Jesus has accomplished for the whole world on the cross of Calvary? Who in their right mind will say no to God and to heaven? Choose this day between humility and pride. Choose this day between heaven and hell. If your choice is positive, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I accept and confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcYou Are Of More Value Than Many Sparrows by PastorAde(op): 12:39pm On Apr 12, 2010
You Are Of More Value than Many Sparrows

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every thing that creeps upon the earth (Genesis 1: 26).

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; What is man, that You are mindful of him? And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and has crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; You have put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yes, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the sea (Psalm 8: 3-cool.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear you not therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows (Matthew 10: 29, emphasis added).

Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever, Amen (Rev. 1: 5b-6).

Of all God’s creatures, only man was made in the image and likeness of God. Man is therefore superior to and king over every other creatures. The purpose of man is clearly spelt out in the first two Scriptures above – that purpose is to have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. All of these other creatures including the whole earth have been put under the feet of man! What a great purpose! But the first man Adam lost the dominion when he was deceived of the serpent, the devil. He sinned against God by disobeying His command not to eat of the forbidden fruit. He therefore fell short of the glory and honor with which he was crowned of God. This fall affected every offspring of Adam but God had a solution.

The solution God had was to send the second Adam, Jesus Christ. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven (1 Corinthians 15: 47). The Lord Jesus Christ came to restore man back to his former glory and honor so that man can once again exercise dominion over every other creature and the whole earth. He reminded men of their value in Matthew 10: 29 when He said “you are of more value than many sparrows”. You are so valuable to God to the extent that the very hairs of your head are all numbered! How true these statements are! God knows every detail about you and He cares for you. But how shall man be restored back to the former glory, honor and dominion that Adam had? The answer is found in Revelation 1: 5-6 above. Jesus Christ loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood and has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father. Will you accept the finished work of redemption? Will you be restored as kings and priests unto God? Will you once again exercise dominion over lesser creatures and over all the earth? Will you be washed and made whiter than snow? If yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Restore me to my former glory and honor in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcDon't Be Hardened Against God by PastorAde(op): 9:32am On Apr 08, 2010
DON’T BE HARDENED AGAINST GOD

He (God) is wise in heart, and mighty in strength; who has hardened himself against Him, and has prospered? (Job 9: 4, emphasis mine).

For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand, Today if you hear His voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My work. Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known My ways. To whom I swore in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest (Psalm 95: 7-11).

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door; I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3: 20).

A new heart will I give you, and a new Spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36: 26).

One of the greatest gifts God the Creator gave to man is the ability to choose. God does not enforce His will on humans. When God created Adam He gave him this commandment: “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die” (Genesis 2: 16-17, emphasis added). Note the use of the word “you may freely eat”. God is not a dictator. He gave man a free will. That makes man a free moral agent. Adam disobeyed this commandment which, if he had kept, he would have been alive today. But rather, he hardened himself against God’s commandment and lost out. He was driven out of the Garden of Eden. Not only that, he lost fellowship and intimacy with God. He lost the very life of God and died spiritually. He became a sinner – and so all his descendants. For this cause, humanity was plunged into hardship, sorrow, death and poverty. No man can harden himself against God, or His word, and prosper.

In the second passage above, we are told not to harden our hearts when we hear God’s voice. The fathers of the nation of Israel hardened their hearts in unbelief against God. For forty years, God was grieved with them. Because of the hardness of their hearts they did not enter God’s rest, i.e. the promise land. We ought to learn from this episode. We ought to learn from the mistake (i.e. the disobedience) of Adam and the resultant consequences upon humanity – sorrow, pain, hardship, death – and everything negative. At the same time we ought to learn from the obedience of Jesus Christ which brings salvation, healing, joy, blessing, righteousness – and every good thing – to those who open the doors of their hearts and hear the voice of Jesus so that He can dwell in them. To those who open their hearts, the stony heart of flesh is removed and they are given the heart of flesh so that the Spirit of God can dwell in them. The word of God is profitable for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. Those who harden their hearts in unbelief will be destroyed without remedy. Those who yield their hearts and receive Jesus into their hearts will be saved. Will you be saved and experience God’s prosperity and rest? Will you enter into God’s blessings forevermore? If so, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Savior and Lord in Jesus Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcThe Good Thing About This Friday by PastorAde(op): 12:01pm On Apr 02, 2010
The Good Thing about This Friday

Surely He (Jesus) has borne our griefs (sickness), and carried our sorrows (pains): yet we did esteem (consider) Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes (whip-lashes) we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53: 4-6, emphasis mine).
Who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree (cross), that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness: by whose stripes (lash-wounds) you were healed (1 Peter 2: 24, emphasis mine).
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3: 13-14).
When Jesus therefore has received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost (John 19: 30).

Today is the day referred to worldwide as Good Friday. It marks the day Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, not for His own sin, because He committed none, but for the sins of the whole world. On that day, He carried the sins of the whole world, their griefs or sickness, their sorrows or pains, and nailed it on the cross. He became our substitute on the cross and was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities. For the sake our peace, He was chastised. He was whipped 39 times that we might be healed. On that day the curse of the whole world – sin, sickness, poverty, spiritual death – was nailed to cross because, according to Jewish law, cursed is every one that hangs on a tree. Because every curse has being nailed to the cross, all who believe in Jesus can now have the full blessing of Abraham.
On the cross also, Jesus destroyed death and him that has the power of death i.e. the devil. He (Jesus) spoiled satan and his demons and made a public show of them triumphing over them. By His blood, He redeemed humanity from sin, satan, sorrow, sickness, and obtained eternal salvation for us. All these happened on that fateful Friday. Before Jesus finally died on that Friday, He said, it is finished. What was finished? Death is finished, satan is finished, sin is finished, sickness is finished, curse is finished, and sorrow and everything satan afflicted the world with is finished! What good news! And that is the good thing about this Friday we are marking today. Jesus by His death on the cross shed His blood to reverse and destroy satan’s plan for humanity and He brought about salvation, redemption, peace, joy healing and every good thing for humanity. Will you be saved? Will you be healed? Will you experience God’s blessings? Do you accept the finished work of salvation? If so, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Savior and Lord. I accept the finished work of salvation. Thank you for this Good Friday in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcHow To Pass From Death Unto Life by PastorAde(op): 3:48pm On Mar 15, 2010
How to Pass from Death unto Life

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die. (Genesis 2:17)

Verily, verily, I say to you, he that hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life. (John 5:24, emphasis mine).

And you will not come to Me, that you might have life. (John 5:40)

Verily, verily, I say to you, If a man keep (obey) My saying, he shall never see death. (John 8:51)

The first scriptural passage above relates God’s word to Adam, the first man created. When Adam disobeyed God by eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he died spiritually, though he was still alive physically. Subsequently, he was driven out of the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:24). The fellowship he had hitherto enjoyed with God was broken. His spirit was cut off from the life of God. This is the state of spiritual death. Since Adam is the first man created, all his progeny (i.e. descendants) inherited spiritual death, which is separation from God.

Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Roman 5:12, emphasis mine)

How then can we pass from the state of spiritual death unto life? In the second passage above Jesus said: “Verily, verily, I say to you, he that hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life”. So by hearing the words of Jesus, and believing in the God that sent Him, you have everlasting life, and shall not come into eternal condemnation; but you are passed from death to life. In other words, for you to have a pass mark in this life, you must hear and believe in the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ and believe in the Father that sent Him. All those who reject Jesus and His word reject their means of eternal salvation and are thus condemned.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (exposed) (John 3:19-20).

Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12a), and His word is lamp to our feet, and a light to our path (Psalm 119: 105). The light of God’s word, if received and believed, dispels spiritual death and darkness out of the human spirit; and eternal life, which is the life of God, is immediately or instantaneously imparted. This is how to pass from death unto life. Will you like to pass from death unto life? If yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior, and by faith I receive eternal life in my spirit, Amen.

Christianity EtcAll Souls Are Mine by PastorAde(op): 2:05am On Mar 13, 2010
All Souls are Mine

The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof (all it contains); the world, and they that dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods (Psalm 24:1-2, emphasis added).

Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the souls that sins, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:4, emphasis added).

The word “Lord” in the first passage above is the Hebrew word Adon, from where we get the name Adonai. It means Owner. We can then rephrase the first passage above thus: The earth is the Lord’s (Owner’s), and all it contains; the world, and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:1). This means the Lord God owns the earth, and all it contains including the souls of men. Why? Because He created all things including mankind. Let’s see how He created man.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

Adam was the first man to be created. God gave him a commandment or a rule to live by. "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die" (Genesis 2: 16-17).

Adam and Eve disobeyed the above commandment and became separated from God and eventually died. Since they are the progenitors of the human race, i.e. our first parents, every other member of the human race inherited the sin nature from them.

For as by one man’s (Adam) disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One (Jesus, the second Adam) shall many be made righteous (Romans 5:19, emphasis mine).

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51: 5, emphasis added).

God declared in Ezekiel 18:4 above “All souls are mine, the souls that sins it shall die”. Whether you are a Christian or Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu, atheist or traditional religionist your soul belongs to God, for, He created you. We are all the offspring of Adam, the first man. And God said the soul that sins shall die. This decree of death for the soul that sins was fulfilled in the first Adam, and all his offspring till date. What then is the antidote of death? The answer is right there in Romans 5:19b, the Scripture quoted above – So by the obedience of One (Jesus) shall many be made righteous (Romans 5:19b, ).

Jesus Christ the second Adam came to this world to seek and to save that which was lost (see Luke 19:10). He became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Through His death and the shedding of His blood, He saved us sinners (see I Timothy 1:15).

Remember the soul that sins shall die. If any one dies as a sinner he (or she) goes to hell. But God has already provided salvation through Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world (the people of the world), that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16.

How then shall your soul be saved? This is very simple.

But what says it? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith which we preach; That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:8-10, emphasis added).

To be saved, you have to believe in your heart the Lord Jesus, and confess Him as your Lord (Owner) and Savior. Once you make that confession of Jesus as your Lord (Owner) and Savior, you are immediately saved from the kingdom of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God, in whom you have redemption through the blood of Jesus, even the forgiveness of your sins.

What happens to those who don’t make that confession that Jesus is their Lord and Savior? Knowingly or unknowingly they are agreeing that satan is their lord and god. For, he satan, is the god of this world of sinners (see 2Corintians 4:4a). How did he become the god of this world? Adam the first man was created and given dominion (i.e. government, leadership, and rulership) over the earth (see Genesis 1:26, 28). But when he disobeyed God through the deception of satan, he sold out or delivered his dominion to satan (see Luke 4:6). Satan then became the god of this world instead of Adam. This dominion which Adam lost is what Jesus came to restore. So those who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, are saved and delivered from the power and dominion of the devil and translated into God’s king - dom and become kings having dominion once again over this domain called earth (see Revelation 1: 5b-6).

Are you ready to be saved and translated into the kingdom of God? Then pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins in your precious blood shed for me on the cross of Calvary. Make me whiter than snow. Right now, I believe you in my heart and confess you as my Lord, Owner, and Savior. Write my name in the book of life, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcGod Is Not A Liar by PastorAde(op): 11:41pm On Mar 11, 2010
God Is Not A Liar

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23: 19, NIV)

This is the one who came by water and blood – Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which He has given about His Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in His heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. (1 John 5: 6-10, NIV, emphasis added)

In the first Scriptures above from the book of Numbers, we are told that unlike man, God does not lie. His words can be trusted. When He speaks, He acts, when He promises a thing, He fulfills His word.

In the second passage above, the Bible – God’s Word – tells us that Jesus Christ came by water and blood. The Holy Spirit testified of these because the Holy Spirit is truth. What does the phrase “came by water and blood mean? When Jesus was baptized in water by John the Baptist, the Bible has this to say: “When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. And a voice from heaven: You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:21-22). When Jesus was baptized, God spoke by the Holy Spirit to affirm and confirm that Jesus was God’s Son. This is the meaning of the phrase: “Jesus came by water”.

As for the phrase: “Jesus came by blood” let’s consider some Scriptures: “The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it (Apostle John) has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. These things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of His bones will be broken,” (see Isaiah 34:20) and as another Scripture says in Zechariah 12:10b, “They will look on the one they have pierced” (John 19:32-37, emphasis added). Jesus was crucified for the sins of the whole world, and His legs were not broken to confirm the veracity (truthfulness, honesty or accuracy) of the various Scriptures referred to above. While he was still on the cross of Calvary, one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear bringing a flow of blood and water.

God, who cannot lie, inspired holy men to write the Scriptures by the Holy Spirit. Everything He says in His word is true. Jesus came by water and blood. His blood was shed to save and redeem the whole world of men and women He created in His image.

Whose testimony will you believe? Whose words will you believe? The words of God that are true or the words of satan who deceives the whole world? If you believe and embrace the truth, the truth will make you free and you will have your name written in God’s book of life. If you reject the truth, you’ve embraced the lie of satan and the lie will enslave you and your name will be omitted from the book of life. Will you embrace the truth?

Then pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life in Jesus Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcYour Entire Body Is God's Property by PastorAde(op): 11:42am On Mar 10, 2010
Your Entire Body is God’s Property

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them (Genesis 1:26).

For by Him (Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him (Colossians 1:16, emphasis added).

What? Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (1Cor. 6:19-20, emphasis added).

God is the creator and owner of heaven and earth and everything therein. All things were created by Him and for Him – including human beings, male and female. The body of man ought to be the temple of God the Holy Spirit. This was the case with Adam, the first of men. He was full of the Holy Spirit until he ate of the forbidden fruit God commanded him not to eat. Due to his disobedience, he was driven out of the Garden of Eden and God withdrew His Holy Spirit from him (Gen. 3: 24a; Psalm 51:11). Consequence to Adam’s expulsion from the Garden of Eden, he died spiritually and eventually physically at the age of 930. If Adam had not eaten the forbidden fruit, death would not have entered the world and he would have lived forever up till today. Adam’s sin and disobedience opened the door for death to enter the world. With the entrance of death into the world due to sin, the human body, which is supposed to be the temple of God, ceased to serve its original purpose. But God had a solution.

God prepared a body for Himself – a body that is sinless and undefiled – a body filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. He prepared this body by overshadowing the Virgin Mary with the Holy Spirit. That holy thing was conceived in her and she gave birth to Jesus. Unlike fallen men and women, Jesus was not born by sexual union between Joseph and Mary. H e was not conceived in sin. He had a divine virgin birth. He had the fullness of God’s Spirit. He was/is the ideal temple of God bodily. He was the only man who lived without committing any sin. He was therefore qualified to be the spotless Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Not only did He die to take away the sin of the world, He also redeemed or bought the whole world with the price of His blood. This is the meaning of the last Scriptures above from 1Cor. 6:20. Understand, O reader, what Jesus accomplished for you and me on the cross of Calvary. He redeemed or bought us with His precious blood. He bought our entire bodies and spirits with His precious blood. Our bodies and spirits do no longer belong to us but to Him. Why? So that we can become His temple (1Cor.6:19).

Now that you know what Jesus accomplished for you on the cross of Calvary and that your entire body is God’s property, will you surrender and yield your body and spirit to the loving arms and grace of God? Somebody may ask; how do I do that? It’s very simple. Romans 10:9-10 says: “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” If you make this decision you have nothing to lose but eternity with Jesus to gain. He’ll wash away your sins with His blood and fill you with His Holy Spirit so that you can become His holy temple. If your answer is yes to the question asked pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Christianity EtcWhat Will You Give To God? by PastorAde(op): 2:41pm On Mar 09, 2010
What Will You Give To God?

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is the Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshiped with men’s hands, as though he needed; any thing, seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things; (Act 17: 24-25, emphasis added).

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16, emphasis added).

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: (Isaiah 9: 6a, emphasis added)

My son, give me your heart, let your eyes observe my ways. For a LovePeddler is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit (Proverb 23: 26-27, emphasis added).

I beseech (beg) you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present (offer) your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1, emphasis added).

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door; I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20).

God is a giver. It is His nature to give. He made the world and all things therein, He gives to all life, and breath, and all things. Come to think of it. Look at your body. Did you create any member in it? Did you give yourself your breath? Look at your environment - The dust of the earth, the river that flows in the sea, the rocks, the mountains, the air, the sun and the moon, etc, - God created and gave all these for the enjoyment and benefit of man. And to demonstrate His total love for the whole world, God gave His only begotten Son to die for our sins. This is the greatest gift of God to man – His Son Jesus Christ – And whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

If God is the creator and giver of all things that means the devil created nothing and can give nothing but sin, sorrow and death. What, then, does God expect you His creature to give back to Him? The answer is found in the fourth and fifth Scriptures above, namely: your heart and your body which He created and owns. Why does God require these from you? Of course, for your own good. If you will give your heart to God He will come into you and make you His dwelling place and you will be guaranteed a place in heaven. If you will offer your body to Him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto Him, He will accept you as His son or daughter. He will dwell inside you, cleanse you and you will be guaranteed a place in heaven as well. If God has given you your breath, your life and all things, is it too much for you to give back to God your heart and body? It will be selfish for you to deny God what already belongs to Him. God has already done His own part by giving to us His creatures all things including His Son Jesus Christ. We have to do our part too in giving our hearts and bodies to God for our own good and salvation.

Will you obey the fourth and fifth Scriptures above and give God your heart and body which He already owns? If your answer is yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. I give my body to You. Live in me by your Holy Spirit. I confess you as my Lord and Savior in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Christianity EtcTwo Men, Two Ways, Two Destinies by PastorAde(op): 1:23pm On Mar 08, 2010
Two Men, Two Ways, Two Destinies

Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish (Psalm 1: 1-6).

The Scriptures above describe two types of people – the godly and the ungodly – their ways of life and their eventual destinies. The godly man walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, i.e., his conduct is not shaped by worldly standards; nor stands in the way of sinners, i.e., he does not make his association with evil men; and nor sits in the seat of the scornful, i.e., he has no fellowship with those who scorn God. But His delight is in the law (Word) of the Lord, and in it does he meditate or ponder day and night. Such a man shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings forth its fruit in its season, his leaf shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper. So, to attain fruitfulness and true prosperity in any endeavor, a man ought to love, practice and be rooted in the Word of God.

The ungodly however are not like the godly. The character of the ungodly man is like the chaff. Those who are not planted by the rivers of water (i.e., the Word of God) are not saved and therefore are worthless, without substance and easily carried away as the wind will carry chaff. The ungodly will not be able stand in the judgment. When they are brought before the judgment bar of God, they have no retort (reply) to God’s just condemnation of their ungodliness. As for the godly man, the secret of his success is that the Lord knows the way of the righteous. Our loving Lord attends to and provides for those who live godly lives before Him. In contrast, all the plans and hopes of the ungodly will end in disappointment and ruin.

Two men, two ways, two destinies. One leads to life and blessedness; the other, without God and His Word, is a dead-end street, leading to death and hell. Anyone reading this writing should seriously examine his destiny. If we are going to go to God’s heaven, we have to go in God’s way. Jesus Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14: 6).

The purpose of this writing is not just to make a comparison of two men, of their ways, and of their eventual destinies. It is to make the godly remain in his godliness and to make the ungodly repent of his ways and turn to the true way – Jesus Christ. He is the way to God and to heaven.
Will you be blessed? Will you be prosperous? Will you be fruitful? Will you go to heaven? Are you ready to repent and be saved? If so, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcYour Breath Is God's Property by PastorAde(op): 2:13am On Mar 05, 2010
Your Breath Is God’s Property

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life (Job 33:4).

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things (Acts: 17: 24-25).

And when He (Jesus) had said this, He breathed on them, and says to them, Receive you the Holy Ghost (John 20: 22, emphasis added).

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2Cor.5: 17).

And you has He (God) quickened (i.e. made alive), who were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2: 1, emphasis added).

When God created man of the dust of the ground, he was lifeless until God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. It was then man became a living soul. This breath of God came directly from Him into man’s lifeless body of clay. Hence, man has no life apart from God.

The breath of man is the most important substance in all of human’s body. Without the breath, the body is lifeless. And this breath is God’s property. If the breath of man is God’s property man ought to submit himself, surrender to, and serve the Almighty God who gave him life. All the achievements of man in this world in the areas of business and technology, education and science, etc, would have been impossible without the help and breath of God. God therefore deserves all the glory, honor, worship and adoration. If God therefore owns your breath, He ought to own your life. You have no life apart from God. You cannot afford to live your life apart from Him. Though God is invisible, He has revealed Himself through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And God has documented all His works – past, present and future – in His written Word – The Bible, so that man may be without excuse.

God gave man something out of Himself. That thing is His own breath, even His very life so that man may have fellowship with Him. The first man Adam had God’s life in fullness and enjoyed that fellowship for some years. But due to his sin of disobedience he was separated from the life of God and that fellowship and he died first, spiritually, and then, physically at the age of 930 years old. The fall of Adam affected all his descendants and all were made sinners. Since the first Adam failed, God sent His Son the second Adam, a revelation of Himself to reconcile man to God. He shed His precious blood to redeem man and as many as believe in Him receive forgiveness and restoration and are reconciled back to God. To be reconciled back to God, man needs once again that breath of God. Since the first man Adam died spiritually and became a sinner, so all his descendants died spiritually and became sinners. And just like Adam’s lifeless body of clay received life through the breath of God, the spiritually dead sinners also need the life of God to be born again. This life is in Christ Jesus. This giving of life was demonstrated first in the disciples of Jesus after His resurrection. Because they believed in Him, He breathed on them the very breath of God and they received the Holy Ghost. Thus, the disciples became born again at that very moment they received the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit is the life or breath of God. For you to be born again, you need this life of God. As a sinner you are dead spiritually (see Ephesians 2:1 above). To be alive you need the breath of God or the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit or the life of God is given to only those who believe in Jesus Christ. Those who don’t have the Holy Spirit do not belong to God (see Romans 8: 9b). Do you want the life of God? If so, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Precious Holy Spirit, I receive you as the life of God in my heart. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Christianity EtcTo Tell You The Truth by PastorAde(op): 1:30am On Mar 04, 2010
To Tell You the Truth

And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in My name saying, I am the Christ and shall deceive many (Matthew 24: 3-5, emphasis added).

Jesus says to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me (John 14:6, emphasis added).

Neither is salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4: 12, emphasis added).

In the first passage above, towards the end of His first coming the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of His second coming. The first sign He gave them amongst others was the sign of deception! He said: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in My name saying, I am the Christ and shall deceive many”. To tell you the truth this sign is already being fulfilled in the world today. After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension to heaven many indeed came up in this world and claimed to be the ways to heaven and God, and many have been deceived and still being deceived. But to tell you the truth, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father (God), but by Him. There is only one way to God, and that way is Jesus. There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverb 16: 25). Every other ways that men came up with to deceive many all end up in death because Jesus is also the truth, and the life. Those who believe and receive Him as their Lord and Savior obtain salvation and eternal life instantaneously. Neither is there salvation in any other person: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

To tell you the truth, Jesus once came to this world and He’s coming back the second time. There are two phases of that second coming. In the first phase, the trumpet of God shall sound and true believers will be raptured (caught up) to heaven. But what will be the fate of those who reject Jesus? Immediately the rapture takes place the antichrist shall come and those who believe his lies shall receive the mark of the beast: 666 in their right hand, or in their foreheads. Those who receive this mark automatically belong to satan and will go to the lake of fire with him eternally. Those who reject the mark and cling to Jesus will be killed. Howbeit they will be martyrs of Jesus.

By this message, examine yourself whether you are in the truth (Jesus) or under deception. Jesus says: “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). The proof that you’re in the truth is that you are free from bondage to any man or sinful habits. When you give your life to Christ, He sets you completely free spirit, soul and body; for if the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36).

By this message, the truth has been told. The truth is meant to set you free from every error and deception. Will you be free? Will you be saved? Will you be raptured to heaven when the trumpet sounds? If your answer is yes to all these questions, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I receive you as the truth. I reject every other deception. I confess you as my Lord and Savior in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcRemember Now Thy Creator In The Days Of Thy Youth by PastorAde(op): 12:43pm On Feb 25, 2010
Remember Now Thy Creator in the Days of Thy Youth

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them; while the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain. In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows shall be darkened, and the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low; Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and the desire shall fail; because man goes to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets; Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel be broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it. Vanities of vanities, says the preacher; all is vanity. (Ecclesiastes 12:1-8, emphasis mine).

The above passage contains the moving “Allegory of Old Age”. A poignant picture of senility (old age) that is partly metaphorical and partly literal affords a dynamic reinforcement of the Preacher’s instruction to remember the Creator in the days of youth. The opportunity of remembrance will soon be over, and what will replace it will drastically limit a man’s ability to enjoy life under the sun. In old age life takes on the characteristics of the dark, cold Palestine winter, when storm after storm hides the heavenly luminaries.

Each phrase of the allegory is designed to describe the waning strength in a specific organ of the body. The keepers of the house are the hands and arms. It is their specific duty to keep and guard the house from intrusion. In old age they tremble so severely that they no longer move swiftly to the defense of the body. The strong men refer to the legs. They are thus designated because they are supported by the largest muscles of the body (see Psalm 147:10, Song of Solomon 5:15). In old age, the legs fail and the knees grow weak. The grinding women are the teeth. The mouth is the mill. It is difficult for the mill to function effectively when the teeth become few in number. In old age the teeth become few in number. They that look out the windows are without doubt the eyes whose ability to perceive lessens with the passing of the years. The doors refer to the ears. The doors that are shut represent deafness that cuts the elderly person off from the sounds of the city. The sound of the grinding of grain, which was heard daily about the Oriental home, is scarcely discernible to the old man. Rising at the sound of the bird suggests the light sleeping habits developed in old age which causes awakening to coincide with the rising of the birds. All times becomes indistinct to the aged person, due to an inability to hear that which is transpiring about him. Singing, as well as any real appreciation of music, has become a thing of the past.

Increasing age also brings with it a fear of high places. There is constant fear of a fall that may result in broken bones. Even the road (sidewalks) brings terror; for there is continual danger of stumbling, and this danger is complicated by the presence of increased traffic.

The almond tree blossoms are a reference to the white hairs that appears upon the head as an external sign of internal physical decay. The white signifies the time of the end. The walk of the old man is compared to that of the grasshopper. His whole body is nothing but skin and bones. His bones stick out, and his body is exhausted. He is nothing but an image of death.

The older person has lost all lightness of body and mind. All desires, physical and mental, fail as life begins to ebb out like the retreating tide. The professional wailers have drawn near to the man’s home, waiting with expectation to be hired for his funeral. What the professional wailers are waiting for is described in verses 6 and 7. The beauty and fragility of the human frame are captured here. It is a masterpiece, as delicate in its construction as the greatest work of art, yet as fragile as a piece of pottery. In the end it is as useless as a broken lamp, a shattered pitcher, and a broken wheel. The silver (spinal) cord held the golden bowl or lamp: and when it snapped, the lamp fell to the ground, dissolving itself into a myriad of pieces. The burning lamp is a common symbol for life (see 1 kings 11:36, Proverb 13:9). When the wheel (heart) and the pitcher (stomach) are broken at the well, no more water can be drawn. The well with all its treasures is then beyond the reach of man. Light and water are common symbols for life.

Man, with his aged and broken frame, is like the broken wheel and the shattered pottery. He looks out all that life has to offer, but he has no tools that will allow him to interact with all he sees. His body will soon dissolve into dust; and his spirit, or breath for his life, will return to God who originally gave it. (See Job 34: 14-15; Gen. 2:7). The Preacher then closes with the same admonition with which he began. Man under the sun is compelled to confess the vanity of all secular striving as he views the final destiny of the groaning human frame (Romans 8:23).

The above portrait of aging is calculated to cause the young to stop and ponder the direction in which they are going. Now is the time to remember God thy Creator in the days of thy youth. Otherwise it may be too late at your old age. But where will your spirit return if you die as a sinner? There is only one door to heaven where God dwells. That door is a Person, and that Person is Jesus Christ (John 10: 7, 9). For you to see heaven or God, you must be born again by believing in your heart the Lord Jesus, and confessing Him as your Lord and Savior. When you do this, all your sins are forgiven and forgotten by God. You then become a new creature, born of God Himself. Why wait till you’re old and gray- headed when you have no more pleasure in life? The time for you to remember and return to God is now, when He may still be found. As long as you are alive, you can still find God Who gave you your breath. If you die without Him, it will be too late. Are you ready to remember God now? If yes, pray this prayer out loud – Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you came to earth. I believe you died for me. I believe God raised you from the dead. Lord, I am a sinner. Wash me in your blood. Make me whiter than snow. I confess you now as my Savior and Lord. Amen.

Christianity EtcWho’s Servant Are You? by PastorAde(op): 9:37am On Feb 24, 2010
Who’s Servant are You?

Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants are you to whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? (Romans 6:16).

The above title is a million dollar question, and the Scripture gives us a clue as to whom a servant obeys at any point in time – either sin or righteousness. And both have their rewards – death and eternal life.

To whom you yield your body to obey either sin or righteousness becomes your master and both have their consequences. How did sin originate? How did we acquire the sinful nature? Sin originated from satan who rebelled against God in the beginning (see John 8:44). He was then cast out of heaven, after which he went to deceive Eve in the Garden of Eden. Eve then gave of the forbidden fruit to Adam (see Genesis 3:1-6), and because of his disobedience sin entered the world.

Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12, emphasis mine).

As long as we continue to commit sin, we are servants of sin and in bondage to sin and the result is death. But God has provided a way out of this servitude to sin by sending His Son Jesus Christ to be the propitiation (i.e. appeasement or legal satisfaction) for our sins. He took our place on the cross of Calvary and suffered the penalty of sin for the human race once and for all.

Surely He has borne our griefs (sickness), and carried our sorrows (pains): yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes (whip-lashes) we are healed (Isaiah 53: 4-5, emphasis mine).

Those who accept or believe what Christ accomplished for them on the cross, and confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior are immediately delivered from the servitude of sin and become not only servants of righteousness, but also sons of God and the result – eternal life.

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8: 34-36
).
Once you obey the gospel i.e. this good news and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He gives you power to become a son/daughter of God and to live free from sin (see John 1:12). The following Scriptures then apply to you:

But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine (teaching) which was delivered to you. Being made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh; for as you have yielded your members (body parts) servants to uncleanness and to iniquity to iniquity; even so now yield your members (body parts) servants of righteousness to holiness (sanctification). For when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. What fruit had you in those things whereof you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages (payment for) of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6: 17-23, emphasis mine).

Once you give your life to Christ, God gives you the gift of righteousness and you become a servant of righteousness and your end is eternal life. Amen. Will you become the servant of righteousness today? If yes, pray this prayer out loud:

Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away all my sins. Forgive all my trespasses. I believe you in my heart that you died for me on the cross of Calvary. I believe God raised you from the dead. I now confess you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for setting me free from sin and making me servant of righteousness, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Christianity EtcYou Have A Great Destiny In God by PastorAde(op): 2:58pm On Feb 19, 2010
YOU HAVE A GREAT DESTINY IN GOD

The word of the Lord came to me saying, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, I appointed you as prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1: 4-5, emphasis added).

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them (Genesis 1: 26-27)

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be the Son of the Most High. The Lord will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end (Luke 1: 30-33)

But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man (Saul, later Paul) is my chosen instrument to carry my Name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my Name.” (Acts 9: 15, emphasis added)

God has a great destiny for every man and woman born into this world. Take, for example, prophet Jeremiah in the first Scriptures above. God knew him before he was formed in the womb. Before he was born, he was set apart and appointed a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah’s great destiny was fulfilled. As God said, he became a prophet to the nations. He wrote the book of Jeremiah in the Bible.

The second Scriptures above from the book of Genesis apply to every male and female on earth. As a prototype, God made Adam and Eve and put them in the Garden of Eden with a great destiny to rule over lesser creatures and over all the earth. For a little while Adam walked in this great destiny until the serpent i.e. the devil came into the Garden to steal, to kill and to destroy this great destiny through deception. Adam disobeyed God’s earlier command not to eat of the forbidden fruit. Due to this act of disobedience, sin entered into the world and all of Adam’s offspring were contaminated with sin. Thus, all sinned and came short of the glory of God.

The birth of Jesus the second Adam was prophesied in the third passage above. He came into the world as a replacement for the first Adam who fell as a result of satan’s deception. He too was tempted in like manner by the devil and He overcame all the temptation and deception of satan. Where Adam failed, He succeeded. He fulfilled His great destiny of being the Savior of the world by becoming obedient unto death even the death on the cross of Calvary. He shed His precious blood to redeem humanity from sin, sickness and satan. God raised Him up on the third day and later ascended to heaven to sit on the right hand of God, having been given all power in heaven and on earth.

In the fourth passage above, the Lord had mercy on Paul who before his conversion was a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man. Having been saved and washed in the blood of Jesus, notice the Lord described him by his great destiny – “Paul is My chosen instrument to carry My Name before the Gentiles and their Kings and before the people of Israel.” By the grace of God, Paul fulfilled his great destiny.

And now, let’s talk about you dear reader. God has a great destiny for you. You are not on this earth by mistake. You are not a child of evil circumstance. God created you in His image and has great plans for you. Hear this word of God concerning you: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11). Do you believe these words? No matter the circumstance you find yourself now, yes, no matter how low you have gone, God is able to lift you up only if you’ll make up your mind and return in repentance back to God your Creator. He’s a loving Creator and no matter the sins you have committed, if you repent God will blot out your sins and make you whiter than snow in the blood of Jesus Christ. Your great destiny is waiting to be fulfilled. But it can only be fulfilled as you return, repent and receive forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. Will you receive grace to fulfill your great destiny? If your answer is yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. I receive your grace to fulfill my great destiny, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

God Has Great Plans for You

For I know the plans I have for you , declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Then God said: Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all creatures that move along the ground (Genesis: 1:26, emphasis added).

He sent a man before them, even Joseph who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. He made him the Lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance (possessions) (Psalm 105: 17-21, emphasis added).

Behold, we count them happy which endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy (James 1:11).

God has great plans for every human being on the face of the earth. He’s a good God who loves all of his creatures. God has great plans for every individual regardless the population of the earth past, present or future. That’s why no person’s finger print is the same as another. God’s model plan for man (male and female) is recorded in the second Scriptures above. Man was made in God’s image and likeness to rule over lesser creatures and over all the earth. This was God’s plan and it has not changed regardless the failure of the first man and woman – Adam and Eve - to fulfill God’s original plan. Due to Adam’s failure, God introduced the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, Who came into the world, died on the cross of Calvary, shed His precious blood to redeem (buy back) man from the fall in order that God’s great plan can be fulfilled in the lives of those who truly give their lives to Christ.

Let’s consider, for example, the life of Joseph. At the age of 17, God gave him dreams in which he saw himself reigning over his brothers and his entire family bowing down to him. For these his brothers hated and persecuted him. He was eventually sold into slavery. As a house boy in the house of Portiphar, he served faithfully and fled from the temptation of committing adultery with his master’s wife. Eventually he was imprisoned. In prison, he found favor with the keeper of the prison. In spite of his prison experience, God still worked out his great plans for him. Through his gift of interpretation of dreams, he was able to interpret the dreams of Pharaoh’s officers, and King Pharaoh’s. Eventually, he was released from prison and became the prime minister of Egypt.

Job was another example. He was a very wealthy man, the greatest of all the men of the East (Job 1: 3). In one day, he lost everything he had. Furthermore, all his children died in one day. In spite of his calamity, he never cursed God but rather said: “the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord”. During Job’s adversity the plan of God was still intact. Job was patient through it all and at the end the Lord showed him pity and mercy. God restored to him double all he had lost. Moreover, he had seven sons and three daughters.

Let’s now consider you, dear reader. God has great plans for you. But how shall this great plan be fulfilled? It is by cooperating with your Maker. It is by first of all accepting His great plan of salvation for you. The Bible says: “But seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6: 33). When you accept God’s plan of salvation for you through Jesus Christ the Redeemer, then God’s great plan shall also be fulfilled in your life. God plans to give you hope and a future. Do you want this great plan to be fulfilled? Then pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Let your great plan be fulfilled in my life, in Jesus’ Precious Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcWhere Will You Spend Eternity? by PastorAde(op): 12:11pm On Feb 17, 2010
Where Will You Spend Eternity?

The days of our years are three score and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away (Psalm 90: 10, emphasis added).

And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for Him shall He appear to the second time without sin to salvation (Hebrews 9: 28).

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried. And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom (Luke 16: 22-23, emphasis added).

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father (John 16: 28).

Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also (John 14: 1-3).

Life on earth is very transient – of short duration. The number of years allotted to man according the first Scriptures above is three score and ten (i.e. 70). By reason of strength some attain the age of 80. In exceptional cases, some people live longer. For example, Moses died at the age of 120 and Aaron at the age of 123. However, many don’t even attain the age of 70. Whatever age one dies, the Bible says “we fly way” after death.

It is appointed to men once to die but after this the judgment. What does this mean? The moment men die, their spirits instantly go to either heaven or hell. The spirit of a man goes to heaven if, during his life time, he gave his life to Christ and receive forgiveness and salvation through Jesus and His shed blood. Only the blood of Jesus cleanses and makes a man righteous in order to enter heaven. For such a man, that is his judgment. On the contrary, the spirit of a man goes to hell if, during his life time, he rejects Jesus and die as a sinner. Such is the case of the rich man and Lazarus in the third Scriptures above. When Lazarus died, he was carried by angels to Abraham’s bosom (heaven). When the rich man died, he went to hell because he died as a sinner.

In the fourth Scriptures above, Jesus tells us about where He originated. He came from God the Father. He then came to the earth and eventually returned to the Father. Presently, Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God in heaven. The statement of Jesus in the fourth Scriptures above gives us a clue about where the spirits of men came from. God is the Father of all spirits; and all spirits came from Him before they put on a fleshly garb as men and women in this world. As men live their lives in this world, one day they will die and their spirits will fly away. But to where? As for Jesus, He went back to the Father, and in the fifth Scriptures above, He promised to build mansions in heaven for believers and come again to receive them to heaven. This promise will come to pass very soon. This event is what the Bible refer to as the rapture or the catching up of the saints (see 1Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Dear reader, where will you spend eternity? In heaven, or in hell? These two places are real places people go after death. Have you ever given a thought to this? Only God knows how long you will live again. Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow may be too late. As you hear this gospel today, make a decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Will you go to heaven? If yes, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. I choose heaven and reject hell, in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Christianity EtcGod Wants All Men To Be Saved by PastorAde(op): 4:08pm On Feb 16, 2010
God Wants All Men to Be Saved

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone…, This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1Timothy 2:1, 3, emphasis added).

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly…But God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5: 6, cool.

All the Scriptures above point to one thing – God loves all men, and He wants them to be saved. That is why He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to die for, and take away the sin of the whole world.

The first man God created was Adam. He took a rib out of Adam’s side and made the rib into a woman. That woman was Eve. God put both of them in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. They lived happily and obediently in the Garden of Eden until Satan who fell from heaven due to rebellion came and deceived Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit. Eve gave of the fruit to Adam, who also ate contrary to God’s commandment. With this act of disobedience, sin entered into Adam and Eve and was passed down through all their offspring till date. But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16b).

It does not matter what sins you have committed, all you need do is to repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and His blood will wash away your sins. Apostle Paul made the following statement after he was converted.

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst” (1Timothy 1:15).

If God could save Paul (formerly called Saul) the worst or chief of sinners, He can also save you no matter what you have done. God said in His word: I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more (Isaiah 43:25). God does not want anyone to die in their sins, but to repent and receive forgiveness through Jesus Christ before they live this world. By the time one lives this world, there are two destinations – Heaven or Hell. Heaven for those who believe in Jesus, and are saved. Hell for those who reject Jesus and the gospel of the kingdom of God. This earth in which we live is a temporary abode. It is like a transit camp. There is an allotted time for everyone. But the choices we make matter. The greatest choice you can make in life is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and be guaranteed of eternal life with God. The worst choice you can make is to reject Jesus and His word and go to hell. May that not be your portion in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Will you be washed? Will you be forgiven? Will you be saved? Do you want your name written in the book of life? Then pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcGod Is Not Wanting Anyone To Perish by PastorAde(op): 9:32am On Feb 15, 2010
God Is Not Wanting Anyone to Perish

The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2Peter 3:9, emphasis added).

I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-----This is good, and pleases God our Savior, Who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1Timothy 2:1, 3, emphasis added).

In first passage above, Apostle Peter was writing about the second coming of the Lord. At His first coming, He died on the cross of Calvary to take away the sin of the whole world. As many as believe in Him, and confess Him as their Lord and Savior will be saved and have their name written in the book of life. And as many as reject Him will be condemned (see Mark 16:16).

At His second coming, He will gather together all those who believe in Him and take them to heaven. This is called “the catching up of the believers” or “the rapture”. Thus believers will escape the tribulation coming upon this world.

That is why the first passage above says: “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness”. What promise is Apostle Peter referring to? It is the promise of His second coming. The delay of Christ’s return is related to the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom of God to the whole world – Matthew 24:14 – “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” God wants everyone to hear the gospel and does not want anyone to perish eternally. Anyone who hears the gospel will then decide to accept this truth or reject it. Those who accept will be saved and those who reject the truth will be lost. The choice is yours.

The second passage above emphasizes the same truth. Apostle Paul advised that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all men. Praying for all men is pleasing to God Who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. God is not willing that anyone should perish, but that everyone should come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved. But who is the truth? Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6).”

Will you embrace the truth and be saved? For you to be saved you have to repent of your sins and God will forgive and forget your sins. God does not want you to perish or be lost eternally. He wants you be saved. Will you? Then pray this prayer out loud. Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcThe Sin Of The Whole World Has Been Taken Away by PastorAde(op): 4:22pm On Feb 14, 2010
The Sin of the Whole World Has Been Taken Away

The next day John sees Jesus coming to him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29, emphasis added)
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it on a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived (Numbers 21:9)

14. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15. That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:14-15)

One day, Jesus came to John to be baptized in water. As He approached, John announced Him saying: “Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world”. In the Old Testament, the practice it for the priest to sacrifice a lamb without blemish to cover the sin of the people, because God Who is holy cannot behold sin. With this practice, thousands of lambs were sacrificed to cover the sin of the people for many years. But God who is wise had a permanent solution to sin. The permanent solution is providing Jesus as the Lamb of God to permanently take away the sin of the whole world. The crucifixion of Jesus and the shedding of His blood took away the sin of the whole world. Jesus was the only man that never committed any sin. He was not born like one of us. The Holy Spirit overshadowed the virgin Mary, that holy thing was conceived in her, and Jesus was born. But in our own case, we were born through the intercourse of our parents. David, while repenting of his adultery with Beersheba, wrote:
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me (Psalm 51:5).

All of us inherited the sinful nature from our first parents, Adam and Eve. But thank God the Lamb of God (Jesus) has taken away the sin of the whole world permanently.

Apart from the sin of the whole world taken away, the originator of the sin has also being destroyed. The initiator and originator of sin is satan. In the second and third Scriptures above, when the children of Israel sinned, God instructed Moses to make a serpent of brass and hang it on a pole. When those that were bitten looked upon the serpent of brass, they lived. Apostle John alluded to this event in John 3:14 above. On the cross of Calvary where Jesus was crucified, satan has been once- and-for- all defeated and destroyed. Hence, sin and satan has been conquered.
Now that sin and satan has been crushed, what are their replacements? Their replacements are the exact opposites – Righteousness and Jesus. God has provided righteousness through the blood of Jesus. Sin has been taken away, righteousness now reigns. Satan also has been defeated and stripped of his power; Jesus lives and has all power in heaven and earth (see Matthew 28:18).

Now that sin and satan has been overcome, you can have the opposites – righteousness and Jesus. They are both the gifts of God to humanity. Will you receive these two and be saved? Will you receive these two and have your name written in the book of life? If so pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. Make me whiter than snow. I confess you as my Savior and Lord, and by faith I receive the gift of righteousness and Jesus Himself into my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Christianity EtcWho Is On The Lord’s Side? by PastorAde(op): 9:42am On Feb 13, 2010
Who is on the Lord’s Side?

Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side? Let him come to me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him (Exodus 32: 26, emphasis added).

Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with Him (Jesus) to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified Him, along with the criminals – one on His right, the other on His left. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at Him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise.”(Luke 23: 32-33; 39-43, emphasis added)

In the above Scriptures from the book of Exodus and Luke, two different events and episodes took place. In first event in Exodus, Moses had gone to the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments from God. While he delayed in coming, the Israelites gathered themselves together to Aaron, Moses’ brother, and told him to make them gods that will go before them. Aaron compromised God’s standard and made them a molten calf fashioned out of golden earrings. This the children of Israel worshipped, thus breaking the second commandment. Not only this, the people began to indulge in sensuous dancing and sexual immorality, something strictly forbidden in God’s law. When Moses came down and saw what the Israelites were doing, he asked the question: “Who is on the Lord’s side?” Then the sons of Levi, one tribe out of twelve, gathered themselves to Moses. God used the sons of Levi to execute judgment upon the erring Israelites that day. Now it is significant for us to understand the meaning of the name Levi. Levi means “joined”. So on that day, the sons of Levi joined Moses to be on the Lord’s side. They separated themselves from those who had sinned and joined the Moses to be on the Lord’s side.

In the second event from the book of Luke, two thieves were about to be crucified with Jesus, one on His right and the other on His left. This event was prophesied thousands of years earlier by Prophet Isaiah when he said: “He was numbered with transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:12b) The one on His left showed no remorse, but rather insulted Jesus. But the one on His right showed remorse for his sin and spoke right about Jesus. He then made the most important request of his life in his dying minutes when he prayed: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. This thief in essence said “Lord, have mercy on me; I want to be on your side!” Jesus immediately answered:”I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” That day, in his dying minutes, the thief on the right made the right switch from the kingdom of darkness, yes, from hell, into the kingdom of God. But the thief on the left went to hell because he was unrepentant. He remained in his sin and on the side of satan and went to hell eternally. The question is once again asked: Who is on the Lord’s side? Are you already on the Lord’s side? If not, are you ready to make the switch like the thief on the right? No matter the sins you have committed, if you will repent and call upon the name of Jesus who died for the whole world, today, your name will be registered in the book of life in heaven. If you are ready to be on the Lord’s side pray this all important prayer: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcAre You A Sheep Or A Goat? by PastorAde(op): 10:32am On Feb 12, 2010
Are You A Sheep or A Goat?

When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put
the sheep on his right and the goats on His left. Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, you blessed of my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you came to visit Me. Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me. Then He will say to those on His left. Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink. I was a stranger and you did not invite Me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after Me. They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? He will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of these, you did not do for Me. Then they will go to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life (Matthew 25: 31-46).

The above words of Jesus were spoken about the eternal destinies of peoples of different nations. Peoples of different nations are categorized symbolically into two groups – the sheep and the goats. Naturally, sheep are obedient and meek (not weak) in nature. In these words of Jesus, the sheep are those who obey the gospel of Jesus and washed in the blood of Jesus. Furthermore, their faith in Jesus is accompanied by good works to fellow men. They are thus described as righteous and inherit the kingdom of God. On the contrary, goats are naturally disobedient and stubborn. They are those who disobey and reject the gospel of Jesus Christ. After hearing the message of the gospel, they harden their hearts and refuse to believe. Furthermore, they showed no deeds of kindness to fellowmen. They are thus described as cursed and go to hell eternally. The days of the Son of Man (Jesus) is described as the days of Noah. Noah preached for 120 years nobody listened or repented. Only Noah and his family, totaling eight, were saved from the flood. For over 2000 years now the gospel has been preached. Many have heard and rejected the truth and thus go to hell. Many have believed and embraced Jesus and have died and gone to heaven. This message is coming to you that are alive. What will you do with Jesus? The event Jesus is referring to in the Scriptures above will come to pass either you believe it or not. Will you as a sheep accept Jesus and go to heaven? Will you as a goat reject Jesus and go to hell? Choose this day your eternal destiny. If you choose to be a sheep pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash away my sins. Write my name in your book as a sheep. I confess you as my Lord and Savior in Jesus Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcYour Soul Is More Precious Than The Whole World by PastorAde(op): 4:40pm On Feb 11, 2010
YOUR SOUL IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN THE WHOLE WORLD

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; What is man, that You are mindful of him? And the son of man, that You visit him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet: (Psalm 8: 3-6).

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels (Mark 8: 36-38).

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all the things that are in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides for ever (1John 2:15-17).

Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity (Ecclesiastes 1:2).

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice because your names are written in heaven (Luke 10: 20).
God is the Creator of heaven and earth including human beings, male and female. Of all things created, animate or inanimate, man is the king; and has been given dominion over the works of God’s hands. The soul of man is therefore more precious, important, and superior than the whole world created by God. There is nothing in this world that can be exchanged in preference to the soul of man.

Jesus Christ asked a potent question in the second Scriptures above: “What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul?” Everything man gains in this world, be it degrees, fame, riches, or popularity, cannot equal the soul of a man. All the riches or accomplishments a man make in this world will be left behind after death. The Bible tells us the world will pass away and the lust thereof. The soul of man also passes away after death. But while alive you should gain your soul and not lose it. To gain your soul means to save one’s life, while to lose one’s soul means to lose one’s life and perish. But how does a man ensure his soul is saved and his name written in the book of life? There’s only one Savior of the world whose name is Jesus – “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). The only way you can gain your soul is by receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Once you receive Him, He becomes the Bishop (Overseer) and Shepherd of your soul and writes your name in the book of life. Those who will rather gain the whole world would suffer a double loss namely, their soul and the whole world they so craved. The Bible tells us “Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, all is vanity. All the lust of this world is vanity.  It is better to lose the world and gain your soul by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Do you wish to gain your soul and have your name written in the book of life? If so, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life. Thank you Lord for saving my soul in Jesus precious Name, Amen.

Christianity EtcIs Your Name Written In Heaven? by PastorAde(op): 4:26pm On Feb 11, 2010
IS YOUR NAME WRITTEN IN HEAVEN?[/b

And the Lord said to Moses, whosoever has sinned against Me, him will I blot out of my book (Exodus 32:33, emphasis added).

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20, emphasis added).
But you are come to mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven….See that you refuse Him not that speaks (Hebrews 12: 22-23a, 25a, emphasis added).

He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels (Revelation 3:5).

God has a lot of books in heaven. One of the books is called the book of life in which are written the names of all that are washed in the blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and are therefore saved.
In the first passage above, God said to Moses: “whosoever has sinned against Me, him will I blot out of my book”. This means a sinner’s name cannot be found in the book of life, but in another book, the book of death and hell. What this tells us is that a lot of people that have died are either in heaven or hell. Understand, O reader, that people only go to heaven if their name is in the book of life. Conversely, people go to hell because they are sinners whose names are not in the book of life, but in the book of death and hell. This statement is true and worthy of all acceptation.

In the second passage above, Jesus told his disciples to rejoice because their names are written in heaven. And in the third passage we are told of the church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven. The word church in the Bible is derived from a Greek word “Ecclesia” which means “Called out ones”. Called out of what? Called out of the world of sinners. How do you get called out of the world of sinners? You get called out of the world of sinners when you hear and hearken to the gospel of the kingdom of God. When you believe and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you become saved and He, Jesus, writes your name in the book of life. Jesus Himself said in the fourth passage above to him that overcomes: “the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels”. What are we to overcome and be clothed with white raiment and have our names written in the book of life? We must overcome sin, satan, and the world. No man can achieve this by the arm of flesh. Jesus Christ has achieved this feat for all men when He became our substitute on the cross of Calvary. He that knew no sin became a sin offering for us all. He was that Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the whole world (John 1:29). For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God has done His own part in giving Jesus for the whole world. We have to do our own part in believing in Jesus who died and rose from the dead. If you believe in Jesus and confess Him as your Lord and Savior, you will not perish but your name will be automatically written in the book of life. Those who don’t believe are condemned already (John 3:18b), and have their names out of the book of life. The greatest achievement of a man in this world is to ensure his name is written in the book of life before he dies. If anyone dies as a sinner he (or she) goes to hell because his (or her) name is not written in heaven. Is your name written in the book of life? If your answer is no or you are not sure, pray this prayer out loud: Lord Jesus, come into my heart, wash away my sins. I confess you as my Lord and Savior. Write my name in the book of life in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
