I don't understand the kind of epileptic policies being implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria during these hard times. An hour after receiving this email from diamond bank my account was debited for VAT ON MMF ₦17.60 and Monthly MTCE FEE ₦351 respectively. I do not understand any of these two charges made to my account. Earlier this same month I've been debited twice for Stamp Duty which were ₦400 and ₦350 respectively.

Please my fellow Nigerians when will these organisations stop ripping off the poor people to make the rich people richer?

I'm so tired of this dirty country.
Same mail received by me.and see the charges undecided

ChangeIsCostant:
Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo is currently on a surprise visit to Murtala Muhammed International International Airport, Lagos. Yemi Osinbajo surprise visit to the nation's busiest airport comes days after approving a 60 day reform plan to ease business in the country.

According to Yemi Osinbajo's media aide, Laolu Akande, Osinbajo is personally checking out toilets, carousels, immigration to see things for himself.

Source; http://www.nationalhelm.net/2017/02/photos-from-acting-president-osinbajos.html
Corruption everywhere in this airport if not lets say extortion and dont ask me how i know because whenever i have travel through this airport from entry gate to boarding gate from officer at gate to immigration to custom all will ask you to pay to avoid being frisked and on top of it after scanning through a high tech scanner they will still want to check your handbags manually just to ask you for change. No where in world are manual check done on all passengers.
Same procedure is repeated when you arrive.
Welcome to Nigeria.it has became a way of life and lets say normal procedure to enter or exit Nigeria.
I hope this visit changes something and we see change at airport.
My view no offence intended. smiley

I don't know the right section to post this. Mods Pardon me pls, help sending it to the right section .

I had an issue in linking my bvn in my newly opened account in one of the Nigerian bank here reason being that there is a middle name in the former account and no middle name in the later. The customer care in the new bank insisted that I get an affidavits in a court of law, for a change of name , won't that affect me in the long run, considering some of my documents bears the middle name, I am just confused and I have a substantial amount of money in my new account, meaning no withdrawals until bvn is linked, pls learned ones in the house help a brother.

FoodRe: Update On Imported ‘india Garri’: Health Minister Now Aware & Taken Actions by pat1612(m): 12:06pm On Feb 21, 2017
bumi10:
Recall that a tweet first caught Nigerians attention on Sunday 19th February 2017 which was about a certain pack of Imported Garri with the source given as India, which was found on the shelve of a Nigerian supermarket. 1. NAFDAC Officers visited the Supermarket in Ikoyi today
2. 26 packets of 500mg each of the products were seized for analysis
3. The product has no NAFDAC number
4. The product is said to be from Ghana but packaged in UK

Ok lets accept that it is not registered with nafac and should be banned from importation.
But let me ask you a simple question we all buy bread on daily basis and its a food item regulated by nafdac so have you ever noticed a mfg date or expiry date on it.
I personally have bought bread that doesnt hv expiry on it from shop even i tweeted on nafdac handle on twitter a long back but without response from them.
so instead worrying about a garri which is sold in supermarket which less than 1% of public will buy why cant we focus on daily bread which millions of nigerians buy every dayhuhregulate it where u r needed most

AgricultureRe: Indian Garri Being Sold In Nigerian Supermarkets (Photos) by pat1612(m): 4:07pm On Feb 19, 2017
world1:
This is sincerely an absurdity of monumental proportion and a shame. Our government and regulatory agencies (if they still exist) should cover their faces in shame. I would like to ask: how much were you paid in bribe? Is this how far we are mentally bankrup? we are indeed in a big mess in this nation. Can you imagine imported garri from India now selling in shops in Nigeria and NAFDAC approve this?
Habaaaaaa Gari again? So we finally have consigned our dear country to a dumping ground for all forms of Asian mindless madness. Nigeria is the worlds largest producer of cassava for crying out loud but here we are shamelessly displaying Indian made garri not corn flakes on our shelves. Do we still have the Customs service, do we still have NAFDAC and other such regulatory agencies. This is indeed a shame, that must be condemned by all well meaning, patriotic and passionate Nigerians. We do hope that if need be these government agencies who look the other way when this poorly produced products are hauled into our nation should get set to meet Nigerians on the street in hot protest. We think that it should now be enough of this broad day light rape of our economy and our collective wealth as a nation.
In the same token, we call out on Nigerian to not just condemned this shameful act but to match such condemnation with a clear statement in action refusing to purchase such foreign made goods that Nigeria has better potential to produce. This call has become important because a great deal of Nigerians have a funny penchant for goods produced outside the shores of Nigeria even if these goods are substandard, and pose obvious threats to our health and well being. It is instructive to note that today the WHO ranks Nigeria so low on some key health indices, that our dear Nation lags behind almost all much smaller African nations.
Dear country men and women, here is a frantic and heartfelt call to redeem what is left of our national pride. Please may we all rise to condemn the importation of garri of all thing. Please let's rebroadcast this on all meddium of mass reach - ELECTRONIC and PRINT, until it arrives the corridors of decision making in this country

OP which place did u find this product and have you seen NAFDAC number on it ??
If their is no NAFDAC on it please report to NAFDAC with location of product also its not just garri many product are brought in country which are not registered so its better if any one of us find such product we report to appropriate authority and raise issue.

BusinessRe: CBN Offers Banks $20m Weekly Allocation For Invisibles by pat1612(m): 9:56am On Feb 18, 2017
darqly:
How would CBN achieve direct allocation to end users? If you think Commercial banks are corrupt, you haven't patronised CBN directly then. Asides the fact that they're incredibly inept, they can STEAL, and still point fingers at you as the accused.
CBN too is not corruption free but if you have imported ever you will know that it is done by portal trade.gov.ng which brings all agencies along with bank on one platform and cbn is starting point for any importation or school fee or any other expenses related to dollar application.every application has a number allocated to it generated by system.
Unfortunately this system stops once the import have been made and circle remains incomplete on portal.to complete it we have to go to banķ for manual submission of documents and wait for allocation from cbn at mercy of this bank to allocate us fund.
But if this portal is further advance to allocate funds automatically once all formalities are completed by bank and allocation awarded to person depending on form number on first come first serve bases it will remove a big chunk of corruption and bring transparency in allocation with all record available online.

Just my observation because i have been using said portal for 2 years and its good initiative which has made people to people contact to minimum thus saving time and money.
BusinessRe: CBN Offers Banks $20m Weekly Allocation For Invisibles by pat1612(m): 8:49am On Feb 18, 2017
Why doesnt cbn directly allocate to end user.there is system but i guess banks or cbn doesnt want to be transparent in allocation. If they are transparent and allocate using system at work rather than banks top management deciding allocation lot of malpractices can be avoided and dollar can be saved.

Just my view☺
PoliticsRe: Can Somebody Get This Question From CBN Governor!!! by pat1612(m): 2:36pm On Feb 16, 2017
I being importer know how this scarcity is affecting me.but if you are importer you will know that thr is a system in place to import goods in Nigeria thru trade.gov.ng.
Best possible way to remove inflation as per my view is to enhance the procedure available on ground rather than looking for solution in BDC. This portal trade.gov.ng is must to import anythg in country which starts from applying for FORM M (cbn)the first step of importation and ends at custom release. After which you have to submit relevent documents to your corresponding bank for getting Dollar for payment of import.
This is were banks have role and CBN loses control as dollar is given in bulk to ban to further pay to customer with form M valid for forex.but most of bank gives priority to some customer and majority of it is left out without forex.so if you are influential person with connection you get if not you are left out. Roundtripping and all other means of diversion happen at this level.

Solution to it is eliminate bank from making decision who gets and doesnt get forex. Each import has a exclusive form M number generated by system at trade .gov.ng if this portal is further extended to automatically allot forex to Form M as per first come first serve bases this will eliminate most of bogus form M and CBN will have better control on forex rather then relying on Banks to file return for allocation of forex which is usually not correct as highlighted by cbn many times.
CBN can get reports of forex allocated to each form M with precision and at click of button.

Just my view.want the system to improve for country to grow.

Again a wrong decision but cbn is expected to make one see naira getting skyrocketed next two days. And when you were not ready to monitor why you allowed them to sell.one day u wake up and say bank are not following procedure.but arent you seeing it when it was happening and rather than removing all why u dint start with couple of them so that other bank would have learn leasson and stop their practice.
