The fact is alot of arguments here are unnecessary. Nationalism has eaten so deep into people in here.

Alot of arguments here are based on this one is betye4 than this etc but they never mention why instead start E-war.

Arguing like an intelligent fellow brings joy and respect. Imagine someone saying the f16 is a better aircraft that the Rafale with no reason or whatever. The next action is using vulgar languages at each other. What's wrong with analyzing speed? Turn rate? A rafale uses sososo missile and if able to lock on the F16, the f16 won't be able to do sososo due to sososo.
Now that's an intelligent argument, but instead useless arguments start in here.

Yes nationalism comes in and I'm not in support of any one here but I'm Nigerian if you say shit at Nigeria, I'll just ignore you and if you're going to keep acting dumb I'll give you a reply you deserve . I have seen alot of useless, unintelligent response from nairalanders so I'm used to it.

Patches seems to be a guy always picking on Henry posts even at the slightest issue and Henry too comes in hot.

The damn fact here is only few people have access to technical capabilities of some of these hardware being discussed in here. Just a bunch of internet fanboys arguments. I don't usually contribute If topic ain't about Electronic Warfare, Aircraft and communication where I have first hand information. This thread is about military and someone brought out economy issues? When you all have nothing to argue again, I see people taking arguments to each other country economy, HIV, Internet and what so ever. Moreover I see people taking about race here angry What's with race and military? Look at the Algerian guy here, the guy does his things well and avoid issues. There was this issue of him claiming men of the Nigerian Navy SBS were not Nigerians but the guy apologized with him posting a picture of their face uncovered and admitting his mistakes.

We all should learn to accommodate each other.
well said dude. i rarely contribute but i get irritated by some of these arguments. most of them soun like arguments i had back in early school, like who will win if robocop fights terminator or who can dance better MC hammer or MJ or my fathers car is better than your fathers own at an age when i did not know a fuse from a relay?

this ish is just sickening and nobody seems capable of rising above it even when they should know to.

it's funny that Nigerians are being decieved that we have the infrastructure to counter a conventional air threat.

we are just lucky to be surrounded by poor countries.

dropping bombs on insurgents with zero air defence capabilities is totally different from fighting a conventional air threat.

hate to break it to you but for the sake of passing the right info to those who actually are here to learn, our rolands(God knows if they still function) that haven't seen recent upgrade, our outdated ARADU(if not stripped already) and manpads is not worth bragging about. a decent airforce with 4th generation aircrafts will stroll in our airspace with ease.

only few countries in africa can brag of adequate air defence systems and SA and Nigeria are none

but here, who wants the truth when we can keep decieving ourselves and laugh over itgrin.
thank you Bros

@skypeme, I suspect that there are other issues on the burner for you regarding your marriage. if there are then you guys should consider counseling. i dont advise stopping her monthly stipend maybe u cld reduce it for 2 months but dont stop entirely it could be counterproductive. furthermore you know your woman and am sure you know where to get her. she messed up by inflating the cost and am sure that from now on trusting her will be an issue for you. Counseling wld be key. Its a marriage and it can be hard work, it will take both of you to make this work. but she needs to get how you are feeling, if she is totally recalcitrant then.........i no know oooooo

AutosRe: How's The Recent Dollar Crash Affecting Prices Of Autos by Patented: 8:05am On Mar 24, 2017
it will take weeks, if not months for the fall in the price of dollar to affect the price of commodities. Most commodities in the market now and that will arrive in the market in the coming weeks were bought when the rates were still higher. Goods bough at the current rates will not start arriving until after a few weeks and then the importers will still wanna cash and still sell high until they start undercutting each other.

BusinessRe: I Need Ideas On How To Sell An Idea To Different Companies Without Patenting it by Patented: 6:17am On Mar 02, 2017
TsaTrinity:
Hello people! Happy new month
I have an idea that I want to sell to companies likes banks, telecommunication houses, media houses and so on. Trust me, this idea will fetch money, I mean billions of dollars when enacted. I've shared the idea with my most trusted allies and they highly commended the idea and cant wait to start enjoying the benefits of the idea.
But then, I was sicken by the fear of having these companies, after unveiling and working on the idea, throw me out and don't settle me accordingly all because the idea wasn't patented(protected from copyright)
Why am not considering patenting the idea is because;
*I see people suffering it everyday and a solution is needed quickly. I, sometimes, suffer it and I wish my idea is been used
*The cost for patenting is high(am guessing 50k) and the time frame to be fully patented is long(2yrs)
*Am afraid someone else might have the idea and work on it before am done processing the patenting
So my final conclusion is selling my idea to various companies without patenting it and been left out from the financial gains.
Am throwing this question here because i know i have wonderful and amazing people with great wisdom and thinking.
What do you suggest i do? Am also very open to criticism but also drop ideas for me to take into consideration
Over to the Echelons to help me out

When u get a Patent registered, the protection granted dates back to the day u applied for the patent. There are 3 classes of intellectual property rights in Nigeria. Copyrights, Trade marks and Designs. Dunno where ur idea wld fall without knowing the idea. Patents however apply to inventions that are new and capable of industrial application under our law. A lot more goes into this sha.

What abt the J17 Thunder it's equally untested and we are generally drooling over the possibility. The Mawri has a number of Uses and it need not enter the strike role. I still maintain that using it will afford us a unique opportunity. It's not without its pitfalls but fail or not, there's a lot to learn in addition, even if it's gifted it won't mitigate the risks to our pilots that you referred to.
Vikkie14:
But what you failed to take into consideration is the fact that CH3 is UNMANNED while the Mwari is MANNED. You don't want to start losing your pilots both on training and on mission.

Before the Israelis put any weapon for sale, they would have tested and used that weapon for close to a decade. Then, they will say... "You see this Tarvor, we've used this in combat for over 9years now. It is suitable for 'this and that' but not 'those', so we are offering you something we can assure you of its effectiveness and efficiency".
We shouldn't be a test bed for something that's unproven and untested in real combat situation.
If they want us to be the 'test-bed', it's better the Mwari's were "gifted" than buying something that hasn't seen contested battleground.

The truth is if we want huge advantage in aircrafts production, NAF has to employ Aerospace engineers ( I'm not talking about those sent on course to the UK).
Those from AFIT are doing well too but we currently need people with vast knowledge in different areas.

Aircraft manufacturing is something tough and the best is for NAF is to employ foreign guys first. I have seen some Nigerians with Aerospace engineering degrees from top universities like MIT and others
True and Duly noted. if the Mawri fails we learn, if it succedds we use it and we still learn. we dont have to be able to design and produce an entire aircarft initially. A lot goes into an aircraft and every company that makes them subcontracts parts to other companies. we can start with parts here and there, guidance systems etc and the knowledge gained will have uses beyond aerospace.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Patented: 9:17am On Feb 22, 2017
By all Means lets be a test bed, we were for the CH3. We could order a couple of units and still buy the Tucano. the benefit of the Mwari is greater in the sense that we get to learn a whole lot about air -craft design and production. The knowledge gained will be invaluable in future.
Henry240:
The problem i have with the Mwari is, it is a brand new platform which hasn't been tested in combat. We don't have that luxury to be a test bed for a new platform. In every development cycle of a new asset, problems are bound to arise. What we need is an airplane that has proven record of combat delivery. Records available show that in a LICW or COIN threat environment the Tucano has been more effective than fast jets, that thing can loiter for 8 hours, more than many attack helicopters.

With the Mwari, we can get co-production rights which is a good thing down the line, but we cannot be a test bed.

Yeah definitely, anyone can look at a map and see the difference. It can be compared to NA soldiers deploying to the Niger delta.

It makes perfect sense that Senegal leads the way.
chances are that Senegal always had a contingency plan for such a deployment, so it may be just a live drill for them.

excellent advice. In addition it is unlikely that the insecticide will be able to kill tick eggs and maybe some of the other stages of the tick lifecycle, so i advise that you spray again in 2-4 weeks. to kill off any ticks that may have hatched post initial spraying
xreal:
Seven hours, minimum.

Check the container of the insecticide used, it's written on it most cases.
Or ask the seller.
