@OP: Learn to be prudent. Always ensure there is justification for every expenditure. it's not bad to give yourself a treat occasionally, however ask yourself that subtle question..'is this really necessary'. In 'Economists' parlance, there's a BIG difference between 'Needs' and 'Wants'.

They do it deliberately to annoy you...and trust ladies, they'll play songs that'll send a message across to you...e.g 'people wey no get job, siddon for house na sweegbee oooooo' etc. so the guy couldn't bear the inflammatory remarks and songs deliberately directed at him. Pls moderators, let there be fair play. Stop hiding my posts as I have NOT violated any of the rules of NL advert on autos. Go through my previous threads where I have advertised and sold some cars in this auto section and tell where (if there is ANY) that I have advertised wrongly, or sold wrongly, or has any-one been on NL to complain about anything bought from me. I have sold only quality cars and do not advertise beyond boundaries of set limit, nor duped anyone and I will NEVER! so pls, dont hide my posts!

I was exactly in your shoes about a yr ago, and guess what I did? Ofcourse I came back to naija and took the job. However, I delayed completing the acceptance letter for about 3 months to enable me complete my research work, earn my degree and also explore other alternatives of getting a job in the UK. truth be told, it's NOT easy embarking on that final decision to be back home, particularly when you think of the social amenities you enjoy in first world but comparatively lacking in Naija.

People who encourage you to stay behind and get a job in the US or get your papers always think it's that easy. You could be languishing in abject penury while in UK or US without a job, as a matter of fact, when you observe the high rate of job losses and shrinking economy in developed world, you'll be scared if you can ever get a job as soon as you need it. It could take you so many years of job search before you eventually find one , and even after you find one, high tax rates almost ruin your savings. Not every worker abroad saves more money than home-based workers. In my case, I wasn't even offered that much - NOT up to 250k at all, but I'm coping and I'm sure it'll definitely get better as there numerous opportunities to grow and advance in career. In addition, it's a federal job and the job security side of it was the major encouragement to accept the offer.

In conclusion, if you can finish you PhD first, please do so. Don't throw in the towel 6 months to your completing your studies simply because of a 250k job offer. Remember your pg research degree can always fetch you more offer. If you have completed it, then I will advice you to take up the offer and also explore avenues for better offer either in Naija or US/Uk. Keep your visa open to enable you move at any time.

Brother, I wonder if you read what I posted past the first few lines. I agree with your original post. That couldn't be more clearer in my previous post. Sometimes e be like say people just wan needlessly argue.

Showing the view of the seller do not directly mean I agree with it. But it is always a balanced approach to look at both sides.

you didnt comprehend my post either. We are both on the same side - against adverts that do not reveal price. The car is clean and no doubt, if he intends to sell it at the prevailing market price (2.7- 2.8m) it won't last longer than split seconds. Apparently, OP wants to prolly sell high and so, scared he can't imagine the scary quote he intends to sell it not being severely kicked against.

U are right, I expect to have idea of the price b4 I call u, sometime if u call the price quote will be ridiculously high that the caller will feel he just wasted his time and his precious credit.

sellers do this on NL deliberately - especially when they know the price is very high. To avoid online criticisms, they make every effort to conceal the price until you call them. we are all aware of this gimmick.
