An accident happened today 5th February on OAU CAMPUS around 10pm on the road from new buka to SUB where a student of the department of International Relations was run over by a drunk non student... The student was purported to be returning from academics area where he was reading to his hall of residence (ETF hall) when the incident happened. According to eye witness accounts, he was walking on the walkway when a speeding vehicle swerved off the road, knocking him off the road into the drains by the roadside, the vehicle later swerved back into a ditch on the other side of the road, the driver of the car was confirmed to be driving under intoxication, having just left a bar in New Bukateria. The drunk driver when apprehended said he is a student of the school, when asked of his department, he said, "LAWYER, pART 2". He has since been handed over to the school's security team for justice. The accident victim was immediately rushed to the school's health centre where he is said to be regaining consciousness... A student who was part of the first responders said the student couldn't move any part of his body, except for his head, he was thought to be lifeless in the gutter until someone actually saw him move his head. Students from ETF hall and FAJUYI hall later occupied the road, blocking access to new buka to other drivers who could also get drunk and run other students over. Over speeding has actually become a big problem at night on OAU campus, last year Christmas, a part four student from the department of MEDICINE died of a hit and run incident. It is high time the school management took drastic measures to curb further occurrences of such on campus or else, no one is safe to move about at night. -Pauladonis- ratedred..com

Look at what this generation has turned to.. .educated fools who have been robbed of their smartness by their smartphones... In this kind of situation, i would have called the appropriate quarters to come and remove the rubbish... The Government didn't tar the road so that some folk can just park their trucks in the middle of the road and start a gimmick. Would he have done this same thing if he was riding a bike or car? If this is allowed to continue, the mosques will be empty and the roads full. That is how insurgency starts... When they feel they can do anything they want. |
And Dalung is even more shameless, having to compare the embarrassing situation to that of South Africa. |
Three days to the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Team Nigeria took delivery of the much awaited kits after most of the athletes had concluded their events with some already back to their bases. A top official of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria who disclosed this to Sports Vanguard Thursday, said the kits which arrived Wednesday night would no longer serve any purpose because “most of the athletes have left after concluding their events”. That's how bad nigeria has become... Get the details and more news at http://ratedred..com/2016/08/shameful-team-nigeria-kits-arrive-3.html |

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday commissioned the standard-gauge Abuja-Kaduna rail services. The commissioning signals the commercialization of the train services after weeks of test run during which passengers and goods were transported free of charge. The billion dollar modern rail project started by the Goodluck Jonathan administration, reached an advanced stage before the end of that government and was completed by the Buhari administration. Speaking at the train’s main station at Idu, Abuja, President Buhari said the federal government would link all states and commercial centres in the country with rail lines. He later took a train ride from Idu to Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja. The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Mahmud Mohammed; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Minister of the FCT, Muhammad Bello and Minister of State for Transportation (Aviation), Senator Hadi Sirika were among dignitaries that witnessed the flag-off of commercial operations on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line. No fewer than 300,000 applications were received for the 750 positions advertised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, an official has said. Its Director of Public Affairs, Mr Osita Nwaja, announced the figures in Enugu when he visited the Enugu zonal office of the News Agency of Nigeria. Nwaja said that the recruitment was segmented, adding that the first phase of the exercise ended on June 26. “We had more than 300,000 applicants for the 750 positions which are in three cadres, junior, middle and senior cadres. “We are considering a whole lot of junior staff so that they will grow in the system. “The criteria were well spelt out and those that met them wrote the examination,” he said. Nwaja said that by the recruitment, the EFCC had moved to fortify its ranks in view of the onerous task of fighting corruption. “The fight against corruption is fundamental to everything we do in this country. It is a fight we cannot afford to lose. Over 300,000 apply for 750 EFCC jobs http://ratedred..com/2016/06/over-300000-apply-for-750-efcc-jobs.html Extracted from http://www.vanguardngr.com/ |
