samfibby: Been to this city twice, quite clean and peaceful. And the people are just 2 friendly and welcoming, a prefrence to ibadan in so many ways. Pls, keep it up.Please don't compare Oshogbo to Ibadan any time. Ibadan might be bigger and more industrious, but she's too dirty and rough. I'm always discouraged anytime I'm going to Oshogbo from Lagos But I think this their present governor is doing better, let's wait and see how it's going to be in 2015 |
This thread is about Osun state. Kindly open another thread if you need to ask about any other thing. If you do this again, you will be banned. Thanks for your cooperation.
Abi now ![]() |
.come did u say no electricity supply, abeg were? because i stay in abakaliki and we re enjoying steady power supply there.
I doubt that too, may be he meant inner villages |
@achi4u, we better stop the self deceit and be factual. We bragging on lies is not going to change anything, we better criticize now and know where we're lagging. Here is a thread you created yourself about Ebonyi, Abakaliki specifically. https://www.nairaland.com/1010260/abakaliki-pictures And you think those pix there are worth bragging of? When a state capital is like that, what should be expected of towns which have lesser attention from government in that state? I'm from state of Osun, and I can't boast of the state in term of development compared to states like Lagos, Edo, Bauchi and my be Imo. I just laugh at threads where people display how deceived they are. I created a thread some time, for people who wishes to visit the state https://www.nairaland.com/1011191/oshogbo-state-osun-pix My bro, our states are not worth been proud of when it comes to development. Let's be real. It's not our fault but that of our governors who go there to chop money and nothing more. It's just few of them that know what they're there for and have the benefit of their people in mind. |
ibis: @ paul john. Thanks. Cancelled my trip because soeone said this is osun oshogbo festival period so things will be expensive. Thanks for ur post. Very helpful. Im more confident to go now once the festival period passes. I dont speak yoruba, i hope prices will not double due to that oooo. Lol!And the festival is over now, prices would have dropped ![]() It's cool to make your trip now. About the yoruba thing, I think you shouldn't have problem with the furnitures, beads maker. Not sure about that of the market women. But you can try and meet anyone you think can speak english around. If you're Igbo, you can as well work into some sales shop, they're quite many there, find anyone you think can interpret for you. All is well ![]()

Esiere: pls does anyone travel to Osogbo every weekend from Lagos and come back to Lagos early morning Monday to resume work, i need someone i can come back with early morning.Mine is not every weekend, just like once in a month. But I think you'll easily get that of Lagos-ibadan. May be you can try and stay along Abere(Oshogbo) very early in the morning, hopefully you might get free ride. ![]()

@post, I'll put the blame on the leadership of the state. Of course, a state doesn't get developed over night, but if the government is at least doing the little it is capable of, it'll get better someday. We can all testify to the seriousness of governors like Fashola, osho and okorocha compared to their predecessor. The future of the people lies in their hand, they have the power to put capable people in the leadership seat of the state. But our people are not so enlightened to see all these, they collect #1000 and cast their vote for thieves and incompetent figure heads. The gap between the development of Imo and Abia wasn't that much some years back, but right now it's very wide. It's because of one thinking governor and the other clueless. They can say Ebonyi has little source of income, but no matter how little the revenue of a state is if the government is thinking right, it'll get it right with time. My state(state of Osun) is a typical example, wasn't so different from yours in term of development. People might say the development is slow, but the present government is by far better than the guy there before, in term of development and amenities. In summary, I think our people better assess an aspirant, from past records and not from little change they get from them, before giving them a bigger assignment of governing a state. #freeteamgarri |

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it arrested 4,241 persons for drug-related offences in the first half of 2012. The Head of Public Affairs of the agency, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said on Friday that the figure is the total arrests made in the 36 states and Abuja. Mr. Ofoyeju said that 3,979 of those arrested were male, while 262 were female. He said that 1.08 million kilograms of drugs were also confiscated from drug traffickers during the period. According to Mr. Ofoyeju, the drugs include 50,294 kg of cannabis, 149,399 kg of heroin, 58,026 kg of cocaine,; and 823,877 kg of psychotropic substances. The drug agency spokesman said that 978 of the 4,241 persons arrested have been convicted and are serving jail terms. “The reason why more people are yet to be convicted is because the courts are on recess,” Mr. Ofoyeju said. “Once the courts are back in session, the other cases in court would be tried,’’ he said. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/98516-978-drug-offenders-convicted-in-6-months-ndlea.html |
Callotti: This would not surprise me. There are infiltrates in the CIA and the KGB abi? Those ones are not illiterate like bokoharam #freeteamgarri |
Nigeria Police are just different. Just because they weren't smart enough to get the guys who committed the havoc, the next thing is for them to detain the boss of the victim. WTH #freeteamgarri |
Calm down bro #freeteamgarri |
Free them. I think it's fun sometimes #freeteamgarri |
Are you kidding me #freeteamgarri |
You mean Imo is not safe #freeteamgarri |
Of course, they should. What do you expect them to survive with during the period of strike? I think it's the government fault in the first place, that made them go on strike, and they should pay for what they started. #freeteamgarri |
What makes him Charly boys father #freeteamgarri |

May be we might do better if the FG just focus on Female football and the Paralympics. |
