Tolerance ? Haha the past 50 decades has been marred with religious violence in Nigeria , with the Christians as the victims in the "equation" and you talk about tolerance . Tolerance from the Christians has kept Nigeria as one BUT there is a limit to Tolerance .
Some group just have to learn tolerance. Have you seen the S/Westerners chasing you out of their land because you're not from there or because your religion is different from theirs. Bro, let the truth be said. |
I don't see why the Igbos should be clamoring for presidency, if they're serious about seceding from the country. And if really they want to rule this country, they need to cary at least one more geopolitical zone along with them apart from the S/South, to balance the vote. That's if the S/South would be in their support. |
Mr. Achuzie said that that was also the resolution at its 3rd National Executive/Steering Committee meeting held in Lagos in June that Igbos should have a shot at the presidency after Jonathan's tenure. Retired Col. Joe Achuzie, President General of Igbozurume, an Igbo socio-political organisation, said on Sunday that Igbo presidency after the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan was not negotiable. Mr. Achuzie stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Aba, Abia. He said that Igbozurume, a political, cultural and social group, was being repackaged to achieve the feat, stressing that it was the same group that helped Gov. Rochas Okorocha to win Imo gubernatorial election in 2011. Mr. Achuzie said that that was also the resolution at its 3rd National Executive/Steering Committee meeting held in Lagos in June that Igbos should have a shot at the presidency after Jonathan's tenure. "It must be the turn of Igbos to occupy Aso-Rock at the end of Jonathan's tenure. "Even though Jonathan still has the right to re-contest after 2015 by virtue of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That Igbos must not allow the chance to pass us by this time around after his tenure,’’ he said. Mr. Achuzie, who is also the Ikemba Ahaba, said that Ohaneze had been in existence immediately after the civil war, but as cultural and social group which had made it difficult for Ndi-Igbo to come together to identify with one Igboman to be able to capture the presidency. "The last person we had was Sir Mbanefo who tried with others to create a situation where Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe should present himself when the military decided to give civilian the opportunity to vie for the August position. "After Nnamdi Azikiwe’s attempts, no Igboman had been allowed to venture near that position, the most we have is compensating us for assisting non-Igbo to get into that August position and what they gave us was a vice-president. "This, the present Igbozurume said no, it won’t happen again. We will not give our allegiance or support to non-Igboman anymore to lord or rule over us,’’ he said. Mr. Achuzie said that the Igbozurume members were organising themselves politically, culturally and socially to be their brothers’ keeper and to use the dynamic of ``Igboism’’ which made Ndi-Igbo the darling of others who had ascended to the presidency to get others support too. "We say enough is enough , we will not serve other people again, let other people reciprocate the actions and attempts we have made, let them show us that the help we gave them in the past was appreciated by supporting an Igboman to become the president of Nigeria. "And we will gladly make those group to be the vice president,’’ he said. He said that Igbozurume as a body would not engage in partisan party politics but will relate to any political party that has a better chance for Igbos to actualise the presidential demand. "Ndi-Igbo must decide who goes for us and should not accept imposition of Igbo candidates by other zones. "The zoning arrangement of PDP is an internal arrangement of PDP members only, and shall not disrupt our quest for Igbo presidency after the tenure of Jonathan,"he said. According to him, Igbozurume is an organisation fashioned out to protect, defend and demand the political rights of Ndi-Igbo from the centre, and it is for all Igbos both at home and the Diaspora. Mr. Achuzie said that it had no political party, pointing out that Nigeria had more than 40 registered political parties which Ndi-Igbo could belong to achieve its dream. http://premiumtimesng.com/politics/6343-igbo_presidency_not_negotiable.html |
Although I'm not be interested in the nation... whatever, but it's a good thing seeing a man standing to defend the flag of a nation he chooses to be. |
It always annoying hearing that a god father somewhere want or doesn't want... it's insane. Are Nigerians not wise enough to decide their destiny? It's a pity that some states still put the choice of god father as a vital criteria in electing their leaders. @Floriana, nice post. I hope other states can follow the steps of Edo, Oyo state and Imo State like Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa and still under the bondage of god fathering. ![]() |
Sorry to break into this topic, I think this is important. Not sure of how true, but I think I have to share it. Received on BBM NB: I'm not responsible for this Info. It happened to be false, that why I didn't create a whole thread for it "Please stop sucking orange the nigeria police have announced this morning that they have confirmed 13 people dead in Lagos and the orange is spreading faster please inform others send this to all your friends and family if you love them...NPF" |
How sensible is it for young men to be sleeping with old women, I wonder how they feel. ![]() |
Lagos Traffic Law: Transporters meet govt Monday AUGUST 5, 2012 BY LEKE BAIYEWU Transporters in Lagos State are to meet with the state government over the new traffic law which bars the National Union of Road Transport Workers from collecting tolls from public car parks and bus stops, among other restrictions on Monday (tomorrow). The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, who disclosed last Friday, had said the union should carry out its daily operations from its office, like other unions. He explained that the step was based on the report by the Justice Dolapo Akinsanya-led panel in 2008 on the functions of the NURTW. Opeifa had said, “The report, which was given by the panel, comprises what Lagosians have been saying about the activities of the union: fighting and misuse of parks, collecting money on the roads indiscriminately, stopping passengers, abusing alcohol, among others.” But, a former Chairman, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Bishop Law Edema, who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone on Saturday, said even though he had yet to be briefed about the development, the new state law could not stand. He said, “What I know is that the Federal Government established the two transport unions, National Union of Road Transport Workers and RTEAN. Whichever law a state makes that is against the federal law will not stand. The state law must bow to the federal law. The state Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos State, Mr. Tajudeen Agbede, told SUNDAY PUNCH that he would keep mum on the issue until after a meeting with Opeifa on Monday. He said, “We have informed the commissioner on our stand and we are meeting him on Monday. Whatever decision we reach will be made known to the public.” The founder of Oodu’a Peoples Congress, Dr. Frederick Fasehun, however, lauded the government over the new policy, which he said was long overdue to check the menace of transporters in the state. He said, “The law is right enough and very much in order. If Lagos State does not make laws that will check the menace of the transporters, its economy will just collapse. There is still more to do on the Okada (commercial motorcycles); there should be further checks on their operations because the menace it also constitutes is worrisome.” Speaking on the barring of the NURTW officials who collect tolls from motorists, he added, “Why do people want to reap where they did not sow? If you ask Lagosians of their reaction to this, 80 to 90 per cent of them will say the step is in order.” http://www.punchng.com/news/lagos-traffic-law-transporters-meet-govt-monday/ |
Probably to compensate. Nothing is going to happen if they don't give them at first. C/River better wise up and receive the uncommon favour, because those oil wells are gone forever. |
Guy don fresh since. Even before he turn star |
"Akwa Ibom is today an oil producing state because of the political solution, ordinarily Akwa Ibom is not an oil producing state, and they do not have a single oil well onshore." The Cross River Government has given reasons for rejecting the N250 million which the Akwa Ibom Government offered as monthly grant for settlement for the loss of 76 oil wells. The government said on Friday in Calabar that it was a degrading offer which portrayed the leadership of Cross River as opportunistic and irresponsible. The government’s position was disclosed by Attah Ochinke, the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice at a press conference. It would be recalled that the Supreme Court had in recent judgement ceded 76 oil wells which Cross River laid claims to Akwa Ibom. In the aftermath of the judgment, Gov. Godswwill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom had offered to pay Cross River N250 million as grant to cushion the pains of the loss. In his reaction, Mr. Ochinke said it was not correct to say that Cross River rejected overtures for amicable settlement with Akwa Ibom. "Akwa Ibom government said we rejected an amicable settlement. That is not correct; we rather went to court to enforce the settlement that had already been reached. "The matter had been settled and agreement written and it was implemented for three years, so what has happened for the parties to now withdraw from that agreement? "The government of Akwa Ibom said they offered us when the matter was in court, N250 million a month as a peaceful settlement on the matter. "I do not know when the matter will be settled but I am very certain of one thing, if we do not recover the territory it is not because it does not belong to us, but because we are unable to recover the territory. "If we were just chancing, if we were just being opportunistic and say look let us try our luck may be we might get something out of it, we will probably will accept anything that comes out of it including the offer from the government of Akwa Ibom. "But you do not give up your legal right, give up your territory and make yourself an object of charity of another government. "Akwa Ibom was virtually telling us: let us keep your oil wells, we will find you something. That is not what a responsible government will accept. That is why Akwa Ibom said that we rejected an amicably settlement. "We already have settled the matter amicably, so if you want amicably settlement all you just needed to do is to respect the settlement that was already in place,’’ he said. Ochinkesaid that the claims by Akwa Ibom that Cross River owed it more than N18 billion from the 76 oil wells was also baseless. "Let me say this, at no time was Cross River receiving money from Akwa Ibom. At no time during this crisis was Akwa Ibom giving Cross River any money. Akwa Ibom has no money to collect from us. "If they are so sure, let them be able to say this: how and where they gave Cross River money. And on the one hand they say they offered Cross River N250 million a month and we rejected it. "And now they are turning round to say we owed them N18 billion; so at what time did they give us the money? "Akwa Ibom is today an oil producing state because of the political solution, ordinarily Akwa Ibom is not an oil producing state, and they do not have a single oil well onshore. "We also know that the Supreme Court in 2002 held that the offshore territory that is the territorial sea of Nigeria does not belong to the state,’’ Mr. Ochinke said. He said that the territory of a state stops at the coast line of the state, adding that the sea belongs to the Federal Government as an incident of sovereignty. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/6334-cross_river_blasts_akwa_ibom_over_76_oilwells.html |
We are watching. Wanna know who the boss is |
adino: UP ACN! UP ACN! UP ACN Paul John: Some people are just so funny with their post. Imagine a government who ruled a state every since 1999-2011 close to twelve years and did virtually nothing tangible. And some one open his mouth to criticize an administration who took over not up to two years for the former administrations default. SMH |
kunzel: Those pictures are not from Obafemi Owode Primary School. I know the school cus it's close to where I stay. Their uniform is green & white and not blue. Stop spreading lies.Mind taking a pix, may be on Monday when the pupils are in school to justify your post. Pix speak louder. It'll be well appreciated. |
KINGwax: i was actually waiting for u to display your utter foolishness. The same way for paymasters alwys shoot themselves in the foot. U won't disappoint. Ogun state is jes a year old under ACN, and i can tell u dt massive renovation of both primary schools and secondary schools have been undergoing. School materials like bags, exercise books and the lots were distributed for free to the students and i can vouch dt by d end of ACN's first tenure, testimonies will be said.No mind am |

Beaf: Lol! My bad. ![]() |
GAR3TH: Lagos debt is truly not that high. You have to look at it from a Debt-to-GDP ratio. Lagos debt is $500 million USD but its GDP is around $35-40 Billion USD. So lagos debt to GDP is about 1%. For the most part all states have a Debt-to-GDP ratio of around 1% which is healthy. They don't understand Eco 10..... ![]() |
Imagine Abia owing $32million +,approximately (N5,225,147,360) |
asha 80: errm what about lagos?although i believe lagos can afford to pay back. You've answered yourself. Anytime Lagos is ready, she'll do justice to her debt, it's not a big deal at all. The internal revenue of Lagos is more than the Federal allocation of Delta and Bayelsa join together. See what PDP has done to Osun State? They owed N18.5billion out of N25billion For goodness sake, what do Osun wants to do with 6 world class stadium? ![]() PDP I hail thee... |
Wow! People do you see what PDP government has done to OYO and Ogun state? ![]() All the external debt of these two states were caused by the former administration of PDP, and they have nothing to show for it. Upon all these debt, the present administration has borrowed nothing, imagine what the debt would look like if they've followed the step of their predecessor |
Beaf: Dude, the truth is bitter. The entire World knows that NURTW is a major Tinubu tool, so I've only stated the obvious.I'm not disputing the fact whether NURTW is Tinubus tool or not. But one thing is certain, life is better under ACN. And do want to explain how Tinubu also used NURTW in OYO in 2005 What a joke. Do you here any noise from tout/NURTW in OYO State since ACN took over?Stop lying ![]() |
@ DayoKanu GOD bless you, I watched that video it was like half of what it was in Osun State when the state was under PDP. Not sure if I'll be able to get the video. And Beaf you need to understand this: All States presently under ACN experiences peace by far compared to when they were under PDP. Again, all states ACN rule has experienced development by far than they were under the former administration of PDP. Don't mention Osun state because it's my state and I know the condition it was under PDP. It by far better now under ACN. Some ACN governors might not be very active, but they're by far better than the PDP governors they took over from. |
D sage: TO MODERATORS;It's the tactic to attract traffic, you need to get the drift. |

27naira: who is more stupid, the poster or the moderator that brought this to frontpage ?I give it to the moderator, OP is just wanna be #Odelawanmejejiuizm. |
okosodo: it is arabs that disturb world peace by constant bombingsOh! It's arabs that cause the war with Vietnam?! It's arab that cause the war with North Korea?! With the former USSR?! Wise up. NB: I'm not justifying the Arabs |
It's just funny to me how things are in Nigeria. It's like Lagos State and the Federal Republic Of Nigeira. Are other states dead or what? Even Abuja the capital city is not heard. And again it's like Fasholas name ring bell in the ear that Jonathan. What's really happening? |
