masties2: We use dollar rates at the current black market price. I will look for the thread, I really wish to start the sack bag farm. Thanks That is so good, l hope she remits to you via a USD account. Many Nigerians here are into the fabric business amongst other stuff since the Kenyan shilling has become strong as it now exchanges for 1 ksh to N3.70. |

Syrine22: sir i thank you for your observations but one thing i am telling you is that pictures are everywhere so i can boldly say that anyone can make use of pictures...i am not here to convince you to do the business and that is why i said if interested contact me...if i was a false person then people who may have contacted me must have said that.Selling is kenya is good but i never told you my exporting train goes through kenya..if you are doing the business as you claim then you should know that millions of product that are sold online can have the same pictures...what is important is youi doing the needful and it is supplying your customers sir. I never alluded you being fake because l stated everyone has his/her client base. I rather encouraged applying best practices so one will not be a flash in the pan in the business and this is from personal experience gathered from a venture far from cocoa powder. Even for the local market, let your business look exceptional as it will open doors for you from where it is least expected. |

I have cocoa powder well packaged in Ondo state supplied to high end stores in Nairobi and the "oyinbos" that patronize the stores feel comfortable about the product in its entirety. dav8id: then have you try this by exporting to others western countries apart of Africa countries ?
and let assume produce like cashew nut ,sesame seed and rest of them?
I see stand that there are many others goods you need paper to export them..
95 % of Nigeria produce are being exported to western countries not kenya Go through my posts again.....I never insinuated in anyway that documentation is not needed l only highlighted the exceptions. After all when we export from Kenya to Europe it goes through a whole lot of documentations. |

masties2: I am supplying a Kenyan woman.
In other news, I really need to start a small garden in a residential area in Lagos. No soil in the compound just cemented ground . I was wondering if I could do the sack bag thing or use plastic buckets. I am interested in planting just a few vegetables, pepper and sweet potatoes. What do you advice? Are you using the dollar rate in your transaction with her or Shillings to Naira rate?. Yes you can use sack bags, it serves as an alternative where hitherto one can not grow crops. There is a lady in another thread who is growing cabbages in sack bags. |

Since you are sure of your craft, you should push it vigorously allaying people's fear that the gas will not "blow". |
Business › Re: . by Pavore9: 8:23pm On Jul 23, 2016 |
stagger: I'll give you a scenario. In March wen there was a crippling fuel scarcity, people had to carry their generators to the filling station to buy fuel. I would routinely carry my 6.5KVA, 5KVA (both for office use) as well as 3.5KVA home generators in my car. Sometimes, I would be turned back due to instructions not to sell to generators. I had on one occasion entered into an altercation with a policeman who refused my boy entering the station with a gen.
All this while, LPG was in surplus. So even while we wait for an explanation of the cost per hour of running time, we can imagine the cost in man hours queuing for fuel, not to talk of the embarrassment.
Get the picture? Am in for anything outside the "regular". Where l am, biogas generated from cow dung and vegetable wastes is being used to cook, pump water and power the chaff cutter used in the dairy farm shed, Since LPG is cheap and can serve the same purpose that is a big up. |
Agriculture › Re: The Reason Why You Must Export? by Pavore9(mod): 7:45pm On Jul 23, 2016 |
Connoisseur: Actually you need licence to export anything out of the country, this licence helps for documentation and records purposes. When you give your agent your items in lagos,he uses his own name and minimum documentation to get it to you, that's why you pay some handling fees. Also anything can be exported without a licence whether by sea, air or land borders.
As with everything in Naija, this is the informal form of exports. Through the agent it is far cheaper, if you deal directly with Kenya Airways one is paying nothing less than $2 per kilo not talk of our customs and on arrival at the Nairobi airport, Kenyan customs is going to rip you off with charges but through the agents it comes in as consolidated cargo and mostly declared as spare parts. That is how it is done to export goods to Sudan, Mozambique, Angola, South Africa etc. |

MadamExcellency: Let's not change the subject of this discourse.
Our Legislators have been ridiculed, battered and disgraced for nothing other than mere gossips.
What becomes of their families (relatives, wives and children)?
What about their Career and public image?
Just put yourself in their shoe to know how it pinches.
Can you imagine being accused of rape in school by a lady you know nothing about and the University Senate approves a guilty verdict by a kangaroo panel and it was pasted on the University Bulletin Board? What will your parents and kinsmen think of you?
It is painful and disastrous to imagine. I just wish we all feel the same for our fellow Nigerians who are spending time in prisons across the Country for crimes they never committed as it is also painful and disastrous to imagine when they do finally come out they do be tagged ex-convicts for the miscarriage of justice. The legislators should focus on clearing their names while l invest my sympathy to what is dearer to my heart. |
