nortcentrallord: Can you compare the economy of Kenya to Nigeria. If you think Kenya is hard to survive, return to Nigeria and face what those there are facing @ the moment.
Am not complaining it is harder in Kenya to survive rather am enjoying a lot convenience l don;t get to enjoy in Nigeria. I live in Nairobi and have never had any business queuing up at a filling station nor having any need for generator because power is constant. Though taxation is far higher in Kenya but in all if as a Nigerian one has something doing economically, one is better off.
charix: Reverend sisters've a purpose. Unmarried women've none. Society continues from marriages, a google search shows the benefits. Nairalanders rant about gays and how they naturally can't create life, what if women choose to stay unmarried yet have children? It's a worse cost on the society.
In present times many are being convinced that society continues through procreation outside marriage! Even some men feel why marry when they can impregnate a woman, have a child which they are willing to make financial provision for without the "burden" of the commitment of marriage as they don't want to loose their freedom!
Deliberately having children outside marriage which is boldly celebrated in our society today is a time bomb waiting to explode because it is so against what makes a family!
charix: Small Shalewa of those years would soon become a married woman. Meanwhile Genevieve, Cossy, Rita Dominic, Munachi and co are still running about forming single old cargoes when another baby born at the height of their careers is tying the knot.
I believe this country should start a seniority system where in a crowd unmarried women would not deserve the right to speak where married ones are present. It doesn't matter the age gap, marriage would represent an enabler of maturity.
Being unmarried is not a crime against humanity nor God! Maybe Reverend Sisters should not even speak in the presence of married women!
mayorchelsea: "Buhari is stubborn, he refused to devalue the Naira" rhetoric seems to have gone down since the CBN did it.Despite allowing the supposed devaluation, is the exchange rate favourable? The old man wasn't convinced about it but had to bow to pressure.,my opinion though.
To devalue a currency when the country is not exporting makes no sense, Nigeria is an import based economy thus the crisis we face. Everyone must brace up. I am buying a litre of Petrol for about N300 per litre here in Kenya and out of which the Kenyan government collects about N135 as its own taxes and levies!
Hmm...he was one of the people who decided who gets what during the 16 years of PDP in the centre, what development did he bring to his people and he was once even a Minister of Works
One really need to read through the history of trousers to know that there is nothing linking it to the bible nor Christianity as during the era the bible was written both men and women wore tunics. Jesus and his disciples were known to have worn tunics.
Even African males wearing trousers know it is a borrowed way of dressing because our ancestors were known for their loincloths.
Trousers are of Persian origin, which were worn by both male and female before it spread to other regions.
See the Scot kilts being worn by the men in the picture, they cannot be accused of wearing skirts like women because this has always been their traditional way of dressing and it shows that wearing of trousers is a borrowed way of dressing.
The bible did not define trouser as a male clothing!
whirlwind7: Hi, Pavore. I want to know, what tomato hybrids are referred to as "indeterminate" variety? Indeterminate are the ones that keep producing fruits for more than a single season after harvesting. Also, their plants grow much taller and need to be staked or supported. Problem is, I'm not sure of the variety's specific name.
There are many of them depending on the company selling them, some of their names and attributes are in the link.
Check the link below to see the Indeterminate varieties they stock. click on each of them to get their description.
While many Nigerians who are clearly innocent are languishing for years in several prisons across Nigeria still awaiting trial and these folks are here making noise upandan!
mimmmms: Have been wanting to Pen a thread, don't know why am stalling the cabbage was just a trial version for my consumption, snails didn't let the head fold on time.
If you have crops like rosemary, fennel, parsley etc growing in your garden it will discourage snails from coming around.
It shouldn't, let the market forces determine it. When more Nigerians get engaged in non-oil exports as against wholesale imports, the foreign exchange market will experience some form of stability.

Some buses in Nairobi have Wi-fi enabled and have the password pasted for the passengers to see (just like the one in the picture) but who get time for that! Some are like mobile clubs, pimped with heavy sound system and flat screens to watch musicals. The more pimped the bus is, the more passengers it attracts!
