Christianity Etc › Actually, Do You Need Church As A Christian For Anything? by paxonel(op): 11:44am On Aug 11, 2024*. Modified: 2:42am On Aug 12, 2024 |
For those of you that have travelled to the Uk and other European countries where Christianity is prevalent, you will notice that few people especially their young population have the habit of going to church every Sunday, unlike in Africa where religious attendance is the bane of Christians every Sunday. The reason is that, the vast majority of Christians in Africa are technically ignorant of their bible So, it appears that African christians cannot do without church every Sunday. Poverity of most citizens can be pointed as the main cause.
Poverty has a way of tilting the mind to put hope on miracles where miracles do not exist.
So the question is, do you need church for anything?
The answer is, the only reason why you will need church is because you need to be alleviated. Otherwise, it is the church that needs your money. But when you are self sufficient you don't need church for anything.
John 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
As a Christian, your worship was suppose to be between you and your God without interference of anyone, group or place.
It was never suppose to be a thing of show |

IbeOkehie: This is a real thing. Back in 2008 to 20015 or so there was a Director in the Ministry of Mines & Steel or whatever it was that basically lived in Europe! No joke!
Why not simply abolish the ministry and sell off all the mines and factories to private investors and be done with it all. Even if Ajaokuta is sold for $1, it's still better than generating this level of losses every year. That's simple economic math, but THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE will never support that, they want the government to FIGHT CORRUPTION.
The PEOPLE of Nigeria support such laws, that's why they get passed.
Congrats to that Senator Akpokiti or whatever, this is one of her causes that got her elected by Kogi people. She just kept spinning tales of how a corrupt cabal was determined to keep the people of that State from enjoying the riches of Ajaokuta.
I watched some of her speeches on video and I couldn't stop laughing. Her whole schtick is that the government must not sell Ajaokuta but make it work.... to the point of your comment, the people voted for her. The woman is good, I tell you.
Good Luck to Nigeria. There are certain governmental laws and principles that should be sacrosanct irrespective of what the people thinks. This is how democracy works in the west. We can't just say because we are practicing democracy ,therefore the people out of their ignorance, should be allowed to destroy their own economy at the long term by the way they think |

So Christian that study the Bible will never believe this point you raised. There is no place in the Bible that said Jesus is the true God Read John 17: 3 and see how many TRUE GOD was mentioned whether you believe that Jesus is the true God or not is of no use or significant to the bible. What the bible emphasizes is, believe that Jesus is the Christ and you will be saved. Ubenedictus: Invariably Jesus founded one church and the apostles though dispersed in different places were part of that one body of Christ and condemned anyone who brought division into that communion.
If you have a group that separated itself from that one the apostles formed then you have committed the sin of schism, AKA division The word "Condemned " used in this context, does it also implies rejecting the schismist sinner of Christ? That is, if one commit this sin of division, then he should not be entitled to Christ, is that the case? |

So, one of the reason why Martin Luther left the catholic church was that Catholics were thought that being a Christian was a function of adhering completely to the teachings of the Pope, rather than using the personal conscience . With this, don't you think that the church had in their own way contributed to the schism and disunity of the body of Christ? |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Conversation With A Catholic by paxonel(m): 7:43pm On Aug 06, 2024 |
Ubenedictus: There is no unity in the body of Christ today. That unity ended when Martin Luther broke away to form the first protestant church, since then we have many churches with very different contradictory doctrines. Since Martin Luther schism from the church all that schism from him only continued the divisions. That is why the bible condemns schism as a sin, all who are part of those groups that divided themselves are living the reality of the sin that scripture condemns Invariably, the bible condemn communion order than the catholic communion? |

Politics › Federal Lawmaker Defends Dangote, Accuses NNPCL, NMDPRA Of Sabotage by paxonel(op): 7:48am On Aug 02, 2024 |
The Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Hon. (Dr) Philip Agese, has defended the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Company against what he called false allegations to demarket the indigenous company for the selfish interest of saboteurs who are bent on keeping Nigeria in the energy crisis quagmire.
Hon. Agbese, who is the member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency of Benue state in the House of Representatives, therefore, accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) of being behind the attempts to discredit the private Refinery to advantage of International Oil Companies (IOCs).
The lawmaker, in a statement issued in Abuja, wondered why a regulatory agency would go all out to frustrate the efforts of his country’s entrepreneur to give foreigners the oxygen to continue to run their imperialistic businesses in the country to retard Nigeria’s indigenisation drive in the oil and gas as well as other sectors.
He said preliminary investigations by the parliament has proved, especially the Chief Executive Officer of NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, wrong of his concotted allegations that Dangote Refinery products were inferior to the imported quality.
“It is quite unbelievable that the Dangote Refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (bpd), believed to be Africa’s largest refinery, and the World’s 7th largest by capacity and constructed with the intention to alleviate the petroleum products needs and accompanying pains faced by Nigerians will be brought into public opprobrium by no one else than NMDPRA boss Farouk Ahmed.
“By the spirit of the Petroleum Industry Act which created the agency which he superintend over today, he should be the one encouraging local refineries to grow by providing a level playing field them to operate but unfortunately, he is the one stifling indigenisation of the sector and watering ground for economic neocolonialism.
“Nigerians, including critical stakeholders, such as the parliament woke up to gibberish spunned by Ahmed when he declared that: ‘The Dangote refinery is still in the pre-commissioning stage. It has not been licenced yet. We haven’t licenced them yet. They are still in pre-commissioning stage. I think they’re about 45 per cent completed, in completion rather.
“So we cannot rely heavily on one refinery to feed the nation, because Dangote is requesting that we should suspend or stop all importation of petroleum products, especially AGO (diesel) and jet fuel, and direct all marketers to the refinery.
“So, in terms of quality, currently…Dangote refinery as well as some major refineries like Waltersmith refinery, produce between 650ppm to 1,200 ppm. So, in terms of quality, their quality is much inferior to the imported quality.”
“That was least expected of him moreso that, the Chairman of the House Committee on Downstream, Ikenga Ugochinyere, and Chairman of the House Committee on Midstream, Okojie Odianosen, oversaw the collection of samples from the Mild Hydro Cracking (MHC) unit of Dangote refinery for testing of all the samples.
“Lab tests revealed that Dangote’s diesel had a sulphur content of 87.6 ppm (parts per million), whereas the other two samples showed sulphur levels exceeding 1800 ppm and 2000 ppm respectively, disproving his malicious claims.
“It is also surprisingly that NNPCL too is in this vicious cycle as it has been been revealed that the Federal government of Nigeria subscribed 20% shares in Dangote Refinery has failed to redeem its obligation and now owns 7.2% through NNPCL. As it that is not enough, the NNPCL is cohorting with cantankerous elements to deny Dangote crude but selling them IOCs,” Hon. Agbese stated. https://leadership.ng/federal-lawmaker-defends-dangote-accuses-nnpcl-nmdpra-of-attempt-to-demarket-refinery

Christianity Etc › Re: Abel Damina, A Frustrated School Drop-out Turned Heretic. by paxonel(m): 5:03am On Jul 31, 2024*. Modified: 5:34am On Jul 31, 2024 |
Ogbadabada: A public and social affairs analyst, Pius Adebayo has said "Abel Damina is not a strange name in the ears of many Nigerians as far as the peddling of Christian heresies is concerned. He has carved for himself an unenviable niche in the world of heretic and controversial doctrines.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Adebayo stated that, "Whether such doctrines are being triggered by his sheer lack of understanding of the Scripture or inspired by some strange demonic influences remains a worrisome and intriguing subject. But more worrisome is the fate of young, immature and gullible Christians who are being swayed into the abyss of sinful and damnable compromise by his heretical and evil doctrines. For a so-called man of God to have and maintain a doctrinal stance that promotes unrestrained sin, immoral conducts, disorderliness, falsehood, duplicity and social anarchy speaks volumes of the extremely permissive and corrupt nature of his personal life".
Speaking further, he said, let us take a brief look at the history of this religious pariah. Abel Damina finished Secondary School in 1988 from Prince College, Mista-Ali, Jos, Plateau State Nigeria.
He attempted to further his education by enrolling into the College of Advanced Studies, Zaria, but soon dropped out shortly after, claiming to have received a call to Ministry.
This was soon followed by the commencement of his Ministry in the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, just two years after secondary school.
From the foregoing, it is clear to see that the process of his making is already compromised as he could not endure the mental and physical discipline to run a basic post-secondary educational programme.
Even his entry into ministry cost him nothing as he did not sacrifice anything valuable to answer the call – no degree certificate, no professional qualification, no occupation or career, etc.
Adebayo stressed, Today, this same drop-out has the effrontery to challenge highly revered and renowned men of God and fathers of faith who are academic giants or scholars in their own rights aside their spiritual prowess.
His unbridled and visceral tongue did not spare God’s servants like; Pastor E.A. Adeboye, a renowned mathematician with PhD in Mathematics, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, also a mathematical scholar, Bishop David Oyedepo, a qualified architect, and Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Becky Enenche, both qualified medical doctors.
These are men and women who paid the price for the call of God into ministry. Ministry, to these men, is highly valued as they left behind enviable qualifications and gainful professions to do the work of God. But that is not the same for Abel Damina.
He left nothing behind, and it is obvious, he has nothing in front of him to pursue.
And since he has nothing to gain or lose, he is desperately on the loose, seeking to denigrate those who are genuinely doing the work of God with unquestionable conducts and proven track records.
His Ministerial practices have from the very beginning, been characterized by dubious fund-raising, the proceeds of which were taken by him almost immediately for personal use, and not for the church. That is, he would immediately walk away with the raised funds after the service, he could use the extremes of means, even hypnotics, if possible, to extract money from the congregants.
Adebayo narrated how, Damina once proudly told an associate that all his messages were strategically scripted to elicit giving or fundraising – that he wouldn’t preach any message that would not provoke people to give. In fact, he once told another associate that all the tithes of the church belonged to him.
But what do we have today ? The same fund-raiser-in-chief is now peddling a new doctrine that forbids the payment of tithe and other forms of giving in church and the reason for this newly minted doctrine is not far-fetched – since the fundraising and all the tithes he has been fraudulently taking from the people didn’t make him rich, no other church should take tithes from people.
But what he failed to realize is that whereas he diverted all tithes and funds raised by him on the church’s altar to his personal coffers, these other men of God, following scriptural injunctions, never had anything to do with tithes or other forms of giving in church. The standard practice is the total separation of the church from the man of God as two separate legal entities.
That makes the resources of the church not to be the same as the resources of the pastor. What is given to the church, be it tithes, offerings, sacrifices and other forms of giving, belong to the church, and not the pastor.
This is the standard scriptural practice, but Damina devoured all hook-line-and-sinker, and expected God, being a God of principle to prosper him, all the same. Since he is bankrupt of basic discipline and financial integrity to manage church’s resources, he assumes every other pastor is doing the same.
This is his mind-set because to the corrupt, everything is corrupt. He is acting like the harlot who killed her son in the Book of First Kings and wanted the surviving son of her roommate destroyed so both of them would become equal and childless. But King Solomon, being filled with the wisdom of God discerned the evil intent of the devious harlot, preserved the living child, and handed him to the rightful mother. And God is wiser than King Solomon: in the end, the heretic will always end as the ultimate loser.
Thus, Damina stepped into ministry with zero ethical foundation, zero sense of purpose, zero discipline, and zero sacrifice, just to go after people’s resources. His ministry and personal lifestyle have always been characterized with extreme level of permissiveness, disorderliness and error, hence his leaning on the absolutist grace doctrine to accommodate his moral depravity, indiscipline, avarice and recklessness.
To the gullible, unsuspecting generation of young, immature Christians, he is a hero, but deep down his hypocritical mind, he knows that he is up to nothing good but sheer falsehood, deception and double standard, with the ultimate intention to steal, to kill and to destroy lives, homes and thriving churches.
But the foundation of God stands sure, and the Lord knows those who are His – 2 Timothy 2:19. God will always stand to defend His works, and pull down all foundations and installations of falsehood, deception and evil. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
And in Mathew 3:10 Like all heretics before him, the wind of truth will eventually blow all forms of heresies into the abyss of history, and the Church of Christ will continue to march forward in triumph, and the gates of hell can never prevail against it, Adebayo stressed. The mumu Adebayo should just Sharpppp and consider that the moral, social, political and religious decedence in this country did not start with this pastor Abel Damina You Africans, the way you reason before talking shows how junky you are. Address the issue he raised you cannot, It is his pass misfortune you are looking at Who nor get past misfortune for life? If all these Adeboye, Oyedepo, Oyakhilome them tell you their past story, you go pity them Adebayo narrated how, Damina once proudly told an associate that all his messages were strategically scripted to elicit giving or fundraising – that he wouldn’t preach any message that would not provoke people to give. Is this not the same thing all these pastors are doing till now and they are not even ready to repent ? Adeboye, Oyedepo, Oyakhilome, Eneche, all of them. With their flamboyant doctrimes and fake testimonies, they institute people with the mentality of i must prosper by all means. What is more responsible for the moral decadence and yahoo mentality in this country? |
