Baldwretch: For clarity, the Kingdom of God is Heaven.
Heaven is an abode where God has his throne, the resting place of angels, and where God's presence and glory particularly manifest. This cannot be inside anyone.
you know it's very easy to say this because this is what we were all told in church from childhood?
But do you have any scripture in support of this? If you do, please post the scripture here. We will know whether the scripture contradicts the idea that by establishing the new testament God has set up his kingdom here on earth in us through the resurrection of Christ
Believers might be filled with the Holy Spirit; enjoy the divine Spirit in great measure, but God's spirit, the Holy Spirit, is not Heaven.
. OK, do you have scriptures?
don't know how to explain this to you. . ]/quote] you don't need to explain much. You can put up series of scriptures and arrange them chronologically the way i show you scriptures from the old testament which are all references to point that the kingdom of God was promised right from the time God spoke to Abraham. Remember, he told him you will be the father of many nations. Today, hundreds of nations worldwide are practicing Christianity to the glory of God, which is the fulfilment of that promise and which is kingdom of God set up by God right here on earth [quote]The enjoyment of the presence and Spirit of God is not a geographical location.
no one is saying it is geographic location.
On John the Baptist, you're quite ignorant. John was sent from Heaven to clear paths for the Messiah. In fact, at one point, Jesus said John is Elijah; the prophet prophesied in the old covenant for the assignment before him
I'm not ignorant of this, i know this is true. But it stil doesn't make John or Elijah part of the new covenant. That's why i asked the question at what point of the chronological arrangement of the bible was the new covenant established(death and resurrection of Christ), was it before John the Baptist died or was it after he died?
If it was after he died then it is contradictory to say that someone who died before the time was part of the time.
Check Act 1;15, there were just 120 people who were part of the Pentecost, and John the Baptist or Elijah wasn't one of them
It not only seem funny but ludicrous that you would address a blameless man - who died because he had been telling Herod that it is against the law to marry your brother's wife. It not only sound crazy, but this is just so fucking mehn.
These things are scriptures recorded, i wouldn't want to say what is not in the bible
You said:
> That we that are Christians today, the least of us is greater than John the Baptist and every other prophets of the old covenant according to what Jesus said.
What did Jesus say?
All these isn't to convince you, ofcourse you have your right to choose what you want to believe
If I may ask, DO YOU KNOW THAT EVERLASTING LIFE ON THIS EARTH IS REAL?
Unfortunately, may Christians especially in Africa don't know this. They claim to have everlasting life but they don't even know how it happens, so many of them do doubt whether it is real
But the point I'm letting you know is, someone along the line in history did not reveal a complete understanding of scriptures to us in Africa, so there is a carry over of faulty indoctrination which is adversely affecting Christianity especially in Africa today. Africans today are truly practicing Christianity with lack of understanding
So, you can understand why i said that John the Baptist did not stand a chance of being in God's kingdom. As a matter of fact he was killed before Christianity was established. That we that are Christians today, the least of us is greater than John the Baptist and every other prophets of the old covenant according to what Jesus said. Just reason it from how Adam and Eve sinned to how Daniel prophesied the coming of the kingdom to how Christ eventually died and resurrected to bring the kingdom which is the new covenant, you will understand that the kingdom of God is simply the Christian Faith and nothing more. Incase you are still doubting that kingdom of God is right inside you and you can personify it as a Christian(some scripture put it as EMMANUEL which means God with us), we will read and interprete some Jesus parables in the new testament concerning the kingdom of God and relate them with what i have just said about The fall of Adam and Eve and Daniel's prophesies for confirmation
Baldwretch: John didn't stand the chance of being in God's Kingdom and he disbelieved? Wow, your own faith is strong oo.
Baldwretch: You're doing good. Yes, people die because God tested humankind in Adam, but Christ came to restore back that relationship we had with God in Adam, not eternal life. Just think about this: man was not created immortal from the start; if he was, there would not be a need for God to create another tree with a fruit called the Tree of life or immortality. This is something I realized later in life. It seems to me that Adam was on probation until God was satisfied with his piety and then God would take him on a journey of self-discovery.
Yes, I agree. Yes!
I agree to a very large extent with what you wrote. In fact, Daniel 7 even makes it clear that Christ would rule forever, but I don't see any connection between an everlasting kingdom promised by God to Christ and how this kingdom implies everlasting life.
Ok, do you agree that Jesus is the founder of Christianity, that he founded Christianity the very day he resurrected after he was crucified. Meaning that there was nothing like Christianity on earth until he died and resurrected?
We are still coming to the issue of John the Baptist
Baldwretch: You are saying many conflicting things and it seems your ideas are conjured up. When Christ came to earth, one of his missions was to get as many people into the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is an actual kingdom and must be understood as such. The kingdom itself is not people - believers of Christ, as you call it. It is an actual kingdom. Jesus talks of his Father's house having many mansion and all that. You cannot float another idea of the kingdom of God for whatever reasons. When Jesus said for of such is the Kingdom of God, he did not mean that the children in question are the kingdom of God.
In the Gospel accounts, Jesus had a very favourable opinion of little children. Another account give a more vivid description of what happened and adds that he that would not take the Kingdom of God like a little child would never enter it. I think it's the Gospel of Luke. In another incident, he told his disciples not to look down on little children because their angels are always in the presence of his heavenly Father. If you look at the life of little children, their innocence, their meekness, and all that, you would understand why Jesus' opinion of kids is high.
That said, how you can personify an actual kingdom; how you can say I'm the kingdom of God of God is what I don't understand.
God says in the prophecy of Joel that in the last days, he would pour out his Spirit upon all flesh and there would be signs. The main difference is that it was not poured out on all flesh in the past. God's spirit of old is a totally different spirit but not the Holy spirit of now? What an entirely crass and moronic thing to say? What? Are you for real? The Holy Spirit that fell on the day of Pentecost was poured out at different time in history on different people even King David acknowledged that he had the Holy Spirit and he said in his penitential Psalms after murdering Uriah: remember, he was anointed by Samuel.
Let me start from Verse 8: Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. 9Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. 10Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. 11Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
Even King Saul had the Holy Spirit until God was displeased with him and an evil Spirit from God tormented him.
John didn't stand the chance of being in God's Kingdom and he disbelieved? Wow, your own faith is strong oo.
Please follow these bible facts carefully. I am going to number the facts from 1 to 5 to it simplicity. where ever I'm wrong please let me know
many facts in the bible were written figuratively which they required literal understanding, so be careful
please think or meditate on these facts before responding
1. The book Genesis tells us that Adam and Eve sinned that's why people die today. But Christ came and restore back that eternal life. This is the whole summary of the bible
Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
2. That the way to this eternal life is FAITH. That is our believe in Christ. But before Christ came to die, there were other Faiths on earth. For instance, there was Judaism which was the Faith God covenanted with Abraham
Hebrews 11:2 For by it(Faith) the elders(referring to elders of Jews) obtained a good report.(including Abraham)
3. That every tribes and kingdoms on earth have their own Faiths. For instance, most tribes or kingdoms in the old testament days practiced idolatry except the kingdom of Israel who who recognized the almighty God because of the covenant Abraham their forefather had with God
4. And that there were consistent battle among kingdoms. Since these kingdoms had their individual Faiths, these battles were seen by God as battle of Faiths(Spiritual battle)
Daniel 2:39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
4. That an everlasting Faith will be set up by God as prophesied by Daniel
Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
5. That the everlasting faith set up by God which was prophesied by Daniel is Christianity (the new covenant) which is the Christian faith and which is the faith that restore the eternal life that Adam and Eve lost out of disobedience from the beginning. Meaning, the everlasting kingdom implies everlasting life
Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob(the Jewish tribe) for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
The Jewish tribe is found on this earth right?
Please think
If you have anything contrary to any of these facts, please back it up with scriptures
Brenbentondiaz: What Jesus was actually saying there is not your interpretation of it. What He meant was that of all men born of women (ie, of all men before Jesus came, such as prophets of old etc), John was the greatest. Now the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than John. Who are these? They are those that are not born of women, but those that are "born of the Spirit". He was saying there that the lowest Christian is greater than even any of the old time prophets, because whereas the Holy Spirit used to come upon them for specific duties, the Holy Spirit is always in us as children of God.
God bless you sir for this.
That StillDtruth of guy keeps deceiving people with lies.
Many pastors in Nigeria have failed to understand this
Let's understand it from here, may be it will give you a clearer picture of what Jesus meant by God's kingdom, then you can relate it to the issue of John the Baptist
Baldwretch: Wow, nice perspective, but God's kingdom in us is not a literally kingdom
who said so? Actually, Jesus parables about the kingdom were not spoken literally, but the interpretation of these parables shows that the kingdom itself is literal and can be clearly understood what it was. The kingdom itself is people(believers of Christ), and nothing more
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
You can actually impersonify the kingdom of God. You can say I'm the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is not anything more than you and i that is on this earth
It is the Holy Spirit. God's spirit in us
that is just it and nothing more.
This also implies that the kingdom is simply abstract, we cannot get anything from it but eternal life
, but even in old times, the prophets, anointed kings, and righteous men had God's spirit and that was long before Jesus came.
that God's spirit of the old, is a total different spirit entirely but not the holy spirit that came with Christ. Otherwise he wouldn't have promise them a conforter and they will just maintain the old spirit which was never a quickening spirit, hence enternal life will be of no effect.
So, you can relate it now to John's situation.
Was John the Baptist part of those who who received the conforter in the book of Act? The answer is no
Therefore he never stood the chance of being in God's kingdom. So many prophets of the old too had wished to be privileged like us who have it. Hence, the least person in God's kingdom(you and I) is greater than John and all the prophets of the old.
He wasn't talking about angels
As for that StillDtruth mumu
He nor understand anything at all, he is just floating
This story isn't consistent, something is fishy about it. 1. You say the suspect hails from uyo, Akwa ibom state, but while interviewing him, his ascent sounds like that of a typical bini man and nothing close to calabar man. 2. You say his name is Happy Sunday? How come of all the calabar people, this same one who comitted this crime is bearing a combination of two English names Happy Sunday by chance?
The investigation need to start from the op who posted this video, so many questions that are begging answers. Where did he get the video from, who are these people and who is this suspect, where are the police arresting him, what area command was he taken to after his arrest, what is his real identity ? Someone cannot come and put up a fake video online to deceive the general public that the suspect has been arrested in order to relax his man hunt by the police.
Righthussle: Really, What of the hell for people who don't practice Hinduism. Sorry for you .
Whenever you see that moniker StillDtruth, just ignore the fool. He has so many mumu monikers like that which he used to jump on people threads and saying rubbish without invitation
StillDtruth: You say deep understanding yet you do not state where you got your so called deep understanding.
Clear proof, its a creation of your mind, for clearly mathew 11:3 shows him just asking for a confirmation of what he aleeady believed., which as we all see Jesus answered him Saying.'do you not see..../do you not hear....?
After that, did he say anything again? No.
As i have always told you, your mind is mushed up and twisted.
StillDtruth: When we want to confirm something we know is this not the question we ask?
deep understanding of all what conspired in the story will reveal that John did not ask the question to confirm what he already know, though it appears so in Matthew 11:3.
Because Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
That means, he is not even among the least in the kingdom of heaven. Why wasn't he among the least in the kingdom of heaven? Because he doubted
Because, whosever believe(not doubted) will have eternal life. And were is eternal life? The kingdom of heaven.
So, John did not attend the kingdom because he asked the question in doubt, and Jesus knew, that's why he didn't classify him among the least in the kingdom.
And consider that John may have expected Jesus to come and deliver him from prison but he didn't, that may cause him to doubt
StillDtruth: Where did you get that john was not a believer when you already see him beliving and looking out for He who was promised to come, up.to the point of seeking confirmation from Jesus ?
Yes, it is true that John believed whole heartedly, infact he we was the first man to believe and even draw his disciples to Christ. But at some point when he was imprisoned, he lost he belief, he doubted whether this same Jesus Christ was the Messiah.
Matthew 11:2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, Matthew11:3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
A man who is asking questions like that at this point shows that he has lost his belief or faith.
The word OFFENSE is used in the bible to describe someone who once believe, then he lost his belief or Faith at some point. Because, ....whosever believes in me should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Matthew 11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me .
Jamestaiwo: How can you be a disciple of Jesus and you do not preach the Gospel?
1 Corinthians 9:16 [16]For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
Romans 1:16 [16]For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
And when you go about preaching the word of God, why do you people like singling out Christians to preach to and not Muslims or an unbeliever? Meanwhile, in the bible Paul focused his preaching to convert unbelievers into Christianity but you people don't do that. You are re-winning the souls of Christians
Baldwretch: So I was just thinking about divine government yesterday and I know that many Christians would disagree with me.
Don't just read and pass, let me read your disagreement perhaps I might have a change of thoughts towards this.
This line of thought is borne out of a saying of Jesus and an experience I have had in a workplace I am hustling to get by.
Let me talk about the workplace. So my workplace is a Construction site. Quite stressful. Very stressful I must admit. You are carrying acrows, peris, stretching them, mixing this and that, doing this and that from 8am to 5pm. And if you work with the carpenters or some others, you close by 5:30pm unless you are able to finish your housekeeping on time.
Here is the thing. By 7:40am, when toolbox meeting starts, you should be there. If you are not in the site by 7:50am, you would not work for that day because the officer in charge would have assigned duties to all the independent contractors there at the time. I get work twice, or three times a week and if I am super lucky, I get four times in a week, but there are some contractors who get work everyday. It doesn't matter if they worked yesterday or the day before. They would sha get work. Always. Even they know it.
One day after toolbox meeting and I didn't get work, I just jokingly told one - you na baba oo. Na everytime you dey get work. He told me that he was once like me that he would come over and go back home, but that was when the building was at the foundation level. Hmm. In my mind, I was like wow, you have been here for close to two years. We are currently at the seventh floor with four more floors to go. He added that I should move in with those contractors who sleep on site as they are also favoured. The site has rooms for contractors who wish to sleep on site. The very idea that the distribution of jobs might be laced with unfair advantage vanished coupled with the fact that the boss who distributes the job acts fairly. It was all fair and dandy to me.
But that is that and I would come back to this.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:11: I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!
This is mind boggling and screams of justice in the divine government. I will tell you why. Many humans have lived and died. So many. Many righteous people who have done the will of God have come and gone, but Jesus makes a startling statement. John is the greatest and most righteous human that has ever lived and yet if we compare his greatness and righteousness side by side with those in Heaven, he would come out the least. He would seem like nothing.
Rightly so. Human beings are not what they think they are. When you get to Heaven righteous reader, you would join the queue. You would not get special favours or relish than those already there. The angels have been in existence before man was created and they would continue to serve God when humans are no more. Righteous beings in Heaven have been serving God before you were born, before your first ancestor was born, before the first human was born, before the earth was created, before time began and they are still at it. Would John, the most righteous human that lived after John, or other very, very righteous man stand close in God's preference of beings. Creatures that barely served God. Some lived to be 80 years and some 120, but even the best of men are men at their best. Angels have been standing before God running errands for him for millions of years. They have received transferred holiness by virtue of being in the divine presence. If God wants to share candy in Heaven; this is how the distribution would go.
Cherub X, gets first. then Cherub XY then Seraph AB Cherub C Guarding Cherub CZ Guarding Cherub HK And on and on and on with the Cherubs
Then Micheal, Gabriel, angel X, Y, Z, ZX and on and on and on... All of Heaven's inhabitants would get first
Before we talk of humans. Now, we can be talking of John and some very, very righteous persons. The order and hierarchy of the angels is not known to me but the point is clear. God would give Heaven's armies first. They have been with God for ages and it is only right that they get first. They have served God for ages and it is only right that they get first. They are more righteous than humans and it is only right that they get first. You would have to join the queue.
what Jesus meant by the least person in God's kingdom is greater than John the Baptist is that, the least person who is a believer is greater than John the Baptist who didn't believe until he was eventually killed.
It was never a thing of angels comparing with man. The kingdom of heaven is within us, that is what you have not understood
C) He was killed by the Philistines (2 Sam 21: 11-13)
D) He killed himself and god put him to death (1 Chron. 10:4, 13-14)
Have you seem the fairy tales you read as a holy book? can you tell me how one person died in four different ways in one book ? oh ok the holy spirit will explain it to me 🤫
please in the comment section drop your favorite bible story and i will reply you with 5 to 10 contradiction on each story u bring up , I have studied the bible more than many African pastors so u can imagine how I laugh at you when u come to quote bible on my post, Olodo what do u know? Religious people dont know world histories but dwells on bible stories and boast of knowledge, how dumb?
The reason why you are still a christian is because you dont even read your bible, 99% of Christians dont read the bible, they just look at the bible and say thank you jesus or Holy Spirit take control 🤣
All your life you depend on what the bible says , holy spirit says, your pastors says and your empty brainwashed head has nothing to offer
The Bible have been written, rewritten, edited and reedited severally by man while they can... so how is it the word of your imaginary god? Are you ok ?
The picture below 👇🏾 is how I see religious people 😎
Some of you atheists, you don't know anything, you keep fooling yourselves thinking that you have knowledge.
By your atheistic ideology, can you prove that a spirit God do not exist? No you can't.
Then why commenting on what you cannot prove?
Who sees you, they will think that you are thinking. Whereas, ko ko ko, empty brain
If what today Christians call born again is renewing your dedication to God, then born again isn't necessary.
And there is nothing like born again in the real sense
You were born again right from the point of conception, that's why you were born into a Christian home where you were brought up by your Christian parents to become a Christian.
If you were born into a Muslim family for example, then you would have been a Muslim, it's as simple as that.
For those of you who think that your Christian life is all about being dedicated to God or to a church have you ever thought that if you were to born into a Muslim home you would not dedicate yourself to church but to the Islamic god?
God does not need your dedication. He only needs your faith
And that faith is Christianity, which is the state of you being born into a Christian home.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Invariably, this means without Christianity it is impossible to please God.
MightySparrow: You are right. I was telling some folks last week that any teaching of the Bible that is localized, is not talking of the God of the Bible. If you see the prayer pattern of most churches, especially pentecostals, they are born out of traditional experiences. All this 'enemy praying churches' for instance. Some other practices show they are mixing Christianity with religion. IEven in the enlightened worlds, most of churches taken to Europe and America from Africa, are not attracted by whites. They find our theology funny. Actually, our theology is funny
I can tell you many Nigerian pastors who were barred from entering the UK. Oyedepo, Oyakhilome and many of them like that cannot even go there.
Here is another fascinating confusion
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
A typical African pastor will quote this scripture to cast and bind devil, witches and wizards. But meanwhile, the scripture only used the terms principalities and powers to describe people who persecuted Christians at that time, not any devil and witches.
In Africa, if you are not a church freak, then you are not a Christian (they don't even know what it means to be a Christian). Evangelism is Christian to Christian, Not Christian to Non Christians
God is magician of testimonies. A woman who gives birth is testimony. If you buy car, testimony If you build house, testimony If you go work come back, testimony
MightySparrow: Most Christians in Africa are3 lazy, they don't want to read the Bible. It is all about pastor said..,. There is this evil mindset of mixing traditions with Christianity. You will be hearing, it is written, actually it is. But when a preacher dwells much on Old Testament, he himself is confused. It is very difficult to change the mindset of a black man. Moreso , we only read to pass examinations. We largely don't read for living and knowledge.
Here is the origin of the problem
Intellectually, many Christians not just only in Africa are not trying at all to understand the God they worship. But Africans mostly are badly affected..
Obviously, the European missionaries who brought Christianity to Africa were never intelligent enough to fully understand the bible and to fully pass the information therein to Africans, so they settled for teaching afrivans the traditional misconceptions of the bible that we have today, knowing that is what they can easily understood and accept. So, Africa today is a carry over of the many misconceptions of the bible that put them into perpetual confusion. Even as they read this, many of them cannot even comprehend.
TechBaron: Email the school through the office of the Registrar.
I have been verifying our employees certificates during recruitment using this method for years now.
Most times, it takes ages for the school to respond, just get the school phone number and out it on auto redial.
They'll definitely attend to your enquiry.
does this mean that all candidates who seek employment must have their certificates verified by the company or there are some certificates that looks ungenuine that needs to be verified ?
The1960writer: Well, if we could help ourselves, why then would we need the help from heaven?
Heaven has finished helping people a long time ago since 2000 years ago Christ came. The day Jesus Christ was crucified he said it, it is finish. so don't expect help anymore from heaven.
Except heaven just want to willingly and miraculously help which is not very common because there are no necessities So If it doesn't want to help no one can force it to do so
