We are supposed to be God's children but our connection to God has been cut off through the sin we inherited from Adam {Romans 3:23} that is why God sent Jesus to serve as a role model for us {1Peter 2:21} and by practicing what Jesus taught us we can please the Almighty God who is the father and God of all creation:

"Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’” John 20:17

So according to Jesus we are his brothers not his worshipers whereas all of us (including Jesus) are worshipers of the same God!

Do you realize that Muslims and other non Christians have this same opinion about Jesus Christ, that Jesus is a brother in worship to God, not God himself ?

Jehovah witnesses worshipping the father and honoring the son shows that they are not Christians.
Muslims do the same.
