Oh my dear country! Do these people know that they are actually elected to touch people's lives? So why does he have do say all these? The Governor's interest is gold is noteworthy because he adorns himself with the expensive metals that you'll wonder if he ever feels the weight on his neck. |
Mukina Happy Birthday! Though you never bothered to respond to my proposition but my heart still longs for you and this is another occasion to let you know how much I LOVE YOU. Don't mind the busy bodies on Nairaland. Happy birthday girl, |
So you can see how long a thread can be on Nairaland. How much i love this place. |
Congratulate yourselves as much as you can. But without being cynical, what is a temporary membership without a veto power worth? Nobody will even remember that you are there. The Five Veto Powers are the power brokers. |
I am through with you here |
What exactly do you want? A medal for being the most forthright and outspoken ethnic group in Nigeria? Where are your leaders now? Jostling for crumbs. Did you hear what your hero- Ojukwu said recently at the NLNG award ceremony? Keep deluding your infantile memories. |
Your senseless revisionism would not do anything to assuage your badly bruised ego. It would only deepen your wound. Your rash fathers were defeated by more gallant soldiers. Cry on fools, |
@Dede1 and Onlytruth You have just confirmed that your imbecility. So you think you can use your uncouth and retarded IQ to outwit me? Stupid assholes |
Now, i'm tired. This ethnic bashing is becoming too much for me to handle. Why can't we just discuss like normal people? |
are they sharing it among states? |
vangogh:Very intelligent. It was done because of JJ Rawlings. Nigeria has always been acting the big brother and couldn't have sent them packing because of Nigeria's economic decline. Nigeria had just transited to civil rule and it was a bid to discourage the then Military dictator in Ghana, unfortunately, it coincided with the period that Shagari was messing with the economy. |

Ok, thanks puskin. Well, both are blog sites and they are for different reasons. I enjoy my freedom and privacy on Nairaland better. I can discuss issues without border because image is nothing on Nairaland while on Facebook it's all about pretending to be a cloned version of Brad Pitt or David Beckham. |
The restriction to these men shows that Nigeria is in dire need of good leaders. What a shame! |
Is it a boxing match or a football contest? |
It is rather pathetic that you guys are still sulking after more than 40 years. Didn't the Amercians fight a Civil War? You Igbo bigots, apology to the reasonable ones, would always look for someone to blame for your woes. And whose account are you relying on? Ojukwu personal historian or what ? To be modest, I know a little about history and i can say that every one of us would give a different version of the same event that we witnessed. It might be deliberate distortion or erroneous misrepresentation of facts. what would the Gowons, the Adebayos, the Katsinas have said about the same event? Was your Azikwe not hobnobbing with Balewa while Awolowo was langushing in jail? Stop ascribing perfection to your tribe and start looking for ways to fully integrate yourselves. I am tired of reading all these sanctimonious diatribes. |
The most asked question in our national history. hmmmm |
Anambra because of its strategic economic and geographical position needs someone who can think outside the box and a fast thinker. A leader who can move with the trend of things and harness all the enormous resources at his disposal to transform the state. My pick is SOLUDO. This is not about PDP, it's about what the state would benefit from his election. Though i'm not from Anambra but i understand that the state should be among the most developed in the country. |
A noble initiative, worthy of commendation. |

nothing, except on Nairaland |
olafolarin:So Oga Commentator, what do you call imposition? That some leaders of thoughts can gather themselves together to anoint a candidate makes it democratic? Your line of reasoning beggars belief. Do the parties in America select candidates? And because people have skeletons in their cupboards and others do not have, or have less skeletons make them more acceptable to the "leaders" and what happens to the court of public opinion? Why have people with skeletons in their cupboards in your fold in the first place? Is it to be mere party financial contributors and then be disenfranchised from participating in elections? You might want to acquaint yourself with what happened in Osun in 1999. These thoughtless leaders paved the way for PDP's incursion into the South west with their myopic reasoning and stupid gerontocracy. |

the test usually consists of quantitative, verbal and visual spatiality tests. Then, you will be required to do a write-up on any topical issue. |
Ebonyeyes:I have a similar experience. But you ladies are fond of over protecting your other male friends. How do you say it that it would not hurt? How would you say it without overtly accusing her of being unfaithful? It's difficult coping with women especially when they have this unusual fondness for boyfriends at the expense of their lovers. Some will even accuse you of suffering from complex, imagine. |
Hello guys, one of the most difficult questions in life, particularly a relationship is "what do women want?" A friend who just lost his job has a lady he started dating shortly before he lost his job. It was a relationship made in heaven and consummated on earth. She is working class and at 29 has never been in a relationship. He has had a fair share of the romantic world and hoping to commit himself wholeheartedly into the relationship. Then the unexpected happened, the guy lost his lucrative job in one of the top Telecom company. The lady was supportive and forthcoming. However, the situation was becoming overwhelming for the guy when he couldn't easily get another job. Now, he has been complaining that she has been unreceptive towards him and perhaps involved in another relationship which he cannot substantiate. The lady wants him to focus instead on their relationship and stop snooping or dwelling on pettiness to which the guy says that his present condition far outweighs. She complains that he nags too often and becoming increasingly irritated. She alludes her decision to keep her relationships with other people, particularly her male friends from him due to his constant nagging. So what do ladies want? |
The news quoted was culled from The Tribune of 01/10/2009. |
This post can't be true. Although there are several factions of NANS. One of the factions still has Daniel Onjei as its leader. Daniel was a FUT Minna student then when he led the NANS around 99/2000. Can the guy be an undergraduate for 15 years considering the fact that he must have been in 300 level at least to contest for NANS leadership? Moreso, there is a contrary news, see below: Independence: NANS declares vote of no confidence in Yar’Adua Adunola Fasuyi, Lagos - 02.10.2009 ANGERED by the Federal Government’s independence to their plight, Nigerian students, on Thursday, in Lagos, demanded the resignation of President Umaru Yar’Adua. At a rally to conincide with the 49th independence anniverasy of the country, the students, under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and Education Rights Campaign (ERC), passed a vote of no confidence in his administration. They accused him of ambivalence to the current strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which had kept the students at home for more than four months. The students, who converged at the Labour House, the headquaters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Yaba, said, “While it (October 1) should be an occasion to celebrate, it is rather unfortunate that it is another time for the Yar’Adua administration, which cannot point to any achievement since it came to power in 2007, to assure the traumatised Nigerian workers, students and youths of the so-called magical formula of its 7-pointless agenda.” They said it was shameful, degrading, dishonourable and an insult on them for the president to travel to Saudi Arabia to commission an education institution when his own education sector, from the primary level, to the university level had completely collapsed due to the government’s insensitivity to the plight of teachers, lecturers and students. “In fact, President Yar’Adua only went to humiliate himself because the whole world, including the country he went to, are all aware of the pitiable state of Nigeria’s education industry,” they noted |
@OP Best advice- Suicide. it is noiseless and after a while, no one will remember that you ever existed much less being called a Nigerian. |
The Central Bank of Nigeria in a continuation of its recent shake up of the banking sector has announced the removal of the MD/CEOs of ETB- Equirotial Trust Bank, Bank PHB and Spring Bank. This is coming amidst the rumoured resignation of Mr Francis Atuche, the CEO of Bank PHB. Also removed are the Non Executive Directors of Spring Bank and Otunba Mike Adenuga of Equitorial Trust Bank. It is however surpising that Bank PHB had hitherto been considered as untouchable owing to the fact that the President's family hold a substantial stake in the bank. The CBN has further injected the sum of N200 billion into the banks including Wema Bank. The affected CEOs have been replaced. |
Anywhere but Nigeria ![]() |
Infact, the whole OP should be deleted. |
