SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Payments of $5 million to every eligible Black adult, the elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, guaranteed annual incomes of at least $97,000 for 250 years and homes in San Francisco for just $1 a family.

These are just some of the recommendations made by a city-appointed reparations committee tasked with a thorny question: What would it take to atone for the centuries of U.S. slavery and generations of systemic racism that continue to keep Black Americans on the bottom rungs of health, education and economic prosperity, and overrepresented in prisons and homeless populations?

A first hearing underway before the city’s Board of Supervisors on Tuesday could offer a glimpse of the board’s appetite for advancing a reparations plan that would be unmatched nationwide in specificity and breadth. Critics have slammed it as financially and politically impossible. One conservative analyst estimated that each non-Black family in the city would have to pay at least $600,000.

LEGOLAND coming to Naija?!

In the only SE state classified as “educationally disadvantaged”, the governor is busy building an airport when Enugu Airport is just about one hour away by road - less time than it takes to get from several parts of Lagos to the MMA Domestic Airport. SMH

This solar na still big man matter sha, cause whenever you try run the numbers side-by-side current cost or running a mix of gen/NEPA, gen/NEPA always comes out cheaper, although unlike running gen/NEPA, solar can give you round the clock electricity, less fumes and less noise.

Air Peace is in talks with Boeing over a potential B787 order, according to Chief Executive Officer Allen Onyema.

Responding to a question on the carrier's fleet plans during a SkyConnect Leadership Dialogue webcast hosted by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) on February 13, 2023, Onyema said: "We have our B777s, and we are also discussing with Boeing for the Dreamliner, which I feel will come very soon". He did not elaborate.

Asked for comment, Boeing deferred to Air Peace. "We generally don’t comment on negotiations," a spokesperson said.

This comes after Boeing shares fell nearly 5% at the end of February on the news that the manufacturer was halting B787 deliveries over documentation issues related to a fuselage component. Deliveries will be delayed pending US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval. It also comes as the first two commercial B787 are being retired and dismantled for spare parts by Irish asset management and trading company EirTrade Aviation.

Meanwhile, Onyema said the privately-owned carrier was awaiting the delivery of a firm order of fifteen B737 MAX, including seven B737-8s and eight B737-10s, all "paid for". According to the latest Embraer order book, Air Peace also has an outstanding order of eight E195-E2s out of a total order of thirteen, with five of the type already delivered.
