Neither Alito nor Thomas say the suit has any *substance,* they just think the Constitution requires that they hear it.

It’s also interesting that NONE of TrUmp’s appointees voted to even hear the case

I think the decision will probably come down today by 6pm Eastern time and it will be very difficult for these idiots to swallow it. Supreme Court will decline to take the case because it's unconstitutional for the SCOTUS to overturn the will of the people. America is not some third world banana republic.
Alright
Fingers crossed

The 14 Republican House Reps who who signed the brief to overturn the US presidential election in those 4 swing states, and also appeared on the same ballot as the purported "loser" (and won) should not be reseated in January until the House Admin Committee looks into claims of “voter fraud"

For those who allow CNN and co twist words. See the exact meaning of what the supreme court said concerning the PA case.
Clearly, Harold didn’t read the entire docket. In the docket, the person who brought the suit also asked the court to treat his application as a request for certiorari i.e. request to hear the case.

Thus, as the SC has basically thrown it out, that’s the end of it
CrimeRe: Reps Consider Deadlines For Courts On Criminal, Civil Cases by PDPGuy: 6:25pm On Dec 10, 2020
I applaud this move!

The NASS should also introduce a constitutional amendment to set a definite time frame within which pre-election and post-election litigation can be heard in the courts/tribunals.

Assuming February is the new permanent date for general elections, I’d suggest all post-election litigation must end a week before the expiration of the term of office of the last office holder. This should bring about a more orderly transition

Voting counting after election is a taboo to originalistic jurisprudence scholars
My friend, votes have been counted DAYS after Election Day in many states for decades. For eg, it typically takes California 3-4 weeks to finish counting votes cast in a general election. Bear in mind that CA has around 21 million registered voters.

There is no way a court will ask any state to limit counting of votes to only the Election Day. In fact, other large states like Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Ohio count votes BEYOND Election Day.

You just have to accept it as the reality of life.

18 states have joined Texas lawsuit against 4 states for violation of the constitution .Arizona among them.

18 is yuge. They give the SC the right to question the effect of the courts and executive actions to alter the rules. Meaning those 4 states have to explain some irregularities. For example all 4 stopped counting votes with at least 93% count and Trump leading, only for Biden to overcome Trump within a few hours

The SC can also order the electors be delayed till they resolve the case. The only date cast in stone is Jan 20 inauguration .Any other can be delayed.

This is huge.Biden might not be sworn in.
Per the bolded, I seriously doubt whether the Supreme Court would want to alter the calendar of the Electoral College vote.

Remember that the same court in Bush v. Gore decided the case early, in part, due to the upcoming “safe harbor” and Electoral College vote deadlines then. And this same court quickly dismissed Rep Kelly’s suit due to the same approaching “safe harbor deadline”.

Moreover, if Texas is claiming the right to sue some states due to a perceived violation of the US constitution and state constitution with regard to voting rules, nothing stops California, NY, Colorado, Nevada etc from bringing a suit before the USSC against TX or some other red state that have been suppressing voting rights of ethnic minorities.

After all, the actions of Texas elections authorities also impacted the presidential election vote, which impacts the votes in California

Is that the supreme court? The supreme court has the final say.
By the time any such appeal heads to the Supreme Court, the Electoral College would have already cast their votes for president and Vice President.

Besides, the United States Supreme Court would never want to essentially invalidate the vote of the Electoral college.

"To safeguard public legitimacy at this unprecedented moment and restore public trust in the presidential election, this Court should extend the December 14, 2020 deadline for Defendant States' certification of presidential electors to allow these investigations to be completed," he wrote.
"Should one of the two leading candidates receive an absolute majority of the presidential electors' votes to be cast on December 14, this would finalize the selection of our President. The only date that is mandated under the Constitution, however, is January 20, 2021."

Definitely not about any mythical “fraud” or “irregularities”.

Besides, the TX AG should have brought the suit BEFORE a single vote was cast in the election, if he was truly concerned that the 4 swing states were effectively disenfranchising the other 46 states and DC.

You can’t simply wait to find out the results in those states before deciding to bring such a suit before the Court.

Covid-19 poses no threat to Nigerians as people have been going on their normal business activities. But as always, people will fall for the mass hysteria created by the media and unscrupulous western politicians. Any healthy person in Nigeria who is idiotic enough to get the vaccines (or do I say play a guineapig) deserves whatever comes his or her way.

They thought people would be dropping like flies in Africa and it didn't happen. Now they want to introduce some vaccines for some virus that our bodies were able to defeat naturally.

/
But what happens when all countries and/or all international airlines require proof of Covid vaccination before boarding flights?

I’ve come to a realization: the reason why most Republican members of Congress are supporting Trump’s stubbornness is that Trump currently has a 89% favorability rating amongst Republicans.

They’re deeply scared of being abandoned by Trump voters or being primaried by a Trumpian candidate in 2022.

Once this dust settles, most of these Republicans would turn to chameleons to later claim that their support of these frivolous lawsuits was done in the name of “ensuring that the voting systems in the country are fool-proof”. They will make this pivot in order to deceive gullible independents to think that they (Trumpian Republicans) are rational people.

After Supreme Court throws out the Texas Suit, Trump will ratchet pressure on Congressmen not to accept the electoral votes. This of course will fail as they don't have the numbers, but it will highlight which Senators are scared of Trumpanzees and are willing to cause a brouhaha just to play to their base.

Trump has almost finished America.
My guy, the Texas AG is just doing eye service. He wants a pardon from Trump because he has been under FBI investigation since 2015, and has been indicted by the Feds.

The frivolous lawsuit is just a roundabout way of him doing a quid pro quo with Trump, without the appearance of corruption

See as the Judge politely dismissed Sidney Powell's lawsuit as "finding favour in the public sphere of gossip and innuendo but is not a substitute for earnest pleading"

In his mind, you can translate that to mean "just because batshït crazy people like basilico and ono find these conspiracy theories appealing, does not mean you can bring this nonsense to my court"
Chai!! The smack down was polite but devastating grin
